  • Grails + Spring Security one field login

    - by Miguel
    Hi all Is it possible, using spring security plugin 0.5.3 with Grails 1.2.1, to authenticate a user using only one field? I mean, for example, making j_username and j_password fields in the authentication form equal previous to the authentication. I read it was possible to define j_username field in Config.groovy with acegi plugin, in older versions of the plugin. Now it uses SecurityConfig.groovy but the possibility of defining the field exists no more. Any ideas?? Thanks a lot, Miguel

  • Spring/RMI server error

    - by 4herpsand7derpsago
    We have a Spring MVC web app (WAR) deploying to Tomcat (6.0.35) that launches a thread inside a separate JVM at deploy time (don't ask why - not my design) and then communicates with that thread via RMI over port 8888. Despite being totally convoluded, this was working perfectly fine up until yesterday, and now the thread is failing at startup and despite our best efforts to add logging into the mix, we are hitting a wall. This is the only exception we are able to find in the logs: Jun 12, 2012 3:11:36 AM com.ourapp.ImageController destroy SEVERE: Shutdown Error: Lookup of RMI stub failed; nested exception is java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: localhost; nested exception is: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused Jun 12, 2012 3:11:37 AM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext listenerStop SEVERE: Exception sending context destroyed event to listener instance of class org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/springframework/web/context/ContextCleanupListener at org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener.contextDestroyed(ContextLoaderListener.java:80) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext.listenerStop(StandardContext.java:3973) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext.stop(StandardContext.java:4577) at org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig.checkResources(HostConfig.java:1165) at org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig.check(HostConfig.java:1271) at org.apache.catalina.startup.HostConfig.lifecycleEvent(HostConfig.java:296) at org.apache.catalina.util.LifecycleSupport.fireLifecycleEvent(LifecycleSupport.java:119) at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.backgroundProcess(ContainerBase.java:1337) at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase$ContainerBackgroundProcessor.processChildren(ContainerBase.java:1601) at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase$ContainerBackgroundProcessor.processChildren(ContainerBase.java:1610) at org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase$ContainerBackgroundProcessor.run(ContainerBase.java:1590) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:662) Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.springframework.web.context.ContextCleanupListener at org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader.loadClass(WebappClassLoader.java:1387) at org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader.loadClass(WebappClassLoader.java:1233) ... 12 more The ImageController is the Spring MVC Controller that is responsible for kicking off this daemon/spawned RMI thread. Based on the verbage of this error, does anybody have any idea what might be causing this "connection refused" error? Running a netstat -an | grep 8888 (this is a Linux machine) produces no output which means nothing is listening on that port. Thanks in advance for any ideas/suggestions that lead to a fix. • Hibernate + Spring : cascade deletion ignoring non-nullable constraints

    - by E.Benoît
    Hello, I seem to be having one weird problem with some Hibernate data classes. In a very specific case, deleting an object should fail due to existing, non-nullable relations - however it does not. The strangest part is that a few other classes related to the same definition behave appropriately. I'm using HSQLDB 1.8.0.10, Hibernate 3.5.0 (final) and Spring 3.0.2. The Hibernate properties are set so that batch updates are disabled. The class whose instances are being deleted is: @Entity( name = "users.Credentials" ) @Table( name = "credentials" , schema = "users" ) public class Credentials extends ModelBase { private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; /* Some basic fields here */ /** Administrator credentials, if any */ @OneToOne( mappedBy = "credentials" , fetch = FetchType.LAZY ) public AdminCredentials adminCredentials; /** Active account data */ @OneToOne( mappedBy = "credentials" , fetch = FetchType.LAZY ) public Account activeAccount; /* Some more reverse relations here */ } (ModelBase is a class that simply declares a Long field named "id" as being automatically generated) The Account class, which is one for which constraints work, looks like this: @Entity( name = "users.Account" ) @Table( name = "accounts" , schema = "users" ) public class Account extends ModelBase { private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; /** Credentials the account is linked to */ @OneToOne( optional = false ) @JoinColumn( name = "credentials_id" , referencedColumnName = "id" , nullable = false , updatable = false ) public Credentials credentials; /* Some more fields here */ } And here is the AdminCredentials class, for which the constraints are ignored. @Entity( name = "admin.Credentials" ) @Table( name = "admin_credentials" , schema = "admin" ) public class AdminCredentials extends ModelBase { private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; /** Credentials linked with an administrative account */ @OneToOne( optional = false ) @JoinColumn( name = "credentials_id" , referencedColumnName = "id" , nullable = false , updatable = false ) public Credentials credentials; /* Some more fields here */ } The code that attempts to delete the Credentials instances is: try { if ( account.validationKey != null ) { this.hTemplate.delete( account.validationKey ); } this.hTemplate.delete( account.languageSetting ); this.hTemplate.delete( account ); } catch ( DataIntegrityViolationException e ) { return false; } Where hTemplate is a HibernateTemplate instance provided by Spring, its flush mode having been set to EAGER. In the conditions shown above, the deletion will fail if there is an Account instance that refers to the Credentials instance being deleted, which is the expected behaviour. However, an AdminCredentials instance will be ignored, the deletion will succeed, leaving an invalid AdminCredentials instance behind (trying to refresh that instance causes an error because the Credentials instance no longer exists). I have tried moving the AdminCredentials table from the admin DB schema to the users DB schema. Strangely enough, a deletion-related error is then triggered, but not in the deletion code - it is triggered at the next query involving the table, seemingly ignoring the flush mode setting. I've been trying to understand this for hours and I must admit I'm just as clueless now as I was then.

  • Spring's JMS Design Question : Decouple processing of messages

    - by java_pill
    I'm using a message listener to process some messages from MQ based on Spring's DefaultMessageListenerContainer. After I receive a message, I have to make a Web Service (WS) call. However, I don't want to do this in the onMessage method because it would block the onMessage method until the invocation of WS is successful and this introduces latency in dequeuing of messages from the queue. How can I decouple the invocation of the Web Service by calling it outside of the onMesage method or without impacting the dequeuing of messages? Thanks,

  • instantiate spring bean via factory method

    - by Don
    Hi, I need to instantiate a Spring bean in the same manner as this Java code: MyClass foo = Mockito.mock(MyClass.class); The XML I need will look something like: <bean id="foo" class="Mockito" factory-method="mock"> <constructor-arg value="MyClass"/> </bean> I can't seem to find the correct syntax for passing a Class object as a parameter to the factory method. Thanks, Don

  • java spring and ftl

    - by bobby
    I defined a modelview object named "buttonpressed" in spring controller file and I need to access that modelview object in ftl(freemarker) file which is being returned as a view from a controller like abcd.java The abcd.java controller code is as below if (questionAnswer.getAnswerId() == 1045) { modelAndView.addObject("buttonPressed","You have been added in mailing list"); modelAndView.setViewName("enterCode_nextSteps"); } else { modelAndView.addObject("buttonPressed","Not added in the mailing list"); modelAndView.setViewName("enterCode_nextSteps"); } the below ajax function is working fine currently but I am not sure how to access this object called "buttonpressed" in this ajax function. I have written like the way mentioned below but when i am clicking the submit link its not calling "partner.do" and also throwing error saying #buttonPressed is undefind (but in the script below its working fine and calling "partner.do" and even posting data) So is that problem coming from javsscript code i mean due to incorrect use of "buttonPressed" or might be problem from spring controller abcd.java file. <div class="partnerOptInBox"> <div id="optInContent"> <form name="partnerOptIn"> <h4>Want the Latest</h4> <p class="pad10Top">${partnerOpt.translation}</p> <div class="pad10Top"> <input type="radio" name="questionAnswer['${partnerOpt.questionId}']" value="${partnerOpt.getAnswers()[0].answerId}" class="radioButton" /> <label for="questionAnswer['${partnerOpt.questionId}']" class="formLabel pad20Right">Yes</label> <input type="radio" name="questionAnswer['${partnerOpt.questionId}']" class="radioButton" value="${partnerOpt.getAnswers()[1].answerId}" /> <label for="questionAnswer['${partnerOpt.questionId}']" class="formLabel">No</label> </div> <div id="optInError" class="formError" style="display:none;">Oops... your request did not go through, please try again.</div> <div class="pad15Top"> <a href="javascript:submitOptIn();"><img src="images/theme/btn_opt_in_submit.gif"/></a> </div> </form> <script type="text/javascript"> function submitOptIn() { $('optInError').hide(); dataString = $('#partnerOptIn').serialize(); $.ajax({ data: dataString, url: "partnerOpt.do", timeout: 30000, type: "POST", success: function(html){ var newHtml = "<h4>Thank you</h4><p>We appreciate your time to respond to our request.</p>"; $('#optInContent').html(newHtml); }, */trying this code for sucess is throwing me an error /* <!-- buttonpressed function--> success: function(html){ $('#optInContent').html(${buttonPressed}); }, <!-- buttonpressed function--> error: function(){ $('#optInError').show(); } }); } </script>

  • Execute method on startup in spring

    - by Javi
    Hello, Is there any Spring 3 feature to execute some methods when the application starts for the first time? I know that I can do the trick of setting a method with @Scheduled annotation and it executes just after the startup, but then it will execute periodically. Thanks.

  • Solr Facet Search spring-data-solr

    - by sv1
    I am new to Solr and we are using Spring-data for Solr I have a question may be its too simple but I am unable to comprehend. Basically I need to search on any field but I have a "zip" field as one of the facet fields. I have a Solr repository . (Am not sure if the annotations on the Repository are correct.) public interface MyRepository extends SolrCrudRepository<MyPOJO, String> { @Query(value = "*:*") @Facet(fields={"zip"}) public FacetPage<MyPOJO> findByQueryandAnno(String searchTerm,Pageable page); } In my Service class I am trying to call this methods by Injecting MyRepository like below public class MyService { @Inject MyRepository solrRepo; @Inject SolrTemplate solrTemplate; public FacetPage<MyPOJO> tryFacets(String searchString){ //Here is where I am struggling SimpleFacetQuery query = new SimpleQuery(new SimpleStringCriteria(searchString)); query.setFacetOptions(new FacetOptions("zip")); //Not sure how to get the Pageable object. //But the repository doesnt accept without it. return solrTemplate.queryForPage(query,{Pageable Instance to be passed here}) } From my jUnit I am loading context files needed for Solr and Spring //In jUnit the test method looks like this service.tryFacets("some value"); and it fails with - method not found in the service class at the call to the repository method. *********EDIT**************** As per ChristophStrobl's advice created a copyfield called multivaluedCopyField and the searchString argument works good. But the facet still isnt working...Now my code looks like this. I get the MyPOJO object as response but the facetcount and the faceted values are missing. public interface MyRepository extends SolrCrudRepository<MyPOJO, String> { @Query(value = "*:*") @Facet(fields={"zip"}) public FacetPage<MyPOJO> findByQueryandAnno(String searchTerm,Pageable page); } My service class looks like public class MyService { @Inject MyRepository solrRepo; public FacetPage<MyPOJO> tryFacets(String searchString){ //Here is where I am struggling SimpleFacetQuery query = new SimpleQuery(new SimpleStringCriteria(searchString)).setPageRequest new PageRequest(0,5)); query.setFacetOptions(new FacetOptions("zip")); FacetPage<MyPOJO> facetedPOJO= solrRepo.findByQueryandAnno(searchString,query.getPageRequest()); return facetedPOJO; } My jUnit method call is like service.tryFacets("some value");

  • Best way to detect duplicates when using Spring Hibernate Template

    - by Dean Povey
    We have an application which needs to detect duplicates in certain fields on create. We are using Hibernate as our persistence layer and using Spring's HibernateTemplate. My question is whether it is better to do so an upfront lookup for the item before creating, or to attempt to catch the DataIntegrityViolation exception and then check if this is caused by a duplicate entry.

  • ModelMap usage in Spring

    - by Anna
    What are the benifits of using ModelMap instead of a simple Map in Spring MVC. I see in the code implementation that they put the datatype of the attribute added in the map as key instead to be made available on the form. Can anyone explain with an example.

  • Spring Security User

    - by DD
    What is best practise in Spring when creating a new user with custom attributes...to extend org.springframework.security.core.userdetails.User or to create the User in the UserDetailsService (this is the approach taken in the IceFaces tutorial). public UserDetails loadUserByUsername(String username) throws UsernameNotFoundException, DataAccessException { AppUser user = userDAO.findUser(username); if (user == null) throw new UsernameNotFoundException("User not found: " + username); else { return makeUser(user); } } private User makeUser(AppUser user) { return new User(user.getLogin(), user .getPassword(), true, true, true, true, makeGrantedAuthorities(user)); }
