• Mercurial client error 255 and HTTP error 404 when attempting to push large files to server

  Problem: When attempting to push a changeset that contains 6 large files (.exe, .dmg, etc) to my remote server my client (MacHG) is reporting the error: "Error During Push. Mercurial reported error number 255: abort: HTTP Error 404: Not Found" What does the error even mean?! The only thing unique (that I can tell) about this commit is the size, type, and filenames of the files. How can I determine which exact file within the changeset is failing? How can I delete the corrupt changeset from the repository? Someone reported using "mq" extensions, but it looks overly complicated for what I'm trying to achieve. Background: I can push and pull the following: source files, directories, .class files and a .jar file to and from the server, using both MacHG and toirtoise HG. I successfully committed to my local repository the addition for the first time the 6 large .exe, .dmg etc installer files (about 130Mb total). In the following commit to my local repository, I removed ("untracked" / forget) the 6 files causing the problem, however the previous (failing) changeset is still queued to be pushed to the server (i.e. my local host is trying to push the "add" and then the "remove" to the remote server - and keep aligned with the "keep everything in history" philosophy of the source control system). I can commit .txt .java files etc using TortoiseHG from Windows PCs. I haven't actually testing committing or pushing the same large files using TortoiseHG. Please help! Setup: Client applications = MacHG v0.9.7 (SCM 1.5.4), and TortoiseHG v1.0.4 (SCM 1.5.4) Server = HTTPS, IIS7.5, Mercurial 1.5.4, Python 2.6.5, setup using these instructions: http://www.jeremyskinner.co.uk/mercurial-on-iis7/ In IIS7.5 the CGI handler is configured to handle ALL verbs (not just GET, POST and HEAD). • Load ActiveX DLL in Internet Explorer with elevated privileges

  I have an ActiveX control that I'm loading with JavaScript in Internet Explorer. It needs to run as medium integrity under UAC in Vista and Win7. This is written in C/C++, compiled in Visual Studio. One way to elevate privileges is to create a broker process that can request a medium integrity level. However, for this project, this is not a practical solution. I really need the ActiveX control itself to run elevated. My question is: what's the easiest way to do this? Can I change the build options on the project to be an exe, and use the COM interprocess connect system to automatically handle the communications, or do I need to be more sophisticated? Do I need to do anything complicated like manually call CreateProcess and make some kind of broker, or can it just work as an ActiveX exe that elevates itself?

  Where does Internet Explorer store saved passwords? And since this is a programming site, i'm not literally asking for the location where IE stores passwords, but which API ie uses to save passwords. At first i assumed that Microsoft was using the standard api: CredRead CredWrite which is used to save domain and generic program/web-site credentials. CredRead/CredWrite turn around and use CryptProtectData CryptUnprotectData to encrypt data with the current user's account. CredRead/CredWrite then store the data in some magical location, which contents you can see from the control panel: But i don't see IE passwords in there. So ie doesn't store passwords using CredRead/CredWrite. What api does IE use to store passwords, and if it uses CryptProtectData, where does it then store the protected data?

• umbraco tiny MCE 3 internet explorer insert link error

  Hi, I have an instalation of Umbraco 4.0.2.1. In internet explorer (6 / 7) i get an error when trying to insert a link using the tiny MCE rich text editor. basicaly what happens is i can choose the node in the site i want to link to but when i click insert it reloads but the tiny MCE popup does not dissapear and i get the following page error. Line: 368 Char: 9 Error: 'the Form._SCROLLPOSITIONX.value' is null or not an object code: 0 URL: "mydev server"/umbraco/plugins/tinymce3/insertLink.aspx I dont get this problem in Firefox and i have other instalations of umbraco 4.0.2.1 in which this error does not occur. I have tried using WinMerge to comparing the code of the two instalations and they seem identical in all the places i can think would have an effect on tinyMCE ("bin", "umbraco_client\tinymce3", "umbraco\plugins\tinymce3") I am pulling my hair out over this and any help would be very much appreciated.

  I have a security certificate linked to a CDN's server. The main website is https:www.connect4fitness.com When I pull the site up in firefox or chrome, everything works fine. But in IE I get the following error: "Internet Explorer blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors." On IE 9 it shows the button "Display Content" and you can get past the error by clicking on the button. On older versions on I the error message is much more cryptic and is confusing users. Please note that I don't have the option of asking end users to add the site to Trusted Sources as some folks use the site from their work computers and do not have that access. Also, some people don't bother to call once they hit the error. I have looked at the content and all my links are "https" only. I had one namespace link and I got rid of it. Any idea about how I can find what is triggering this message?

  hi I am using Android 2.2 . I am unable to connect my emulator to internet . When I open my web browser in the emulator it shows the message "Web Page not available" . I have set proxy settings in the emulator (settings - Wireless & Networks -Mobile Networks - Access Point Names). Also , I set proxy settings in eclipse (Windows- Preferences- Android- Launch- Default Emulator Options). • Internet Explorer generates extra br

  I have an issue where Internet Explorer is generating an additional br element that is not in my source. The additional br effects the page's layout and is visible when using the developer tool. I've tried removing all hard returns between the surrounding elements but the additional br persists. Firefox and Chrome do not have this issue. Ideas on what I can do to fix the issue?   I love microsoft development products! I hate microsoft browsers... I have made the decision to cut ties with internet explorer until they add support for some common W3 approved items. Namely 'multiple' in forms as well as about 5 other things... and as such I would like to urge my visitors to use a better browser. is there a way to setup an http handler or perhaps something in the asax file to route all ie users to a custom page?   As detailed elsewhere, and otherwise apparently well-known, Internet Explorer (definitely 7, and in some instances, 8) do not implement key functions, in particular on Array (such as forEach, indexOf, etc). There are a number of workarounds here and there, but I'd like to fold a proper, canonical set of implementations into our site rather than copy and paste or hack away at our own implementations. I've found js-methods, which looks promising, but thought I'd post here to see whether another library comes more highly-recommended. A couple of misc. criteria: the lib should just be a no-op for those functions that a browser already has implementations for (js-methods appears to do quite well here) non-GPL, please, though LGPL is acceptable

For example, how would you make an application where one host application sets up a thing where it has an IP and a port, and another computer that has access to the internet as well can type in the IP and port and it would be able to communicate with the host? I mean simple communication, like sending a boolean or String. And would there be any security problems that would be needed to fix?

  Hi everybody. I'm looking for a way to deploy an Internet Explorer plugin for SVG-rendering without manually installing it on every client machine. Is there a way to use some ActiveX voodoo stuff to automatically install a plugin? I have no reliable information about the IE versions that are used on the client side so I assume the worst: IE6. To make things even harder, the users probably don't have administrator privileges on the client machines. The whole thing happens in an enclosed local network, so security considerations are entirely secondary. It also does not really matter which actual plugin it will be, anything that can render SVG and run Javascript on it will do just fine. I can't think of anything to make this work so I'm desperate for help here...

  Hey, all. I'm doing my own syntax highlighter for Javascript and CSS, and I've run into an issue with Internet Explorer (big surprise). I grab all the contents of a code.block tag (example below) using innerHTML, and .split("\n") that result to get each line by itself. This works wonderfully except in IE. I have tried using innerText and .split("\r\n") also without success. Can anyone recommend a solution?   I built a site and I'm just about finished. It displays properly in all the browsers I have (Safari, Chrome, and Firefox) but my client is not computer savvy at all and still uses Internet Explorer, so that's all he's using to view the site. I don't have IE to test the site so I've been using BrowserStack.com and I see in IE that the site is broken. The navigation bar has a white background and is pushed down a line, and the logo isn't appearing. • Can't copy files with 'additional permissions' to ext4 drive -- files that have @ after permissions,

  I am copying files from Snow Leopard to a mounted ext4 share via Samba, that's on a Fedora machine. Some files cannot be copied, and give this error: The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access some of the items. I've noticed that the files that can't be copied have an @ at the end of their permissions whien I do 'ls -l' in the command line. For example, I can copy the second file but not the first: -rwxrwxrwx@ 1 miles staff 1448 May 14 22:55 test.txt -rw-r--r-- 1 miles staff 136 Apr 5 17:06 image.psd.zip From what I've found, the @ means the file has 'additional properties'. Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue so I can copy the files to the fileshare?? Thanks!

  I've been searching and searching and I haven't yet come up with a solution to host my own streaming audio player. I'm looking for a way to host an internet radio player that connects to whatever streams I enter in and plays them. I'm not looking to play my MP3s or anything like that. I'm looking to play content from 181.fm or 1Club.fm, for example. I'd even settle for ShoutCast-only streams. I've been to www.wavestreaming.com but it didnt work for me. I'm guessing its because in the very first box where you enter your website url, it leads in for you: http//www. then you fill in the rest. My site is https:// and does not contain a www. in the URL. I'm guessing that has something to do with it. Any links, suggestions for search topics, or even a brief technical overview of what I should be looking into would be greatly appreciated.
