Readme file says, we have to do this to insert ztemt.ko in kernel.

• Cold Start

  Well we had snow drifts 3ft deep on Saturday so it must be spring time.  In preparation for Spring we decided to move the lawn tractor.  Of course after sitting in the garage all winter it refused to start.  I then come into the office and need to start my 11g SOA Suite installation.  I thought about this and decided my tractor might be cranky but at least I can script the startup of my SOA Suite 11g installation. So with this in mind I created 6 scripts.  I created them for Linux but they should translate to Windows without too many problems.  This is left as an exercise to the reader, note you will have to hardcode more than I did in the Linux scripts and create separate script files for the sqlplus and WLST sections. Order to start things I believe there should be order in all things, especially starting the SOA Suite.  So here is my preferred order. Start Database This is need by EM and the rest of SOA Suite so best to start it before the Admin Server and managed servers. Start Node Manager on all machines This is needed if you want the scripts to work across machines. Start Admin Server Once this is done in theory you can manually stat the managed servers using WebLogic console.  But then you have to wait for console to be available.  Scripting it all is quicker and easier way of starting. Start Managed Servers & Clusters Best to start them one per physical machine at a time to avoid undue load on the machines.  Non-clustered install will have just soa_server1 and bam_serv1 by default.  Clusters will have at least SOA and BAM clusters that can be started as a group or individually.  I have provided scripts for standalone servers, but easy to change them to work with clusters. • DNS Problems (NIGHTMARES!) with BIND and Virtualmin

  I have a webserver (Ubuntu 12.04 with LAMP) using Virtualmin / Webmin. Because I just moved from a Cpanel system, I am having a nightmare configuring the DNS! Using intoDNS.com, the failed reports are: Mismatched NS records WARNING: One or more of your nameservers did not return any of your NS records. DNS servers responded ERROR: One or more of your nameservers did not respond: The ones that did not respond are: 123.123.123.123 213.251.188.141x Multiple Nameservers ERROR: Looks like you have less than 2 nameservers. According to RFC2182 section 5 you must have at least 3 nameservers, and no more than 7. Having 2 nameservers is also ok by me. Missing nameservers reported by your nameserver You should already know that your NS records at your nameservers are missing, so here it is again: ns1.mydomain.com. sdns2.ovh.net. SOA record No valid SOA record came back! MX Records WWW A Record ERROR: I could not get any A records for www.mydomain.com! Step-by-Step of my Attempt In my domain registrar (Namecheap), I registered ns1.mydomain.com as a nameserver, pointing to the IP address of my web server which is running bind9. The domain is setup with DNS ns1.mydomain.com and sdns2.ovh.net. sdns2.ovh.net is a secondary DNS server (SLAVE and pointing mydomain.com to the IP address of my web server) Webserver domain: mydomain.com Webserver hostname: ns4000000.ip-123-123-123.net Webserver IP: 123.123.123.123 Under Virtualmin, I edited the default Virtual server template, BIND DNS records for new domains: ns1.mydomain.com Master DNS server hostname: ns1.mydomain.com Next I created a Virtual server using that server template.   I am testing a client application that authenticates using RSA SecurID hardware tokens. The authentication is failing and I am not finding any useful information in the log files. I am using Authentication Manager 8.0 and the Java SDK. I have a traffic capture which I would like to analyze with Wireshark to and from port 5500 on the authentication agent. But I can't find the packet format searching the internet or on the the RSA SecurCare knowledge base. Can anybody direct me to the packet format? • Trying to configure HWIC-3G-HSPA

  I'm trying to configure a couple of Cisco 1941 routes. The are both identical routers. Each as a HWIC-1T (Smart Serial interface) and a HWIC-3G-HSPA 3G interface. These routers are to be sent to remote sites. We have connectivity to one of the sites but if remote site A gors down we lose connectivity to remote site B. The HWIC-1T is the primary WAN interface using frame relay joining the two remote sites We want the HWIC-3G-HSPA to be usable for direct connectivity from head office to remote site B, and also the HWIC-3G-HSPA is do be used for comms between the remote sites when the frame relay is down (happens quite a bit). I initialy tried to do dynamic routing using EIGRP however in my lab setup of laptop - 1941 - 1941 - laptop, I was unable to get end to end connectivity. I later settled on static routing and have got end to end connectivity but only over frame relay, not the HWIC-3G-HSPA. I've tried using kron to ping the local HWIC-3G-HSPA interface (cellular 0/1/0) every minute but that hasn't been successful. Manually pinging the IP assigned (by the telco) to ce0/1/0 does bring the interface up. Any ideas? Thanks

• Can't Deploy or Upload Large SSRS 2008 Report from VS or IE

  So far in this project I have two reports in VS2008/BIDS. The first one contains 1 tablix and is about 100k. The second one contains 3 tablixes (tablices?) and is about 257k. I can successfully deploy the smaller report from VS and I can upload it from the Report Manager in IE. I can view/run it from Report Manager and I can get to the Report Server (web service) URL from my browser just fine. Everything is done over HTTPS and there is nothing wrong with the certificates. With the larger report, the error I get in VS is "The operation has timed out" after about 100 seconds. The error when I upload from IE is "The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send" after about 130 seconds. In the RSReportServer.config file I tried changing Authentication/EnableAuthPersistence from true to false and restarting the service, but still get the error. I have the key "SecureConnectionLevel" set to 2. Changing this to 0 and turning off SSL is not going to be an option. I added a registry key named "MaxRequestBytes" to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTP\Parameters and set it to 5242880 (5MB) and restarted the HTTP and SRS services as suggested in a forum post by Jin Chen of MSFT. I still cannot upload the larger report. This is on MS SQL 2008 and WS 2003. • How can I stop SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 going to sleep?

  I have SSRS 2008 set-up on a server. All works fine except that if left inactive for a length of time the next time a request is made to the server it takes a long time for it to service it. I think this is to do with the worker process being shutdown after being idle for a certain length of time. However, as SSRS 2008 isn't managed through IIS I can't find any settings that I can adjust to stop this from happening. In IIS I'd go to the Performance tab of the Application Pool Properties and choose not to shutdown the worker process. How can I do this for SSRS 2008?

• Myfaces extensionfilter overriding renderkit? (Tree2 component)

  I've pulled in the tree2 component (from Tomahawk 1.1.9). Had used the simpler Tree component on previous projects, and this one just looks a bit nicer. Running on websphere 6.1.x and set the server side flag that's needed (com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.invokefilterscompatibility=true) and set the extensionfilter accordingly. Everything's good, and works as expected. Here's the issue: - on a page being included on this one (just some typical footer type info with NO myfaces widgets), there's some embedded html that's getting flagged with warnings in the systemout console). These look like org.apache.myfaces.renderkit.html.util.ReducedHTMLParser parse Invalid tag found: unexpected input while looking for attr name or '/' at line 475. Surroundings: 'span id="tile:footr:viewFragm'. org.apache.myfaces.renderkit.html.util.ReducedHTMLParser parse Invalid tag found: unexpected input while looking for attr name or '/' at line 479. Surroundings: 'a id="tile:footr:viewFragment'. org.apache.myfaces.renderkit.html.util.ReducedHTMLParser parse Invalid tag found: unexpected input while looking for attr name or '/' at line 492. Surroundings: 'a id="tile:footr:viewFragment'. The problem isn't necessarily with the html (which should be cleaned up regardless :-). IF I don't include myfaces, I don't get these warning messages with the default ibm jsf renderer (using jsf 1.1 still). Obviously, IBM's implementation is a bit more lax than myFaces. The page has nothing to do with myfaces at all. The reason for needing the extension filter is that it needs (for the Tree2 anyways, I know it does more for file upload) to intercept requests and then stick some .js includes on the page. Investigated this a bit, and I've included this filter in my web.xml, but it is NO longer fronting the faces servlet. So, the filter is instantiated at startup, but is never executed. Since the filter isn't in place, I've had to hard code in the includes for the 2 .js files into my page Now, the tree2 gets rendered properly, AND I'm not getting the warnings from above, because with the extentionfilter not being called, its using the IBM renderkit ;-) I'm a bit concerned that when the extension filter is in place, everything is being rendered by myFaces, rather than IBM's renderkit (i.e. All I want is myfaces/tomahawk to render the tree2 only, and let the ri do everything else) Can anyone confirm this? When you use myfaces/tomahawk, is it doing all the rendering for the whole application, or just the page any tomahawk widget is on? Thanks for any thoughts on this mike

• Weblogic server 10.0 - Managed Server shutting down

  We have a weblogic server 10.0 instance which has a cluster with one managed server. Every Monday at 5am (or few seconds after), it shuts down on its own. The logs do not show any errors except the following message: JVM called WLS shutdown hook. The server will force shutdown now. JVM has a -Xnohup option and using JRockit. There is no cron job on the server. I am not sure how to debug this one. Admin Server keeps running with no issues and I am able to start the managed server back up with no problems. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

• PHP max_execution_time not timing out

  This is not one of the regular questions if sleep is counted for timeout or stuff like that. Ok, here's the problem: I've set the max_execution_time for PHP as 15 seconds and ideally this should time out when it crosses the set limit, but it doesn't. Apache has been restarted after the change to the php.ini file and an ini_get('max_execution_time') is all fine. Sometimes the script runs for upto 200 seconds which is crazy. I have no database communication whatsoever. All the script does is looking for files on the unix filesystem and in some cases re-directing to another JSP page. There is no sleep() on the script. I calculate the total execution time of the PHP script like this: At the start of the script I set : $_mtime = microtime(); $_mtime = explode(" ",$_mtime); $_mtime = $_mtime[1] + $_mtime[0]; $_gStartTime = $_mtime; and the end time($_gEndTime) is calculated similarly. The total time is calculated in a shutdown function that I've registered: register_shutdown_function('shutdown'); ............. function shutdown() { .............. .............. $_total_time = $_gEndTime - $_gStartTime; .............. switch (connection_status ()) { case CONNECTION_NORMAL: .... break; .... case CONNECTION_TIMEOUT: .... break; ...... } } Note: I cannot use $_SERVER['REQUEST_TIME'] because my PHP version is incompatible. That sucks - I know. 1) Well, my first question obviously is is why is my PHP script executing even after the set timeout limit? 2) Apache has the Timeout directive which is 300 seconds but the PHP binary does not read the Apache config and this should not be a problem. 3) Is there a possibility that something is sending PHP into a sleep mode? 4) Am I calculating the execution time in a wrong way? Is there a better way to do this? I'm stumped at this point. PHP Wizards - please help.

  I have a method which can be written pretty neatly through method chaining: return viewer.ServerReport.GetParameters() .Single(p => p.Name == Convention.Ssrs.RegionParamName) .ValidValues .Select(v => v.Value); However I'd like to be able to do some checks at each point as I wish to provide helpful diagnostics information if any of the chained methods returns unexpected results. To achieve this, I need to break up all my chaining and follow each call with an if block. It makes the code a lot less readable. Ideally I'd like to be able to weave in some chained method calls which would allow me to handle unexpected outcomes at each point (e.g. throw a meaningful exception such as new ConventionException("The report contains no parameter") if the first method returns an empty collection). Can anyone suggest a simple way to achieve such a thing?

• When is a scala partial function not a partial function?

  While creating a map of String to partial functions I ran into unexpected behavior. When I create a partial function as a map element it works fine. When I allocate to a val it invokes instead. Trying to invoke the check generates an error. Is this expected? Am I doing something dumb? Comment out the check() to see the invocation.   Hi All, I have an application and from this application I have to start another process by shutting down the current application and after the completion of the process again start the application. The flow is as follows, suppose I have an application app.exe, and another application another.exe, so i have to do following: 1) Start app.exe 2) Stop/shutdown app.exe and start another.exe from app.exe 3) When another.exe completes, stop/shutdown another.exe and start app.exe from another.exe Anyone please provide me some clue of how to do it ? • Keeping asp.net mvc site IIS6 always ready to accept requests

  I have asp.net mvc intranet site that is deployed to IIS6. Site is used rarely so app pool tends to shutdown. When user click the page for the very first time 5-10 seconds are passed till page appears (app pool started and site is compiled). Situation repeats for the next page and so on. AFAIK IIS7 has option to disable App pool shutdown but IIS6 lacks it. Nowadays i have special utility that pings site periodically (10 pages) in order to determine if pages are available and keeps site always ready for users this way. Is it normal or may be I've missed something in IIS6 configuration? Do you use such pinger apps in production to notify support/admins if site is not available? Thank you in advance!
