  • ListView items not clickable with HorizontalScrollView inside

    - by Felix
I have quite a complicated ListView. Each item looks something like this: > LinearLayout (vertical) > LinearLayout (horizontal) > include (horizontal LinearLayout with two TextViews) > include (ditto) > include (ditto) > TextView > HorizontalScrollView (this guy is my problem) > LinearLayout (horizontal) In my activity, when an item is created (getView() is called) I add dynamic TextViews to the LinearLayout inside the HorizontalScrollView (besides filling the other, simpler stuff out). Amazingly, performance is pretty good. My problem is that when I added the HorizontalScrollView, my list items became unclickable. They don't get the orange background when clicked and they don't fire the OnItemClickedListener I have set up (to do a simple Log.d call). How can I make my list items clickable again?

  • Android ListView style

    - by xger86x
Hi, I have a question about list views. I hope someone knows the solution, because I have been trying to solve this problem all weekend. I have a custom list view in which every row have a custom .xml (item_row.xml) with a set color background for the row item. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="70dip" android:orientation="vertical" android:background="@drawable/list_bg"> The problem is that when I try to make a selector for the list. I want two things: When the item is focused, the typical orange rectangle should appear over it, and the same When the item is pressed. I have proved with a selector and a custom style but all I get is or the selector doesn't appear or the selector covering the item so I can't see it. If anyone could help me with finding the right code I would be very grateful. Thanks

  • Resizing an image with stretchableImageWithLeftCapWidth

    - by Stephan Burlot
I'm trying to resize an image using stretchableImageWithLeftCapWidth: it works on the simulator, but on the device, vertical green bars appears. I've tried to use imageNamed, imageWithContentOfFile and imageWithData lo load the image, it doesnt change. UIImage *bottomImage = [[UIImage imageWithData: [NSData dataWithContentsOfFile: [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@/bottom_part.png", [[NSBundle mainBundle] resourcePath]]]] stretchableImageWithLeftCapWidth:27 topCapHeight:9]; UIImageView *bottomView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(10, 200+73, 100, 73)]; [self.view addSubview:bottomView]; UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(CGSizeMake(100, 73)); [bottomImage drawInRect:CGRectMake(0, 0, 100, 73)]; UIImage *bottomResizedImage = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); bottomView.image = bottomResizedImage; See the result: the green bars shouldn't be there, they dont appear on the simulator.

  • android: tablerow mixed with columns and multiline text

    - by Yang
    I am trying to have a tablelayout contains several tablerows. One of the rows contains 4 buttons, while the second row contains a very long text. However, the width of the button stretches with the text in the second row. Is there anyway to prevent this? http://img684.imageshack.us/i/tableview1.jpg/ http://img521.imageshack.us/i/tableview2.jpg/ Here is my xml file: (somehow this website is not friendly to xml file) AbsoluteLayout android:id="@+id/widget0" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" TableLayout android:id="@+id/widget28" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_x="0px" android:layout_y="10px" TableRow android:id="@+id/widget29" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="horizontal" Button android:id="@+id/widget30" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Button" Button android:id="@+id/widget31" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Button" Button android:id="@+id/widget32" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Button" Button android:id="@+id/widget33" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Button" TableRow android:id="@+id/widget35" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="horizontal" TextView android:id="@+id/widget40" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="TextViewTextViewTextViewTextViewTextViewTextView"

  • iText PdfPTables, document.add with writeSelectedRows

    - by J2SE31
I am currently modifying an existing system that generates reports with iText and java. The report template is as follows: Header1(PdfPTable) Header2(PdfPTable) Body(PdfPTable) I am currently using the writeSelectedRows to display Header1 and Header2, but document.add is used to display the Body. The problem is that the system is setup to write the headers AFTER the body has already been displayed on the screen, so I am displaying my headers on top of my body content. My question is how do I add my body table (using document.add) and have it display about halfway down the page (or any predetermined vertical position)? This way I would have sufficient room to display my headers above the body table. Note: I believe the body table is using document.add to facilitate automatic paging if the body content is too large.

  • Android TableRow RelativeLayout Issue

    - by phogel
I have the following <TableRow xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/admin_row" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:gravity="center_horizontal"> <RelativeLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:orientation="horizontal" android:background="@color/silver"> I dynamically populate the table but with the relative layout colored silver it only spans about 3/4 of the table row. If I put a LinearLayout with horizontal orientation it spans completely but if I change it to vertical the same problem occurs. I need a relative layout in the table row because I need to something like this: Value Detail MoreDetail. Any ideas on getting the relative layout to span the table row?

  • Android AppWidget TextView: How to set background color at run time

    - by Amit
I am trying to create an AppWidget, in which the background color of a TextView changes at random at specified periodic interval. The TextView is defined in layout xml file as <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/widget" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="vertical" > <TextView android:id="@+id/message" android:background="#ff99ff" android:text="Hello Widget" /> </LinearLayout> In update method, i have loaded the layout as RemoteViews remoteView=new RemoteViews(context.getPackageName(),R.layout.widget_message); To change the background of TextView i used the following statement remoteView.setInt(R.id.message, "setBackgroundResource", R.color.col_1); But i am getting a widget saying problem loading widget. If i remove the above line everything works fine. LogCat says: updateAppWidget couldn't find any view, using error view android.widget.RemoteViews$ActionException: view: android.widget.TextView can't use method with RemoteViews: setBackgroundResource(int)

  • Android: how to hide and then show View with animation effect?

    - by tomash
I have similar question like this one: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2079074/update-layout-with-the-animation Basically: I have one vertical LinearLayout View with edittext, button and then list. I'd like to hide exittext after pressing button to make more space for list (button will go up). On second press edittext should be visible again. Edittext and button have "wrap_content" height. I'd like to hide and show edittext with animation. I succeeded to animate hiding by overloading Animation's applyTransformation: final float edittextheight= edittext.getHeight(); [....] @Override protected void applyTransformation(float interpolatedTime, Transformation t) { super.applyTransformation(interpolatedTime, t); android.view.ViewGroup.LayoutParams lp = edittext.getLayoutParams(); lp.height = (int)(edittextheight*(1.0-interpolatedTime)); edittext.setLayoutParams(lp); } Problem: I don't know how to calculate height to animate showing - edittext.getHeight(); returns 0 when widget is hidden and in layout definition I'm using "wrap_content". Help?

  • Horizontal UITableView

    - by imran
I want implement a layout in my ipad application that has a uitable view that scrolls left and right rather then up and down : So rather than row 1 row 2 row 3 ( scrolling vertically ) It would be : row 1, row2, row 3 (scrolling horizontally ) I've seen that UItableView is designed to only do vertical scrolling so doing a transform does not give the desired effect. Is there a standard way to do this taking advantage of a datasource provider like uitableview provides? I basically want to do somthing similar to what the BBC News reader app ( http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bbc-news/id364147881?mt=8 ) on the Ipad does with the list of stories to select from. Thanks

  • Button layed out using layout_toLeftOf in a RelativeLayout does not show up

    - by rodion
Hello all, I am trying to layout a Button to the left of a TextView that is centered on the screen. My layout looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="vertical" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:gravity="center"> <TextView android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="foo" android:id="@+id/center" /> <Button android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="Left button" android:layout_toLeftOf="@id/center" /> </RelativeLayout> Unfortunately, the button just does not appear. I get the following result: As you see, the button doesn't show up. It works if I use layout_toRightOf, then the button appears to the right of the TextView, just as expected. Any ideas what I am doing wrong here?

  • jQuery slideToggle flicker in Firefox

    - by Stepppo
I have a specific situation with slideToggle that creates a flicker in Firefox. The situation was when the expanding element goes longer than the page and a vertical scrollbar appears in Firefox. If you scroll down to read all of the text in the expanding element and then click on the trigger to close the element, Firefox would flash for a second and then the page readjusts and returns to its position before the expanded element was expanded. I have tried adding ‘return false;’ to no avail. Here's a test page where you can see the effect in FF when you click to close the last item (Herbal Teas): http://pollak-labs.com/clients/birthyourself/?page_id=21

  • alternative to visibility:collapse not working on IE and Chrome

    - by tic
The following page: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <STYLE type="text/css"> tr.cccc { visibility: collapse; } </STYLE> <BODY> <TABLE border="1"> <TR class="cccc"> <TD>one</TD> </TR> </TABLE> </BODY> </HTML> works only in Firefox. IE always displays the row, and Chrome hides the row but showing its vertical space. So, how can I hide completely a row using only CSS? Thanks.

Hi, I have a Microsoft Notepad flate file with data and Vertical Bar as column delimiter. I get following message: cannot convert between unicode and non-unicode string data types It seems it is my nvarchar(max) that creates my problem. I changed to varchar(max); but still the same problem. And in the SQL Server 2005 import and export wizard the flate file source advanced tab the OutputColumnWith is 50. Will that say my flate file column is max 50? I hope not because my column is more then 50... Thank you, Rune

  • How to develop screen resolution independent smart device application in C#?

    - by Shailesh Jaiswal
I am developing smart device application in C#. I am developing this application for 240*320 screen resolution. I want to make this application screen resolution independent so that it can run on different mobile devices with different screen resolutions. Currently I am testing my application on different emulators for platform- Pocket PC 2003, Windows mobile 6 standard SDK & Windows Mobile 6 professional SDK . When I run the application on emulator for 240*320 screen resolution or less than that it works well ( only it provide the horizontal & vertical scrall bar in case of resolution less tha 240*320). If I run my application on emulator with more than 240*320 screen resolution its User Inferface gets badly affected. How to make the smart device application screen resolution independent ? Can you provide me the code or link through which i can resolve the above issue? Is there any setting for making the application screen resolution independent?

  • Using SimpleModal (jQuery plugin) to display a popup iFrame without unnecessary scrollbars

    - by Alex Black
I'm using SimpleModal: http://www.ericmmartin.com/projects/simplemodal/ And displaying an iframe, as per the example: // Display an external page using an iframe var src = "http://365.ericmmartin.com/"; $.modal('<iframe src="' + src + '" height="450" width="830" style="border:0">', { closeHTML:"", containerCss:{ backgroundColor:"#fff", borderColor:"#fff", height:450, padding:0, width:830 }, overlayClose:true }); And the popup has two sets of scrollbars, one perhaps for the HTML element representing the popup, and one for the iFrame. Try the demo to see. Ideally I'd like no scrollbars if the content fits, otherwise a single vertical scrollbar. Any ideas? Thanks! Alex

  • jQuery datepicker causes page overflow

    - by nc3b
I am using the datepicker control from jQuery-ui 1.8. from-date is a text input. I am attaching a very simple datepicker: $('#from-date').datepicker(); This causes the page to overflow (vertical scrollbar), which I am trying to avoid. As soon as I click the from-date, the datepicker control appears, and the scrollbar dissapears. After dismissing the datepicker, the scrollbar doesn't appear anymore. The text field is inside a div that has overflow:auto and a fixed height and width. I suspect it's a z-index issue. What am I doing wrong ? How would I debug this ?

But, if I try to scroll back up to re-read a message, it forces a scroll down. How can I fix this?

  • Why isn't TextBox.Text in WPF animatable?

    - by cplotts
Ok, I have just run into something that is really catching me off-guard. I was helping a fellow developer with a couple of unrelated questions and in his project he was animating text into some TextBlock(s). So, I went back to my desk and recreated the project (in order to answer his questions), but I accidentally used TextBox instead of TextBlock. My text wasn't animating at all! (A lot of help, I was!) Eventually, I figured out that his xaml was using TextBlock and mine was using TextBox. What is interesting, is that Blend wasn't creating key frames when I was using TextBox. So, I got it to work in Blend using TextBlock(s) and then modified the xaml by hand, converting the TextBlock(s) into TextBox(es). When I ran the project, I got the following error: InvalidOperationException: '(0)' Storyboard.TargetProperty path contains nonanimatable property 'Text'. Well, it seems as if Blend was smart enough to know that ... and not generate the key frames in the animation (it would just modify the value directly on the TextBox). +1 for Blend. So, the question became: why isn't TextBox.Text animatable? The usual answer is that the particular property you are animating isn't a DependencyProperty. But, this isn't the case, TextBox.Text is a DependencyProperty. So, now I am bewildered! Why can't you animate TextBox.Text? Let me include some xaml to illustrate the problem. The following xaml works ... but uses TextBlock(s). <Window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" x:Class="TextBoxTextQuestion.MainWindow" x:Name="Window" Title="MainWindow" Width="640" Height="480" > <Window.Resources> <Storyboard x:Key="animateTextStoryboard"> <StringAnimationUsingKeyFrames Storyboard.TargetProperty="(TextBlock.Text)" Storyboard.TargetName="textControl"> <DiscreteStringKeyFrame KeyTime="0:0:1" Value="Goodbye"/> </StringAnimationUsingKeyFrames> </Storyboard> </Window.Resources> <Window.Triggers> <EventTrigger RoutedEvent="FrameworkElement.Loaded"> <BeginStoryboard Storyboard="{StaticResource animateTextStoryboard}"/> </EventTrigger> </Window.Triggers> <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot"> <StackPanel Orientation="Vertical" HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center"> <TextBlock x:Name="textControl" Text="Hello" FontFamily="Calibri" FontSize="32"/> <TextBlock Text="World!" Margin="0,25,0,0" FontFamily="Calibri" FontSize="32"/> </StackPanel> </Grid> </Window> The following xaml does not work and uses TextBox.Text: <Window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" x:Class="TextBoxTextQuestion.MainWindow" x:Name="Window" Title="MainWindow" Width="640" Height="480" > <Window.Resources> <Storyboard x:Key="animateTextStoryboard"> <StringAnimationUsingKeyFrames Storyboard.TargetProperty="(TextBox.Text)" Storyboard.TargetName="textControl"> <DiscreteStringKeyFrame KeyTime="0:0:1" Value="Goodbye"/> </StringAnimationUsingKeyFrames> </Storyboard> </Window.Resources> <Window.Triggers> <EventTrigger RoutedEvent="FrameworkElement.Loaded"> <BeginStoryboard Storyboard="{StaticResource animateTextStoryboard}"/> </EventTrigger> </Window.Triggers> <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot"> <StackPanel Orientation="Vertical" HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center"> <TextBox x:Name="textControl" Text="Hello" FontFamily="Calibri" FontSize="32"/> <TextBox Text="World!" • Intercept UITableView scroll touches

    - by Jonesy
Is it possible to control when the UITableView scrolls in my own code. I am trying to get behaviour where a vertical swipe scrolls and a horizontal swipe gets passed through to my code (of which there are many example) BUT I want a DIAGONAL swipe to do nothing, i.e the UITableView should not even begin scrolling. I tried catching it in here - (void)scrollViewWillBeginDragging:(UIScrollView *)scrollView but the scrollView.contentOffset.x is always 0 so I cannot detect a horizontal movement. I also tried subclassing UITableView and implementing - (void)touchesMoved:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event - (UIView *)hitTest:(CGPoint)point withEvent:(UIEvent *)event etc.. but the UITableView (and I guess it's parent UIScrollView) start to scroll before the touches are notified? To re-iterate, I want the UITableView scrolling to be locked if a diagonal swipe is made, but to scroll vertically normally. (This behaviour can be seen in Tweetie(Twitter) for the iPhone) Thanks for any help!

  • Why Does .Hide()ing and .Show()ing Panels in wxPython Result in the Sizer Changing the Layout?

    - by MetaHyperBolic
As referenced in my previous question, I am trying to make something slightly wizard-like in function. I have settled on a single frame with a sizer added to it. I build panels for each of the screens I would like users to see, add them to the frame's sizer, then switch between panels by .Hide()ing one panel, then calling a custom .ShowYourself() on the next panel. Obviously, I would like the buttons to remain in the same place as the user progresses through the process. I have linked together two panels in an infinite loop by their "Back" and "Next" buttons so you can see what is going on. The first panel looks great; tom10's code worked on that level, as it eschewed my initial, over-fancy attempt with borders flying every which way. And then the second panel seems to have shrunk down to the bare minimum. As we return to the first panel, the shrinkage has occurred here as well. Why does it look fine on the first panel, but not after I return there? Why is calling .Fit() necessary if I do not want a 10 pixel by 10 pixel wad of grey? And if it is necessary, why does .Fit() give inconsistent results? This infinite loop seems to characterize my experience with this: I fix the layout on a panel, only to find that switching ruins the layout for other panels. I fix that problem, by using sizer_h.Add(self.panel1, 0) instead of sizer_h.Add(self.panel1, 1, wx.EXPAND), and now my layouts are off again. So far, my "solution" is to add a mastersizer.SetMinSize((475, 592)) to each panel's master sizer (commented out in the code below). This is a cruddy solution because 1) I have had to find the numbers that work by trial and error (-5 pixels for the width, -28 pixels for the height). 2) I don't understand why the underlying issue still happens. What's the correct, non-ugly solution? Instead of adding all of the panels to the frame's sizer at once, should switching panels involve .Detach()ing that panel from the frame's sizer and then .Add()ing the next panel to the frame's sizer? Is there a .JustMakeThisFillThePanel() method hiding somewhere I have missed in both the wxWidgets and the wxPython documents online? I'm obviously missing something in my mental model of layout. Here's a TinyURL link, if I can't manage to embed the . Minimalist code pasted below. import wx import sys class My_App(wx.App): def OnInit(self): self.frame = My_Frame(None) self.frame.Show() self.SetTopWindow(self.frame) return True def OnExit(self): print 'Dying ...' class My_Frame(wx.Frame): def __init__(self, image, parent=None,id=-1, title='Generic Title', pos=wx.DefaultPosition, style=wx.CAPTION | wx.STAY_ON_TOP): size = (480, 620) wx.Frame.__init__(self, parent, id, 'Program Title', pos, size, style) sizer_h = wx.BoxSizer(wx.HORIZONTAL) self.panel0 = User_Interaction0(self) sizer_h.Add(self.panel0, 1, wx.EXPAND) self.panel1 = User_Interaction1(self) sizer_h.Add(self.panel1, 1, wx.EXPAND) self.SetSizer(sizer_h) self.panel0.ShowYourself() def ShutDown(self): self.Destroy() class User_Interaction0(wx.Panel): def __init__(self, parent, id=-1): wx.Panel.__init__(self, parent, id) # • WTL CSplitterWindow cannot create more than 3 instances?

    - by Zach
    Hello all, I'm using WTL to create a window containing many splitted panes. The following will be the result. --------------------------- | | | | | | | | | | | | | |-------------------- | | | | | | | | --------------------------- There will be 4 splitters, three vertical ones and a horizontal one. I followed the great article : http://www.codeproject.com/KB/wtl/wtl4mfc7.aspx. But I only can add 3 splitters as below. --------------------------- | | | | | | | | | | | | | |-------------------- | | | | | | --------------------------- I tried a lot of ways but still cannot add the last one. Is is a bug of WTL? Can anybody help me? Best regards, Zach@Shine
