Hello
I Windows 7 and so can you rotate your desktop 90, 270 degrees. Is there any way to do this in Windows Server 2008 R2 i did find some software that works with 2003 servers...
Thanks
Hey all
I'm running XP Pro SP3 on a Late 2007-era 2.2Ghz Macbook.
Unfortunately, it's recently started giving me a Blue Screen of Death when I try to hibernate it.
It gives me the error "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL", and at the bottom says that it's in "hiber_atapi.sys". Most of the Googling I've done thus far turns up things referring to Windows Server 2003, which is obviously less than useful.
Anyone know any way to fix this short of a full re-install?
Every time I open MS Office or Excel (2003) on my machine, the Microsoft Live Add-in toolbar is there. I remove it manually, but it always comes back.
How do I remove it permanently?
We have several websites (with several public IP addresses) running on a web server. In IIS, the IP address are internal IP addresses (192.168.xxx.xxx). How do I figure out which public IP address matches which internal IP address? My goal is to change some public IP addresses. The particular web server is running IIS 6 on a Windows 2003 Server. Thanks, in advance, for your help!
I have a machine with Windows XP, Server 2003 R2, and Server 2008 R2.
Right now, bootmgr has one entry for Server 2008 R2 and one entry for ntldr, which then leads to the ntldr boot.ini menu.
Is it possible to add two different nt52 entries on two partitions so that I can access all three OSes from the bootmgr menu?
Right now, Server 2008 and XP are in logical drives on an extended partition, but (I assume) I can image them onto basic partitions if necessary.
I have MSMQ installed on two Windows XP computers. Can I configure them to pass messages back and forth, or do I need an MSMQ server in the middle?
If I need an MSMQ server, does the normal MSMQ with Win2003 able to act as that? And then, how do I connect my Windows XP to that Windows 2003 server? Is it a) On screen admin dialog in the MSMQ plug-in to MMC, b) a config file, c) Active Directory, d) something else?
Thanks,
Neal Walters
I need to deploy some trusted intranet sites into Intranet Zone in Internet Explorer. It works fine when using GPO at:
Setting Path: Computer
Configuration/Administrative
Templates/Windows Components/Internet
Explorer/Internet Control
Panel/Security
Page Supported On: At
least Internet Explorer 6.0 in Windows
XP Service Pack 2 or Windows Server
2003 Service Pack 1
Problem is this settings also affect other zones making it impossible for people in company to add sites to other zones themselves.
Is there a way to fix this so that Intranet Zone is deployed thru GPO and rest of settings stay in gesture of users?
We have a backup application that uses the Windows API BackupRead. It works correctly on Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008 R2. It does not work on Storage Server 2008 R2. It always fails with error 50 - The request is not supported. The documentation for BackupRead gives no indication that it will not work with Storage Server 2008 R2.
Anyone else have any experience using this API on Storage Server 2008 R2?
Using Outlook 2003, why do incoming email messages with single quote email addresses fail to copy to folders?
I use this method to back-up email before deleting it.
Hi,
I use Palm Treo 750 running Windows mobile 6.1. I don't have GPRS on my mobile. But, I have Broadband connection in my laptop running Windows Vista.
How can I use the PC's internet connection to browse from mobile (either USB or bluetooth)?
I have done this in one of my previous Windows mobiles (Smart Phone 2003 SE).
Thanks in advance guys.

We have a sever that shares all the printers. The PC's that are running on XP professional get a error message quoting (Connect to Printer). The only way I can find to get around the problem is by restating the printer and as soon is it comes online you can then add it but you have not got long. do you think it could be anything to-do with updates on the sever?
the sever system is running Windows Server 2003
any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
I have set up outlook 2003 to auto-start and hide to icon.
Now, every time I start my computer I see the Outlook splash screen, and this makes me thing that it slows OS to become "operational" after startup.

Hi, I have a windows server 2003 where I have to create a MAPI profile to read incoming emails of exchange 2007, using a custom utility.
I googled a lot and seems that there was a way to do it with newprof.exe utility but it is no longer available.
I don't have an outlook license so I need a free way to create MAPI profiles in this server.
Thanks.
David.
Hi.
We ghosted our old Windows 2003 drive to a new 1TB one, and connected through new PCI SATA card.
The server fails to boot with error 1962: Boot sector not found.
When we connect the drive directly to motherboard, it boots fine, so the problem is probably in getting BIOS boot from the SATA card.
Does anyone know how to do it?
Thanks.
I want to RDP to Windows 2003 servers, but if I use the default RDP client under Linux, I have only 16 or 256 colors, instead of the 16-bit colors. The display is also very slow.
What are the good RDP clients I can install on my server? This is a server on which I cannot install anything like VNC, or other remote access solutions. I have to stick to RDP.
On Windows Server 2008, is there an easy way to modify security permissions for multiple files at once (as with Windows Server 2003)? Right-click menu - properties does not provide a "Security" tab if more than one file/directory is selected (i.e. ctrl-click multiple files).
Is there really a valid security reason for changing this in Windows Server 2008?
I did this once. I can't recall how to do it anymore AND/OR it works differently in Windows 2008 than it did in Windows 2003. I recall it being an Exchange hosting feature.
I would like users to login with their email addresses instead of only with their domain name.
EXAMPLE:
User: John Doe
User logon name: [email protected]
User logon name (pre-Windows 2000): DOMAIN\jdoe
E-mail: [email protected]
I would like for jdoe to be able to login as [email protected]
How do I make a dump of a number of subversion repositories - with all repositories residing in one folder - on various operating systems (Linux shells, Windows 9x/Vista/XP/Server, etc.)?
I'll post an answer that works on Windows Server 2003 - but maybe there's a more elegant one for that, too.
(Additional background to the question here.)
I'm looking for a tool that will allow me to see all of the memory used by by Windows XP/2003 machine. I know that Process Explorer and others will show you what memory is being used by each process, but I need a full graphical view of all used and unused memory on my machine. I have seen an app that does this but cannot remember the name. Anyone know of a tool like this?
I have a Microsoft word 2003 document that contains a table. I have to edit the text in the header row of that table. However, I can't select it, nor select any text in these header cells.
Any idea how to 'unprotect' that table header row?
My client failed her PCI compliance audit. The server supports Remote Desktop (Terminal Service) but only provides encryption and not authentication. This exposes the server to Man-In-The-Middle attacks.
The supposed solution is to force SSL as the transport layer for RDP.
Anyone know how to do this?
The server runs Windows 2003.
