    Hi, I am having a little issue this piece of code in my Xsl. <xsl:if test="ShippingName != ''"> <tr> <td colspan="6" style="border:none;" align="right"> <strong>Shipping Via</strong> </td> <td align="right"> <xsl:value-of select="ShippingName" /> </td> </tr> </xsl:if> It passes the test condition (ShippingName != '') and assigns the style to 'td' but at the point where I am displaying the value that this element contains (), it displays nothing. Any ideas why this could be happening. Thanks.

    When you guys are unit testing an application that relies on values from an app.config file? How do you test that those values are read in correctly and how your program reacts to incorrect values entered into a config file? It would be ridiculous to have to modify the config file for the NUnit app, but I can't read in the values from the app.config I want to test. Edit: I think I should clarify perhaps. I'm not worried about the ConfigurationManager failing to read the values, but I am concerned with testing how my program reacts to the values read in.

My project source tree looks like somewhat like this test$~: tree . . |-- folder | |-- hello.cpp | `-- hello.h `-- main.cpp 1 directory, 3 files test$~: The file main.cpp contains the main() function and all the functions invoked by main.cpp lie in the directory named folder So far in all my little projects I never had to put some source code under a sub-directory. What I am looking for, in short, is some gcc command for recursive compilation in sub-directories and their subdirectories and so on... This command should be invoked from the home directory of the code project.

  • Custom annotations to configure tests

    First of al let me start off by saying I think custom annotations can be used for this but i'm not totally sure. I would like to have a set of annotations that I can decorate some test classes with. The annotations would allow me to configure the test for different environments. Example: public class Atest extends BaseTest{ private String env; @Login(environment=env) public void testLogin(){ //do something } @SignUp(environment=env) public void testSignUp(){ //do something } } The idea here would be that the login annotation would then be used to lookup the username and password to be used in the testLogin method for testing a login process for a particular environment. So my question(s) is this possible to do with annotations? If so I have not been able to find a decent howto online to do something like this. Everything out there seems to be your basic here's how to do your custom annotations and a basic processor but I haven't found anything for a situation like this. Ideas?

    This is a general type question that I dont know what code I could post that would help get an answer. So I apologize in advance, but if some piece of code would help, please let me know and Ill add it. The question is, how do I confirm that a pdf loaded in a web browser when using Ruby/Cucumber/Watir Webdriver? My test clicks on a random link that should load a pdf in a new browser window, so I cant check the url because it will vary with each test. Any ideas how I can make sure the correct pdf loads after clicking the link that should load it?

    Our organization is at CMMI Level 2, and as part of the requirements of the level, we have to maintain an RTM which more or less contains the following entries for each requirement: Requirement Description Reference Section Functional Specification Document Reference Section Design Document Reference Section Test Cases Document Now, this might be an overkill for a small project. But more importantly, this could be a nightmare to maintain when the requirements/ features keep changing, and documents have to be constantly updated. What do the gurus say about this? Should one avoid such level of documentation or are there any tools to manage when a "change" out dates so many artifacts? And by using the term 'gurus', I am not talking of coding champs; rather people like Steve McConnel or others who have worked on commercial projects of medium to large scale. Quotes/ book references/ articles will suit me. EDIT: It's not just requirements that change. Design Document can change; well, even test cases may change.

    Hi there, I have created a custom MembershipProvider class, so far so good, however, I am not sure how to read the configuration settings from the web.config file. I tried to search from Google and Stackoverflow, seems like someone also experiencing my problem and asked, but no answer has been given. It should be a simple thing, but I am very new in web development, so reading settings from web.config seems away too technical to me.     Regarding over-releasing. Say I have a instance variable defined in Test.h NSString *mystring; In my implementation Test.m I do not initialize the variable mystring anywhere. But I release it in dealloc: -(void)dealloc { [mystring release]; } Is this now over-released? I've been doing the following in dealloc to avoid any issues, however, is this really necessary? -(void)dealloc { if (mystring) [mystring release]; } It seems that [nil release] shouldn't do anything, can someone verify this with class members?

  • How do I add a VSTO project as a reference to a unit testing project?

    In order not to pollute my projects with unit tests, I like to create a separate project for my unit tests; I add a reference to the project under test in the unit tests project. However, this isn't working that well with my VSTO excel add-in projects: when I create a separate unit test project and go to Add Reference Projects, there is no project to pick. What I have done so far is Add Reference Browse, and pick the add-in dll from the debug folder. I have also run into issues from time to time with this, with the reference suddenly not working, requiring to remove/re-add the dll reference. Can anybody explain why a VSTO project doesn't show up as a regular project? And is there a better way to go about it than what I am doing presently?

    Hi everyone: I'm now performing a stack buffer overflow attack test on my own PC( Ubuntu 9.10, gcc-4.4.1 ) based on the article http://www.tenouk.com/Bufferoverflowc/Bufferoverflow4.html. Yet I haven't achieved the goal. Each time a segfault is thrown accompanied with some error informaiton. I compile the source code, and wanna get further information using objdump. Function __strcpy_chk is invoked in the assembly code dumped out, and it's said that "The __strcpy_chk() function is not in the source standard; it is only in the binary standard." Does this the mechanism a compiler employed to protect runtime stack? To finish my test, how can I bypass the protection? Regards.

  • Pass HTML form entries into a Javascript array to then be written to a client side cookie?

    I'm building a bit of a test-case JS application, something very basic, but have run into some problems. I'm trying to use a HTML form for a user to enter a number, which is then written to a Javascript Array. The user then has the option to write that same array to a local (client side) cookie. (I understand the security implications of this - it's a test-case and not for commercial use.) However, I can't make the connection - how can I capture the HTML entry, press 'submit' which will send it to a JS array, where the user can then press a different 'submit' which will write the array to a text file? If anyone can help I'd appreciate it because it's been nearly 6 hours and it's not funny anymore.

I tried following ways to refer it in a WSDL file but it doesnt work. 1) placed the xsd file in local file system and imported it as <xsd:import namespace="http://ws.test.com/" schemaLocation="file:///D:/wsdl/Foo.xsd"></xsd:import> 2) Placed the xsd file in web root folder and imported as <xsd:import namespace="http://ws.test.com/" schemaLocation="http://localhost:8080/Xfire/Foo.xsd"></xsd:import> When I run the client I get null for the fields of response object. But this works when I embed the type definition inside the WSDL itself. How do we specify the path to external xsds? I am using xFire 1.2.6 for generating webservices. Client is generated using xFire WSGen ant task.

    Hi all, I'm a bit new to Javascript and am trying to create a delimited string from a textare. The problem is when passing in the textarea, it adds newlines for each row on the textarea. I need to have the entire textarea parsed into a string with a delimiter for each line (replacing the newline char).     Is there any way to have a mock constructed instead of a real instance when testing code that calls a constructor? For example: public class ClassToTest { public void MethodToTest() { MyObject foo = new MyObject(); Console.WriteLine(foo.ToString()); } } In this example, I need to create a unit test that confirms that calling MethodToTest on an instance of ClassToTest will indeed output whatever the result of the ToString() method of a newly created instance of MyObject. I can't see a way of realistically testing the 'ClassToTest' class in isolation; testing this method would actually test the 'myObject.ToString()' method as well as the MethodToTest method.

    I have looked at this question; http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2872158/ and the F1 page, but that doesn't help me much. I have set the profiling on and rebuilt, but I can't find the 'Data and Diagnostics' page, or see anything which resembles a coverage data file in the project folder. What I am trying to do get an equivalent to 'gcov' on a Linux platform, get a chart of how much code is being missed by the test suite. I'm using Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition and UnitTest++ as the test framework. Any help would be most welcome.

I figure its because I need to supply some network credentials but I'm not sure how to get those to work in this situation.
