• How do I create and link to a database in ASP.NET (Razor) with Visual studio 2013?

  We have a simple web app, part of which allows users to create accounts and then, hopefully soon, to write blog posts. The user log in system is working great, it utilizes the given .sdf database created when a new project is created. We would like to expand it now to allow for blog data (the title, body of the blog, image posts perhaps, etc). However, I'm unsure of how to add another table to the user database for this purpose - or if that would even be best since it has sensitive information in it. I've been reading blog post after blog post and still can't find anything current on this. All of the articles are for MVC projects or older versions of VS. If someone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated!

• How to improve programming skills?

  I'm very new to programming. I started learning PHP about half a year ago, so I do know something. I can write small functions, I can export and import information from a database and I can make a website. I don't know OOP principles and I don't know about objects and classes. Should I move to OOP principles and learn about classes, methods and objects? If not, what should I do? Continue writing simple code? How can a programmer write his/her own API? Is OOP necessary to do this? So how can i improve my skills? I love programming. I spend my 24/7 on it, so any help will be appreciated.

  With release 12.2.4 for non-referenced RMAs, Order Management will allow you to configure the model from Sales Order / Quick Sales Order windows. This is only allowable when profile  OM: Enable Configuration UI for RMA is set to Yes.  All selected options must be returnable, as well as all included items. Order Management explodes included items and creates options and option classes in a way similar to outbound orders. The application creates all selected components with same line number but different option/component number.  Additionally, the application does not allow re-configuration and/or deletion of any line if any line in the same configuration is received, fulfilled, closed, cancelled, or split.   Possible Duplicate: Good Books and videos for absolute beginner to SQL I have landed a role as a product engineer for a web based product. A big part of the product is allowing its users the ability to create queries with SQL to pull in business information from their back end databases. I know the very basics of SQL and need to spend some time getting a better grasp on SQL. I have the tutorial from w3schools on my ToDo list, but was hoping to get some answers that point me to good resources for learning SQL. I have no preference - I can buy a book (SQL For Dummies?), or online resources, online videos, audio, etc.

• Remove Ubuntu 11.10 from Dual Boot Windows XP without XP CD?

  I installed Ubuntu on a old Windows XP computer using Dual Boot, i have no XP Cd and desperately need to remove it! EasyBCD does not work on windows XP, iF I just delete the Ubuntu partition all hell breaks loose and i have to reinstall ubuntu to get my XP back. Please help me i am only 12 and i have made a stupid error on my mum and dads computer and will get into serious trouble if i dont fix it soon!. Extra Information: I use the gnu boot loader to choose my operating system, but my mum and dad need my help to open a word document, they have only just grasped double clicking! I installed it off a cd that i made, the computer is 64-bit AMD Athlon with one 160gb hard drive, 512mb ram and a Sis mirage2 128mb shared video card. Its a COMPAQ presario.

I got several different types of not-booting until now. All without significant error messages. Now that I'm running out of ideas I thought maybe one of you is able to find my mistake. • Finding inspiration / help for making up (weapon) names

  I'm really bad with words, especially with English words. Currently I'm struggling to make a good weapon names for my game, it needs to display the weapon functionality (weak/strong/fast/ballistic etc) correctly as well. For example the best weapon in a (futuristic) game cannot be called just with the name "Laser", it's just too boring, right? Are there any tools, websites or anything that helps me finding good names for weapons? (or anything else similar). I was thinking to use scientific names, but noticed that they are really hard to write, and they get very long, and I also lack information about science, I only know I could use the atomic sub-particles names in the weapons for example. How do I get started with becoming good with making up names? (this could apply in generally to any naming problems).

• wubi boots into grub after 12.04 install

  I would just like to recover the files off of the wubi install and then install a proper version of ubuntu, is there any way to recover the files? for further information. I had ubuntu 11.04 and used the update manager to update it to 12.04. it worked for aproximitely a day and then I had to do a hard reset the next day after what seemed to be artifact corruption. upon trying to reboot into ubuntu it brings up the grub command prompt "gnu grub version 1.99-12ubuntu5" i have previously done hard resets on it in the past, there is nothing in my windows hidden 000 recovery folder.

The most fundamental relationship would be that a "product" has "versions" and a given "version" is used by a "client." • Can't get Past Login Screen -Graphics Drivers 12.10

  Newbie Linux user here. I just installed Ubuntu 12.10, dual booting with Windows 8 Preview Release Build 8400 on a Dell Precision 490 workstation with Nvidia Quandro NVS 55/280 PCI graphics card. I cannot login to Ubuntu - after entering my password and pressing enter, the screen graphics gets garbled for a few seconds, and then the screen goes black showing only the mouse cursor. I suspect it's something to do with my Graphics Card, everything on the GUI login screen feels very sluggish. I know what I have provided here doesn't give you much information, would appreciate it if I could get some guidance on how to provide more useful logs. Thank you.

• How do I analyze vague Google Analytics data re traffic from Facebook?

  We have one Facebook fan page and two personal profiles that could be sending traffic and then there are the many facebook pages of friends etc. I am also running an ad campaign from my FB account for my husband's business which has a link from his personal FB profile and his fan page. On Google analytics for his business we get the following referring sites from Facebook: /ajax/emu/end.php which is listed under facebook.com / referral /l.php (which is a not-found page at FB /ajax/emu/end.php which is listed under apps.facebook.com Both of the working links send me to the home page of my profile, which is the account I am working from to create and review the FB ad campaign that we are running. Is this info telling me any useful information at all? Is there a best practice for tracking and analyzing Facebook traffic that is a lot more granular? thanks!

• Is there an open source alternative to "Adobe Digital Editions"?

  For the moment I run Adobe Digital Editions under Wine to download ebooks burdened with ditigal restriction management. I only use it to open .acsm files supplied by ebook-shops, which contain authentication information required to download the actual DRM'ed ebook files, which I then transfer to my reader-device with calibre. My question is, if there exist open source alternatives to Adobe Digital Editions. They don't need much functionality. I just want to put the .acsm-file in and get the .epub out (no, I don't want to remove the drm, that'd be illegal afaik).

• Nvidia Driver versions?

  I've looked all over and can't find any reason as to why or how Nvidia names their drivers. for example they have a 330.xxx/340.xxx series that are current but also a 300.xxx and i've found that they aren't always release in order by number. Here's an example on there site with version and release date 331.38 - January 13 334.16 - Feb 7 331.49 - Feb 18 I'm really confused about what driver to actually go with, a few different series versions seem to work adequately and I just want to have an understanding of it and what the best option to work from would be. I really appreciate any information

I've been hearing a lot of good press about Ruby On Rails but I'm having a hard time finding much information on the advantages of using ASP.Net MVC 3 over RoR, yet I see many existing businesses migrating over to ASP.Net MVC. Does ASP.Net MVC 3 have any advantages over Ruby On Rails for existing businesses such as possibly tying into old databases better or allowing for more complex business logic? Or is it most likely the case that they are transferring simply because they were already using ASP.Net for Winforms?

• Numlock doesn't work after logging in

  I've a strange problem after upgrading to Ubuntu 11.10 The Numlock of my Apple Keyboard (white, wired) doesn't work anymore. Strange thing because it works with the guest account but not with my user account. I did change the lightdm.conf to get the numlock working for the login and it works, but nor in my user account. Even stranger, pushing zero effects a right click? I also tried different keyboard layouts, but it shows Numlock on (stuck on) but doesn't work. Any idea which config file stores information about this?

• Advice on how to understand in general and in practice IT Infrastructure

  My IT knowledge resides mainly in SW development. I have just some basic know how about networks. On the net I tried to get information and read books in order to better understand the overall IT infrastrcuture, but all the sources I found are too generic or, mainly, too detailed in just one aspect, making me lost. Could anyone suggest some books or web resources as good compromise in details? My goal would be able to understand the network issues and security threats when, for example, two remote system have to be setup and put in connection each other. Considering this scenario there are several aspects to consider: firewalls, intranet/internet interconnections, certificates for httpS, etc. The argument is quite wide, therefore I was looking for something that might help to start to understand this subject without going too deep in details (Computer Networks from A.Tanenbaum is a wonderful milestone, but way too specific for my scope). In Studio, duplicate the agent, change its name to genAgent, change the web application context to genagent. 2: Go to datasource of genAgent, drop all datasources.3: Generate server template. put the jar file under odi\common\templates\wls 4: Deploy this template by update the existing domain. Bring up the config.cmd, choose update existing domain. 5: Update the domain using the template that just generated. Go through the Configuration wizard. (I did not modify anything or configure anything here). 6: The wizard will give information says the deployment was successful. 7: Bring up the admin server and ODI_server1.

• Any tips to learn how to program with severe ADHD?

  I have a difficult time trying to learn how to program from straight text-books. Video training seems to work well for me in my past experiences with PHP. I am trying my hardest to stay focussed and push through. Specifically I am looking to start indie game development. Over the last two weeks I have been trying to pick the "right" language and framework to develop with. I started going through Python, but I am not really enjoying the language so far. I am constantly looking through this website to compare this language to that, and keep getting distracted. Aside from all of this, is it possible to become a programmer when you have trouble focussing? • Error installing Package Control for Sublime Text 3 on Ubuntu 14.04

  This is the error. It comes up when I paste and enter the installation code (which I get from the Package Control website) and each time I open up Sublime Text. Package Control Your system's locale is set to a value that can not handle non-ASCII characters. Package Control can not properly work unless this is fixed. On Linux, please reference your distribution's docs for information on properly setting the LANG environmental variable. As a temporary work-around, you can launch Sublime Text from the terminal with: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 sublime_text I had the same problem with Ubuntu 13.04 so it's probably not version-dependent.

• How do I change the color of the screen that is displayed before the login screen?

  How do I change the color that the system displays just before the login screen is displayed? Here is the boot sequence on my machine in the order that things are displayed: The BIOS screen is flashed. A Black screen is displayed for a few seconds. My Plymouth splash screen is displayed. Purple screen is displayed for a few seconds (This is what I want to change). Finally, the login screen is displayed.
