  • I have 5 links that open the same modalpopup?

    I have 5 links that are on the same form but I would like them all to reference the same AJAX modalpopup extender. I am basically showing a panel with the same view layout with just different data depending on which link is pressed, showing different match scores from games. The only way I can get it to work is have 5 panels with unique names and each link references its own panel. Can I get all the links to call one panel? Thanks

    Using ASP MVC, I have set up a webpage for localhost/Dinner/100 to show the dinner details for dinner with ID = 100. On the page, there is a dropdown that shows Dinner 1, Dinner 2, etc. The user should select the dinner of interest (Dinner 2, ID = 102) off the form and press submit. The page should refresh and show the url: localhost/Dinner/102, and show the details of dinner 2. My code is working except for the url. During this, my url shows localhost/Dinner/100 even though it is correctly displaying the details of Dinner 2 (ID = 102). My controller method is pretty simple: public ActionResult Index(string id) { int Id = 0; if (!IsValidFacilityId(id) || !int.TryParse(id, out Id)) { return Redirect("/"); } return View(CreateViewModel(Id)); } can you help me figure out how to get this all working? p.s.     I am in the process of implementing the jqGrid and would like to be able to use the sorting functionality. I have run into some issues with sorting columns that are related to the base table. Seems neater to me... Does anyone know what is meant by the following line?: Nested types include the notion of member accessibility, which some programmers do not understand clearly Using Namespaces to group the Class and Enum doesn't seem like a useful way to resolve this warning, since I would like both the enum to belong to the same parent level as the class name.

  • WCF - calling back to client (duplex ?)

    Hi, I have a problem with what solution to choose.. I have a server running having a Service running that can receive orders from a website. To this server several client (remote computers) are connected somehow. I would really like to use WCF for all comunication, but not sure it's possible. I dont wanna configure all client firewall settings in their routers, so the clients would have to connect to the server. But when an order is recieved on the server, it should be transferred to a specific client. One solution could be to have the Client connect using a duplex binding, but it will have to somehow keep the connection alive in order to be able to received data from server... Is this a good way to do this ?? Normally the connection times out and probably for a good reason... Anyone have insight to this problem. Thx alot for any advise :-) Best Regards Søren Müller

    Hello, Sometimes, when using Java reflection or some special storing operation into Object, you end up with unchecked warnings. I got used to it and when I can't do anything about it, I document why one call is unchecked and why it should be considered as safe. But, for the first time, I've got an error about a unchecked call. This function : public <K,V extends SomeClass & SomeOtherClass<K>> void doSomethingWithSomeMap (Map<K,V> map, V data); I thought that calling it this way : Map someMap = ...; SomeClass someData = ...; doSomethingWithSomeMap(someMap, someData); would give me an unchecked call warning. Jikes does a warning, but javac gives me an error : Error: doSomethingWithSomeMap(java.util.Map,V) in SomeClass cannot be applied to (java.util.Map,SomeClass) Any way to force it to compile with a warning? So the Result returned by getTeachers() is serialized as containing a List<Person> instead of List<Teacher>, and the same for getStudents(), mutatis mutandis. Is this the expected behavior?     I have created data sources from my objects in my project, some of which have other objects as members. When I want to bind a some objects to a data grid I would like to display some of the values from the member objects in the data grid as well but the examples I have come across seem to use an entire other datagrid or controls to display these member object values. How can I combine these values into one data grid? (Preferably without creating a wrapping class) Can I achieve this with LINQ somehow? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks P.S.   • MVC Areas - View not found

    Hi, I have a project that is using MVC areas. The area has the entire project in it while the main "Views/Controllers/Models" folders outside the Areas are empty barring a dispatch controller I have setup that routes default incoming requests to the Home Controller in my area. This controller has one method as follows:- public ActionResult Index(string id) { return RedirectToAction("Index", "Home", new {area = "xyz"}); } I also have a default route setup to use this controller as follows:- routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Default route "{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Dispatch", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional } ); Any default requests to my site are appropriately routed to the relevant area. The Area's "RegisterArea" method has a single route:- context.MapRoute( "xyz_default", "xyz/{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional } My area has multiple controllers with a lot of views. Any call to a specific view in these controller methods like "return View("blah"); renders the correct view. However whenever I try and return a view along with a model object passed in as a parameter I get the following error:- Server Error in '/DeveloperPortal' Application. The view 'blah' or its master was not found. The following locations were searched: ~/Views/Profile/blah.aspx ~/Views/Profile/blah.ascx ~/Views/Shared/blah.aspx ~/Views/Shared/blah.ascx It looks like whenever a model object is passed in as a param. to the "View()" method [e.g. return View("blah",obj) ] it searches for the view in the root of the project instead of in the area specific view folder. But the instances of Label will not get its data members fill in. I have also tried to do this using plain variables (not properties). If they were filled in, the image would actually show "3" and "Text rad 1". So what do I put in the class "Label" to have the properties right? Should there be some kind of annotation? Where do I read about this?

    Okay i'm new to asp mvc2 and i'm experiencing some problems with the htmlhelper called Html.dropdownlistfor(); I want to present the user a list of days in the week. And i want the selected item to be bound to my model. I have created this little class to generate a list of days + a short notation which i will use to store it in the database. public static class days { public static List<Day> getDayList() { List<Day> daylist = new List<Day>(); daylist.Add(new Day("Monday", "MO")); daylist.Add(new Day("Tuesday", "TU")); // I left the other days out return daylist; } public class Dag{ public string DayName{ get; set; } public string DayShortName { get; set; } public Dag(string name, string shortname) { this.DayName= name; this.DayShortName = shortname; } } } I really have now idea if this is the correct way to do it Then i putted this in my controller: SelectList _list = new SelectList(Days.getDayList(), "DayShortName", "DayName"); ViewData["days"] = _list; return View(""); I have this line in my model public string ChosenDay { get; set; } And this in my view to display the list: <div class="editor-field"> <%: Html.DropDownListFor(model => model.ChosenDay, ViewData["days"] as SelectList, "--choose Day--")%> </div> Now this all works perfect. On the first visit, But then when i'm doing a [HttpPost] Which looks like the following: [HttpPost] public ActionResult Registreer(EventRegistreerViewModel model) { // I removed some unrelated code here // The code below executes when modelstate.isvalid == false SelectList _list = new SelectList(Days.getDayList(), "DayShortName", "DayName"); ViewData["days"] = _list; return View(model); } Then i will have the following exception thrown: The ViewData item that has the key 'ChosenDay' is of type 'System.String' but must be of type 'IEnumerable<SelectListItem>'. This errors gets thrown at the line in my view where i display the dropdown list. I really have no idea how to solve this and tried several solutions i found online. but none of them really worked.     Given the following information Public Enum Request As Byte None = 0 Identity = 1 License = 2 End Enum Protected mType As Communication.Request mType = Communication.Request.Identity Debug.Print (BitConverter.GetBytes(mType).Length.tostring) 2 Why does bitconverter report that mType is a length of 2. I would have thought that passing a Byte into BitConverter.GetBytes would just return the Byte. I mean it's no big deal because it's only sending a very small block of data across a TCP Socket, but I'm just intrigued why it thinks it's 2 bytes.

    I have a WPF application running with .Net3.5 using FluentNHibernate, and all works fine. When I upgraded to VS2010 I ran into some odd problems, but after changing to use x64 variant of SQLite it worked fine again. Now I want to change to use .Net4, but this has turned into a more painful experience then I expected.. When calling FluentConfiguration.BuildConfiguration I get an exception thrown: FluentConfigurationException unhandled An invalid or incomplete configuration was used while creating a SessionFactory. Check PotentialReasons collection, and InnerException for more detail The inner exception gives us more information: Message = "Could not create the driver from NHibernate.Driver.SQLite20Driver, NHibernate, Version=2.1.2.4000, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=aa95f207798dfdb4." It has an InnerException again: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. Which again has an InnerException: The IDbCommand and IDbConnection implementation in the assembly System.Data.SQLite could not be found. Ensure that the assembly System.Data.SQLite is located in the application directory or in the Global Assembly Cache. If the assembly is in the GAC, use element in the application configuration file to specify the full name of the assembly. Now - to me it sounds like it doesn't find System.Data.SQLite.dll, but I can't understand this. Everywhere this is referenced I have "Copy Local", and I have verified that it is in every build folder for projects using SQLite. I have also copied it manually to every Debug folder of the solution - without luck. Notes: This exact same code worked just fine before I upgraded to .Net4. I did see some x64 x86 mismatch problems earlier, but I have switched to use x86 as the target platform and for all referenced dlls. I have verified that all files in the Debug-folder are x86. I have tried the precompiled Fluent dlls, I have tried compiling myself, and I have compiled my own version of Fluent using .Net4. I see that there are also others that have seen this problem, but I haven't really seen any solution yet. After @devio's answer I tried adding a reference to the SQLite dll. This didn't change anything, but I hope I made it right though..
