    I want a user to be able to load a url in their browser, but not get redirected: http://example.com/abc/{var1}/{var2}/def I want the example.com apache 2.2 server to take that request, and "invisibly" and without redirect reverse proxy it to: http://other.example.com/abc/{var1}/{var2}/def I have spent hours trying different combinations of RewriteRule, ProxyPass, ProxyPassMatch, and ProxyPassReverse, all to no avail. Here is my current attempt, which seems to do a redirect to /test instead of an invisible proxy.     Hey all, My manager has pointed out to me a few nifty things that one of our accounting applications can do because it can load different settings based on the machine name of the host and the machine name of the client when the package is opened in an RDP session. We want to provide similar functionality in one of my company's applications. I've found out on this site how to detect if I'm in an RDP session, but I'm having trouble finding information anywhere on how to detect the name of the client computer. Any pointers in the right direction would be great. I'm coding in C# for .NET 3.5 EDIT The sample code I cobbled together from the advice below - it should be enough for anyone who has a use for the WTSQuerySessionInformation to get a feel for what's going on. Note that this isn't necessarily the best way of doing it - just a starting point that I've found useful. When I run this locally, I get boring, expected answers.   • How to break a Hibernate session?

    In the Hibernate reference, it is stated several times that All exceptions thrown by Hibernate are fatal. This means you have to roll back the database transaction and close the current Session. You aren’t allowed to continue working with a Session that threw an exception. One of our legacy apps uses a single session to update/insert many records from files into a DB table. Each recourd update/insert is done in a separate transaction, which is then duly committed (or rolled back in case an error occurred). Then for the next record a new transaction is opened etc. But the same session is used throughout the whole process, even if a HibernateException was caught in the middle. We are using Oracle 9i btw with Hibernate 3.24.sp1 on JBoss 4.2. Reading the above in the book, I realized that this design may fail. So I refactored the app to use a separate session for each record update. In a unit test with a mock session factory, I could prove that it is now requesting a new session for each record update. So far, so good. However, we found no way to reproduce the session failure while testing the whole app (would this be a stress test btw, or ...?). We thought of shutting down the listener of the DB but we realized that the app is keeping a bunch of connections open to the DB, and the listener would not affect those connections. (This is a web app, activated once every night by a scheduler, but it can also be activated via the browser.) Then we tried to kill some of those connections in the DB while the app was processing updates - this resulted in some failed updates, but then the app happily continued. Apparently Hibernate is clever enough to reopen broken connections under the hood without breaking the whole session. So this might not be a critical issue, as our app seems to be robust enough even in its original form. However, the issue keeps bugging me. I would like to know: Under what circumstances does the Hibernate session really become unusable after a HibernateException was thrown? How to reproduce this in a test? (What's the proper term for such a test?)

  • Accessing array values in jQuery ajax callback function

    Values are received through a jQuery AJAX callback, but I've been unsuccessful getting at the values. The print_r was used to demonstrate that the correct data was sent out by the PHP script, and it is echoed successfully in the alert() box in the success function. So the correct data is being returned, and (if correctly formatted) it is viewable. The data returned in this way looks like this in the alert() popup: Array ( [staff_id] => 51 [date] => 2012-10-18 [project_id] => 0 [project_num => 49 [task_desk] => This is a task [hours] => 3.30 ) But when I use echo to output the $aCard array and then try to break it down inside the success function of the ajax call, I can't figure out how to get at the values. My attempts have consistently returned values of "undefined". In the success function, in place of alert(data);, I've tried this: var tce_staff_id = data['staff_id']; alert(tce_staff_id); and this: var tce_staff_id = data.staff_id; alert(tce_staff_id); What am I missing? UPDATE: Thanks to Martin S. for information re json_encode() PHP instruction. I've modified the ajax script as follows: echo json_encode($aCard); I now get THIS result from alert(data); in the success function: {"staff_id":"51","date":"2012-10-18","project_id":"0","project_num":"49","task_desc":"This is a task","hours":"3.30"} However, the following returns "undefined": alert(data.staff_id); alert(data[0].staff_id); var test = data.staff_id; alert(test); Can anyone see what I'm missing? All above code comes immediately after alert(data) inside the success callback of the ajax function. alert(data) DOES work and displays the desired data, as above.

  • ASP.NET site sometimes freezing up and/or showing odd text at top of the page while loading, on load

    I have various servers (dev, 2 x test, 2 x prod) running the same asp.net site. The test and prod servers are in load-balanced pairs (prod1 with prod2, and test1 with test2). The test server pair is exhibiting some kind of (super) slowdown or freezing during about one in ten page loads. Sometimes a line of text appears at the very top of the page which looks something like: 00 OK Date: Thu, 01 Apr 2010 01:50:09 GMT Server: Microsoft-IIS/6.0 X-Powered_By: ASP.NET X-AspNet-Version:2.0.50727 Cache-Control:private Content-Type:text/html; charset=ut (the beginning and end are "cut off".) Has anyone seen anything like this before? Any idea what it means or what's causing it? The ASP.NET tab disappeared from our IIS web site properties and we had to mess around for an hour uninstalling (aspnet_regiis.exe -u) and reinstalling 32 bit ASP.NET and adding Default.aspx manually back into default documents. We'll probably try again in a few days, if anyone has anything to add in the meantime, please do.

    I'm using Code::Blocks 8.02 in Ubuntu 9.10. If I leave Code::Blocks open for several hours, I notice that it's consuming a LOT of CPU. If I actually click on the application, the CPU usage immediately drops. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a solution?

  • what do i need to do so that mod_wsgi will find libmysqlclient.16.dylib? (osx 10.7 with apache mod_wsgi)

    I am trying to run django on osx 10.7 (lion) with apache mod_wsgi and virtualenv. My site works if I use the django testing server: (baseline)otter:hello mathew$ python manage.py runserver but it doesn't work when I run apache. I tried adding this path to /usr/sbin/envvars DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH="/usr/lib:/usr/local/mysql/lib:$DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH" export DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH and to /private/etc/paths.d/libmysql /usr/local/mysql/lib then restarted the machine but that has not changed the error message.     After many hours, I have discovered that the given udp server needs the following steps for a successful communication: 1- Send "Start Message" on a given port 2- Wait to receive from server on any port 3- Then the port dedicated to you to send further data to the server equals the port you have received on it + 1 So I am asking if this kind is a known protocol/handshaking, or it is only special to this server??     Hi. After spending SEVERAL frustrated hours on this I am asking for your help. I am trying to get the content of particular nodes from a SOAP response. The response is $XmlStr = <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope"<xmlns:ns1="http://soap.xxxxxx.co.uk/"><env:Body><ns1:PlaceOrderResponse><xxxxxOrderNumber></xxxxxOrderNumber><ErrorArray><Error><ErrorCode>24</ErrorCode><ErrorText>The+client+order+number+3002254+is+already+in+use</ErrorText></Error><Error><ErrorCode>1</ErrorCode><ErrorText>Aborting</ErrorText></Error></ErrorArray></ns1:PlaceOrderResponse></env:Body></env:Envelope> I am trying to get at the nodes and children of <ErrorArray. Because of the XML containing namespaces $XmlArray = new SimpleXMLElement($XmlStr); foreach ($XmlArray->env:Envelope->env:Body->ns1:PlaceOrderResponse->ErrorArray->Error as $Error) { echo $Error->ErrorCode."<br />";<br /> } doesn't work. I have read a number of articles such as http://www.sitepoint.com/blogs/2005/10/20/simplexml-and-namespaces/ htp://blog.stuartherbert.com/php/2007/01/07/using-simplexml-to-parse-rss-feeds/ and about 20 questions on this site which unfortunately are not helping. (the second link has htp:// as a newbie here I cannot post more than one link) Even writing, $XmlArray = new SimpleXMLElement($XmlStr); echo "<br /><br /><pre>\n"; print_r($XmlArray); echo "<pre><br /><br />\n"; gives SimpleXMLElement Object ( ) which makes me wonder if the soap response ($XmlStr) is actually a valid input for SimpleXMLElement. It seems that the line $XmlArray = new SimpleXMLElement($XmlStr); is not doing what I expect it to. Any help on how to get the nodes from the XML above would be very welcome. Obviously getting it to work (having a working example) is what I need in the short term, but if someone could help me understand what I am doing wrong would be better in the long term. Cheers. Stu

    I'd like to get started with antlr, but after spending a few hours reviewing the examples at the antlr.org site, I still cant get a clear understanding of the grammar to java process. is there some simple example? something like a four operations calculator implemented with antlr going through the parser definition and all the way to the java source code?
