  I am listing all running processes in system with it full path. My application is running fine in XP but in vista, it gives access denied exception while accessing MainModule.FileName. (Due to UAC, i think). foreach (Process process in Process.GetProcesses()) { sProcess = process.ProcessName; sFullpath = process.MainModule.FileName; .. .. .. } I did not find a solution to deal with UAC. Any clue??

  I want to access my .wav files which are in a package inside my project. For example I got two packages: package program package sounds From inside the program/something.class I'd like to play the sounds/asound.wav. How is this possible. clip.open(AudioSystem.getAudioInputStream(new File(filename))); clip.start(); //.... something inbetween clip.stop(); Here filename is C:\\projects\\something\\sounds\\, but how is it possible to just give a relative path to the asound.wav in the package?

  I have a problem showing the image form database in a view Details and a ImageController. Inside the view I have: img src=Url.Action("GetFile","Image", new {id= Model.id}) and in controller: public FileContentResult GetFile(int idl) { //int idl = 32; SqlDataReader rdr; byte[] fileContent = null; ........... return File(,,); } When the view is called, function GetFile it just won't work. But if I cut out the parameter int id1 and I instantiate it as a variable it does work. public FileContentResult GetFile() { int idl = 32; SqlDataReader rdr; byte[] fileContent = null; ........... return File(,,); } Why?

  Hi, I need to write some data to mssql database from linux in c++. I found this sqlapi.com But I think, at first ODBC driver has to be installed an has to work.   Can anyone tell me how to show animated progress bar while the data from an Excel sheet to a SQL database table is being transfered? I have a form in .aspx page. In that form, there is one FileUpload control that uploads an Excel file. While uploading that file and saving it on the server at the same time I'm transferring the data from the Excel sheet to a SQL table. During this transfer, I want to show a ProgressBar and after transferring all data it will be removed automatically.. Is there something I can do to achieve this?

• Getting a permission error when trying to connect to sql database

  I have a sql server on a dedicated machine, running SQL 2008. I have the IP of the box, a database setup on it. I've built a small script that just does a connection test, and when I run it, I get the following error. Request for the permission of type 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlClientPermission, System.Data, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. I've been told by the admin that SQL remote access has been granted for my IP address. Anybody know what's wrong?

  Hello all! I am new to web services and i have a question: Should a web service be able to access the client database? Sorry if i am not using the proper terms. Lets say i have a web service method called : GetCarDetails(string name) which will actually return details from car table. in this method i have an sql statement like SELECT * FROM car WHERE name = ?. In the client application, i have a textbox where i can input a name and a button on which when i click, fill a gridview. So im kinda confused, should the web service normally know that the client has a table called car?Please correct me if ive used the wrong terms. Thanks

  I am building a taxi dispatching app first: I need the passenger app to show the nearest taxis, now I know how to do that in code but in my way I have to go through all the taxis locations(in database on server) and calculate the distance from the passenger location and get the lowest ones - I don't want to do this because there will be a lot of taxis and going through all of them and making some math is kind of pain on the server- is there a way to get the nearest ones without going through all of them? second: what the best database to use - first, should it be sql or non-sql - I need a very robust database, because there will be a lot of updates (I mean the passengers locations added then deleted when arriving to destination && the taxis location changes frequently) finally: I will use RubyOnRails to do the server side and json as data transfer format, do you have a recommendation to me on something better?   I recently created a Sinatra app with a login form (no basic auth). To prevent access to the app unless the user logged in I put a before block in place before do unless request.path_info == '/login' authenticated? end end I quickly realized that this prevented me from accessing resources in the public directory like my style sheet and logo unless authenticated first as well. To get around that I changed my filter to the following: before do unless request.path_info == '/login' || request.path_info == "/stylesheets/master.css" || request.path_info == "/images/logo.png" authenticated? end end If there were lots of resources I needed to provide exceptions to this way of making them would quickly become overwhelming. What is a better way to code this so I can make exceptions for the public directory or even its specific sub-directories and files like /stylesheets, /images, /images/bg.png but not /secret or /secret/eyes-only.pdf? Or ... Is there a completely different best-practice to handle this situation of locking down everything except the stuff related to logging in (handlers, views, resources)?

  We have 2 different server environments using the same Hibernate configuration. One server has JNDI support for datasource, but the other does not. Currently the Hibernate configuration is configured to use JNDI, which is causing problem on the server that does not support JNDI. I have also tried to put the direct JDBC configuration together with JNDI configuration into the configuration file, but it looks like hibernate always favors JNDI over direct JDBC configuration if both exist. My question is, will it be the same if both JNDI and connection_provider configuration both exists? Will Hibernate still use JNDI over connection_provider? Or is there any way to change the precedence of the database connection property? I do not have access to the server all the time, so I thought I do ask the question before my window of the sever time. Thanks in advance.

  Hello, I'm working on a school project right now. It's meant to be a 3D editing software, (like a very minimized version of Maya). I have to write it in C#, using the 'Windows Application Project'. I intend to implement all the 3D stuff myself, from projections to shading. My question is, how can I get direct access to a single pixel in the C# windows application? I know I'm going to have a main view port in the window. But I haven't decided yet how it will be made. Is there a built in object that I can use, that will let me define the boundaries of the view port, and then paint each pixel individually? (I'm just shooting in the dark here, I don't know much about C#. I mostly program in C) Thanks, Malki.

  Hi I have several domains, only one website and one databse table for each domain. example: wbesite.us - data from USA goes to database table main_usa wbesite.co.uk - data form UK goes to database table main_uk Only have one database with name of the website. Having only one website structured, and having variables like $sql="select * from main_".$countrycode." where bla..bla..., and many other variables to catch the domain extension, and so on... Now, instead of having one full website for each domain, how can set a script and wher do I put it in order to detect the domain that the user uses. In my server root do I create something like website.$domain ? Something like website OLX but for different purposes. I hope I made myself clear. Thank you.

My code is heavily client-server communications dependant, and I access the GUI dispatcher in several places to make sure important data is only accessed on a single thread (ie. the GUI thread). This dispatcher seems unavailable in the unit tests - I have tried using Deployment.Current.Dispatcher and even created an instance of a blank control to try use its own dispatcher, but both don't work. The code inside of Dispatcher.BeginInvoke() just never executes, even if I include a Thread.Sleep afterwards.

  Hey all, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with what I am about to embark on. I have several csv files which are all around a GB or so in size and I need to load them into a an oracle database. While most of my work after loading will be read-only I will need to load updates from time to time. Basically I just need a good tool for loading several rows of data at a time up to my db. Here is what I have found so far: I could use SQL Loader t do a lot of the work I could use Bulk-Insert commands Some sort of batch insert. Using prepared statement somehow might be a good idea. I guess I was wondering what everyone thinks is the fastest way to get this insert done. Any tips?

  My application demands archiving database tables between sybase and db2 and vice-a-versa and within(db2 to db2 and sybase to sybase) using java. I am trying to understand the best strategies around in terms performance, implementation, ease of use and scalability. Here is my current process - source and destination tables with the acceptable parameters (from java) are defined within xml. the application reads the source and destination configurations and execute them sequentially. destination is sometime optional when source is just deleting data from a specific table or when the source is just calling a stored procedure. dataset between source and destination is extremely large (in millions) From top of my head, it looks like I can define dependencies between multiple source and destination combination and have them execute in parallel in multiple treads. But will this improve any performance(i hope it will)? Are there any open-source frameworks for data archiving using java? Any other thoughts on the implements side will be really helpful. Thanks

I have an object function ObjA() { var a = 1; this.methodA = function() { alert(a); } } which is instantiated like var myObjA = new ObjA(); Later on, I assign my methodA as a handler function in an external Javascript Framework, which invokes it using the apply(...) method. When the external framework executes my methodA, this belongs to the framework function invoking my method. Since I cannot change how my method is called, how do I regain access to the private variable a? My research tells me, that closures might be what I'm looking for.

  Background: I have a short list of strings. The number of strings is not always the same, but are nearly always of the order of a “handful” In our database will store these strings in a 2nd normalised table These strings are never changed once they are written to the database. We wish to be able to match on these strings quickly in a query without the performance hit of doing lots of joins. So I am thinking of storing a hash code of all these strings in the main table and including it in our index, so the joins are only processed by the database when the hash code matches. So how do I get a good hashcode? I could: Xor the hash codes of all the string together Xor with multiply the result after each string (say by 31) Cat all the string together then get the hashcode Some other way So what do people think? (If you care we are using .NET and SqlServer)

But I cannot find any documentation for reading inbox sms in the standard Android Developr Docs. It was mentioned at various websites that this content has been removed from the standard sdk. The application may not support higher version of android. So, how can I create an apllication to read sms from inbox that is reliable in furture version of android. Please help !!

  I have a SQl Server 2005 database backup that I want to transfer to SQL Server 2008 on my server. I spent 3 days transferring the .bak file from my own machine to my server. I then tried to restore the bak file and I got an error. I then read online a completely different method for adding a SQL server 2005 Database to SQL server 2008 which was the detach and attach method which means I need to detach the database in SQL Server 2005 and then transfer the MDF file from it via ftp to my server and then attach it in SQL Server 2008. Well I already used a lot of bandwidth transferring the .bak file to my server. is there a way to convert my .bak file which is already on my server to an MDF file and attach it in SQL server 2008?

  I would like to generate a Data Dictionary for a SQL Server 2008 database that has one row for each field, and the following columns: table_name field_name data_type link_table (for when the field in question is a foreign key) link_field (for when the field in question is a foreign key) I can get the first 3 columns with something like the SQL script below...but I don't know how to get the last two columns of foreign key information. INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TABLE_CONSTRAINTS gets close, but doesn't have the data I'm looking for. Can someone help with this point? • Open source framework à la Microsoft Sync Framework suggestions?

  We are implementing a warehouse management system atop an open source stack (Java, web services & friends). In this system, we want to integrate many mobile devices which should also be capable of adequate online/offline functionality, e.g. preparing database inserts while a mobile device is temporarily unconnected, and performing them on the backend database when reconnected. For a .NET stack, Microsoft Sync Framework would be a perfect solution, e.g. to do database replication and hoarding. Can anyone suggest an open source alternative to the MS Sync Framework and possibly describe his experiences with it? Thanks in advance for any answers.
