    Is there a built-in schema datatype for xhtml data? Suppose I want to specify a "boozle" element that contains two "woozles", each of which is arbitrary xhtml. I want to write something like this, using the relax NG compact syntax: namespace nifty = "http://brinckerhoff.org/nifty/" start = element nifty:boozle {woozle, woozle} woozle = element nifty:woozle {xhtml} Unfortunately, xmllint then signals this error: ./lab.rng:43: element ref: Relax-NG parser error : Reference xhtml has no matching definition ./lab.rng:43: element ref: Relax-NG parser error : Internal found no define for ref xhtml So my question is this: is there something sensible that I should put in place of "xhtml" above?

The languages in the lang tag can be whatever.

  • PHP behaves weird, mixing up HTML markup.

    Thanks for looking on this problem. I have a page that is totally valid page, and there is a PHP loop that brings in a <li> for each entry of the table. When i check this page locally it looks 100% OK, but when veiwing the page online the left side bar (which creates this markup is broken randomly mixing <div>'s and <li>'s and i have no clue what the problem is.     I am trying to get to grips with BDD web development in Ruby using cucumber + capybara and I am stuck at what should be an easy task - just to check the number of rows in a table. Something along the lines of: page.should have_xpath("//table[@id='myTable']") find("//table[@id='myTable']/tr").length.should = 3 But this doesn't work and I can't find a way to assert against the table length.   • Rails can't render polymorphic associations to XML?

    When I render XML with an :include clause for a polymorphic association I have, it doesn't work. I end up with the XML returning the object pointers instead of the actual objects, like: <posts> #<Comment:0x102ed1540>#<Comment:0x102ecaa38>#<Comment:0x102ec7fe0>#<Comment:0x102ec3cd8> </posts> Yet as_json works! When I render JSON with :include clause, the associations are rendered correctly and I get something like: posts":[ {"type":"Comment","created_at":"2010-04-20T23:02:30-07:00","id":7,"content":"fourth comment"}, {"type":"Comment","created_at":"2010-04-20T23:02:26-07:00","id":6,"content":"third comment"}] My current workaround is using XML builder, but I'm not too comfortable with that in the long run. Does anyone happen to know about this issue? I'm kind of in a catch-22 because while XML doesn't render the associations, as_json doesn't render in a kosher json format (returns an array rather than a list of hashes as proper json should) and the deserializer I'm using on the client side would require modification to parse the json correctly.
