  • Why can't I pass a form field of type file to a CFFUNCTION using structure syntax?

    I'm trying to pass a form field of type "file" to a CFFUNCTION. The argument type is "any". Here is the syntax I am trying to use (pseudocode): <cfloop from="1" to="5" index="i"> <cfset fieldname = "attachment" & i /> <cfinvoke component="myComponent" method="attachFile"> <cfinvokeargument name="attachment" value="#FORM[fieldname]#" /> </cfinvoke> </cfloop> The loop is being done because there are five form fields named "attachment1", "attachment2", et al. This throws an exception in the function: coldfusion.tagext.io.FileTag$FormFileNotFoundException: The form field C:\ColdFusion8\...\neotmp25080.tmp did not contain a file. However, this syntax DOES work: <cfloop from="1" to="5" index="i"> <cfinvoke component="myComponent" method="attachFile"> <cfinvokeargument name="attachment" value="FORM.attachment#i#" /> </cfinvoke> </cfloop> I don't like writing code like that in the second example. It just seems like bad practice to me. So, can anyone tell me how to use structure syntax to properly pass a file type form field to a CFFUNCTION??

  • Why doesn't my dataset.AcceptChanges update some new rows i've added? C#

    I have a dataset in a datagrid with some data in it. Recently I've been asked to add some data to that dataset along with some controls to save the data from. I've added a few textboxes, 1 combobox and 3 textboxes that function as viewing of some datetimepickers that I have to use for dates. I've chosen to use textboxes in combination with datetimepicker because I also need to get and set the value NULL to the database. The problem is that when i call dataset.AcceptChanges() on that dataset that is binded using databinding to those controls it doesn't update the data that's contained in those three textboxes and the combobox. All the new stuff i've added works just fine. txtDataAcordare.DataBindings.Clear(); txtDataAcordare.DataBindings.Add("Text",dtPersonal,"d_DataAcordare"); txtDataInceput.DataBindings.Clear(); txtDataInceput.DataBindings.Add("Text", dtPersonal, "d_DataInceput"); txtDataSfarsit.DataBindings.Clear(); txtDataSfarsit.DataBindings.Add("Text", dtPersonal, "d_DataSfarsit"); this is the code i use to add the databinding. I am then using the datetime picker event CloseUp() to add the date into the textbox: txtDataAcordare.Text = dtpDataAcordare.Text; txtDataAcordare.Visible = true; txtDataAcordare.BringToFront(); After all my fields are completed i call: dtPersonal.AcceptChanges(); and these three textboxes don't get saved!   • Why doesn't a 32bit .deb package install on 64bit Ubuntu?

    My .deb package, built on 32-bit Ubuntu and containing executables compiled with gcc, won't install on the 64-bit version of the OS (the error message says 'Wrong architecture i386'). This is confusing to me because I thought that in general 32-bit software worked on 64-bit hardware, but not vice-versa. Will it be possible for me to produce a .deb file that I can install on a 64-bit OS, using my 32-bit machine? Is it just a matter of using the appropriate compiler flags to produce the executables (and if so what are they), or is the .deb file itself somehow specific to one processor architecture?

  • Why won't the following PDO transaction won't work in PHP?

    I am using PHP version 5.4.4, and a MySQL database using InnoDB. I had been using PDO for awhile without utilizing transactions, and everything was working flawlessly. Then, I decided to try to implement transactions, and I keep getting Internal Server Error 500. The following code worked for me (doesn't contain transactions). try { $DB = new PDO('mysql:host=localhost;dbname=database', 'root', 'root'); $DB->setAttribute(PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE, PDO::ERRMODE_EXCEPTION); $dbh = $DB->prepare("SELECT * FROM user WHERE username = :test"); $dbh->bindValue(':test', $test, PDO::PARAM_STR); $dbh->execute(); } catch(Exception $e){ $dbh->rollback(); echo "an error has occured"; } Then I attempted to utilize transactions with the following code (which doesn't work). try { $DB = new PDO('mysql:host=localhost;dbname=database', 'root', 'root'); $DB->setAttribute(PDO::ATTR_ERRMODE, PDO::ERRMODE_EXCEPTION); $dbh = $DB->beginTransaction(); $dbh->prepare("SELECT * FROM user WHERE username = :test"); $dbh->bindValue(':test', $test, PDO::PARAM_STR); $dbh->execute(); $dbh->commit(); } catch(Exception $e){ $dbh->rollback(); echo "an error has occured"; } When I run the previous code, I get an Internal Server Error 500.     i have the following query and its failing in Nhibernate 3 LINQ witha a "Non supported" exception. Its similar to this question but this question was asked over a year ago so i am positive that the answer is out of date. My DB tables are: VacationRequest (id, personId) VacationRequestDate (id, vacationRequestId) Person (id, FirstName, LastName) My Entities are: VacationRequest (Person, IList) VacationRequestDate (VacationRequest, Date) Here is the query that is getting a "Non supported" Exception Session.Query<VacationRequestDate>() .Where(r => people .Contains(r.VacationRequest.Person, new PersonComparer())) .Fetch(r=>r.VacationRequest) .ToList(); is there a better way to write this that would be supported in Nhibernate? fyi . .the PersonComparer just compared person.Id

  • Why are my bound parameters all identical (using Linq)?

    When I run this snippet of code: string[] words = new string[] { "foo", "bar" }; var results = from row in Assets select row; foreach (string word in words) { results = results.Where(row => row.Name.Contains(word)); } I get this SQL: -- Region Parameters DECLARE @p0 VarChar(5) = '%bar%' DECLARE @p1 VarChar(5) = '%bar%' -- EndRegion SELECT ... FROM [Assets] AS [t0] WHERE ([t0].[Name] LIKE @p0) AND ([t0].[Name] LIKE @p1) Note that @p0 and @p1 are both bar, when I wanted them to be foo and bar. I guess Linq is somehow binding a reference to the variable word rather than a reference to the string currently referenced by word? What is the best way to avoid this problem? (Also, if you have any suggestions for a better title for this question, please put it in the comments.)   • Why is no encoding set in reponse by tomcat? How can I deal with it?

    I had recently a problem with encoding of websites generated by servlet, that occured if the servlets were deployed under tomcat, but not under jetty. I did a little bit of research about it and simplified the problem to the following servlet: public class TestServlet extends HttpServlet implements Servlet { @Override public void service(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws IOException { response.setContentType("text/plain"); Writer output = response.getWriter(); output.write("öäüÖÄÜß"); output.flush(); output.close(); } } If I deploy this under Jetty and direct the browser to it, it returns the expected result. The data is returned as ISO-8859-1 and if I take a look into the headers, then Jetty returns: Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 The browser detects the encoding from this header. If I deploy the same servlet in a tomcat, the browser shows up strange characters. But Tomcat also returns the data as ISO-8859-1, the difference is, that no header tells about it. So the browser has to guess the encoding, and that goes wrong. My question is, is that behaviour of tomcat correct or a bug? And if it is correct, how can I avoid this problem? Sure, I can always add response.setCharacterEncoding("UTF-8"); to the servlet, but that means I set a fixed encoding, that the browser might or might not understand. The problem is more relevant, if no browser but another service accesses the servlet. So how I should deal with the problem in the most flexible way?

  • Why does SQLite say it can't read SQL from a file?

    Hi all. I have a bunch of SQL in a file, which creates the tables and so forth. The problem is that the .read command simply returns "can't open xxx" when I try to execute it. I've set the permissions to everybody read/write, but that didn't help. I can cat the file from the command line and see it fine. This is under Mac OS 10.6.3. Anybody have any idea here? Thanks!

  • Why is my regex so much slower compiled than interpreted ?

    I have a large and complex C# regex that runs OK when interpreted, but is a bit slow. I'm trying to speed this up by setting RegexOptions.Compiled, and this seems to take about 30 seconds for the first time and instantly after that. I'm trying to negate this by compiling the regex to an assembly first, so my app can be as fast as possible. My problem is when the compiling delay takes place: Regex myComplexRegex = new Regex(regexText, RegexOptions.Compiled); MatchCollection matches = myComplexRegex.Matches(searchText); foreach (Match match in matches) // <--- when the one-time long delay kicks in { } This is making compiling to an assembly basically useless, as I still get the delay on the first foreach call. What I want is for all the compiling delay to be done in advance when I compile to the assembly, not when the user runs the app. Where am I going wrong ? (The code I'm using to compile to an assembly is similar to http://www.dijksterhuis.org/regular-expressions-advanced/ , if that's relevant ).

    Hi, I'm trying to create css buttons by using the following html markup: <a href="access.php" class="css_button_red">Forgot password</a> But it ends up being not bigger than the text in the middle. Even though I've set the class's height and width. You can preview the problem here btw, www.matkalenderen.no Notice the first button, that's a form button and it's using it's own class. At first I tried to use the same class on the css button as well and the same problem appeared, so I tried to separate them into their own classes. In case there was some kind of crash. But it didn't matter anyway. What am I missing here?

    Has anyone come across a strange behaviour with the Camera API when used on Sony-Ericsson X10 or Droid? For example the following code doesn't work on those devices. Both temp tables are 3300 items long. The inner select executes in under a second. All strings are nvarchar(249). All IDs are int. Any ideas? I executed it (it's in a stored proc) for over 12 minutes without it finishing.

    I have a rails app that is working fine except for one thing. When I request something that doesn't exist (i.e. /not_a_controller_or_file.txt) and rails throws a "No Route matches..." exception, the response is this (blank line intentional): HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Thu, 02 Oct 2008 10:28:02 GMT Content-Type: text/html Content-Length: 122 Vary: Accept-Encoding Keep-Alive: timeout=15, max=100 Connection: Keep-Alive Status: 500 Internal Server Error Content-Type: text/html <html><body><h1>500 Internal Server Error</h1></body></html> I have the ExceptionLogger plugin in /vendor, though that doesn't seem to be the problem. I haven't added any error handling beyond the custom 500.html in public (though the response doesn't contain that HTML) and I have no idea where this bit of html is coming from. So Something, somewhere is adding that HTTP/1.1 200 status code too early, or the Status: 500 too late. I suspect it's Apache because I get the appropriate HTTP/1.1 500 header (at the top) when I use Webrick. My production stack is as follows: Apache 2 Mongrel (5 instances) RubyOnRails 2.1.1 (happens in both 1.2 and 2.1.1) I forgot to mention, the error is caused by a "no route matches..." exception

    The documentation on Core Data entities says: You might implement a custom class, for example, to provide custom accessor or validation methods, to use non-standard attributes, to specify dependent keys, to calculate derived values, or to implement any other custom logic. I stumbled over the non-standard attributes claim. It's just a guess: If my attribute is anything other than NSString, NSNumber or NSDate I will want to have a non-standard Attribute with special setter and getter methods? So, for example, if I wanted to store an image, this would be a non-standard Attribute with type NSData and a special method, say -(void)setImageWithFileURL:(NSURL*)url which then pulls the image data from the file, puts in in an NSData and assigns it to core data? Or did I get that wrong?

  • Why am I needing to click twice on a WPF listbox item in order to fire a command?

    Hi, I'm trying to make a standard WPF listbox be dynamically filled, and for each item in the list box to launch a command when clicked. Currently I have a working listbox, which can be filled and each item will fire the correct command, but in order to fire the command I have to click the list item twice. i.e, Click once to select the item, then click on the actual text to fire the command. As the list is dynamically created, I had to create a data template for the list items: <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Margin="4,2,4,2"> <Hyperlink TextDecorations="None" Command="MyCommands:CommandsRegistry.OpenPanel"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding}" Margin="4,2,4,2"/> </Hyperlink> </TextBlock> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> Basically, how do I remove the need to click twice? I have tried to use event triggers to fire the click event on the hyperlink element when the list box item is selected, but I can't get it to work. Or, is there a better approach to dynamically fill a listbox and attach commands to each list item? Thanks
