• Too many connections to 212.192.255.240

  Recently, my Internet slowed down drastically. I downloaded a tool to see the TCP/IP connections from my Vista computer. I found out that a lot TCP/IP connections are being connected to 212.192.255.240 through SVCHost. It seems that it is trying to connect to different ports. I think that my computer is being infected with some kind of malware etc. But I am not sure how to get rid of it. I did a little bit of research on this IP but found nothing. Any suggestions are highly appreciated. UPDATE: This is the HiJackThis log file and I can't find any thing weird. Also, the program is also trying to create connections to 91.205.127.63, which is also from Russia. Any ideas?

  I'm trying to configure my Windows 2008 servers so that my developers can view their status without needing to log on to the box or be an admin. Unfortunately, the permissions set in Windows 2008 for remote non-admin users don't include the ability to enumerate or otherwise query services. This causes anything that contacts the SCM on the far end to fail (Win32_Service, sc.exe, services.msc etc). How do I set up permissions so that they can at least list the services and see if they are running?

• Using Diskpart in a PowerShell script won't allow script to reuse drive letter

  I built a script that mounts (attach) a VHD using Diskpart, cleans out some system files and then unmounts (detach) it. It uses a foreach loop and is suppose to clean multiple VHD using the same drive letter. However, after the 1st VHD it fails. I also noticed that when I try to manually attach a VHD with diskpart, diskpart succeeds, the Disk Manager shows the disk with the correct drive letter, but within the same PoSH instance I can not connect (set-location) to that drive. If I do a manual diskpart when I 1st open PoSH I can attach and detach all I want and I get the drive letter every time. Is there something I need to do to reset diskpart in the script?   I am trying to connect to a SonicWall VPN that requires the client to fetch IP addresses from the SonicWall DHCP server. I have tried to use Linux Openswan U2.6.22/K2.6.31-20-generic (netkey), and I connect fine, but the server fails the connection: IKE Responder: WAN GroupVPN policy does not allow static IP for Virtual Adapter. Anyone that can help me with this? I am at my wits end.

  I'm trying to use robocopy to tranfer a single file from one location to another but robocopy seems to think I'm always specifying a folder. Here is an example: robocopy "c:\transfer_this.txt" "z:\transferred.txt" But I get this error instead: 2009/08/11 15:21:57 ERROR 123 (0x0000007B) Accessing Source Directory c:\transfer_this.txt\ (note the '\' at the end of transfer_this.txt) But if I treat it like an entire folder: robocopy "c:\folder" "z:\folder" It works but then I have to transfer everything in the folder. How can I only transfer a single file with robocopy?

MS-Word has this feature too - an alternative footnote numbering scheme. How can I achieve the same with LibreOffice? PS - Shouldn't the OpenOffice and LibreOffice tags be merged?

  hey guys i have a porject where i have to be able to view my webcam on my mobile phone, which happens to be a blackberry bold 9700 but can also get a hold of an i pod touch so either phone is ok to use. the problem that i have is that everytime i do a search for help on this i end up with a program which enevitably asks for money and this is not allowd in the project, ive been trying to stream using vlc player and viewing it on the opera mini for blackberry but no such luck so far, any help would be great thanks a lot

They used to run and end without abending, but now they open and stay open and I have to setup the task to quit them by force before their next scheduled run.   I have written a script that does this but it is one of my first scripts ever so i am sure there is a better way:) Let me know how you would go about doing this. I'm looking for a simple yet efficient way to do this. Here is some important background info: ( It might be a little confusing but hopefully by the end it will make sense. ) 1) This image shows the structure/location of the relevant dirs and files. 2) The packages.file located at ./config/default/config/packages is a space delimited file. field5 is the "package name" which i will call $a for explanations sake. field4 is the name of the dir containing the $a.dir i will call $b field1 shows if the package is selected or not, "X"(capital x) for selected and "O"(capital o as in orange) for not selected. Here is an example of what the packages.file might contain: ...
