  • MSI Parameter Inspection

    - by Ben Breen
    With a windows MSI file, is there a way to grab all the possible installation parameters in .NET code? I need to make a generic user interface to configure multiple MSI files not known until run-time – then install them together in one go.

  • solving problems recursively in C

    - by Harry86
    Our professor gave us the following assignment: A "correct" series is one inwhich the sum of its members equals to the index of its first member. The program is supposed to find the length of the LONGEST "correct" series within a series of n numbers. for example: if the input series would be arr[4]={1, 1, 0, 0} the output (longest "correct" series) would be 3. arr[0]=1. 0!=1 therefore the longest series here is 0. arr[1]=1,and 1=1. but the follwing members also sum up to 1 as shown below: 1=arr[1]+arr[2]+arr[3] = 1+ 0 + 0, therefore the longest series here is 3. the output in this example is 3. That's what I got so far: int solve(int arr[], int index, int length,int sum_so_far) { int maxwith,maxwithout; if(index==length) return 0; maxwith = 1+ solve(arr,index+1,length,sum_so_far+arr[index]); maxwithout = solve(arr,index+1,length,arr[index+1]); if(sum_so_far+arr[index]==index) if(maxwith>maxwithout) return maxwith; return maxwithout; return 0; } int longestIndex(int arr[], int index,int length) { return solve(arr,0,length,0); } What am I doing wrong here? Thanks a lot for your time... Harry

  • jQuery trigger extra paramter

    - by fire
    According to the jQuery manual you can send extra parameters (as an array) when calling a trigger. I am using this at the moment: $('#page0').trigger('click', [true]); How would I pick up whether the paramter has come through or not when using this? $('ul.pages li a').click(function() { // Do stuff if true has been passed as an extra parameter });

  • Spring MessageSource not being used during validation

    - by Jeremy
    I can't get my messages in messages.properties to be used during Spring validation of my form backing objects. app-config.xml: <bean id="messageSource" class="org.springframework.context.support.ResourceBundleMessageSource"> <property name="basename" value="messages" /> </bean> WEB-INF/classes/messages.properties: NotEmpty=This field should not be empty. Form Backing Object: ... @NotEmpty @Size(min=6, max=25) private String password; ... When I loop through all errors in the BindingResult and output the ObjectError's toString I get this: Field error in object 'settingsForm' on field 'password': rejected value []; codes [NotEmpty.settingsForm.password,NotEmpty.password,NotEmpty.java.lang.String,NotEmpty]; arguments [org.springframework.context.support.DefaultMessageSourceResolvable: codes [settingsForm.password,password]; arguments []; default message [password]]; default message [may not be empty] As you can see the default message is "may not be empty" instead of my message "This field should not be empty". I do get my correct message if I inject the messageSource into a controller and output this: messageSource.getMessage("NotEmpty", new Object [] {"password"}, "default empty message", null); So why isn't the validation using my messages.properties? I'm running Spring 3.1.1. Thanks!

  • Setting `axes.linewidth` without changing the `rcParams` global dict

    - by mlvljr
    So, it seems one cannot do the following (it raises an error, since axes does not have a set_linewidth method): axes_style = {'linewidth':5} axes_rect = [0.1, 0.1, 0.9, 0.9] axes(axes_rect, **axes_style) and has to use the following old trick instead: rcParams['axes.linewidth'] = 5 # set the value globally ... # some code rcdefaults() # restore [global] defaults Is there an easy / clean way (may be one can set x- and y- axes parameters individually, etc)? P.S. If no, why?

  • Large transactions causing "System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Timeout expired" error?

    - by Michael
    My application requires a user to log in and allows them to edit a list of things. However, it seems that if the same user always logs in and out and edits the list, this user will run into a "System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Timeout expired." error. I've read comments about increasing the timeout period but I've also read a comment about it possibly caused by uncommitted transactions. And I do have one going in the application. I'll provide the code I'm working with and there is an IF statement in there that I was a little iffy about but it seemed like a reasonable thing to do. I'll just go over what's going on here, there is a list of objects to update or add into the database. New objects created in the application are given an ID of 0 while existing objects have their own ID's generated from the DB. If the user chooses to delete some objects, their IDs are stored in a separate list of Integers. Once the user is ready to save their changes, the two lists are passed into this method. By use of the IF statement, objects with ID of 0 are added (using the Add stored procedure) and those objects with non-zero IDs are updated (using the Update stored procedure). After all this, a FOR loop goes through all the integers in the "removal" list and uses the Delete stored procedure to remove them. A transaction is used for all this. Public Shared Sub UpdateSomethings(ByVal SomethingList As List(Of Something), ByVal RemovalList As List(Of Integer)) Using DBConnection As New SqlConnection(conn) DBConnection.Open() Dim MyTransaction As SqlTransaction MyTransaction = DBConnection.BeginTransaction() Try For Each SomethingItem As Something In SomethingList Using MyCommand As New SqlCommand() MyCommand.Connection = DBConnection If SomethingItem.ID > 0 Then MyCommand.CommandText = "UpdateSomething" Else MyCommand.CommandText = "AddSomething" End If MyCommand.Transaction = MyTransaction MyCommand.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure With MyCommand.Parameters If MyCommand.CommandText = "UpdateSomething" Then .Add("@id", SqlDbType.Int).Value = SomethingItem.ID End If .Add("@stuff", SqlDbType.Varchar).Value = SomethingItem.Stuff End With MyCommand.ExecuteNonQuery() End Using Next For Each ID As Integer In RemovalList Using MyCommand As New SqlCommand("DeleteSomething", DBConnection) MyCommand.Transaction = MyTransaction MyCommand.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure With MyCommand.Parameters .Add("@id", SqlDbType.Int).Value = ID End With MyCommand.ExecuteNonQuery() End Using Next MyTransaction.Commit() Catch ex As Exception MyTransaction.Rollback() 'Exception handling goes here End Try End Using End Sub There are three stored procedures used here as well as some looping so I can see how something can be holding everything up if the list is large enough. Other users can log in to the system at the same time just fine though. I'm using Visual Studio 2008 to debug and am using SQL Server 2000 for the DB.

  • Ruby - Writing Hpricot data to a file

    - by John
    Hey everyone, I am currently doing some XML parsing and I've chosen to use Hpricot because of it's ease of use and syntax, however I am running into some problems. I need to write a piece of XML data that I have found out to another file. However, when I do this the format is not preserved. For example, if the content should look like this: <dict> <key>item1</key><value>12345</value> <key>item2</key><value>67890</value> <key>item3</key><value>23456</value> </dict> And assuming that there are many entries like this in the document. I am iterating through the 'dict' items by using hpricot_element = Hpricot(xml_document_body) f = File.new('some_new_file.xml') (hpricot_element/:dict).each { |dict| f.write( dict.to_original_html ) } After using the above code, I would expect that the output look like the following exactly like the XML shown above. However to my surprise, the output of the file looks more like this: <dict>\n", " <key>item1</key><value>12345</value>\n", " <key>item2</key><value>67890</value>\n", " <key>item3</key><value>23456</value\n", " </dict> I've tried splitting at the "\n" characters and writing to the file one line at a time, but that didn't seem to work either as it did not recognize the "\n" characters. Any help is greatly appreciated. It might be a very simple solution, but I am having troubling finding it. Thanks!

    - by Brenden Morley
    Okay I got code the code to pull data based on a users account number well here is what im using (And yes I know it isnt safe now that is the reason for my post) <?php include('config.php'); $user_info = fetch_user_info($_GET['AccountNumber']); ?> <html> <body> <div> <?php if ($user_info === false){ $Output = 'http://www.MyDomain.Com/'; echo '<META HTTP-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT="0; URL='.$Output.'">'; }else{ ?> <center> <title><?php echo $user_info['FirstName'], ' ', $user_info['LastName'], ' - ', $user_info['City'], ', ', $user_info['State']; ?> - Name of site</title> So basically what this code is allowing me to do is have a file called Profile.php And when a user visits this this page it will return the data Like this http://MyDomain.com/Profile.php?AccountNumber=50b9c965b7c3b How can I do this securely cause right now its using a get method really unsafe to retive the account number from the url bar.

  • Another void C# question

    - by Jim Jones
    Have a type in the header files I'm working with called VTVOID it is the type of a struct element and a number of parameters. In the header file defining types is the line #define VTVOID void I read in another discussion the void maps to System.Void however when I plug that into the C# code I get the error "System.Void cannot be used in C# -- use typeof(void) to get the void object." So what type do I plug in? Jim

  • Synfony2 validation changes invalid integer to 0

    - by Craig
    I've added validation to a form and found that in some cases it is losing the invalid data I am feeding it and saving 0s instead. The output at the bottom shows that if I post the latitude as 'zzzzzz' (clearly not a number nor between -90 and 90) the form is declared as valid and saved with the value 0 How can that happen given that I have declared the input must be a number? ProxyType.php buildForm() $builder ->add('siteName', null, array('label' => 'Site name')) .... ->add('latitude', 'number', array('label' => 'Latitude')) ->add('longitude', 'number', array('label' => 'Longitude')) .... ; ProxyController.php createAction .... $postData = $request->request->get('niwa_pictbundle_proxytype'); $this->get('logger')->info('Posted latitude = '.$postData['latitude']); $form = $this->createForm(new ProxyType(), $entity); $form->bindRequest($request); if ($form->isValid()) { $this->get('logger')->info('Form declared valid : latlong ('.$entity->getLatitude().','.$entity->getLongitude().')'); .... validation.yml Acme\PictBundle\Entity\Proxy: properties: longitude: - Min: { limit: -180 } - Max: { limit: 180 } latitude: - Max: { limit: 90 } - Min: { limit: -90 } Output [2012-09-28 02:05:30] app.INFO: Posted latitude = zzzzzz [] [] [2012-09-28 02:05:30] app.INFO: Form declared valid : latlong (0,0) [] []

  • Extracting exported functions out of a shared lib (ubuntu)

    - by Pingu
    the title already describes my problem. I found this post, but it didn't completely answers my question. With the help of it i got this output from nm... $nm -C -g -D ./libLoggingHandler.so 000000cc A _DYNAMIC ... 000042e0 T write_str(char*, char const*, int*) 00005a78 T RingBuffer::WriteUnlock() ... 00005918 T TraceLines::GetItemSize() ... U SharedMemory::attach(int, void const*, int) ... 00003810 T TraceProfile::FindLineNr(int, int) ... 00002d40 T LoggingHandler::getLogLevel() ... U SharedResource::getSharedResourceKey(char const*, int) ... which are the exported functions? I already found a hint in this post, that the "T" indicates that its getting exported. But if i check the nm manual here, it just says T - The symbol is in the text (code) section. My questions is: Does this output give me the information which functions are exported functions (or variables)? If not, how do i get it? Greetings, Pingu

  • C++ string.substr() function problem

    - by VaioIsBorn
    I want to make a program that will read some number in string format and output it like this: if the number is 12345 it should then output 12 23 34 45 . I tried using the substr() function from the c++ string library, but it gives me strange results - it outputs 1 23 345 45 instead of the expected result. Why ? #include <iostream> #include <string> #include <cstdlib> using namespace std; int main(void) { string a;cin >> a; string b;int c; for(int i=0;i<a.size()-1;++i) { b = a.substr(i,i+1); c = atoi(b.c_str()); cout << c << " "; } cout << endl; return 0; }

  • How can I skip some block content while reading in Perl.

    - by Nano HE
    Hello. I plan to skip the block content which include the start line of "MaterializeU4()" with the subroutin() read_block below. But failed. # Read a constant definition block from a file handle. # void return when there is no data left in the file. # Otherwise return an array ref containing lines to in the block. sub read_block { my $fh = shift; my @lines; my $block_started = 0; while( my $line = <$fh> ) { # how to correct my code below? I don't need the 2nd block content. $block_started++ if ( ($line =~ /^(status)/) && (index($line, "MaterializeU4") != 0) ) ; if( $block_started ) { last if $line =~ /^\s*$/; push @lines, $line; } } return \@lines if @lines; return; } Data as below: __DATA__ status DynTest = <dynamic 100> vid = 10002 name = "DynTest" units = "" status VIDNAME9000 = <U4 MaterializeU4()> vid = 9000 name = "VIDNAME9000" units = "degC" status DynTest = <U1 100> vid = 100 name = "Hello" units = "" Output: <StatusVariables> <SVID logicalName="DynTest" type="L" value="100" vid="10002" name="DynTest" units=""></SVID> <SVID logicalName="VIDNAME9000" type="L" value="MaterializeU4()" vid="9000" name="VIDNAME9000" units="degC"></SVID> <SVID logicalName="DynTest" type="L" value="100" vid="100" name="Hello" units=""></SVID> </StatusVariables> [Updated] I print the value of index($line, "MaterializeU4"), it output 25. Then I updated the code as below $block_started++ if ( ($line =~ /^(status)/) && (index($line, "MaterializeU4") != 25) Now it works. Any comments are welcome about my practice. Thank you.

  • mysql innodb:innodb_flush_method

    - by Daniel
    in the following link http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/innodb-parameters.html#sysvar_innodb_flush_method it says:Different values of this variable can have a marked effect on InnoDB performance. For example, on some systems where InnoDB data and log files are located on a SAN, it has been found that setting innodb_flush_method to O_DIRECT can degrade performance of simple SELECT statements by a factor of three. Why O_DIRECT could slow down the select statement?

  • Preventing a child process (HandbrakeCLI) from causing the parent script to exit

    - by Chris
    I have a batch conversion script to turn .mkvs of various dimensions into ipod/iphone sized .mp4s, cropping/scaling to suit. Determining the original dimensions, required crop, output file is all working fine. However, on successful completion of the first conversion, HandbrakeCLI causes the parent script to exit. Why would this be? And how can I stop it? The code, as it currently stands: #!/bin/bash find . -name "*.mkv" | while read FILE do # What would the output file be? DST=../Touch/$(dirname "$FILE") MKV=$(basename "$FILE") MP4=${MKV%%.mkv}.mp4 # If it already exists, don't overwrite it if [ -e "$DST/$MP4" ] then echo "NOT overwriting $DST/$MP4" else # Stuff to determine dimensions/cropping removed for brevity HandbrakeCLI --preset "iPhone & iPod Touch" --vb 900 --crop $crop -i "$FILE" -o "$DST/$MP4" > /dev/null 2>&1 if [ $? != 0 ] then echo "$FILE had problems" >> errors.log fi fi done I have additionally tried it with a trap, but that didn't change the behaviour (although the last trap did fire) trap "echo Handbrake SIGINT-d" SIGINT trap "echo Handbrake SIGTERM-d" SIGTERM trap "echo Handbrake EXIT-d" EXIT trap "echo Handbrake 0-d" 0
