If the Start date is 06/23/2008 and End date is 06/30/2008 Then I need the Output of query as 06/23/2008 06/24/2008 06/25/2008 . . . 06/30/2008 I Created a Table names as Integer which has 1 Column, column values are 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 then I used the below mentioned query Tried Query SELECT DATEADD(d, H.i * 100 + T .i * 10 + U.i, '" & dtpfrom.Value & "') AS Dates FROM integers H CROSS JOIN integers T CROSS JOIN integers U order by dates The above query is displaying 999 Dates only. 999 Dates means (365 + 365 + 269) Dates Only. Suppose I want to select more than 3 Years (01/01/2003 to 01/01/2008). The above query should not suitable. How to modify my query? Or any other query is available for the above condition.     Hi all, I have a system whereby a user can view categories that they've subscribed to individually, and also those that are available in the region they belong in by default. So, the tables are as follows: Categories UsersCategories RegionsCategories I'm querying the db for all the categories within their region, and also all the individual categories that they've subscribed to. My query is as follows: Select * FROM (categories c) LEFT JOIN users_categories uc on uc.category_id = c.id LEFT JOIN regions_categories rc on rc.category_id = c.id WHERE (rc.region_id = ? OR uc.user_id = ?) At least I believe that's the query, I'm creating it using Cake's ORM layer, so the exact one is: $conditions = array( array( "OR" => array ( 'RegionsCategories.region_id' => $region_id, 'UsersCategories.user_id' => $user_id ) )); $this->find('all', $conditions); This turns out to be incredibly slow (sometimes around 20 seconds or so. Each table has around 5,000 rows). Is my design at fault here? How can I retrieve both the users' individual categories and those within their region all in one query without it taking ages? Thanks!

Things to note: Any number of categories can be between 'mydomain.com/' and '/designer'. For instance the url could be http://my.project/mydomain.com/designer/4/designer-name/page.html or it could be http://my.project/mydomain.com/tops/shirts/small/designer/4/designer-name/page.html A query string may be provided in the original url that needs to be preserved in the rewritten url. For example url provided could be: http://my.project/mydomain.com/designer/4/designer-name/page.html?color=red&type=shirt Given the url above the resulting url would need to be: http://my.projects/mydomain.com/page.html?designer=4&color=red&type=shirt The order of the query string does not matter. The 'designer=4' part could come before or after the rest of the query string. I'm new to .htaccess and re-writes so any examples and or explanations would be greatly appreciated.     I need to convert a list of numbers that fall within certain ranges into a list of values, ordered by a priority column. The table has the following values: | YEAR | R_MIN | R_MAX | VAL | PRIO | ------------------------------------ 2010 18000 90100 52 6 2010 240000 240099 82 3 2010 250000 259999 50 5 2010 260000 260010 92 1 2010 330000 330010 73 4 2010 330011 370020 50 5 2010 380000 380050 84 2 The ranges will be different for different years. The ranges within one year will never overlap. The input will be a year and a list of numbers that might fall within one these ranges. The list of input number will be small, 1 to 10 numbers. Example of input numbers: (20000, 240004, 375000, 255000) With that input I would like to get a list ordered by the priority column, or a single value: 82 50 52 The only value I'm interested in here is 82, so UNIQUE and MAX_RESULTS=1 would do. It can easily be done with one query per number, and then sorting it in the Java code, but I would prefer to do it in a single SQL query. What SQL query, to be run in an Oracle database, would give me the desired result?

    I tried to find through various sources but still unable to understand difference between routed events and attached events in WPF. Most of the places of reference for attached event following example is used: <StackPanel Button.Click="StackPanel_Click"> <Button Content="Click Me!" Height="35" Width="150" Margin="5" /> </StackPanel> Explained as: stack panel do not contain Click event and hence Button.Click event is attached to Stack Panel. Where as msdn says: You can also name any event from any object that is accessible through the default namespace by using a typename.event partially qualified name; this syntax supports attaching handlers for routed events where the handler is intended to handle events routing from child elements, but the parent element does not also have that event in its members table. This syntax resembles an attached event syntax, but the event here is not a true attached event. Instead, you are referencing an event with a qualified name. According to MSDN information as pasted above, the above example of Buttons and StackPanel is actually a routed event example and not true attached event example. In case if above example is truly about usage of attached event (Button.Click="StackPanel_Click") then it's in contradiction to the information as provided at MSDN which says Another syntax usage that resembles typename.eventname attached event syntax but is not strictly speaking an attached event usage is when you attach handlers for routed events that are raised by child elements. You attach the handlers to a common parent, to take advantage of event routing, even though the common parent might not have the relevant routed event as a member. A similar question was raised in this Stack Overflow post, but unfortunately this question was closed before it could collect any response. Please help me to understand how attached events are different from routed events and also clarify the ambiguity as pointed above.

    At times a Database Administrator, or even a developer is required to wear a spy’s hat. This necessity oftentimes is dictated by a need to take a glimpse into a black-box application for reasons varying from a performance issue to an unauthorized access to data or resources, or as in my most recent case, a closed source custom application that was abandoned by a deserted contractor without source code. It may not be news or unknown to most IT people that SQL Server has always provided means of back-door access to everything connecting to its database. This indispensible tool is SQL Server Profiler. This “gem” is always quietly sitting in the Start – Programs – SQL Server <product version> – Performance Tools folder (yes, it is for performance analysis mostly, but not limited to) ready to help you! So, to the action, let’s start it up. Once ready click on the File – New Trace button, or using Ctrl-N with your keyboard. The standard connection dialog you have seen in SSMS comes up where you connect the standard way: One side note here, you will be able to connect only if your account belongs to the sysadmin or alter trace fixed server role. Upon a successful connection you must be able to see this initial dialog: At this stage I will give a hint: you will have a wide variety of predefined templates: But to shorten your time to results you would need to opt for using the TSQL_Grouped template. Now you need to set it up. In some cases, you will know the principal’s login name (account) that needs to be monitored in advance, and in some (like in mine), you will not. But it is VERY helpful to monitor just a particular account to minimize the amount of results returned. So if you know it you can already go to the Event Section tab, then click the Column Filters button which would bring a dialog below where you key in the account being monitored without any mask (or whildcard):  If you do not know the principal name then you will need to poke around and look around for things like a config file where (typically!) the connection string is fully exposed.     Once upon a time, I heard from someone the only difference between programming languages is the syntax I wanted to deny it - to say that there are other fundamental aspects that truly set a language apart from others than just syntax. But I couldn't... So, can you? Whenever I search Google for something like "differences between programming languages", the results tend to be debates between two specific languages (I'd like something more general) - however, some of the aspects that people seemed to debate the most were: Object-Oriented Method/Operator overloading (I actually see this rather related to syntax) Garbage-Collection (While it seems like a good difference, for some reason it doesn't seem that "fundamental") What important aspects other than syntax can you think of?

    So a situation I run into reasonably often is one where my models start to either: Grow into monsters with tons and tons of methods OR Allow you to pass pieces of SQL to them, so that they are flexible enough to not require a million different methods For example, say we have a "widget" model. We start with some basic methods: get($id) insert($record) update($id, $record) delete($id) getList() // get a list of Widgets That's all fine and dandy, but then we need some reporting: listCreatedBetween($start_date, $end_date) listPurchasedBetween($start_date, $end_date) listOfPending() And then the reporting starts to get complex: listPendingCreatedBetween($start_date, $end_date) listForCustomer($customer_id) listPendingCreatedBetweenForCustomer($customer_id, $start_date, $end_date) You can see where this is growing... eventually we have so many specific query requirements that I either need to implement tons and tons of methods, or some sort of "query" object that I can pass to a single -query(query $query) method... ... or just bite the bullet, and start doing something like this: list = MyModel-query(" start_date X AND end_date < Y AND pending = 1 AND customer_id = Z ") There's a certain appeal to just having one method like that instead of 50 million other more specific methods... but it feels "wrong" sometimes to stuff a pile of what's basically SQL into the controller. Is there a "right" way to handle situations like this? Does it seem acceptable to be stuffing queries like that into a generic -query() method? Are there better strategies?

    Hi Guys I have (yet another) powershell query. I have an array in powershell which i need to use the remove() and split commands on. Normally you set an array (or variable) and the above methods exist. On the below $csv2 array both methods are missing, i have checked using the get-member cmd. How can i go about using remove to get rid of lines with nan.   • Why does SQL Server 2000 treat SELECT test.* and SELECT t.est.* the same?

    I butter-fingered a query in SQL Server 2000 and added a period in the middle of the table name: SELECT t.est.* FROM test Instead of: SELECT test.* FROM test And the query still executed perfectly. Even SELECT t.e.st.* FROM test executes without issue. I've tried the same query in SQL Server 2008 where the query fails (error: the column prefix does not match with a table name or alias used in the query). For reasons of pure curiosity I have been trying to figure out how SQL Server 2000 handles the table names in a way that would allow the butter-fingered query to run, but I haven't had much luck so far. Any sql gurus know why SQL Server 2000 ran the query without issue? Update: The query appears to work regardless of the interface used (e.g. Enterprise Manager, SSMS, OSQL) and as Jhonny pointed out below it bizarrely even works when you try: SELECT TOP 1000 dbota.ble.* FROM dbo.table

    Hey everyone, I'm new to persistence / hibernate and I need your help. Here's the situation. I have a table that contains some stuff. Let's call them Persons. I'd like to get all the entries from the database that are in that table. I have a Person class that is a simple POJO with a property for each column in the table (name, age,..) Here's what I have : Query lQuery = myEntityManager.createQuery("from Person") List<Person> personList = lQuery.getResultList(); However, I get a warning saying that this is an unchecked conversion from List to List<Person> I thought that simply changing the code to Query lQuery = myEntityManager.createQuery("from Person") List<Person> personList = (List<Person>)lQuery.getResultList(); would work.. but it doesn't. Is there a way to do this ? Does persistence allow me to set the return type of the query ? (Through generics maybe ? )

    I'm trying to get some query performance improved, but the generated query does not look the way I expect it to. The results are retrieved using: query = session.query(SomeModel). options(joinedload_all('foo.bar')). options(joinedload_all('foo.baz')). options(joinedload('quux.other')) What I want to do is filter on the table joined via 'first', but this way doesn't work: query = query.filter(FooModel.address == '1.2.3.4') It results in a clause like this attached to the query: WHERE foos.address = '1.2.3.4' Which doesn't do the filtering in a proper way, since the generated joins attach tables foos_1 and foos_2. If I try that query manually but change the filtering clause to: WHERE foos_1.address = '1.2.3.4' AND foos_2.address = '1.2.3.4' It works fine. The question is of course - how can I achieve this with sqlalchemy itself?

    Hi, I built a class that allows me to do: $db->query($query); and it works perfectly, although if I want to do: $db->query($query); while($row = $db->fetch_assoc()){ $db->query($anotherquery); echo $db->result(); } it "breaks" the class. I don't want to constantly have to redeclare my class (eg: $seconddb = new database()), is there a way to get around this? I want to be able to reuse $db within $db, without overwriting the "outside" db. currently I'm create an array of data (from db-fetch_assoc() then doing a foreach and then doing the db call inside that: $db->query('SELECT * FROM table'); while($row = $db->fetch_assoc()){ $arr[] = $row; } foreach($arr as $a){ $db->query(); // query and processing here } Is this the best method or am I missing the obvious? Should I consider passing a connection link ID with the database connection?

    I wish to count the number of objects returned from a query (but I do not need the actual objects themselves) from Sun Java System Directory Server 5.2. E.g., if I want to find all people with surname Smith, I would want something like ldapsearch -LLL -H ldaps://example.com -b "ou=people,dc=example,dc=com" "sn=Smith" but with some sort of count. Is this possible without returning all of the results?

  • getting warning messages "avahi-daemon[3201]: Invalid query packet." on suse 10.1 server with raid 1

    I had recently replaced a failing hard drive on my software raid 1 system with suse 10.1 , and i am checking for any warning messages on " var/log/warn " and i found this message "avahi-daemon[3201]: Invalid query packet." more than 12 times , i am new to these stuff , should i be concerned , is there something wrong with the system , can i check anywhere else to find out if there is any problem with the system. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance.
