  Ringo is a delegate of Paul's mailbox in Exchange, but when Ringo sends mail from Paul's mailbox, the recipient sees "Paul" in the sender field, rather than "Paul Sent On Behalf Of Ringo" Paul has set "Editor" permissions for Ringo to his mailbox, and Ringo has been granted "Send on behalf of" permissions in Exchange. Ringo did at one time have "Send As" permissions for Paul's mailbox in Exchange, but this has since been removed. This is also the case for all other delegates to Paul's mailbox. How do I make it so that emails sent by Paul's delegates show the "Sent On Behalf Of" information in the Sender field? Using Exchange Server 2007 and Microsoft Office Outlook 2007

• I am unable to connect to my netbook from any machine on my network until the netbook has pinged it

  I have a rather strange issue with my netbook on my local network. When trying to connect to it in any way from a remote system it does not appear to find it. However if I get the netbook to ping the machine trying to connect it mystically appears to work. Below is the ping test from my main PC to the netbook.   Hi all, I have a class which provides generic access to LINQ to SQL entities, for example: class LinqProvider<T> //where T is a L2S entity class { DataContext context; public virtual IEnumerable<T> GetAll() { return context.GetTable<T>(); } public virtual T Single(Func<T, bool> condition) { return context.GetTable<T>().SingleOrDefault(condition); } } From the front end, both of these methods appear to work as you would expect. However, when I run a trace in SQL profiler, the Single method is executing what amounts to a SELECT * FROM [Table], and then returning the single entity that meets the given condition. Obviously this is inefficient, and is being caused by GetTable() returning all rows. My question is, how do I get the query executed by the Single() method to take the form SELECT * FROM [Table] WHERE [condition], rather than selecting all rows then filtering out all but one? Is it possible in this context? Any help appreciated, Lee

• Is it safe to catch an access violation in this scenario?

  I've read a lot, including here on SO that suggests this is a very bad idea in general and that the only thing you can do safely is exit the program. I'm not sure that this is true. This is for a pooling memory allocator that hands off large allocations to malloc. During pool_free() a pointer needs to be checked it it belongs to a pool or was allocated with malloc. By rounding the address down to the nearest 1MB boundary, I get a pointer to the beginning of a block of memory in the pool, or undefined if malloc was used. In the first case I can easily verify that the block of memory belongs to the pool, but, if it does not I will either fail this verification, or I will get an access violation (note that this is a read-only process). Could I not catch this with SEH (Windows) or handle the signal (POSIX) and simply treat it as a failed verification? (i.e. this is only possible if malloc was used, so pass the ptr to free())

  I've got an ActiveMQ ESB that I am using between several C# assemblies across a couple different systems. I need to start receiving notifications being sent out by a new system from it's HornetQ ESB. As far as I can tell the HornetQ is pre-2.0.0GA. I'd like to just use Camel to set up routing between the HornetQ ESB and my ActiveMQ ESB, but so far we haven't been able to get even that far. I'm not sure how much flexibility I've got to change the HornetQ configuration (say to add support for StompConnect or something like that). Does anyone of a viable option for getting access to the HornetQ ESB through ActiveMQ (or directly from C# if necessary)?

  This may be an Nginx wrinkle, or it may be because I don't understand Unix permissions. We're using Hudson CI to deploy our staging instance. So RAILS_ROOT is /var/lib/hudson/jobs/JOBNAME/workspace. Hudson runs as hudson user Nginx runs as www-data user hudson and nginx are both members of the www group root of my nginx conf points to RAILS_ROOT/public as per normal. RAILS_ROOT/config/environment.rb is owned by www-data (so Passenger runs as www-data) RAILS_ROOT and everything in it is owned by the www group and group has r/w/x permissions As it stood, Nginx threw 403 permission denied when requesting any url. error.log contained entries like this: public/index.html" is forbidden (13: Permission denied). These did not fix the or change the error (each with a stop/start of Ngnix): chmod 777 -R RAILS_ROOT chgrp www -R /var/lib/hudson I also tried Nginx as root, and passenger complained that it could not find config/environment (despite the path displayed on the error page being correct). The fix was to ensure everybody has read permissions on each directory in the heirachy. In this case chmod o+r /var/lib/hudson. But if the group has read permissions on the directory, and nginx is a member of the owner group of the directory, why was it necessary to allow everyone read permissions?   Why I expect this is not the best way to solve the problem, I got thinking tonight. I'm thinking about geo-locating servers. Given we have a load balancer + two servers to handle traffic in NA (North America) and one server in the EU. If the two US servers die, is it possible to get HAProxy to direct traffic automatically to the EU one. However, I don't want to use a roundrobin approach for the EU - just the two US ones. The EU should only be hit when the other two are down. Does anyone know how to configure HAProxy to do this? Thanks Ben

• Cut in excel doesn't work, and copying tables from one program to another returns text

  My excel 2007 on Windows 7 operating system seems to have a probelm with regular cut function. when I highlight cells I want to cut and press cut (either on keyboard shortcut Ctrl+x, Home menu cut command, or from the right-click menu) cells start flashing for a split second and after that they only turn normal. When I want to paste them, they past as if copy function was used. If I try to rightclick to use function "insert cut cells" it is not one of the offered options at all. On my home computer I have same combination, Excel 2007 on windows 7 and it works just fine. COuld the problem be due to 64-bit win7 version at my job, and 32-bit version at home? Another problem is when I copy table from excel to word, in word pasting results in unformatted text instead of table as it was in excel. Did someone have such problems and can offer a solution?   I am just looking for an existing app that will let me read all the tags that are stored in a particular song on my ipod touch/iphone. I'm not much of a programmer, but would be willing to learn the iphone sdk (on windows) if I could build a program that would do this for me. I would love to be able to modify the tag while on the iphone, but just viewing them would be a great use to me. I'd like to read the Year tag, the comments tag, composer, etc. It's so annoying that I can't do this. Or can I already and I just don't know how. Yes, I know how to view the lyrics tag.   I have some encrypted pdf files that have no problem and in my last windows, I could open them easily with Adobe Reader 9.2 and other pdf readers. But now, I can only open non-encrypted pdf files and one encrypted file with Adobe Reader. every time I open almost any encrypted pdf, it closes itself. Also, when I try to search a folder for a keyword with Foxit Reader, once it closed. This is not related to Adobe Reader, because I have the same problem with Word 2007.   Hello, I'm trying to figure out how to access from my development machine (Devel) to a third party web service (www.domain.com) which I am not allowed to directly contact using my office IP address. So in order to access the web service I have to ssh into A, and then from A to B to access www.domain.com Is there any way of tunneling traffic from B to A and then back to my development machine so I can directly access www.domain.com without having to ssh into every box? Essentially, http://example.com calls the web service to find out the location of all map markers to display like so: http://example.com/json/?zipcode=12345 And it returns a JSON string such as: {"address": "321 Main St, Mountain View, CA, USA", ...} So on my index.html page, I take that JSON string and place the map markers. However, what I don't want to have happen is people calling out to my JSON web service directly. I only want http://example.com/index.html to be able to call my http://example.com/json/ web service ... and not some random dude calling the /json/ directly. Quesiton: how do I prevent direct calling/access to my http://example.com/json/ web service?

• Visio 2010 Reverse Engineer Oracle

  I have used Visio 2007 in the past to reverse engineer Oracle databases to get a flow scheme. I believe all Office 2007 products were x86 as well which is where I suspect my issue currently lies. I have since upgraded to Visio 2010 x64 and when I go to reverse engineer something from Oracle it shows up under Installed Visio Drivers but I can't seem to create a data source using it. My assumption here is it is because Oracle doesn't play nicely with x64 and with Visio being compiled as x64 I don't even get the option to use it. Has anyone done this with Visio 2010 x64 and Oracle yet? Or are there other tools you would recommend to reverse engineer and get a model such as the one generated by Visio?

• How to disable internet access at night on the router?

  I have an internet connection that I'd like to be enabled only during the day. With multiple household internet devices, this would need to be something disabled at the level of the router. I don't believe the router offers this sort of functionality, but I'm reasonably familiar with setting up web servers and the like, and I'm wondering if I can set up some sort of proxy server on the internet that the router must go through and have that proxy only active at certain times of day. It's a bit vague I know, but is something like this even possible? If not, are there other solutions to the problem?

  I'm working with a fanless PC that has an ARM chipset, 2 eth plugs and a wifi card (among other things). If I install debian 6 on it all three network interfaces are available at boot time. Today I tried to install debian 7 and had numerous errors indicating that the wireless card isn't supported. uap0: error fetching interface information: Device not found SIOCSIFADDR: No such device uap0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device uap0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device No such device ERR:UAPHOSTCMD is not supported by uap0 ERR:Command sending failed! I've tried comparing the kernel module list to the working system but there are too many other differences to make something obvious enough (to me) stand out. How would I get started debugging this problem?

  I am using Mail.app (running snow leopard) to connect to my email account on my school's Exchange 2007 server. I get my Inbox just fine, and iCal connects to my Outlook Calendar just fine, but I cannot seem to get any of the Exchange Public Folders that I can automatically see when I am using Outlook on a Windows box. • How to troubleshoot a remote wmi query/access failure?

  I'm using Powershell to query a remote computer in a domain for a wmi object, eg: "gwmi -computer test -class win32_bios". I get this error message: Value does not fall within the expected range Executing the query local under the same user works fine. It seems to happen on both windows 2003 and also 2008 systems. The user that runs the shell has admin rights on the local and remote server. I checked wmi and dcom permissions as far as I know how to do this, they seem to be the same on a server where it works, and another where it does not. I think it is not a network issue, all ports are open that are needed, and it also happens within the same subnet. When sniffing the traffic we see the following errors: RPC: c/o Alter Cont Resp: Call=0x2 Assoc Grp=0x4E4E Xmit=0x16D0 Recv=0x16D0 Warning: GssAPIMechanism is not found, either caused by not reassembled, conversation off or filtering. And an errormessage from Kerberos: Kerberos: KRB_ERROR - KDC_ERR_BADOPTION (13) The option code in the packet is 0x40830000 Any idea what I should look into?
