• How do you backup your localhost ?

  i have method to backup my work on localhost based on week basis. i use multipe dos command and save in on a bat file. i use command such as copy and xcopy and save my localhost to another place. After my server grow larger, i think it take too much space. So tehre is a way to solve this problem ? maybe a software that can track changes on our php code. EDIT : I use windows xp sp2, on XAMPP Apache PHP 5.2.1 the localhost refer to my laptop. i install the localhost server here

  I'm trying to figure out which property of BoxComponentEvent will tell me if the generated OnMouseWheel event was a scroll-up or scroll-down event. I have output the values of all the properties BoxComponentEvent exposes; and all of them (with the exception of the coordinates at which the event took place) stay the same regardless. • Repeater and add columns to header and itemtemplate on page load

  I haven't used repeaters for much more than showing data from a datatable. I am building a grid that that shows a list of users and columns of roles that the user has been assigned, shown with checkboxes (shown with true/false below but pretent they are checkboxes). ex. |Rep Name|Caller|Closer|Manager|SuperUser| |Bob |True |true | false | false | |Tom |false |false |True | True | Basically using it for roles management. However the roles may change later on so I want to load the roles(headers and items) dynamically into the repeater. I am not sure how to do this or if it is even possible. I figure you grab a list of current role possibilities and load them into the headertemplate but I am not sure how to match those with the itemtemplate and how to create checkboxes and place them in the itemtemplate. Sorry if it is a rudementary question.... I appreciate any advice!

• Silverlight tests not working unless RDP connection open

  I have a few Silverlight UI tests that I'm automating with White. These tests are subsequently run by a TFS build agent, which is running interactively so it can access the desktop. The build passes if I have a Remote Desktop connection open to the build agent as the tests are run; I can see the mouse pointer moving around. When the test clicks on a HyperlinkButton navigation takes place, and is subsequently verified by assertions within the test. The build fails if I do not have a Remote Desktop connection open to the build agent as the tests are run. The Internet Explorer window is created and the Silverlight app loads, but no clicks happen; the application remains on the initial page and test assertions subsequently fail. Has anyone out there found a solution to this problem?

  I'm creating a program that checks if a word or phrase is a palindrome. I have the actual "palindrome tester" figured out. What I'm stuck with is where and what to place in my code to have the console read out "Enter palindrome..." and then text. I've tried with IO but it doesnt work out right. Also, how do I create a loop to keep going? • SSIS - Wizard vs manual vs programming

  I'd like to move 26 tables from one DB to another. I see I can do this in the SSIS Import and Export Wizard. I believe the other approach would be to select tools from the toolbar in Data Flow and then configure them all. When is it better to use the wizard and when is it best to create the package manually (with the visual tools) or programmatically? One thing I noticed with the Wizard is that it lets me select multiple tables at once, but I could not find a way to get back to that screen once the package is created, so that I could edit the various tables all in one place.

• Using background-attachment:fixed in safari on the ipad

  I'm looking to recreate an effect similiar to the popular science app. Basically have one big background image and then have HTML/CSS layer on top of that. When the user scrolls the content, then background-position of the image should remain in place, and not scroll. Obviously in a 'regular' browser I would use background-attachment:fixed, but this doesn't seem to work on the ipad. I know position:fixed doesn't work as you might expect according to safari spec - but is there any way of achieving this?

As soon as order is place i need to notify the System B. I have done a quick POC with Trigger , Service Broker and SQLNotificaiton ADO.NET. It is working as i expected. What i would like to know the group A) What are the best practices i need to follow for this? B) What are disadvantages with the above approach if any? C) Are there any disadvantes of using the Triggers? If so what are those for above approach? The order table will get order from System A like 1000 to 1500 every day. I also would like to know the performance of above approach.

• Need to increase nginx throughput to an upstream unix socket -- linux kernel tuning?

  I am running an nginx server that acts as a proxy to an upstream unix socket, like this: upstream app_server { server unix:/tmp/app.sock fail_timeout=0; } server { listen ###.###.###.###; server_name whatever.server; root /web/root; try_files $uri @app; location @app { proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-Proto $scheme; proxy_set_header Host $http_host; proxy_redirect off; proxy_pass http://app_server; } } Some app server processes, in turn, pull requests off /tmp/app.sock as they become available. The particular app server in use here is Unicorn, but I don't think that's relevant to this question. The issue is, it just seems that past a certain amount of load, nginx can't get requests through the socket at a fast enough rate. It doesn't matter how many app server processes I set up, it doesn't even matter what the app is (tried it with a dummy app with just a single endpoint that returned an empty page with status 404). The bottleneck seems to be the socket, not the app. I'm getting a flood of these messages in the nginx error log: connect() to unix:/tmp/app.sock failed (11: Resource temporarily unavailable) while connecting to upstream Many requests result in status code 502, and those that don't take a long time to complete. The nginx write queue stat hovers around 1000. Anyway, I feel like I'm missing something obvious here, because this particular configuration of nginx and app server is pretty common, especially with Unicorn (it's the recommended method in fact). Are there any linux kernel options that needs to be set, or something in nginx? Any ideas about how to increase the throughput to the upstream socket? Something that I'm clearly doing wrong? • tabIndex fails in an AS3 swf loaded into a flex app

  I feel like I'm missing something really simple here. I'm loading a AS3 swf containing a form (created by one of our designers) into a flex app. The swf's tabIndex properties work fine when the swf is viewed by itself, however, once it's loaded into the flex app: <mx:SWFLoader source="form.swf" top="20" horizontalCenter="0" id="formSwf" complete="swfCompleteHandler(event)"/> the form fields stop receiving focus on tab. I've been looking at the FocusManager in flex, for some sort of solution, but I can't seem to find any examples, and I'm not entirely sure I'm looking in the right place. Am I stuck redoing this form in flex?

• Indy FTP, large files and NAT routers

  Hello! I have been using Indy to transfers files via FTP for years now but have not been able to find a satisfactory solution for the following problem. When a user is uploading a large file, behind a router, sometimes the following happens: the file is uploaded OK, but under the mean time the command channel gets disconnected because of a timeout. Normally this doesn't happens with a direct connection to the server, because the server "knows" that a transfer is being taking place on the data channel. Some routers are not aware of this, though and the command channel is closed. Many programs send a NOOP command periodically to keep the command channel alive even if this is not part of the standard FTP specification. My question: how do I do that? Do I send the NOOP command in the OnWork event? Does this cause any collateral damage in some way, like, do I need to process some response? How do I best solve this problem?

  I see these terms banded around all over the place in programming and I have a vague notion of what they mean. A search shows me that such things have been asked all over stack overflow in fact. As far as I'm aware Static/Dynamic typing in languages is subtly different to Strong/Weak typing but what that difference is eludes me. Different sources seem to use different different meanings or even use the terms interchangeably. I can't find somewhere that talks about both and actually spells out the difference. What would be nice is if someone could please spell this out clearly here for me and the rest of the world.

On my side, I have a linux based firewall running debian with openswan installed. I am having an issue with getting to Phase 2 of the VPN negotiation. • Intellij + GWT 2: Development Mode ignores changes to static content

  The new Development Mode in GWT 2 is awesome, but unfortunately as launched from Intellij IDEA 9, it does not seem to notice changes made to static files such as html, css, etc. It immediately see changes in *.java files, but not the static ones. If I make a change in a static file I need to quite the Development Mode tool and re-launch it. This is painfully slow, and negates much of the point of using dev mode in the first place I assume this is some artifact resulting from the way the Intellij runner launches it- it creates an out/artifacts/project_war_exploded directory with the static content and class files. How can I get Intellij Dev Mode tool to follow changes made to the original static source files?

• Storable Geocoding/reverse Geocoding services

  Im currently looking into an easy way to query and store Latitude/Longitude for a given address. There are a plentitude of services out there, but none actually allows me to store the data I retieve (i.e. Google Maps API TOS, Yahoo! Maps API TOS). As I wan't to use them for a distance search I can't really query the data on the fly. Are there any services that acutally allow to store the location you get for an adress? And I want to do it more or less worldwide. (As a side question, I might need the other way around soon, getting from latitude/longitude to an address or place name, but this falls under the same terms as the above).

• What's the convention for extending Linq with set based helper operations

  Hi All I might be vaguing out here but I'm looking for a nice place to put set based helper operations in linq so I can do things like; db.Selections.ClearTemporary() which does something like db.DeleteAllOnSubmit(db.Selections.Where(s => s.Temporary)) Since I can figure out how to extend Table<Selection> the best I can do is create a static method in partial class of Selection (similar to Ruby) but I have to pass in the datacontext like; Selection.ClearTemporary(MyDataContext) This kind of sucks because I have two conventions for doing set based operations and I have to pass the data context to the static class. I've seen other people recommending piling helper methods into a partial of the datacontext like; myDataContext.ClearTemporarySelections(); But I feel this makes the dc a dumping ground for in-cohesive operations. Surely I'm missing something. I hope so. What's the convention? TIA

• deriving from NSTabViewItem

  I'm writing a Cocoa app. One dialog has 3 tabs, some of the tabs needs more loading time, so I want to load them lazily. Since each Tab is a NSTabViewItem class, so I'm trying to derive from it and overriding its view property. In the view getter method, I use a ViewController to load a view and returns out. In Debugging, I found NSTabViewItem -view method is get called correctly, but after that NSTabView tries to set Initial FirstResponder and crashed with message: * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: 'In -[NSTabViewItem setInitialFirstResponder:], the first responder must descend from the tab view item's view. (Item: Invalid responder: )' I tried to override the -initialFirstResponder method to return a sub-view of my loaded view, but it still crashes the same place. does anyone know how to get it work correctly? Also is it correct way to do this by deriving the NSTabViewItem? thanks! -Jonny

  Hello, Just learning Python and trying to do a nested for loop. What I'd like to do in the end is place a bunch of email addresses in a file and have this script find the info, like the sending IP of mail ID. For now i'm testing it on my /var/log/auth.log file Here is my code so far: #!/usr/bin/python # this section puts emails from file(SpamEmail) in to a array(array) in_file = open("testFile", "r") array = in_file.readlines() in_file.close() # this section opens and reads the target file, in this case 'auth.log' log = open("/var/log/auth.log", "r") auth = log.readlines() for email in array: print "Searching for " +email, for line in auth: if line.find(email) > -1: about = line.split() print about[0], print Inside 'testfile' I have the word 'disconnect' cause I know it's in the auth.log file. It just doesn't find the word 'disconnect'. In the line of "if line.find(email) -1:" i can replace email and put "disconnect" the scripts finds it fine. Any idea? Thanks in advance. Gary

But the comment symbol // works with MVS 2008 and this symbol is in C99. I have two questions: To what extent MVS 2008 support C99? Is it ok in the same code to mix C89 and C99 syntax together? So if I write my code in C89 and then place a comment //. This means that I have mixed-coding. So what does the compiler do in such a case? Check my code first with c89 and then with C99 to accept that I use // for commenting? Thanks a lot...

How do I stop that? While also, making sure that it shows in the top left corner of each of the boxes on all browser sizes? So position:absolute will keep it in one place regardless of what happens around it. But it won't put it in the exact same position (relatively) on diff browser sizes. But position:relative will. How do I get the best of both worlds?

  Alright, I have an issue with the following code. What happens is when a user closes their browser, it should prompt them to either click OK or click CANCEL to leave the page. Clicking OK would trigger a window.location to redirect to another page for user tracking (and yes, to avoid flame wars, there is a secondary system in place to assure accurate tracking, in the event of the user killing the browser from the task manager (as mentioned in similar questions)). CANCEL would remain on the page, the issue being that no matter what button you hit, you get redirected as if you wanted to leave the page. • Bug in MvcFutures LinkBuilder.BuildUrlFromExpression

  I hope this is the right place to post this. The following code fails in the latest build of the MVC futures library. This works and correctly calls my controller: Html.ActionLink<CreatePlayerController>(x => x.PlayerDetails(), "Click") This fails: LinkBuilder.BuildUrlFromExpression<CreatePlayerController>(null, Html.RouteCollection, x => x.PlayerDetails() ) The error is: System.InvalidOperationException: The IControllerFactory 'SF.Client.Website.StructureMapControllerFactory' did not return a controller for the name 'CreatePlayer'. My StructureMapControllerFactory. GetControllerInstance method is never called. Do I need to register my controller factory in some other way? It seems like the MvcFutures code is ignoring it.
