• Automated Testing tools for HTML5 Canvas

  I'm looking for a tool to do some automated GUI testing on a HTML5 canvas component we're developing. Basically I'm looking for a tool that is able to record the clicks and events on the canvas component and is able to replay those events. So far most of the testing tools like Telerik WebUI Testing Suite, Selenium, TestSwarm, qUnit, Jasmine, Hudson seems that they don't fully support HTML5 canvas testing. Would you guys know a testing tool that already supports that ? If not, would you know how companies are doing automated testing of HTML5 canvas ? Thanks, Andy N.

• How may I see the data in the Oracle view like I see it through the application ?

  when I navigate through the Oracle application with my application user and the right responsibility, I see the data. I use the "record history" menu to see which table/view is used by application. So, I got PA_EXPEND_ITEMS_ADJUST2_V. When I'm connected with apps user in a sqlplus session, SELECT * FROM PA_EXPEND_ITEMS_ADJUST2_V gives me 0 rows. I guess that there's something is misconfigurated with the apps but what ? How may I view the rows of PA_EXPEND_ITEMS_ADJUST2_V using apps user in a sqlplus session ? How may I see the data in the Oracle view like I see it through the application ?

Each thread will have an unique key for accessing the dictionary; Dictionary<string, List<Result>> summary; Do I need locking for following operations? summary[key] = new List<Result>() summary[key].Add(new Result()); It seems that I don't need locking because each thread will access dictionary with different key, but won't the (1) be problematic because of adding concurrently new record to dictionary with other treads?

  Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to programming and I'm having a few problems. Basically I have to make a function that will find the lengths of all the paths through a network diagram. I've been working on this for hours but I can't seem to get anywhere. Using recursion I can navigate through every path but I'm just unsure as to how I should record the lengths of the paths. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   I have two tables Customer and CustomerPhone. Customer usually has multiple phone numbers, so when i run select statement on customer 101, i will get multiple records due to the multiple phone numbers. As you see below all the "Phone" and "Fax" field belongs to CustomerPhone table. These are considered as two records in the CustomerPhone table whereas the rest of fields relate to Customer table which is a single record. What should i do to fill Phone and Fax field in this case? Should i run select statement on CustomerPhone first and then run select statement on Customer?

• Storing rich text documents

  This is a follow-up to another question I asked earlier today. I am creating a desktop app that stores rich text documents created in WPF (in a RichTextBox control). The app uses SQL Compact, and up until now, I had planned to store each document in a binary column in the database. I am rethinking that approach. Would it be better practice to store each rich text document in the file system, rather than saving it to the database? I figure I could put the documents in the same folder with the database, then store a relative path to each document in its database record, along with other information about the document (tags and so on). I'd like to know some pros and cons of that approach, along with ideas of what is generally considered best practice for this sort of thing. Thanks for your help.

  I'm trying to make a script in photoshop that will modify some layers and than export them as a PNG image. It's working fine with simple paths like 'C:\images\result.png' but when trying with different paths like '~/Desktop/' or paths with some special characters the file isn't exported, and a 'destination folder does not exist' error massage appear. Any idea how can I solve it?

ERROR - UserBean retrieving user record. weblogic.jdbc.extensions.PoolLimitSQLException: weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourceLimitException: No resources currently available in pool MyApp Data Source to allocate to applications, please increase the size of the pool and retry.. I also kept getting below error message, saying "Method not supported : Statement.cancel()" which I think it is the cause to the error above. <Error> <JDBC> <BEA-001131> <Received an exception when closing a cached statement for the pool "MyApp Data Source": java.sql.SQLException: Method not supported : Statement.cancel()..> I went through the app source code, this method didn't seem to be used by the app at all. Just though it might be something to do with weblogic itself. Anyone have any idea to fix this error?

  I am trying to create a database field merge into a document (rtf) using php i.e if I have a document that starts Dear Sir, Customer Name: [customer_name], Date of order: [order_date] After retrieving the appropriate database record I can use a simple search and replace to insert the database field into the right place. So far so good. I would however like to have a little more control over the data before it is replaced. For example I may wish to Title Case it, or convert a delimited string into a list with carriage returns. I would therefore like to be able to add extra formatting commands to the field to be replaced. e.g. Dear Sir, Customer Name: [customer_name, TC], Date of order: [order_date, Y/M/D] There may be more than one formatting command per field. Is there a way that I can now search for these strings? The format of the strings is not set in stone, so if I have to change the format then I can. Any suggestions appreciated.

  I am working on rewriting my unexpected error handling process, and I would like to ask the community: What information do you capture both automatic, and manually, when software you have written crashes? Right now, I capture a few items, some of which are: Automatic: Name of app that crashed Version of app that crashed Stack trace Operating System version RAM used by the application Number of processors Screen shot: (Only on non-public applications) User name and contact information (from Active Directory) Manual: What context is the user in (i.e.: what company, tech support call number, RA number, etc...) When did the user expect to happen? (Typical response: "Not to crash”) Steps to reproduce. What other bits of information do you capture that helps you discover the true cause of an applications problem, especially given that most users simply mash the keyboard when asked to tell you what happened. For the record I’m using C#, WPF and .NET version 4, but I don’t necessarily want to limit myself to those.   Greetings, I have just starting migrating to WLS 10.x and have noticed that the thread name [%t] for WL is quite verbose and more informative than I need for my deployment needs. Ultimately, I only care about the thread ID but WL gives me this:    [ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '0' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)' ~ Does anybody know if there is a way in log4j to write a custom filter that will allow me to override PatternLayout so I can parse the WLS Thread Name to just output the thread ID which in this case above is 0. • Swing Timer in Conjunction with Possible Long-running Background Task

  I need to perform a task repeatedly that affects both GUI-related and non GUI-related objects. One caveat is that no action should performed if the previous task had not completed when the next timer event is fired. My initial thoughts are to use a SwingTimer in conjunction with a javax.swing.SwingWorker object. The general setup would look like this. class { timer = new Timer(speed, this); timer.start(); public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { SwingWorker worker = new SwingWorker() { @Override public ImageIcon[] doInBackground() { // potential long running task } @Override public void done() { // update GUI on event dispatch thread when complete } } } Some potential issues I see with this approach are: 1) Multiple SwingWorkers will be active if a worker has not completed before the next ActionEvent is fired by the timer. 2) A SwingWorker is only designed to be executed once, so holding a reference to the worker and reusing (is not?) a viable option. Is there a better way to achieve this?

  There are 3 tables. Products, Options and Prod_Opts_relations. The latter holds product_id and option_id so i should be able to figure out which options are selected for any given product. Now i want to retrieve all options from the options table where the value of an extra alias field should hold checked or unchecked depending on the existance of a mathing record in the relations table for a give product id. • Need help with Drupal bulk mail low open rate for legitimate mailing list

  I've moved from constant contact to Drupal Simplenews/Mimemail/SMTP. Previously the open rate was around 50% for constant contact, but now it's 4-5% for the same list via the mentioned setup. Mail is getting out from the server, but it's having an issue anyway. Here's the setup: -The e-mail list consists of approximately 80,000 addresses which is queued at 10,000 e-mails per cron run (which runs hourly). -The server is a Dual Core2Quad machine with 2GB of RAM. -When mail is being sent, the mail queue will usually go up to ~1000 at the beginning of the hour before reducing to ~250 by the time the next cron occurs. -Newsletter is themed to display custom style for newsletter on send -Newsletter is received by some, but appears to be bounced by many (based on low open rate_ -I've added SPF, domain keys, and a PTR record to the DNS -Server hostname (listed in ptr) is different from hosted domain -Very low spam number via Spamassassin -IP and domain are not blacklisted -Mail goes out via SMTP module on delivery. Any ideas?
