    Hi, I'm thinking about using Rx (Reactive Framework) in order to asynchronously query Twitter search API on a given keyword. The sample app I'd like to build should be able to display new tweets in the console. Do you think it is possible to do that ? Would it be simpler than using standard programming techniques ?   • How to make an add friend/defriend function in PHP?

    I have created a site where people can create a profile. But I am trying to figure out how to start on making an add friend button so users can have friends. In my user table, i have user_id, first_name, last_name, email, etc. Should I somehow relate the user_id of the user and the friend in a friend table? I am a novice to programming, so these things are still new to me. Thanks!

    I'm working through a book on Ruby, and the author used a slightly different form for writing a class initialization definition than he has in previous sections of the book. It looks like this: class Ticket attr_accessor :venue, :date def initialize(venue, date) self.venue = venue self.date = date end end In previous sections of the book, it would've been defined like this: class Ticket attr_accessor :venue, :date def initialize(venue, date) @venue = venue @date = date end end Is there any functional difference between using the setter method, as in the first example, vs. using the instance variable as in the second? They both seem to work. Even mixing them up works: class Ticket attr_accessor :venue, :date def initialize(venue, date) @venue = venue self.date = date end end

  • iPhone apps for company-internal use - possible?

    I hope this is still programming related, as SuperUser doesn't seem the appropriate place. Basically I wonder if it is possible to have Applications that are internal to a company on the iPhone? That is something like a companion Application to an Intranet (when Safari and Mail just don't cut it) which wouldn't make sense on the AppStore (and likely wouldn't get approved anyway). Is something like that possible (without Jailbreaking or doing anything else that Apple doesn't normally want)?

    I have a form created to pull PHP values into my database. I created the form with all type="text" constructions. What follows is the code that used to set up the input of data and confirmed that it is functional. <label>About Me: <input type="text" name="BIO_info"/></label> I converted the input to a textarea and adjusted some parameters for proper display. Unfortunately, it has broken the ability for the script to function.
