  Hi! I'm trying to implement stateless session bean ejb3 in jboss5 using netbeans6.8 as a editor. When I tried deploying my application, I'm getting the following error. • Eclipse Helios - Not Stopping at Breakpoints (Help!)

  Dear Eclipse Expert, I recently upgraded from Eclipse Galileo to Helios. Helios stops at breakpoints ONLY when debugging "as a PHP Script", but not when debugging "as a Web Page". When debugging as a web page, it looks like the correct debug query string to start a debug session is getting tacked on to the url, like so: http://localhost/hello.php?XDEBUG_SESSION_START=ECLIPSE_DBGP &KEY=129798139020511 but elipse does not stop at the breakpoints. It just zooms thru the code and displays the output in the browser.   Hello, I am using WCF Ria Services beta in my silverlight application. I have a long running task on the server which keeps writing its status to a database table. I have a "GetTranslationProgress" Ria Service Query method which queries the state to get the status. This query method is called continuously at a regular interval of 5 seconds until a status = Finished or Error is retrieved. In some cases if the task on the server is running for a long duration 2-3 minutes then I receives this error:- Load operation failed for query 'GetTranslationProgress'. The server did not provide a meaningful reply; this might be caused by a contract mismatch, a premature session shutdown or an internal server error. at System.Windows.Ria.OperationBase.Complete(Exception error) at System.Windows.Ria.LoadOperation.Complete(Exception error) at System.Windows.Ria.DomainContext.CompleteLoad(IAsyncResult asyncResult) at System.Windows.Ria.DomainContext.<c_DisplayClass17.b_13(Object ) The error occurs intermittently and I have no idea what could be causing this error.   I wrote a program to demonstrate the behavior of DTC timeouts with multiple threads. I'm getting several exceptions, seemingly at random. Are all of these simple Timeouts, or are some of them indicative of deeper problems (connection pool interactions, etc)? The Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MS DTC) has cancelled the distributed transaction. Distributed transaction completed. Either enlist this session in a new transaction or the NULL transaction. The transaction associated with the current connection has completed but has not been disposed. The transaction must be disposed before the connection can be used to execute SQL statements. The operation is not valid for the state of the transaction. ExecuteReader requires an open and available Connection. The connection's current state is closed.   I am trying to capture screenshots on test failure using selenium-client and rspec. I run this command: $ spec my_spec.rb \ --require 'rubygems,selenium/rspec/reporting/selenium_test_report_formatter' \ --format=Selenium::RSpec::SeleniumTestReportFormatter:./report.html It creates the report correctly when everything passes, since no screenshots are required. • Achieving NHibernate Nested Transactions Behavior

  Hi all, I'm trying to achieve some kind of nested transaction behavior using NHibernate's transaction control and FlushMode options, but things got a little bit confusing after too much reading, so any confirmation about the facts I list below will be very usefull. What I want is to open one big transaction that splits in little transactions. Imagine the following scenario: TX1 opens a TX and inserts a Person's record; TX2 opens a TX and updates this Person's name to P2; TX2 commits; TX3 opens a TX and updates this Person's name to P3; TX3 rollbacks; TX1 commits; I'd like to see NH sending the INSERT and the TX2 UPDATE to the database, just ignoring what TX3, as it was rolled back. I tried to use FlushMode = Never and only flushing the session after the proper Begins/Commits/Rollbacks have been demanded, but NH always update the database with the object's final state, independent of commits and rollbacks. Is that normal? Does NH really ignores transactional control when working with FlushMode = Never? I've also tried to use FlushMode = Commit and openning the nested transactions, but I discovered that, because ADO.NET, the nested transactions are, actually, always the same transaction. Note that I'm not trying to achieve a "all or nothing" behavior. I'm looking more to a savepoint way of working. Is there a way to do that (savepoints) with NH? Thank you in advance. Filipe

• Dynamically loaded control - how can I access a value in Page_Init

  I am loading a LinkButton dynamically when a user clicks on another LinkButton. I am attaching an event handler to it. When the user clicks on the dynamically loaded LinkButton, the event does not fire. From what I've been reading, I understand this is because when the page posts back the dynamically loaded control no longer exists. It looks like I'm supposed to make sure this control is recreated in Page_Init. The dynamically created LinkButton is dependedent on a value (Product ID). I need someway to access this value so I can properly create the control. ViewState is not accessible and I'm concerned if I use Session it could time out and then that wouldn't help. Any ideas? Also, I hardcoded a Product ID value just for testing, and that still did not cause the event to fire. There are hundreds of thousands of nearby points which to what I can tell, are being indexed by Sphinx, but simply fails silently when searching with Sphinx. • Visual Studio 2008 Web Project error: Unable to start program http://localhost:port

  I am re-hashing this question because I have looked at over 50 threads in different forums and have not been able to get a resolution to my problem. Here are the specs: Windows XP SP3, Visual Studio 2008 SP1, .NET 3.5, ASP. NET MVC 2 project, IE 7 (was IE 8) Up until a few days ago I was not having any issues. It is now happening on any solution that I try to debug. I start a debug session (F5), the solution rebuilds, a VS development web server starts and then I get this error: Unable to start program http://localhost:2012/ If I open a web browser and enter the URL the application loads up. I had upgraded to IE 8 a few weeks ago and read there may be some issues so it has been uninstalled and I am currently on IE 7. Also, while IE 8 was installed I had switched my default browser to Firefox but my current default broweser is now IE7. I have reveiewed the threads on this site and others and have not been able to fix the issue. Any help would be appreciated.

• Nesting gridview/formview in webuser control inside a parent gridview

  Hi, I'm developing an ASP.net 2 website for our HR department, where the front page has a matrix of all our departments against pay grades, with links in each cell to all the jobs for that department for that grade. These links take you a page with a gridview populated dynamically, as each department has a different number of teams, e.g. Finance has one team, IT has four. Each cell has a webuser control inserted into it. The user control has a sql datasource, pulling out all the job titles and the primary key, popuating a formview, with a linkbutton whose text value is bound to the job title. (I'm using a usercontrol as this page will also be used to show the results of a search of all roles in a range of grades for a department, and will have a varying number of rows). I've got everything to display nicely, but when I click on the linkbutton, instead of running the code I've put in the Click event, the page posts back without firing any events. Having looked around, it looks like I have to put an addhandler line in somewhere, but I'm not sure where, could anyone give me some pointers please? (fairly numpty please, I'm not too experience in ASP yet and am winging it. I'm also using VB but C# isn't a problem) This is how I'm inserting the controls into the parent grid, have I missed anything obvious?   I am looking to write a Windows Media Center plugin just like the Netflix WMC plugin. Once logged in, I know the streaming urls that I need to hook in to. Any source code, reference samples would be great. Found one on codeplex for swedish TV channels, but right now it's not working for some reason... Previously asked the following question, with no answers, so updated with a question asked in a easy to relate fashion Host a streaming video in my client, from a streaming url that is behind a login session? I am building a Silverlight 4 desktop client to show streaming video from a site that is login based. So that website has a Silverlight player that does streaming video, the player is behind a login sesion, so just by getting the url from fiddler and trying to play it in my Silverlight 4 desktop client won't work. Actually after that, I want to build a Windows Media Center plugin to build a Netflix-like client, that allows login through WMC and then allows you to watch streaming video. Any pointers on how to go about doing any of this?

• Codeigniter + TankAuth + Swfupload not able to get the logger user id

  Hello. I am using Codeigniter with the TankAuth library installed and trying to upload to index.php/reuqests/doUpload from swfupload but can't access the page as authenticated. I have read many posts around the net about similar problem and tried to set $config['sess_match_useragent'] = FALSE; but still no difference. I have ended up skipping the login check in my controller for testing purposes. But now I need to access tankAuth library from my controller to get the current logged in user ID. It is requested in my application and cannot skip it, I really need to pass the logged in user id to that doUpload model. I have setup controller like this: function doUploadFileFn() { if (!$this->tank_auth->is_logged_in()) { return; } else { $user_id = $this->tank_auth->get_user_id(); $this->load->model('requests/doUploadFile'); $this->doUploadFile->uploadData($user_id); } } Now, it does not pass the is_logged_in() check, as I learned from other posts, CI deletes the session but I have setup the config not to match the user agent but still not working. Is there any solution to this out there ? Thank you.

• Google appengine authentication on iPhone web app on the home screen

  I'm using Google appengine for developing an web application that is meant to be used on both the browser and iphone. I have purchased a domain name for this application, so that I have a pretty URL. I've used the User API for authentication. This works just fine on desktop browsers and iPhone Safari. The user could add the application to the home screen (by tapping the "+" at the bottom toolbar). However when that's done, it seems like the cookies set by Google are not in affect within this "application", and the user is effectively logged out. To make matters worse, when the user clicks on the login link (as generated by GAE), the app closes and opens safari to complete the login. Since the session is apparently not shared between the two, the login process is futile, and the "home-screen" version of the app continues to be logged out. It seems that the cookies are not shared between a "home-screen" app and Safari. It also seems that the "home-screen" app will only work within it's own domain, and any redirect to any other domain will open Safari. Any idea how I can go about fixing this?

• Preventing Flex application caching in browser (multiple modules)

  I have a Flex application with multiple modules. When I redeploy the application I was finding that modules (which are deployed as separate swf files) were being cached in the browser and the new versions weren't being loaded. So i tried the age old trick of adding ?version=xxx to all the modules when they are loaded. The value xxx is a global parameter which is actually stored in the host html page: var moduleSection:ModuleLoaderSection; moduleSection = new ModuleLoaderSection(); moduleSection.visible = false; moduleSection.moduleName = moduleName + "?version=" + MySite.masterVersion; In addition I needed to add ?version=xxx to the main .swf that was being loaded. Since this is done by HTML I had to do this by modifying my AC_OETags.js file as below : function AC_FL_RunContent(){ var ret = AC_GetArgs ( arguments, ".swf?mv=" + getMasterVersion(), "movie", "clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" , "application/x-shockwave-flash" ); AC_Generateobj(ret.objAttrs, ret.params, ret.embedAttrs); } This is all fine and works great. I just have a hard time believing that Adobe doesn't already have a way to handle this. Given that Flex is being targeted to design modular applications for business I find it especially surprising. What do other people do? I need to make sure my application reloads correctly even if someone has once per session selected for their 'browser cache checking policy'.

  Using ASP.Net, JQuery and BlockUI, I'm trying to unblock the UI after a download file dialog is shown. I have considered different options: Poll using Ajax calls to see if the file has been generated. Store the file in Session and redirect to same page and generate download then. But both options seem ackward, and I think there must be a clever JavaScript way to get a handle on or wait for a file dialog. Any suggestions?

The first client executes this query: (makes an intent to insert a row with id equal to 9) SELECT * from test where id = 9 FOR UPDATE; Empty set (0.00 sec) Then the second client does the same: SELECT * from test where id = 9 FOR UPDATE; Empty set (0.00 sec) My question is: Why the second client does not block ? An exclusive gap lock should have been set by the first query because FOR UPDATE have been used and the second client should block. If I am wrong, could somebody tell me how to do it correctly ? • Jmock mock DAO object

  Hi all, I wrote a method that retrieves certain list of strings, given a correct string key. Now when I create a list(the one to be retrieved by method descibed in previous sentence) and create test I can easily get results and test passes successfully. Now on the other hand if I save the content of this list to database in 2 columns, key and value I wrote a class which retrieves this items with method inside it. And when I print it out to console the expected results are correct, now I initialize my DAO from application context where inside its bean it gets session and because of DAO works. Now I'm trying to write a test which will mock the DAO, because I'm running test localy not on the server .. so I told jmock to mock it : private MyDAO myDAO; in the setup() myDAO = context.mock(MyDAO.class); I think I'm mocking it correctly or not, how can I mock this data from database? what is the best way? Is there somewhere good Jmock documentation? on their official site its not very good and clear, you have to know what you seek in order to find it, can't discover something cool in the mean time.

• LogonUser using LOGON32_LOGON_NEW_CREDENTIALS works against remote untrusted domain machine

  So between the two machines, there is no trust - they are in different domains. I've successfully connected to the remote machine using LogonUser API using logon type, *LOGON32_LOGON_NEW_CREDENTIALS*. I am able to retrieve the content of a directory using the UNC share, and create a file stream to "download" the file. So far so good. The only issue is that it seems, LogonUser fails unless there is an already open session. Let me clarify that. I found that the ASP.NET MVC page was not working this morning, specifically the page that retrieves the file list from this remote machine using LogonUser. I look at the log and I see in the stacktrace, *System.IO.__Error.WinIOError* above Directory.GetFiles call. I then remoted into the web server and tried to open the remote folder in the explorer using the same login/password used by the web site. It went through and I could see the files. I opened up the command prompt, type in net use, and I see that there is an open connection to the remote machine. Then I went back to the page and suddenly the page is working again. So, at this point, I am not exactly sure if the LogonUser is working as expected or not. If the call requires that a network connection opened first by other means, then this is certainly not satisfactory. Does anyone know what may be happening or suggest a workaround?

• flushing database cache in SWI-Prolog

  We are using swi-prolog to run our testcases. Whenever the test starts, I am opening the connection to MYSQL database and storing the Name of the Test hat is being done and then closing the DB. These tests run for about 2 days continuously. After the tests are done, the results basically gets stored in folder in the server. There is a predicate in another prolog file that is called to update the results to the MYSQL database. The code is simple, I use odbc library and just call odbc_* predicates to connect and update the mysql by issuing direct queries. The actual problem is : If I try to call the Predicate from the same Prolog window, where the test just got completed, I get an error as updating to the DB server. Although I do not get any error in the connection. If I close the session of that prolog with halt and closing all the open prolog windows , then open an other complete new instance of Prolog and run the predicate the update goes well. I have a feeling that there is some connection reference to the MySQL DB in Prolog database. Is there any way to clear the database in prolog so that I can run the same predicate without closing any existing prolog windows? Any ideas appreciated. Thanks.

• Error while dynamically loading mapi32.dll

  Our application uses Simple MAPI to send e-mails. One of our clients has problems sending e-mail from a session on his terminal server. The mapi32.dll is loaded with a call to LoadLibrary which succeeds, but then our application tries to get the addresses of the functions MAPILogon, MAPILogOff, MAPISendMail, MAPIFreeBuffer and MAPIResolveName. The problem is that GetProcAddress fails for those functions with an ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED (code: 5) except for MAPIFreeBuffer. It looks like some sort of security thing. How can I fix this or should I use another method to send mail? • How to handle correctly HTTP Digest Authentication on iPhone

  Hello guys. I'm trying to upload a file onto my personal server. I've written a small php page that works flawlessy so far. The little weird thing is the fact that I generate all the body of the HTTP message I'm going to send (let's say that amounts to ~4 mb) and then I send the request to my server. The server, then, asks for an HTTP challenge and my delegate connection:didReceiveAuthenticationChallenge:challenge replies to the server with the proper credentials and the data. But, what's happened? The data has been sent twice! In fact I've noticed that when I added the progressbar.. the apps sends the data (4mb), the server asks for authentication, the apps re-sends the data with the authentication (another 4mb). So, at the end, I've sent 8mb. That's wrong. I started googling and searching for a solution but I can't figure out how to fix this. The case scenarios are two (my guess): Share the realm for the whole session (a minimal HTTP request, then challenge, then data) Use the synchronized way to perform an HTTP connection (things that I do not want to do since it seems an ugly way to handle this kind of stuff to me) Thank you

• Can you use gzip over SSL? And Connection: Keep-Alive headers

  I'm evaluating the front end performance of a secure (SSL) web app here at work and I'm wondering if it's possible to compress text files (html/css/javascript) over SSL. I've done some googling around but haven't found anything specifically related to SSL. If it's possible, is it even worth the extra CPU cycles since responses are also being encrypted? Would compressing responses hurt performance? Also, I'm wanting to make sure we're keeping the SSL connection alive so we're not making SSL handshakes over and over. I'm not seeing Connection: Keep-Alive in the response headers. I do see Keep-Alive: 115 in the request headers but that's only keeping the connection alive for 115 milliseconds (seems like the app server is closing the connection after a single request is processed?) Wouldn't you want the server to be setting that response header for as long as the session inactivity timeout is? I understand browsers don't cache SSL content to disk so we're serving the same files over and over and over on subsequent visits even though nothing has changed. The main optimization recommendations are reducing the number of http requests, minification, moving scripts to bottom, image optimization, possible domain sharding (though need to weigh the cost of another SSL handshake), things of that nature.
