• Change a UIButton View's background upon press

  This should be easy but its got me stumped. I've got a button on each row of a table cell. The button is to delete the file associated with that row. I have an image that indicates if the file is present on the iPhone or not present. When the user presses the button, the target action method (showDeleteSheet) then calls a UIActionSheet with a variable to give it the indexPath of the row pressed. Then the user presses delete on the action sheet and the action sheet's clickedButtonAtIndex method deletes the file. Now, I need to update the button's background image property to change the image in the appropriate table cell to the not downloaded image. This can be done in either the button's target action method or the action sheet's clickedButtonAtIndex method. If so I don't know how to tell it which. Because I test if the file is downloaded when the button is made and the background image is set, when I scroll down so the cell in question is de-queued then scroll back up it show's the correct image. I've tried to force the table to reload but [table reloadData]; is doing nothing. I've tried reloadRowsAtIndexPaths and still no good. Any one care to educate me on how this is done?

• Unable to connect SQL Server instance from Visual Studio 2008 Version 9.0

  I am getting the below error from VS on an 32-bit XP Professional server even though I set Tools-Options-Database Tools-Data Connections to "SIDEKICK", which is the name of my computer. In other words SIDEKICK should default to the full SQLSERVER. In other words, I want VS to use SQLSERVER instead of SQLSERVER EXPRESS. And I can clearly see my database both from VS in the Server Explorer and also in SSMS 2008. Furthermore, I can view the tables of this database in Server Explorer from VS. I do not get any build errors. And it looks like all of the naming is consistent in my web.config file. I am developing my website according to a Microsoft tutorial, so I should not be getting an error. • Web service client receiving generic FaultException rather than FaultException<T>

  I am connecting to a Java Axis2 web service using a .NET web service client. The client itself targets the .NET 3.5 framework. The application that wraps the client DLL is 2.0. I'm not sure if that has any bearing. I have been given the WSDL and XSDs by email. From those I have built my proxy class using svcutil. Although I am able to successfully send messages, I am unable to pick up the correct faults when something goes wrong. • RoR custom routing/Method/View problem all methods come back as undefined

  I am playing with custom view and routes. I think that I have everything right but obviously not. Essentially I tried to copy the show method and show.html.erb but for some reason it will not work. My controller class fatherController < ApplicationController def show @father = Father.find(params[:id]) respond_to do |format| format.html # show.html.erb format.xml { render :xml => @father } end end def ofmine @father = Father.find(params[:id]) respond_to do |format| format.html # show.html.erb format.xml { render :xml => @father } end end end My routes.rb Parent::Application.routes.draw do resources :fathers do resources :kids end match 'hospitals/:id/ofmine' => 'father#show2' end when I go to 127.0.0.1:/father/1 it works fine but when I try to go to 127.0.0.1:/father/1/ofmine it gives the following error. It doesn't matter what the variable/method that is called; it occurs at the first one to be displayed.   Hi, I'm pretty new to C# and asp.net so aplogies if this is a really stupid question. I'm using a grid view to display a number of records from a database. Each row has an Edit Button. When the button is clicked I want an ID to be passed back to a funtion in my .cs file. How do I bind the rowID to the Button field? • Rails controller not rendering correct view when form is force-submitted by Javascript

  I'm using Rails with jQuery, and I'm working on a page for a simple site that prints each record to a table. The only editable field for each record is a checkbox. My goal is that every time a checkbox is changed, an ajax request updates that boolean attribute for the record (i.e., no submit button). The contents of this file is currently just for testing (I just wanted to see if it worked, this will not be the ultimate functionality on a successful save)... page << "$('#checkbox#{@lead.id}').hide();" When clicked, the ajax request is successfully sent, with the correct params, and the action on the controller can retrieve the record and update it just fine. The problem is that it doesn't send back the JS; it changes the page in the browser and renders the generated Javascript as plain text rather than executing it in-place. Rails does some behind-the-scenes stuff to figure out if the incoming request is an ajax call, and I can't figure out why it's interpreting the incoming request as a regular web request as opposed to an ajax request. I may be missing something extremely simple here, but I've kind-of burned myself out looking so I thought I'd ask for another pair of eyes. Thanks in advance for any info!

• Firebug error causing code to fail in Sitecore when using IE8 to view the Content Editor

  Hi, I have a Sitecore 6 CMS with a custom data provider to create child items on the fly based on items added to a field in the parent item. This was working okay (about a week ago was the last time I was working on this project), but now I am getting errors in the web client which are originating in the FirebugLite html and JS files. Basically, I click on a content item, the FirebugLite js fails, and then my code in my custom data provider fails to run. I would have thought any FirebugLite scripts would be disabled or ignored when running under IE8 (isn't FirebugLite a Firefox addin?) When I remove the FirebugLite folder from ..\sitecore\shell\Controls\Lib\ my code runs fine and I don't get the clientside errors. I'm not really sure what my question is. I guess it is should FirebugLite affect IE8? What am I missing out on if I remove FirebugLite from the Sitecore directory tree? I'm running WindowsXP SP3, VS2008.   Given a "run configuration" in Eclipse, I want to print out the associated shell command that would be used to run it. For example: Right now, in Eclipse, if I click "play" it will run: mvn assembly:directory -Dmaven.test.skip=true I don't see that command, I just know that's what the IDE must run, at some point. However, some of the other run configurations are far more complex with long classpaths and virtual machine options and, frankly, sometimes I have no idea what the equivalent shell command would be (particularly when it comes to Flex). There must be some way to access the shell command that would be associated with a "Run Configuration" in Eclipse/Flex Builder. This information must be available, which leads me to believe someone has written a plugin to display it. Or maybe there's already an option built into Eclipse for accessing this. So is there a way to, essentially, convert an Eclipse run configuration into a shell command? (for context only: I'm asking because I'm writing a bash script that automates everything I do, during development--from populating the Database all the way to opening Firefox and clearing the cache before running the web app. So every command I run from the IDE needs to exist in the script. Some are tricky to figure out.)

I currently think that I am not formatting the results of the NSFetchRequest in the NSArray properly if I had to take a guess. • Ubuntu web server 11.10 ftp/server issue

  I was wondering if I could get some help with FTP, atleast I'm pretty sure it has to do with FTP. Although it could have to do with something else, I'm not 100% sure.. Now, for fare warning, I'm no ubuntu dominator, I'm pretty newb. Anyway, I've attempted to build a webserver to to test php and what not for a site I'm building. Now everything works, the php, the sql etc. By the way, I built this in VMware, so it's virtual, over a network, so I can access stuff from anywhere. I'm in a college right now so yeah. The one problem I have is this. I go into the terminal, and do ifconfig to find my IP. I get it and go to a browser on a different machine and type that IP in. I get the "index of/" page, where I can browse the website I'm making. I can click through folders and what not. I can click on things and they open up. Now lets say I'm working on my desktop and open up an FTP and drag and drop something into there, go to the IP in the browser again and try to open it. I either get "Server error The website encountered an error while retrieving http://my_server_ip/phpinfo.php. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly. Here are some suggestions: Reload this webpage later." or "Forbidden You don't have permission to access /html.html on this server." But, lets say I make it on the server itself, and try, bam, magic it works. I'm sure I set the permissions to let everyone open and view the files, but maybe I didn't? I'm not sure, and this is where I was hoping I could get some help. By the way, I followed a tutorial on changing the www folder (apache) from /var/www to home/"user"/www. I can't recall how I did that, but it's there and my ftp goes to the home/"user"/www folder. But yeah, any and all help is appreciated. Like I said, I'm really new to this, but I do enjoy attempting to make these servers and learning how they work, so it's not like making this webserver is a project for a class, It's just assisting me in testing stuff for another class and possibly other websites later on down the road.   I have tried in all ways to get wkhtmltopdf installed on our web server but unfortunately it is not getting installed. I cannot access user/bin folder as stated in a tutorial on installation. On the server in public_html folder there is a sub folder _vti_bin, I copied the file wkhtmltopdf-i386 from wkhtmltopdf-0.9.1-static-i386, but I am not able to execute it. How to install wkhtmltopdf on (shared hosting) web server and get it working?

• Alternative to System.Web.HttpUtility.HtmlEncode/Decode?

  Is there any 'slimmer' alternative to the System.Web.HttpUtility.HtmlEncode/.Decode functions in .net 3.5 (sp1)? A separate library is fine.. or even 'wanted', at least something that does not pull in a 'whole new world' of dependencies that System.Web requires. I only want to convert a normal string into its xml/xhtml compliant equivalent (& back).

  I'm using a singleton pattern for the datacontext in my web application so that I dont have to instantiate it every time, however I'm not sure how web applications work, does IIS open a thread for every user connected? if so, what would happend if my singleton is not thread safe? Also, is it OK to use a singleton pattern for the datacontext? Thanks.

  I've been experimenting with Hive for some data mining activities and would like to make it easily available to less command line orientated colleagues. Hive does now ship with a web interface (http://wiki.apache.org/hadoop/Hive/HiveWebInterface) but it's very basic at this stage. My question is does a visually polished and fully featured interface (either desktop or preferably web based) to Hive exist yet? Are their any open source efforts outside the Hive project working on this?
