  • MVC 2 Validation without BuddyClasses

    Hello EveryOne, i m using asp.NET MVC 2 for my current project and i need to validate form fields both on client and server side. for that i started with DataAnnotations. Now, i figure out that i have to write buddy class for every model or i have to go to designer generated code and put my annotations there (not a good idea though). if someone can suggest me a solution that helps me avoid writing those buddy classes and get the same functionality.   • How do I remove msysgit's right click menu options?

    This isn't the best programming question but lets face it, the server fault guys aren't well versed in git, so I think its more towards this audience. Do I have to write a script to uninstall them? How do I get them to go away, I want to switch to tortoise git, or portablegit in my shell, but I'm left with these annoying menu options.

    If I have a 3 layer web forms application that takes user input, I know I can validate that input using validation controls in the presentation layer. Should I also validate in the business and data layers as well to protect against SQL injection and also issues? What validations should go in each layer? Another example would be passing a ID to return a record. Should the data layer ensure that the id is valid or should that happen in BLL / UI?

  • Prompting user for multiple selections in an iphone app

    I'm currently looking for a way to provide the user with being able to select multiple items from a collection of values. I know this is done in the mail app whereby you can go into the edit mode of a folder and select multiple items by clicking on the circle on the left hand side.     I've placed the players in "sites/all/libraries/" but I'm still getting this message when I go to admin/settings/swftools/handling, "FlexPaper - Missing sites/all/libraries/flexpaper/FlexPaperViewer.swf" Anyone having the same issue? On a side note when I setup the swftools profile and then assign the CCK formater and then goto the page to view the swf I get this message: "No modules have registered the action swf_list.     I have a GWT app that when launched it takes you to a page with just a menu. So as a shortcut type thing I would like the users to be able to go straight to the page they want. So if the default start page is x, the should be able to say x/add and it will take them to the add page. How would I get that in gwt? Do I need a bunch of different entry points?

  • Adding an HTTP Header to the request in a servlet filter

    I'm integrating with an existing servlet that pulls some properties out of the HTTP header. Basically, I'm implementing an interface that doesn't have access to the actual request, it just has access to a map of k-v for the HTTP headers. I need to pass in a request parameter. The plan is to use a servlet filter to go from parameter to header value but of course the HttpServletRequest object doesn't have an addHeader() method. Any ideas?

  • Getting XML data from a external page and parsing it with PHP

    I'm trying to create a database of World of Warcraft gems. I think file_get_contents() is bringing back data that isn't XML, maybe some Javascript files judging by the iPhone parts in the errors. Is there any way to just get back the XML from that page? For example, consider find . -type f -mtime +7 | tee compressedP.list | xargs compress I tried find . -type f -mtime +7 | tee compressedP.list | xargs -i{} compress {} & .. and as unexpected, it seems to send xargs to the background instead? How do I make each instance of the compress command go to the background?

When i build my project all my errors and warnings are displayed in console window and if i need to find the place where it showing those errors i need have to go into that file and find those information.     Hi, I'm using fgets with stdin to read in some data, with the max length i read in being 25. With one of the tests I'm running on this code, there are a few hundred spaces after the data that I want - which causes the program to fail. Can someone advise me as to how to ignore all of these extra spaces when using fgets and go to the next line? Thanks
