• How can I capture the keystroke that triggers "CellEndEdit" on a DataGridView in C#?

  I have a DataGridView that is set to EditOnF2. I do some special processing of data in the CellEndEdit eventhandler that sets the value of the cell. I still want the functionality of the EditOnKeystrokeOrF2 of reverting to the original value when the Esc key is pressed. Unfortunately, at the CellEndEdit eventhandler, I don't see a way to tell what caused the CellEndEdit event to be fired. I only want to change the value of the cell if the Esc key is not pressed. How can I tell if it was or not? Edit: It is worth noting that the KeyDown event does not get fired when the cell is being edited, nor for the final ending keystroke. Edit2: I have tried the KeyPreview suggestion, but the form still does not capture the Escape key being pressed. Edit3: I've been experimenting with trying to get this working. I originally posted some of the following as a separate post, but feel it might be more relevant to include it here. I have a cell in a DataGridView that is now set to EditProgrammatically. To capture the keystroke that starts an edit, I am setting the cell.Value equal to the keystroke. However, this ruins the "Escape" functionality of the cell - when you press escape, instead of reverting to the original value, it reverts to the keystroke that I programmatically inserted into the cell. I believe that if I could set the "EditedFormattedValue" on a cell, this would be where I want to put my keystroke value, however this appears to be read only. How can I accomplish what I am attempting? An example to clarify: If the cell has a value of "54.3" in it, and I press the "9" key, it begins editing the cell and places a "9" there. If I hit Escape, instead of reverting to "54.3" it reverts to "9". What I want is for it to return to its original value of "54.3". So, I am trying to tackle this issue from both the beginning and the end. I think the real problem is that I am overwriting the original value and have no way to determine if I should revert it or not. Edit4: It looks like CellValidating might be worth using, but I am seeing strange behavior when I experiment with it. In a new project, I create the DataGridView and register for the various events and see that CellValidating is fired before the CellEndEdit. However, in my project where I am trying to get this to work, CellEndEdit is firing BEFORE CellValidating. Any ideas on what the difference might be?

• How to query JDO persistent objects in unowned relationship model?

  Hello, I'm trying to migrate my app from PHP and RDBMS (MySQL) to Google App Engine and have a hard time figuring out data model and relationships in JDO. In my current app I use a lot of JOIN queries like: SELECT users.name, comments.comment FROM users, comments WHERE users.user_id = comments.user_id AND users.email = '[email protected]' As I understand, JOIN queries are not supported in this way so the only(?) way to store data is using unowned relationships and "foreign" keys. There is a documentation regarding that, but no useful examples.   Hi all, I am trying to display content in NSTableView using NSMutableArrayController of NSMutableDictionary records. I followed steps written below: In application delegate class, I created an NSMutableArray object with name 'geniuses' and stored some NSMutableDictionary objects with keys: 'geniusName' and 'domain'. I took an NSArrayController object in IB, binded its controller content property to application delegate class, and set its model key path to 'geniuses'. In attribute inspector pane set mode as class and class name as NSMutableDictionary. Added keys: 'geniusName' and 'domain' to it. In IB I took a table view object. Binded its content property to array controller, controller key path set as arranged objects. Binded value property of its first column to array controller, controller key path set as arranged objects, model key path set as 'geniusName'. Binded value property of its second column to array controller, controller key path set as arranged objects, model key path set as 'geniusName'. After following these steps when I tried to build and run the project I found un-populated table view. You can find my code here. Can anyone suggest me where I may be wrong? Thanks, Miraaj

  I currently have code with an enum where one value is set and the rest are left to be set by the compiler using the previous value +1, or so I hope. Is this functionality within an enumerated type compiler dependant, an example is below to clarify. enum FUNC_ERROR_CODE { FUNC_SUCCESS, FUNC_ERROR_1 = 24, FUNC_ERROR_2, FUNC_ERROR_3 } Is it safe to assume that FUNC_ERROR_2 will have the value 25 and FUNC_ERROR_3 will have the value 26, regardless of compliler used. I'm coding this so as a function can return an integer value, 0 is always success and any other value can signify failure.

• Updating Excel Cell with Non-Numeric Data in C#

  I have a query that is ExcelQuery = "Update [Sheet1$] set CITIZEN_ID = #" + value + " where CITIZEN_ID = " + value; As you can see, I'm essentially just appending a "#" onto the CITIZEN_ID field. value is a int/numeric value. So if I had "256" in the CITIZEN_ID column it would be converted to "#256" When I execute this I get an OleDbException Syntax error in date in query expression so I surrounded part of the query in single quotes like this, ExcelQuery = "Update [Sheet1$] set CITIZEN_ID = '#" + value + "' where CITIZEN_ID = " + value; With that I get yet another OleDbException this time with, Data type mismatch in criteria expression. I'm guessing for some reason the CITIZEN_ID fields don't want to take anything besides a plain number. Is there any way I can remedy this to get that pound symbol in? Thanks!

• Efficient data structure for fast random access, search, insertion and deletion

  I'm looking for a data structure (or structures) that would allow me keep me an ordered list of integers, no duplicates, with indexes and values in the same range. I need four main operations to be efficient, in rough order of importance: taking the value from a given index finding the index of a given value inserting a value at a given index deleting a value at a given index Using an array I have 1 at O(1), but 2 is O(N) and insertion and deletions are expensive (O(N) as well, I believe). A Linked List has O(1) insertion and deletion (once you have the node), but 1 and 2 are O(N) thus negating the gains. I tried keeping two arrays a[index]=value and b[value]=index, which turn 1 and 2 into O(1) but turn 3 and 4 into even more costly operations. Is there a data structure better suited for this?

• Understanding Symbols In Ruby

  Despite reading this article, I'm still confused as to the representation of the data in memory when it comes to using symbols. If a symbol, two of them contained in different objects, exist in the same memory location, then how is it that they contain different values? I'd have expected the same memory location to contain the same value. As a quote from the link: Unlike strings, symbols of the same name are initialized and exist in memory only once during a session of ruby I just don't understand how it manages to differentiate the values contained in the same memory location. EDIT So let's consider the example: patient1 = { :ruby => "red" } patient2 = { :ruby => "programming" } patient1.each_key {|key| puts key.object_id.to_s} 3918094 patient2.each_key {|key| puts key.object_id.to_s} 3918094 patient1 and patient2 are both hashes, that's fine. :ruby however is a symbol. If we were to output the following: patient1.each_key {|key| puts key.to_s} Then what will be output? "red", or "programming"? FURTHER EDIT I'm still really quite confused. I'm thinking a symbol is a pointer to a value. Let's forget hashes for a second. The questions I have are; can you assign a value to a symbol? Is a symbol just a pointer to a variable with a value in it? If symbols are global, does that mean a symbol always points to one thing?

What I need to do is to pass the ordered row information to the database, e.g.: Injuries, 1, 2, 5 .... Absences 100, 102, 105... I can retrieve the values for each input using: $('#SicknessForm .userInput').each(function() { alert($(this).val()); }); 1) How can I loop through each row, get the value from the first column (Injuries) and place the data into an array to send to the server? 2) How do I reference the first row of each column to disable user input on it? $(:HowDoIReferenceThis).attr('disabled', ''); 3) I need to validate that each cell is numeric, other than the first column. Any pointers on this (otherwise I can check it in my servlet), especially on how to loop through all valid input cells (everything except 'Injuries','Abences', ... cells). Many Thanks! Vic

I'm not great at Hibernate to be honest, prefer straight SQL but I must learn, but i can't see what it is that is wrong.....? Any suggestions?

  Have a class that I am using, I am overriding variables in the class to change them to what values I need, but I also not sure if or how to handle an issue. I need to add a key that is generated to each of this URLs before the class calls them.   I am working on an Asset DB using a lamp stack. In this example consider the following 5 tables: asset, server, laptop, desktop, software All tables have a primary key of id, which is a unique asset id. Every object has all asset attributes and then depending on type of asset has additional attributes in the corresponding table. If the type is a server, desktop or laptop it also has items in the software table. • Flex: Linebreak problem with spark.components.TextArea inside a MXDataGridItemRenderer

  Hi, I have a DataGrid that has a MXDataGridItemRenderer applied as an itemEditor to one of the columns. The editor includes a spark.components.TextArea control. By default, any text item editor of a datagrid closes itself when [enter] key is pressed.. • Have I found a security problem in an API or do I just not understand SSL?

  I'm working on building a set of Python bindings around an XML-based API provided by a vendor. The vendor requires that all transactions be conducted over SSL. Using a Linux box, I created a key file and a CSR for my application. Using their self-service web portal, I then generate a certificate using that CSR. Both the key file and the certificate are used when making the SSL request to the API. I'm now working on designing exception classes to make error messages more verbose (and, hopefully, more useful to developers using my bindings). Part of my testing has included altering the key file: transpose a couple characters here, replace 4 or 5 with random characters there, etc. To my surprise, altering the key file had no effect! As long as I didn't change the total length of it, the API didn't complain about a bad key file. The only way I was able to throw an error was by swapping in a completely different key from another application. At that point, the API complained about the Common Name not matching. Is this normal behavior or has the vendor not properly implemented SSL?

  The code below works great except the email has all the text on one line like this: Height: 60 | Diagonal: 123 | Width: 107 | Total SF: 13.92 | Cost Per SF: 450 | Total Cost: $6,264.00 I would like to break after each so it looks like this: Height: 60 Diagonal: 123 Width: 107 Total SF: 13.92 Cost Per SF: 450 Total Cost: $6,264.00 I tried \n \r \n\r etc but none of them work.   STDOUT can not return to Screen Hello all below is the part of my code, my code enters "if loop" with $value =1 and output of the process "iperf.exe" is getting into my_output.txt.
