  • ActiveRecordStore InvalidAuthenticityToken

    - by Andy
    I have recently been using cookie store and I want to transition to active record store. However I keep getting an invalid authenticity token. After deleting my cookies, I was able to access the page just fine, but I don't want all my users to come to my page, get a huge error and then figure out that I want them to delete their cookies. So I made a function called delete cookies: after_filter :delete_cookie def delete_cookie puts "deleting cookies" cookies.to_hash.each_pair do |k, v| puts k cookies.delete(k) end end In application controller, but it doesn't seem to be working correctly. I still see my cookie after visiting any page. I feel like there really should be a better solution but I can't seem to find any so far. Any hints?

  • Java method introspection from JRuby

    - by Colin Curtin
    Is there a way from JRuby to introspect on a Java object and find out its Java-land methods? Like what http://github.com/oggy/looksee provides, but for Java. Or like (someobject).methods - 1.methods This would be nice for just taking a look at what a Java object provides versus the APIDoc for it.

  • In Sinatra, how can I serve static index.html files in subdirectories in public folder?

    - by socrateos
    I noticed that Sinatra does not recognize index.html files in public folder's subdirectories and returns an error when url is pointing to a directory without specifiying the file name. For example, if user enters a url like "www.mydomain.com/subdiretory/", Sinatra fails to recognize the existence of an index.html file in that directory. There are hundreds of subdirectories in my public folder so that it is impossible to specify each one of them in code (and the number of subdirectories keeps growing). How can I tell Sinatra to leave my web server (Apache) alone (to server index.html file) if there is an index.html file in a subdirectory of public folder when url is pointing to that directory without the file name?

  • How to unit test private methods in BDD / TDD?

    - by robert_d
    I am trying to program according to Behavior Driven Development, which states that no line of code should be written without writing failing unit test first. My question is, how to use BDD with private methods? How can I unit test private methods? Is there better solution than: - making private methods public first and then making them private when I write public method that uses those private methods; or - in C# making all private methods internal and using InternalsVisibleTo attribute. • ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken: verified with authentication token on the form!

    - by goodwill
    I don't know why it happens but my form for some reason does not post properly. I am very sure the form contains the required authentication token: <form action="/account/complete_verify_email/4df78710-e27b-4527-bd2d-71cd2e9a1271" method="post"><div style="margin:0;padding:0"><input name="authenticity_token" type="hidden" value="341b07dfa682ed11a045e19956e2e3f5f499e8cb"></div> <input id="password" name="password" type="password"> <input name="commit" type="submit" value="Continue"> </form> Note the authenticity_token is there. What happened? And YOU KNOW WHAT? Quitting Safari and restart again solved the issue... but I can't think of what kind of intermittent behaviour could cause such problem.

  • Passing value from :locals to link_remote_to

    - by Teef L
    In my edit.haml file, I have =render :partial => 'old_question_tags', :locals => {:current_question => @question.id}. I'd like to pass the value in :current_question to a link_to_remote call in _old_question_tags.haml: #{link_to_remote image_tag('red-x.png', {:alt => "Remove #{t.name} tag"}), :url => {:action => 'remove_old_tag_from_question', :tag_remove => t.id, :current_question => current_question}} But I get this error on the link_to_remote line: ActionView::TemplateError (undefined local variable or method `current_question' for #<ActionView::Base:0xdb2fec8>) In _old_question_tags.haml, if I just print current_question (using =current_question), it prints the number without any problems. How do I properly pass that value to the partial so that I can pass it to the link_to_remote call?

  • Watir question regarding selecting a hidden dropdown.

    - by AJ
    Hi, I have two dropdowns, the second dropdown does not show until a choice is made from the first one. Using watir, i can select the first dropdown, and when i watch it, the second one becomes active, but it cannot select it. i just tried the regular select_list using name and id. Here is the code for the second drop down. <td> <input type="hidden" value="1" name="list" id="list"> <script type="text/JavaScript" language="JavaScript"></script> <select> <option value="">1</option> <option value="2">2</option> <option value="3">3</option> </select> </td> I've also notice the value for the hidden field change as i select different options. Thanks for any help

  • how to model a many to many relationship

    - by Maulin
    Here is the scenario, Articles have many Comments Users can write many Comments for many Articles The comments table contains both user_id article_id as foreign keys My models are set up like so class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :comments has_many :articles, :through => :comments class Article < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :comments has_many :users, :through => :comments class Comment < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :users belongs_to :articles My routes.rb has the following code map.resources :articles, :has_many => :comments map.resources :users, :has_many => :comments which produces the following routes new_article_comment edit_article_comment new_user_comment edit_user_comment etc... This is not what I want (atleast not what I think I want), since comments must always be related to users and article, how can I get a route like so new_user_article_comment edit_user_article_comment Then I could just do new_user_article_comment_path([@user, @article]) to create a new comment

  • gsub! Is modifying unspecified strings

    - by user335729
    I'm extracting some information from an XML file, and I want to perform some modifications on the data while keeping a copy of the original in a variable "origFile". This is what I have: require "rexml/document" include REXML doc = Document.new File.new(thePath) root = doc.root array = [] root.elements.each("dict/string") {|element| array << element} origFile = [] root.elements.each("dict"){|i| origFile << i} theBody = array[6][0].to_s theBody.gsub!(/\&lt;!-- more --\&gt;/, "----------Read More----------") The problem is that after I perform gsub! on theBody, origFile also has the modification. I don't understand why this would be or how to fix it. I would really appreciate your help.

  • Resetting a partial using RJS, and passing an instance variable?

    - by Elliot
    Hey guys here is my code (roughly): books.html.erb <% @books.each do |book| %> <% @bookid = book.id %> <div id="enter_stuff"> <%= render "input", :bookid => @bookid %> </div> <%end%> _input.html.erb <% @book = Book.find_by_id(@bookid) %> <strong>your book is: <%=h @book.name %></strong> create.rjs page.replace_html :enter_stuff, :partial => 'input2', :object => @bookid Only create.js doesn't seem to work though, if instead of passing the partial I passed "..." it does work, so I know its that there are instance variables in the partial that aren't being reset. Any ideas?

  • Problem with Juggernaut and transparent wmode in Adobe AIR

    - by vortexmk
    Hi, I am trying to use juggernaut in Adobe AIR application, however the big issue with this is that the juggernaut flash file should have wmode parameter set to 'transparent'. This is a bit of a problem for juggernaut because it seems that it doesn't work with that parameter included. The interesting part is that it is working under Linux on all browsers and in air application, but on Windows it's working only with Safari all other browsers including the AIR application are not even connecting to the juggernaut server. So the question is, what is the cause of this and if anyone had similar problem I would be interested to hear about solutions or workarounds. Thanks, Peco

  • Why would paperclip not assign an ID to my uploaded photos?

    - by Trip
    I just deployed to a cluster server, and my delayed_jobs recipe was overwritten in the process. I solved that, delayed_jobs is up and running but can't find the ID of images that are uploaded. The images are saved correctly : Processing PhotosController#create (for 173.161.167.41 at 2010-06-01 05:09:14) [POST] Parameters: {"Filename"="1.jpg", "gallery_id"="1298", "action"="create", "amp"=nil, "authenticity_token"="qmbnpwFY8a5E3YtS/4fMWF/Z8evCE4hMxqKVJw0I7Ek=", "Upload"="Submit Query", "controller"="photos", "organization_id"="470", "_hq_channel_session"="BAh7CSIYdXNlcl9jcmVkZW50aWFsc19pZGkHIhV1c2VyX2NyZWRlbnRpYWxzIgGAOGRlZDc0NGJlOWU3NTNlNDFlYmVlMDdjMzIzYjA1ZjQxNGE5ZDY4YjNmYjFmNjNkMDQ2OWY2ZDQyOTljZDhiMDFlNmRkMDljNThmMzBmOWJhMTIwNDhkMDI5MTMxYmU5MDczYjIxZmI4YmQxMDVlMTBmNjZmOWFhODE1ZTBjMGM6EF9jc3JmX3Rva2VuIjFxbWJucHdGWThhNUUzWXRTLzRmTVdGL1o4ZXZDRTRoTXhxS1ZKdzBJN0VrPToPc2Vzc2lvbl9pZCIlMjAwMDQ3ZDQ3ZWUyZTgzODIxYzdjOGI3OTdmZGJiMDM=--ac6aa580262938bf5a4d6b9a740722b680eb5d48", "Filedata"=#} [paperclip] Saving attachments. Anyone know where I could poke and pry from here? UPDATE: I created a clone application on a single server. And there are no problems. The images on the cluster do show up (occassionally). If I keep clicking on the folders that lead to photos, it will 50% of the time return a 404 with it not being able to find the photo, and the other half it will present the photo. So the problem has got to be with the server interaction between the ActiveRecord through multiple servers.

  • Devise authenticating with username instead of email

    - by teknull
    I'm new to Devise and have it working fine by using an email address as the authentication key. However, I have a use case which requires a username instead and I can't seem to get it working. I've added a string column, "username" to the users table, changed the fields from :email to :username in the sign-in form, and have changed the authentication key in devise.rb to :username yet when I go to sign in I'm met with this prompt: "Please enter an email address". What am I doing wrong? **new.html.erb** <div><%= f.label :username %><br /> <%= f.email_field :username %></div> **User.rb** class User < ActiveRecord::Base # Include default devise modules. Others available are: # :token_authenticatable, :encryptable, :confirmable, :lockable, :timeoutable and :omniauthable devise :database_authenticatable, :registerable, :recoverable, :rememberable, :trackable, :validatable, :authentication_keys => [:username] # Setup accessible (or protected) attributes for your model attr_accessible :email, :password, :password_confirmation, :remember_me, :username # attr_accessible :title, :body end **devise.rb** config.authentication_keys = [ :username ]

  • Using ActiveRecord::Base.transaction in a rake task?

    - by Brian Jordan
    I am writing a rake task which, at one point, uses a custom YAML file import method to seed the database. At one point in the import code, I have: ActiveRecord::Base.transaction do Trying to run the rake task throws: You have a nil object when you didn't expect it! You might have expected an instance of ActiveRecord::Base. The error occurred while evaluating nil.[] The stack trace points to the aforementioned line in the code. Is there a way to instantiate ActiveRecord::Base during a rake task? Thanks!

  • How to pass object in :with field for a link_to_remote call

    - by mathee
    I have an object elem that I'd like to pass to the remove_tag_from_cart method. Here is my attempt: -elem = @tags[1] #{elem.name}#{link_to_remote image_tag('x.png'), :url => {:controller => 'questions', :action => 'remove_tag_from_cart'}, :with => {:tag_to_remove => :elem}} The :with clause isn't working correctly. The image does not even show up. If I take out the :with clause, then the link properly shows up and calls the method correctly, but I need the elem object in order to remove it from the cart. Suggestions?

  • heroku logs --ps run showign nothing

    - by Zarne Dravitzki
    I have two running apps on heroku staging and production. They are near identical enviornments. (Staging has extra configs IE RailsFootnotes, Bullet gem) When I run heroku logs --ps run --app jl-staging Returns as logs like 2012-08-30T01:30:42+00:00 heroku[run.1]: Starting process with command `bundle exec rake jewellover:warn_users` This log is a Task set to run with Heroku Schedular Free. Everything Works perfect but when I do the same with heroku logs --ps run --app jl-production There are no results. No heroku[run.1] process logs. Both environments have the same scheduled tasks, albeit at different times but none the less both run scheduled tasks at specified times. Is there something im missing about heroku[run.1] processes in production env? Does heroku only keep the -ps logs for a certain amount of time? It seems to show less activity than the normal logs. Maybe only show 24hrs worth of logs rather than Last 100 logs... I need to log and debug the [run.1] process from the production env... specifically the jewellover:warn_users task. any ideas?

  • Get ANSI-colored output from external command

    - by German Rumm
    I am writing a small script for watchr that runs my PHP unit tests. Current script runs tests using system() and displays them colored. I am trying to add libnotify functionality, but for that I need to parse the output and match against regexp, so that notification will either display green or red. system() doesn't return output, %x does return, but puts p doesn't display colors, which I need to quickly see which test failed. One option would be to run tests twice - once for display in terminal window, and second time for checking which notification to show, but I would rather avoid it.

  • How can I spec out an authlogic sessions controller using using a stub?

    - by Dave
    I want to test my User Session Controller testing that a user session is first built then saved. My UserSession class looks like this: class UserSession < Authlogic::Session::Base end The create method of my UserSessionsController looks like this: def create @user_session = UserSession.new(params[:user_session]) if @user_session.save flash[:notice] = "Successfully logged in." redirect_back_or_default administer_home_page_url else render :new end end and my controller spec looks like this: describe UserSessionsController do it "should build a new user session" do UserSession.stub!(:new).with(:email, :password) UserSession.should_receive(:new).with(:email => "[email protected]", :password => "foobar") post :create, :user_session => { :email => "[email protected]", :password => "foobar" } end end I stub out the new method but I still get the following error when I run the test: Spec::Mocks::MockExpectationError in 'UserSessionsController should build a new user session' <UserSession (class)> received :new with unexpected arguments expected: ({:password=>"foobar", :email=>"[email protected]"}) got: ({:priority_record=>nil}, nil) It's although the new method is being called on UserSession before my controller code is getting called. Calling activate_authlogic makes no difference.

  • Saving a form using autocomplete instead of select field

    - by Jason Swett
    I have a form that looks like this: <%= form_for(@appointment) do |f| %> <% if @appointment.errors.any? %> <div id="error_explanation"> <h2><%= pluralize(@appointment.errors.count, "error") %> prohibited this appointment from being saved:</h2> <ul> <% @appointment.errors.full_messages.each do |msg| %> <li><%= msg %></li> <% end %> </ul> </div> <% end %> <%= f.fields_for @client do |client_form| %> <div class="field"> <%= client_form.label :name, "Client Name" %><br /> <%= client_form.text_field :name %> </div> <% end %> As you can see, the field for @client is a text field as opposed to select field. When I try to save my form, I get this error: Client(#23852094658120) expected, got ActiveSupport::HashWithIndifferentAccess(#23852079773520) That's not surprising. It seems to me that it was expecting a select field, which it could translate into a Client object, but instead it just got a string. I know I can do Client.find( :first, :conditions => { :name => params[:name] } ) to find a Client with that name, but how do I tell my form that that's what's going on?
