    I'm looking into installing Bugzilla either on a Windows or Linux box. Bugzilla requires a bunch of packages (apache, sql, mail sending?). Does anyone know of a pre-packaged installer which includes most common options or a linux virtual machine image?

  • Login box not shown on Ubuntu

    Hi, I've installed Ubuntu 10.04 (64bit) as a guest OS in VirtualBox, using Windows7 Professional (64bit) as host. After Ubuntu install, I did installed Xfce4 (sudo apt-get install xfce4). Logged in using a Xfce session, and when I logged out, I couldn't see the login box anymore, only the regular gnome background from login screen. Then I restarted the virtual machine, and now I'm not able to see the login box anymore, only the gnome background. Does someone knows how to solve this? Thanks in advance

    I have a VMware image that contains our "standard workstation" where I do a lot of testing. I used a Windows 7 Enterprise MAK key (from MSDN) for activation because the doc said that MAK keys don't have to be reactivated when the hardware changes. Activation was done with slmgr.vbs /ipk LICENSE-KEY slmgr.vbs /ato Now after some testing where the virtual hw was changed it says it "needs to activate because the hw has changed". What did I do wrong?

    One of the "features" of VMWare Fusion is that it associates files on the Mac host with programs in the VM. Unfortunately I uninstalled VMWare Fusion, and my Mac still has applications in VMWare Fusion associated with it. How can I remove the associations? I went to the Genius Bar, but they didn't know how to fix it (they cleared my cache, but that didn't do it.) I am running OSX Snow Leopard

  • Disk2VHD image used in Win 7 as a bootable VPC

    I have used Disk2VHD to create a VHD of my old XP Laptop's boot drive. I would like to use it as an XP virtual machine on my new Win7 machine. I have tried doingit on a second XP machine and the VPC boots properly using that VHD but under Win7 I can't get it to act as the boot disk for the VPC. Any ideas? TIA J

    We are about to set up SBS 2011 at my small company < 10 users. My collaborator wants to name the SBS domain "example.local" . I'm of the opinion we should name the SBS domain "corp.example.com" and setup DNS so the "corp" record is a NS record to the SBS server's private IP. FYI: "Example.com" isn't the real domain name and while the website is hosted outside our office, email will be stored on the SBS server in our office after passing though a spam filtering smart host hosted elsewhere too.

  • iis not listening on port 80

    We have server 2003 and ISA 2004 with IIS 6 on same machnie. Everything worked well till yesterday, when we try to make some new rule in ISA..but this is a long story... Unfortunatelly something happend with our intranet site. Our site is on the port 80, but if we try to open on this client machines then we got and error page (which error page is our provider): 403-forbidden; Remote host not listening, the remote host is not prepared to acceppt the connection request. On the server i can open the site with port 80. If i change the port number in the iis and try to open the site with the port, then works well. I try to shut down IIS and start apache with a simple page. On the server works well but in clients the problem is the same, so i think this is not an IIS related problem. In the ISA we have a web pub rule, with port 80, no auth. Im pulling out my hair, please help. after uninstall and reinstall ISA, de sites work well, till i configure the upstream proxy in the conf/network/web chaining menu and then everything went same... So something wrong with the web-proxy / upstream function... (all my http request forward to my upstream proxy). That was the set long time ago...but a few day ago somehing went wrong... I think maybee our ISP spoiled something..tomorrow i try to figure out... But one more thing: I make a new rule before the default rule in the conf/network/web chaining menu. Every request go to the server not redirected.. Redirect to upstream server.... So if the request goes to our server (our site) then handled locally, and if not then go to upstream proxy and voilllaaa....i tougth... But unfortunatelly: our website work well, but internet work extreamly slowly..:( Maybee with single adapter i can made this? I have to handle all request locally or i have to send all to upstream? I cant filter it?

    Hello, I have a Win 2008 R2 Data Center machine, and when I added the Hyper-V role, I got the following errors: 'Hypervisor' driver required by the Virtual Machine Management service is not installed or is disabled. Check your settings or try reinstalling the Hyper-V role. Hyper-V launch failed; Either VMX not present or not enabled in BIOS. ANy help would be appreciated as I am a n00b to the server world.   • Looking for a webhost to support SSRS Hosting with SQL Azure

    Since SQL Azure does not currently support SSRS, the only possible workaround is to host my own SSRS server and have it point to my SQL Azure instance for data retrieval. Now, for me it would be total overkill to rent a dedicated server with SQL server on it just for hosting SSRS. Are there any (shared) web hosters that offer SSRS hosting with third party SQL servers? I wanted to use FreeNAS to host files and share them via CIFS but I couldn't make FreeNAS authenticate with a Windows 2008 R2 domain controller. Is there a way to cache one of my game servers (all the files - even not actually used maps etc. - about 1,5 GB) to RAM?   • How to setup Hadoop cluster so that it accepts mapreduce jobs from remote computers?

    There is a computer I use for Hadoop map/reduce testing. This computer runs 4 Linux virtual machines (using Oracle virtual box). Each of them has Cloudera with Hadoop (distribution c3u4) installed and serves as a node of Hadoop cluster. One of those 4 nodes is master node running namenode and jobtracker, others are slave nodes. Normally I use this cluster from local network for testing. However when I try to access it from another network I cannot send any jobs to it. The computer running Hadoop cluster has public IP and can be reached over internet for another services. For example I am able to get HDFS (namenode) administration site and map/reduce (jobtracker) administration site (on ports 50070 and 50030 respectively) from remote network. Also it is possible to use Hue. Ports 8020 and 8021 are both allowed. What is blocking my map/reduce job submits from reaching the cluster? Is there some setting that I must change first in order to be able to submit map/reduce jobs remotely?     When I remote desktop to my Windows Server 2008 (a hosted virtual server) I see a login screen showing an icon for each user in the system. I can click on a user then enter a password and login. This is a terrible security oversight in my opinion as it gives anyone that might want to compromise my server a full list of valid usernames. Is there a way to revert to the old style of login screen requiring both username and password? Thanks

  • What’s the Minimum System Spec Recommended For Developer Laptop

    I'll be regularly running Visual Studio 2010 Professional, SQLServer Express, Office and at least 1 virtual environment running a Linux Distro. I want the machine to be snappy and responsive even when doing a reasonable amount of Development work. I want to spend what it takes for this, but I don't want to go overboard spending more than I need to. I won't be playing many games or graphics processing so i won't need a monster of a machine. Any recommendations?
