How to encode video to use HTML 5 video tag? [closed]

I'm trying to use <video> tag feature. I've encoded my file with ffmpeg: ffmpeg -i 1.vob -f ogg -vcodec libtheora -b 800k -g 300 -acodec libvorbis -ab 128k out.ogv I've placed this text in index.html: <video src="out.ogv" controls></video> I've loaded this files to nginx document root and opened index.html in Firefox 3.5. I see the first frame, see controls, but can't play video. This video plays good even from my server. How should I encode video to view it in browser? UPD: If I start playing video from the middle, everything works fine.

jQuery ajax multiline "script" response

I'm designing a template creation tool, which uses a jQuery Ajax request that posts parameters to a PHP file. The PHP does the actual generation of the template's HTML. // Send for processing. Using this, the PHP file generates some jQuery dialogs for any errors which works nicely. However, after I generate the HTML, i'm having trouble passing it back. So I have probably 100 lines of generated HTML and javascript which i'd like to work with. In the PHP file, i've tried: echo('$("#result").html("'.$html.'");'); This does actually work if there are NO line breaks in $html. As soon as there are any line breaks, the Chrome debugger reports "gen.html:1 Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token ILLEGAL". It's obvious that it's trying to eval the returned response headers, but is stopping at any line break. So, to be clear, when I pass $html back, if the contents are this: $html = "<div>hi there</div>"; It works fine (all of my error message dialogs are one line). But if it's: $html = "<div> hi there </div>"; It blows up. I'm really not sure how to get around this, or if there's a better way to go about it. It's important to me to keep the formatting so people can copy the HTML template. I may just break down and display the template file on the PHP page if I can't solve this, but I was really hoping to keep everything within the confines of the HTML page.

Can I use a MIME type declaration to get an HTML file to open in MS Word?

Is it possible to intercept an HTML form post and do some processing before sending it to it's final

I'm trying to extend the functionality of an ASP.net application that I'm working with. For its logon page, it uses an html form to post to a dll to handle it's login logic. I'm wondering if there is any way to redirect that html POST to my C# code so that I can do some processing and then (and this is the part that I haven't figured out yet) POST it to the dll so that the regular logon logic can continue. I can make changes to the logon page, but the final step must be to do an HTML POST to the dll. I can't change that.

I'm using: ForceType text/html;charset=utf-8 in my .htaccess file, but it's causing all externally linked CSS to stop rendering on their respective pages. So something like this: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="somestyles.css" media="all" /> no longer works on the page using it. I've also been trying combinations of: AddCharset utf-8 .html AddCharset utf-8 .htm AddCharset utf-8 .css AddCharset utf-8 .js ForceType text/html;charset=utf-8 ForceType text/css;charset=utf-8 but no luck so far. Does anyone know what's wrong?

ASP.NET MVC 2 client side validation not working for Html.ValidationMessage()?

I'm trying to get a very simple client side validation example to work in ASP.NET MVC 2. I'm using data annotations to set a required property "Surname". When I use the Html.ValidationMessageFor(x = x.Surname) the correct client side validation script is written to the page. But when I use Html.ValidationMessage("Surname") the client side validation is not rendered out until after the page has been posted. Client side validation only starts working after a form post! I can see that the script is updated in the page after a form post. There appears to be a bug in Html.ValidationMessage()?

I have a table in SQL Server 2005 with hundreds of rows with HTML content. Some of the content has HTML like: <span class=heading-2>Directions</span> where "Directions" changes depending on page name. I need to change all the <span class=heading-2> and </span> tags to <h2> and </h2> tags. I wrote this query to do content changes in the past, but it doesn't work for my current problem because of the ending HTML tag: Update ContentManager Set ContentManager.Content = replace(Cast(ContentManager.Content AS NVARCHAR(Max)), 'old text', 'new text') Does anyone know how I could accomplish the span to h2 replacing purely in T-SQL? Hi all - when I look up the syntax for .data(), it gives examples like this: $('body').data('foo', 52); I am doing AJAX loads and I was wondering if it is possible to store the incoming html using .data() so once the content is loaded, I would not need to do another AJAX load if the same link is clicked again - I would check to see if the .data key is empty. Our company would like to redirect all calls to html files on our server to a separate page. The html pages are NOT in an asp.net application. In order to do this, I've been writing and IIS Handler in asp.net. 1) Is this possible to add an IIS handler to redirect static content that isn't served by any asp.net engine, i.e. stand alone files on the server? 2) If it is possible, how do I do this? I created an http handler in a class library. In the app.config I added the handler to the and sections. I added the DLL to the GAC, I changed the html mapping to my custom IIS dll and nothing works. Is there a tutorial or explanation from A to B on how to do this? Thanks. E p.s. I'm using IIS 7.5

Does window.open not work inside an AIR html component?

I have a component in AIR like so: <mx:HTML id="html" width="100%" height="100%" location="https://example.com" locationChange="dispatchLocationChange(event)" /> The page it loads contains this: <a onclick="alert('onclick')">Alert</a> <a href="javascript:alert('js')">Alert</a> <a onclick="window.open('http://www.google.com','_blank')">new window</a> The 2 alerts both work. however nothing happens when you click the new window link. all 3 links works when in a real browser so I know its ok. Is there just no support for window.open in the AIR HTML component? or is this a bug? Is there a work around?

Best practices for parsing HTML from Wikipedia for iPhone viewing?

I am building an iPhone Wikipeida game app, that requires modifying the default Wiki HTML a little bit (mostly simplifying the page). So far I am directly downloading the HTML output from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Article_Foo to a python Google App Engine, and then modify its CSS and HTML structure, cache it, and finally output to iPhone. It works but I find this method quite tedious, there must be a better method? Please note that I use App Engine not just for parsing the Wiki, but the game also requires it to keep the stores...etc, hence not a overkill. Also, I would prefer doing all the work with python on App Engine, to keep the iPhone client as thin and mobile as possible (XML on iPhone is a big no fun) Thanks a lot.

Have you ever needed to detect what part of the application is currently being viewed? This might be a bigger issue if you write a lot of shared/partial views or custom display or editor templates. Another scenario, which is the one I encountered when I first started down this path, is when you have some type of menu and you’d like to be able to determine which item represents the current page so you can highlight it in some way. A simple example is the menu that is created as part of the default ASP.NET MVC 2 Application template. <div id="menucontainer"> <ul id="menu"> <li><%= Html.ActionLink("Home", "Index", "Home") %></li> <li><%= Html.ActionLink("About", "About", "Home") %></li> </ul> </div> The part that got me at first, however, was the following entry in the default style sheet (Site.css): ul#menu li.selected a { background-color: #fff; color: #000; } I assumed that the .selected class would automatically get applied to the active menu item. After trying a few different things, including the MvcContrib MenuBuilder, I decided to write my own extension methods so I would have more control over the output. First, I needed a way to determine what view the user has navigated to based on the requested URL and route configuration. localhost/phpmyadmin pulls blank page

When I tried configuring local machine as a Internet Gateway with website development capabilities over it and I installed all required software into it. I also had disable the selinux into it. But PROBLEM is when I do http://localhost/phpMyAdmin or all lower case than the page shows it as a blank page.
