  • JNDI / Classpath problem in glassfish

    I am in the process of converting a large J2EE app from EJB 2 to EJB 3 (all stateless session beans, using glassfish 2.1.1), and running out of ideas. The first EJB I converted (let's call it Foo) ran without major problems (it was the only one in its ejb-module and I could completely replace the deployment descriptor with annotations) and the app ran fine. But after converting the second one (let's call it Bar, one of several in a different ejb-module) there is a weird combination of problems: The app deploys without errors (nothing in the logs either) There is an error when looking up Bar via JNDI When looking at the JNDI tree in the glassfish admin console, Bar is not present at all. Is there a way to see the ClassPath that Glassfish is actually using?

    Good day to all; I'm developing a program using JSF2 and JPA2 (OpenJPA). Im also using IBM Rapid App Dev't v8 with WebSphere App Server v8 test server. I have two simple entities, Employee and Department. Each Department has many Employees and each Employee belongs to a Department (using deptno and workdept). My problem occurs when i tried to add a new employee and selecting a department from a combo box (using selectOneMenu - populated from Department table): when i run the program, the following error messages appeared: An Error Occurred: java.lang.NullPointerException Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException - java.lang.NullPointerException I also tried to make another program using Deptno and Workdept as String instead of integer, still doesn't work.     Hi, I need to read a complex model in an ordered way with eclipselink. The order is mandantory because it is a huge database and I want to have an output of a small portion of the database in a jface tableview. Trying to reorder it in the loading/quering thread takes too long and ordering it in the LabelProvider blocks the UI thread too much time, so I thought if Eclipselink could be used that way, that the database will order it, it might give me the performance I need. In the table view the x-axis is more or less created with the query Query q = em.createQuery("SELECT m FROM Item m ORDER BY m.name ASC"); using the "name" attribute from the Item objects as label. Each cell has the value Things.getProperties().get[x].getValue() Unfortunately the list "properties" is not ordered, so the combination of cell value and x-axis column number (x) is not necessarily correct. Therefore I need to order the list "properties" in the same way as I ordered the labeling of the x-axis. And exactly this is the thing I dont know how it is done. So querying for the Thing objects should return the list "properties" "ORDER BY name ASC" but of the "Item"s objects. My ideas are something like having a query with two JOINs. Joing Things with Property and with Item but somehow I was unable to get it to work yet. Thank you for your help and your ideas to solve this riddle.

    Is there a list somewhere of all the output message numbers from VSDB Depolyments (VsDbCmd.exe from Visual Studio Database Edition)? For example, TSD01268 = normal action successful TSD01236 = missing referenced file (fail) TSD01237 = missing script file (fail) TSD00566 = deployment script generated to _ The way we are wrapping calls to VsDbCmd.exe means catching the %errorlevel% isn't always reliable so we also like to check the output for certain error conditions. It would be nice to see a consolidated list somewhere.

So in the first iteration I would do something with'john' and 'John' and I want the next iteration to start at 'james'. I can't think of a way to do this using Python's for loop, any suggestions?

I read a .txt file containing russian text, and starting from a list of letters russian to english (ru=en), I loop the list and I WOULD like to replace russian characters with english characters. The problem is: I can see in the debug the right reading of the russian and the right reading of the english, but using myWord = myWord.Replace(ruChar, enChar), the string is not replaced. My txt file is a UTF-8 encoding.

    I would like to have layers of buttons over video playing in the background on my IPHONE application. Basically, I'm looking to adjust the Movie Player code, in order to allow the application user to tap on different portions of the screen while a video plays and call other commands (for example a video of puppets talking, if you touch one of the puppets, the video pauses and a second (smaller) window appears with a list of information about that puppet; when you exit that list, the video continues where it was paused).
