Need Help With This Simple Script (JavaScript Noob Question)

Hi everyone, I am new to JavaScript (only a couple of days of reading a book) and I am stuck on this code snippet. I have looked at it over and over again but cannot seem to figure out why it is not working. I am sure it is something really simple that I have just looked over but I really just need a fresh pair of eyes to look at this. The code is supposed to update a placeholder image on a page without the page having to reload. But when I am clicking on the link of an image, it is taking me to the link where the image is located instead of replacing the placeholder image. Portion from CGPDFPage + Scale (zoom)

I wanna take a rect from CGPDFPage (the portion of image around the user's touch point(x,y)) and scale it by a scaleFactor (ie 2x). Below the code I've used to get CGPDFPage's rect. The problem with it is the scaleFactor support. The idea is: 1) pageRect size is pageRect.size *2 2) myThumbRect (the region to zoom) become resultImageSize/scaleFactor (because the final output will be scaleFactor times bigger) 3) pointOfClick (x,y) become pointOfClick(2x,2y) 4) scale up the context by factor CGContextScaleCTM(ctx, scaleFactor, -scaleFactor); 5) grab the rect However the result is an empty image. How Do I Bind a "selected Item" in a Listbox to a ItemsControl in WPF?

LowDown: I am trying to create a Document Viewer in WPF. It will allow the user to preview selected documents and if they want, compare the documents in WPF. So they can view them side by side. The layout is this: Left side is a full list box. On the right side is a Collection or an Items control. Inside the items control will be a collection of the "selected documents" in the list box. So A user can select multiple items in the list box and for each new item they select, they can add the item to the collection on the right. I want the collection to look like a image gallery that shows up in Google/Bing Image searches. Make sense? The problem I am having is I can't get the WPFPreviewer to bind correctly to the selected item in the list box under the itemscontrol. Side Note: The WPFPreviewer is something Micorosft puts out that allows us to preview documents. Other previewers can be built for all types of documents, but im going basic here until I get this working right. How do I send an email with embedded images AND regular attachments in JavaMail?

Hi, I'd like to know how to build an SMTP multipart message in the correct order so that it will render correctly on the iPhone mail client (rendering correctly in GMail). I'm using Javamail to build up an email containing the following parts: A body part with content type "text/html; UTF-8" An embedded image attachment. A file attachment I am sending the mail via GMail SMTP (via SSL) and the mail is sent and rendered correctly using a GMail account, however, the mail does not render correctly on the iPhone mail client. On the iPhone mail client, the image is rendered before the "Before Image" text when it should be rendered afterwards. After the "Before Image" text there is an icon with a question mark (I assume it means it couldn't find the referenced CID). I'm not sure if this is a limitation of the iPhone mail client or a bug in my mail sending code (I strongly assume the latter). I think that perhaps the headers on my parts might by incorrect or perhaps I am providing the multiparts in the wrong order. Openlayers - LayerRedraw() / Feature rotation / Linestring coords

TLDR: I have an Openlayers map with a layer called 'track' I want to remove track and add track back in. Or figure out how to plot a triangle based off one set of coords & a heading(see below). I have an image 'imageFeature' on a layer that rotates on load to the direction being set. I want it to update this rotation that is set in 'styleMap' on a layer called 'tracking'. I set the var 'stylemap' to apply the external image & rotation. The 'imageFeature' is added to the layer at the coords specified. 'imageFeature' is removed. 'imageFeature' is added again in its new location. Rotation is not applied.. The image will move in coordinates as it should though. So what am I doing wrong with the redraw function or how can I get this image to rotate live? Thanks in advance -Ozaki Add: I managed to get map.layers[2].redraw(true); to sucessfully redraw layer 2. But it still does not update the rotation. I am thinking because the stylemap is updating. But it runs through the style map every n sec, but no updates to rotation and the variable for heading is updating correctly if i put a watch on it in firebug. If I were to draw a triangle with an array of points & linestring. How would I go about facing the triangle towards the heading. Help needed with drawRect:

Hi, I'm having a fundamental issue with use of drawRect: Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The application needs to draw a variety of .png images at different times, sometimes with animation, sometimes without. A design goal that I was hoping to adhere to is to have the code inside drawRect: very simple and "dumb" - i.e. just do drawing and no other application logic. To draw the image I am using the drawAtPoint: method of UIImage. Since this method does not take a CGContext as a parameter, it can only be called within the drawRect: method. So I have: - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { [firstImage drawAtPoint:CGPointMake(firstOffsetX, firstOffsetY)]; } All fine and dandy for one image. To draw multiple images (over time) the approach I have taken is to maintain an array of dictionaries with each dictionary containing an image, the point location to draw at and a flag to enable/suppress drawing for that image. I add dictionaries to the array over time and trigger drawing via the setNeedsDisplay: method of UIView. Use of an array of dictionaries allows me to completely reconstruct the entire display at any time. drawRect: now becomes: - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { for (NSMutableDictionary *imageDict in [self imageDisplayList]) { if ([[imageDict objectForKey:@"needsDisplay"] boolValue]) { [[imageDict objectForKey:@"image"] drawAtPoint:[[imageDict objectForKey:@"location"] CGPointValue]]; [imageDict setValue:[NSNumber numberWithBool:NO] forKey:@"needsDisplay"]; } } } Still OK. The code is simple and compact. Animating this is where I run into problems. The first problem is where do I put the animation code? Do I put it in UIView or UIViewController? If in UIView, do I put it in drawRect: or elsewhere? How can I bind events to strongly typed datasets of different types?

My application contains several forms which consist of a strongly typed datagridview, a strongly typed bindingsource, and a strongly typed table adapter. I am using some code in each form to update the database whenever the user leaves the current row, shifts focus away from the datagrid or the form, or closes the form. This code is the same in each case, so I want to make a subclass of form, from which all of these forms can inherit. But the strongly typed data objects all inherit from component, which doesn't expose the events I want to bind to or the methods I want to invoke. The only way I can see of gaining access to the events is to use: Type(string Name).GetEvent(string EventName).AddEventHandler(object Target,Delegate Handler) Similarly, I want to call the Update method of the strongly typed table adapter, and am using Type(string Name).GetMethod(String name, Type[] params).Invoke(object target, object[] params). It works ok, but it seems very heavy handed. Is there a better way? Multiple data series in real time plot

Hi, I'm kind of new to Python and trying to create a plotting app for values read via RS232 from a sensor. I've managed (after some reading and copying examples online) to get a plot working that updates on a timer which is great. My only trouble is that I can't manage to get multiple data series into the same plot. Does anyone have a solution to this? Reading serialised object from file

Hi everyone. I'm writing a little Java program (it's an ImageJ plugin, but the problem is not specifically ImageJ related) and I have some problem, most probably due to the fact that I never really programmed in Java before... So, I have a Vector of Vectors and I'm trying to save it to a file and read it. The variable is defined as: Vector <Vector <myROI> > ROIs = new Vector <Vector <myROI> >(); where myROI is a class that I previously defined. I tried just adding implements Serializable to the class definition, but it is not sufficient. Can anyone give me some hints on how to procede in this case? Also, how to get rid of the typecast warning?

iPhone App Crashes when merging managed object contexts

Short Version: Using two managed object contexts, and while the context is saving to the store the application bombs when I attempt to merge the two contexts and reload the table view. Long Version: Okay, so my application is set up as thus. 3 view controllers, all table views. Platforms View Controller - Games View Controller (Predicated upon platform selection) - Add Game View Controller I ran into a problem when Games View Controller was bombing when adding a new entry to the context, because the fetched results contorller wanted to update the view for something that didn't match the predicate. As a solution, I rebuilt the Add Controller to use a second NSManagedObject Context, called adding context, following the design pattern in the Core Data Books example. My Games List View Controller is a delegate for the add controller, to handle all the saving, so my addButtonPressed method looks like this - (IBAction) addButtonPressed: (id) sender { AddGameTableViewController *addGameVC = [[AddGameTableViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"AddGameTableViewController" bundle:nil]; NSManagedObjectContext *aAddingContext = [[NSManagedObjectContext alloc] init]; self.addingContext = aAddingContext; [aAddingContext release]; [addingContext setPersistentStoreCoordinator:[[gameResultsController managedObjectContext] persistentStoreCoordinator]]; addGameVC.context = addingContext; addGameVC.delegate = self; addGameVC.newGame = (Game *)[NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:@"Game" inManagedObjectContext:addingContext]; UINavigationController *addNavCon = [[UINavigationController alloc] initWithRootViewController:addGameVC]; [self presentModalViewController:addNavCon animated:YES]; [addGameVC release]; [addNavCon release]; } There is also a delegate method which handles the saving. This all works swimmingly. The issue is getting the table view controller in the GameListViewController to update itself. Per the example, an observer is added to watch for the second context to be saved, and then to merge the addingContext with the primary one. The save is processed, as the new game is present when I relaunch the application, and the application seems to be flowing as appropriate, but it bombs out for reasons that are beyond my understanding. The best JSF coding pattern for editing JPA entities using @RequestScoped only

I am in a project where I will write a lot of pages like this, so I want to use the most efficient (to write) coding pattern. Background: In the past I have used CODI's @ViewAccessScoped to preserve state between requests, and more recently I have started using flash scoped objects to save state. I can't use JSF @ViewScoped because I use CDI and they don't play well together. So I want to see if I can do this with only @RequestScoped backing beans. When the Save button is clicked, a new instance of Backing is built, and then there are a lot of calls to the getRecord() getter before the setID() setter is called. So the logic in getRecord() breaks because it cannot rely on the id property being valid when it is called. When this was a @ViewAccessScoped (or ViewScoped) backing bean, then both the id and record properties are already set when the form is processed with the commandButton. Alternatively you can save those properties in flash storage but that has its own problems I want to avoid. So is there a way to make this programming model work within the specification?

Doing a roll-in/roll-out slideshow in jQuery

I am trying to create a roll-in / roll-out slideshow in jQuery/JavaScript. My problem is, that it needs to be repeated. And right now when it's starting over, the pictures doesnt come from the right side anymore :( The reason for which I have created the slideLeft function, is that afterwards I need to create 2 functions, where the user can interrupt the slideshow manually pressing a left or right button. SOAP and NHibernate Session in C#

In a set of SOAP web services the user is authenticated with custom SOAP header (username/password). The problems come when an user (same username/password) calls the same WS at same time from different clients (machines). The state of the saved objects are inconsistent. How do I manage the session correctly to avoid this? I searched and the documentation about Session management in NHibernate is really vast. Should I Lock over user object? Should I set up a "session share" management between WS calls from same user? Should I use Transaction in some savvy way? Thanks Update1 Yes, mSession is 'session'. Update2 Even with a non-static session object the data saved in the DB are inconsistent. I really don't know what to do cause I'm pretty new to .net and mvc Any help appreciated! Ile EDIT: I found where I made mistake. I didn't include date. If in view form I add this line I'm able to add article: <%=Html.Hidden("Date", String.Format("{0:g}", Model.NewArticle.Date)) %> But, if I enter wrong datetype or leave title and content empty then I get the same error. In this eample there is no need for date edit, but I will need it for some other forms and validation will be necessary. EDIT 2: Error happens when posting! All, I am trying to make the width of the sharepoint 2010 web site to be within a fixed width and centered across the screen. I would like for it to be 800px and centered. When i do this, it seems like it starts to work until the ribbion bar renters. Openlayers - Redraw() layer. Add / Remove layer.

TLDR: I have an Openlayers map with a layer called 'track' I want to remove track and add track back in. I have an image 'imageFeature' on a layer that rotates on load to the direction being set. I want it to update this rotation that is set in 'styleMap' on a layer called 'tracking'. I set the var 'stylemap' to apply the external image & rotation. The 'imageFeature' is added to the layer at the coords specified. 'imageFeature' is removed. 'imageFeature' is added again in its new location. Rotation is not applied.. The image will move in coordinates as it should though. So what am I doing wrong with the redraw function or how can I get this image to rotate live? Thanks in advance -Ozaki Add: I managed to get map.layers[2].redraw(true); to sucessfully redraw layer 2. But it still does not update the rotation. I am thinking because the stylemap is updating. But it runs through the style map every n sec, but no updates to rotation and the variable for heading is updating correctly if i put a watch on it in firebug.

Using Optical Flow in EmguCV

I am trying to create simple touch game using EmguCV.Should I use optical flow to determine for interaction between images on screen and with my hand ,if changes of points somewhere on screen more than 100 where the image, it means my hand is over image? But how can I track this new points? Now, if I want, instead of using a storyboard, assign 45 degrees value directly, I can't do that, because <Setter TargetName="globalRotation" Property="Angle" Value="45"/>: it compiles with "Cannot find the Trigger target 'globalRotation'. (The target must appear before any Setters, Triggers, or Conditions that use it.)" error. What happens? I suppose that Storyboard.TargetName is evaluated during runtime, so let me compile it. Is it right? How to make it work with just a setter, without using a storyboard?

Android: OutofMemoryError: bitmap size exceeds VM budget with no reason I can see.

Hi. I am having an OutOfMemory exception with a gallery over 600x800 pixels JPEG's. The environment I've been using Gallery with JPG images around 600x800 pixels. Since my content may be a bit more complex than just images, I have set each view to be a RelativeLayout that wraps ImageView with the JPG. In order to "speed up" the user experience I have a simple cache of 4 slots that prefetches (in a looper) about 1 image left and 1 image right to the displayed image and keeps them in a 4 slot HashMap. The platform I am using AVD of 256 RAM and 128 Heap Size, with a 600x800 screen. It also happens on an Entourage Edge target, except that with the device it's harder to debug. The problem I have been getting an exception: OutofMemoryError: bitmap size exceeds VM budget And it happens when fetching the fifth image. I have tried to change the size of my image cache, and it is still the same. The strange thing: There should not be a memory problem In order to make sure the heap limit is very far away from what I need, I have defined a dummy 8MB array in the beginning, and left it unreferenced so it's immediately dispatched. It is a member of the activity thread and is defined as following static { @SuppressWarnings("unused") byte dummy[] = new byte[ 8*1024*1024 ]; } The result is that the heap size is nearly 11MB and it's all free. Note I have added that trick after it began to crash. It makes OutOfMemory less frequent. Now, I am using DDMS. Just before the crash (does not change much after the crash), DDMS shows: ID Heap Size Allocated Free %Used #Objects 1 11.195 MB 2.428 MB 8.767 MB 21.69% 47,156 And in the detail table it shows: Type Count Total Size Smallest Largest Median Average free 1,536 8.739MB 16B 7.750MB 24B 5.825KB The largest block is 7.7MB. And yet the LogCat says: ERROR/dalvikvm-heap(1923): 925200-byte external allocation too large for this process. If you mind the relation of the median and the average, it is plausible to assume that most of the available blocks are very small. However, there is a block large enough for the bitmap, it's 7.7M. How come it is still not enough? Note: I recorded a heap trace. When looking at the amount of data allocated, it does not feel like more than 2M is allocated. It does match the free memory report by DDMS. Could it be that I experience some problem like heap-fragmentation? How do I solve/workaround the problem? Is the heap shared to all threads? Could it be that I interpret the DDMS readout in a wrong way, and there is really no 900K block to allocate? If so, can anybody please tell me where I can see that? Thanks a lot Meymann
