  • iPhone: UITableView with custom cells for settings

    I want to use a UITableView for my settings screen. So that my settings view will look like apple does it, with a group table view, and then the UI elements to let you change settings. So, it does not seem like the cells are loaded from an array, but seems like each one is customized. Ideas on how to do this?

  • JUnitCore.runClasses doesn't print anything....

    I have a test class that I'm trying to run from a main method with the folowing code : Result r = org.junit.runner.JUnitCore.runClasses(TestReader.class); when I examine the Result object I can see that 5 tests have been run but nothing is printed on the screen. Should I do something else to get an output ?

  • Where / how often do I need to show trademarks and registration marks for 3rd-party software?

    In the application my company publishes, we refer to 3rd-party software in several places: user manual, in the application UI itself, etc. Are we legally required to display the trademark or registration mark symbols next to the trademarked/registered names of 3rd-party software? If so, must they be displayed every time the name is mentioned, or is it sufficient to acknowledge the registration once (for example, in the application's splash screen or the introduction section of the user manual)?

  • HTML table with fixed headers?

    Does anyone know a cross-browser CSS/Javascript technique to display a long html table such that the column headers stay fixed on-screen and do not scroll with the table body. Think of the "freeze panes" effect in excel. I want to be able to scroll through the contents of the table, but to always be able to see the column headers at the top.

    I'm learning Chinese at the moment and I have gotten my hand on a Chinese dictionary definition. Now I would like to make an interface. All I really want the application to do is when I point my mouse pointer over any text on the screen (in any window), it would identify the text I am pointing at and then display a small form over it, which would the chinese transaction. Is that possible to do? Can WinForms apps interact with windows outside of it's own application?

  • How to line-wrap console output in NetBeans 6.8?

    Is there a way to make the console output text wrap based on the actual width of the window? I have limited screen height real estate on my laptop, and so want to have the console window docked on the right rather than the bottom of the window. An option or a plugin is fine, I'm using NetBeans 6.8. If this exists in a newer version of NetBeans, please say so, but I can't install a dev build.

    If I call "[NSString stringWithFormat:@"Testing \n %@",variableString]"; I get what I would expect, which is Testing, followed by a new line, then the contents of variableString. However, if i try NSString *testString = @"Testing \n %@"; //forgive shorthand here [NSString stringWithFormat,testString,variableString] the output actually literally writes \n to the screen instead of a newline. any workaround to this? seems odd to me

    Hey all, I'm working on a project and I'm wondering how to get a type of window common in Windows's wireless controls, as shown in the screen shot below: http://cybernetnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/windows-7-wireless.jpg There's no close or maximize buttons, but the border is still present. My tools include Expression Blend 3 and Visual Studio 08. I was also wondering what the font used on these are, as it doesn't seem to be the normal Tahoma found in Office 7. Thanks, Mason

  • Custom Monitor Resolution not recognized by Java

    My weird monitor's native resolution isn't recognized by Windows, so I have to set a custom resolution for it. The problem is that java doesn't recognize it since it's not on Win7's "approved" list, so full-screen mode gets "stuck". Netbeans comes out of full-screen fine, so there has to be a way around this. Anyone know it?     I am coding a simple space empire management game in Visual C# 2008, which relies on connecting to a remote SQL server database to get/store data. I would like the user to be able to connect to a user-specified SQL server from the login screen(he specifies IP address, port, database name, ID, password and presses "connect" button). However, I found out that the Dataset connection string property is read only and cannot be changed. Is there any way to guide the wizard-generated DataSet to a user-specified server at run time?

  • How to speed up 'cold start' of .NET component called from VB6 app

    I have a VB6 app which brings up a form by invoking a .NET DLL, but the problem is that this form takes almost 5 seconds to appear after a menu item in the VB6 app is selected. How can I speed this up? I'm thinking that one possible solution is to load the Form from the .NET DLL during the splash screen of the VB6 app but make invisible or somehow not show it, and then when the menu item is selected I will make it show or visible. What are my options?
