• Cross domain cookie reading/setting cross browsers

  I know there are already a few threads available here on this subject but I want others' opinion on this. There are two ways to set/read the cross domain cookies: Creating IFrame on A.com pointing to a page on B.com which creates the cookie and pass that information by creating another IFrame on B.com side pointing to A.com, either using window.name or in location.href.hash A.com page makes a XHR/JSONP call to B.com web service/page that has the following headers and it also sets up the cookie and returns the value. AddHeader("p3p", "CP=\"IDC DSP COR ADM DEVi TAIi PSA PSD IVAi IVDi CONi HIS OUR IND CNT\"") As we don't have postMessage available across all the browsers, I believe we have to go with one of the cases mentioned above. My question is which is a better way (cleaner) and why to implement for cross browser. Using any other JS framework is out of scope of this discussion. • Need help with Zend Framework dynamic Namespaces

  I want to make my system redirect unknown requests such as www.address.com/a_company to the adress www.address.com/companies/company/ and display the company a_company if it exists in the database, otherwise throw the user to a 404 not found page. So in detail, I want to make namespace that is as the first example dynamically, if the company exist in the database, I have no problem connecting to the database and retrieving information or finding a way to parse a company name, I just need help how to make my system check and run a function every time the address doesn't exist and show the second page (/companies/company/).. I am using an Acl as well, but I think it should be fine if the page is /companies/company and then possibly add /?c=a_company or similar. Thank you. /Marcus

  I'm not clear on exactly what the -R flag does for chflags. I was wondering if someone might be able to help me. The man page says this: Recurse: Change the file flags of file hierarchies rooted in the files instead of just the files themselves. I don't understand what that means. • Ajax Div Maintain Height

  Greetings, I have a list of user comments on a page, with a next button which makes an Ajax call to get the second set of comments. The problem is, the height of the comments div temporarily becomes very small while the loading bar is in place. This makes the user need to scroll back down to see the new comments The issue can be seen at the bottom of this page by clicking "Next" comments. Is there a way to force the div to maintain its height through Javascript? I do not want to hard code the div height in case a page has 3 or less comments.

I mean I want the code to be in parent page only One thing I can think of is: Somewhat parent knows when the child is closed (event listenr??? not sure in js) But in such case how to receive the argument? (i.e. some data back from the child)

  I'm trying to hook up URL dispatch with PLT Scheme. I've taken a look at the tutorial and the server documentation. I can figure out how to route requests to the same servlets. Going to localhost:8080/posts/test goes to a PLT "file not found" page (with the above code, I'd expect it to go to a page that says "review-post test"). It feels like I'm missing something small and obvious. Can anyone give me a hint?

  Hi folks, I wish to authenticate a user without having the page reloaded, and having the user submit a given form. However, the problem that I immediately run into here is that the authenticity token typically gets set when the page is reloaded. I need the authenticity token for the form submission, but i do not have it yet because the page is yet to reload. I figure this cannot be that rare - anyone has any idea on how to resolve this? 1 idea could be getting rails to pass back the authenticity token after authentication, but i do not know how to access it from the controller 1) not logined user sees form 2) not logined user types in message and submit 3) facebox asking for authentication 4) after authentication, submit form automatically without refreshing 5) //but authenticity token is needed for form submission, which is not there yet

  So we have an f:event: <f:metadata> <f:event type="preRenderView" listener="#{dashboardBacking.loadProjectListFromDB}"/> </f:metadata> Which is triggered as desired on initial page load (render). However this preRenderView event is also triggered by an ajax partial page render, which re-renders an h:panelgroup with the id projectListing, as below. <h:commandButton action="#{mrBean.addProject}" value="Create Project" title="Start a new project"> <f:ajax render="projectListing" /> </h:commandButton> I only want the dashboardBacking.loadProjectListFromDB to be called for the initial page render, but not when there is an ajax partial render. Is there a more appropriate event or method I could be using?

• Flash video playing on top of everything else in IE7

  Hi everyone, I've been spending hours now reading up on IE7's issue with rendering Flash content on top of other elements, particularly navigation menus (this is often a problem with dropdown menus and Flash ad banners, for example). • Reload signal for UWSGI when using Supervisord?

  I have been using UWSGI behind Nginx and I've set supervisord to restart the Nginx and UWSGI instances in case of a server reboot. I am debugging my application and sometimes need to reload the application. According to this page I should be sending SIGHUP in order to do a graceful reload. I could find a stopsignal config setting on this page, but I couldn't find any entry related to something like "reloadsignal" or "restartsignal". Any ideas?

• Display a "Waiting Message" before the POST form send

  I have a upload file form, when you hit Submit it send the file to my server, but it takes a while, in the mean time i need to tell the user wait in order to get the file uploaded, because he can press Submit again because there is no menssage to prevent him. So, the user fill a few fields in the form, including a file. When he Send the form it sends the variables via POST to the same page: <form action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>" enctype="multipart/form-data" method="post"> A php script detect the page now have POST variables a do something. In the time between the send action and the page reload i need to display a mensage, how can i do that??? Thanks It will be nice if you now how to trigger that with colorbox. • Need to parse HTML document for links-- use a library like html5lib or something else?

  I'm a very newbie webpage builder, currently working on creating a website that needs to change link colours according to the destination page. The links will be sorted into different classes (e.g. good, bad, neutral) by certain user input criteria-- e.g. links with content the user would find of interest is colored blue, stuff that the user (presumably) doesn't want to see is colored as normal text, etc. I reckon I need a way to parse the webpage for links to the content (stored in MySQL database), change the colors for all the links on the page (so I need to be able to change the link classes in the HTML as well) before outputting the adapted page to the user. I read that regex is not a good way to find those links-- so should I use a library, and if so, is html5lib good for what I'm doing?

• Change the get parameters in the address bar in jquery

  when you search on yelp, by adding additional search parameters the page does not reload. I think the results are changed based on ajax, however when you click on one of the restaruants and go back to the previous page. All of the parameters are still there. I noticed the address bars change as the parameters change. I found http://www.asual.com/jquery/address/ but it seems to add # at the end of the url. Is there a way to make it simply like index.php?xyz=1 without refreshing the page

A page contain multiple radio buttoned values and one choice is to made, this correct choice option is hidden within the page the radio buttons are present in the form whose structure is <form name="bloogs" action="/myaddres.php" id="bloogs" method="post" > then the hidden field as <input type=hidden value="abcd" name="ans"> then all the radio button values are followed as <input type="radio" id="r1" name="opt" value="abcd"> abcd <input type="radio" id="r1" name="opt" value="efgh"> efgh <input type="radio" id="r1" name="opt" value="ijkl"> ijkl and so on thus i need the button with value=abcd be selected as soon as the page loads. • Are there any Multifunction printer/scanners with duplex and long document scanning?

  Do any of the $200 or less multifunction printer / scanners support duplex scanning, and possibly long page scanning? Features I'm looking for in a scanner are: Duplex scanning (scan's both sides) ADF (Document feeder allowing a stack of documents) Long page scanning (legal documents or very long receipts) Good quality for pictures The printer side isn't as important, and in fact if there was a good scanner that did the above well I could do without the printer. I suppose $200 isn't a hard limit, just what I'm aiming for.

• Fix for iframe calling location.href

  I'm trying to embed a mapquest direction page such as http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1c=Ann+Arbor&1s=MI&1a=1440+Hubbard+St&1z=48109-2083&1y=US&1l=42.293437&1g=-83.724491&1v=ADDRESS&2c=Ann+Arbor&2s=MI&2a=930+N+University+Ave&2z=48109-1055&2y=US&2l=42.278558&2g=-83.737969&2v=ADDRESS using an iframe. The problem is at least one of their javascripts calls location.href which is causing the script to hang. If I'm not mistaken this is because the page I'm embedding the page on is in a different domain. Are there any ways around this?

• Facebook Like Box

  I'm trying to add a Facebook "Like Box" to an existing website, as described here The Page I'm promoting works just fine in preview-box on that page. But when I copy/paste the code as shown to my website, it instead shows a fraction of an empty facebook page with only a partially visible error message. <iframe src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/likebox.php?profile_id=SenRandyGordon&amp;width=260&amp;connections=10&amp;stream=true&amp;header=true" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowTransparency="true" style="border:none; overflow:hidden; width:260px; height:px"></iframe> I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong, and I added "Like Box"'s in the past, before Facebook released their new API. Please help?
