Des statistiques qui viennent de sortir publiquement montrent un nouveau succès. En effet, sur 61.5 millions d'abonnés mobiles américains possédant des smartphones (tous modèles et marques confondus), 26 % possèdent un appareil tournant sous Android, contre 25% d'iPhones. Ces chiffres, les plus récents que l'on ai, sont ceux de novembre 2010. Pourtant, un mois plutôt, la situation était inversée : Apple précédait encore Google, avec respectivement 24.6% et 23.5%.

  This is the presentation I did tonight at PHILLYNJ.NET.  It is the first in a multi-part of a series on the Applied Design Patterns.   The solution files are working code with design pattern notes in the comment blocks. After the overview and higher level discussions on Enterprise Design Patterns I reviewed the low level Database Access Library of code.  With walk-throughs of the the code and unint test. After that we went through the ProductPhotoConsoleTest Application that performed intergration testing of the DBAccess Class with the AdventureWorks ProductPhoto table extracting the photos and writing them to a file folder. • Determining an application's dependencies

  I have developed an application using Windows Forms in C++ (IDE MS VC++ 2010). Some parts of the application also use MFC, and OpenCV. I want to send the application to my cleint for interim testing on his own machine. I have not developed any installer for the application, so I will be sending him an .EXE file. I want the client to not face any difficulties in replicating the environment, and therefore not lose any time. Can somebody suggest me what software (such as MS VC++ Runtime, .NET Framework, Windows SDK, etc.) should be installed on the client's machine for successfull testing of the application? Note: The OS (Windows 7) and hardware are exactly the same on both sides.

• Why are cryptic short identifiers still so common in low-level programming?

  There used to be very good reasons for keeping instruction / register names short. Those reasons no longer apply, but short cryptic names are still very common in low-level programming. Why is this? Is it just because old habits are hard to break, or are there better reasons? For example: Atmel ATMEGA32U2 (2010?): TIFR1 (instead of TimerCounter1InterruptFlag), ICR1H (instead of InputCapture1High), DDRB (instead of DataDirectionPortB), etc. .NET CLR instruction set (2002): bge.s (instead of branch-if-greater.signed), etc. Aren't the longer, non-cryptic names easier to work with?

My problem: I run a site with most of the content distributed to subdomains that’s are user based. E.g: Joe.example.com John.example.com Jil.example.com So all of these subdomains have the content and the main site example.com becomes a mere dummy listing all the subdomains. Now the question is, as of 2012, how is google treating domain authority and page rank in this case? I understand the notion of page rank as page per se but when it comes to domain authority will the parent domain have the cumulative effect of the domain authority or will it be spread out?

• How can I get my game to show up in the Games Explorer on Windows?

  I want to create an installer for a game which allows for an icon to be put in the Games Explorer for Vista and Windows 7. I have created the GDF, then built the script for project and obtained the .h, .gdf and .rc files. But I can't compile (using Visual Studio 2010) the .rc file into an executable to be used after that in order to create the installer. I get the following error after I set the executable path: "Could not load file or assembly'Microsoft.VisualStudio.HpcDebugger.Impl, Version 10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublickKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified." Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

For the very first time, with SharePoint 2013, we will have apps from different vendors, talking to different domains live in the browser. Sound fun eh? Well, all is hunky dory until you consider that browsers don’t have concepts such as process isolation, encryption, obfuscation etc.. Stuff that we are so used to in operating systems that we don’t even think about it. Browsers have JavaScript, and broken HTML5 – it is not secure!   I'm reading "Professional Team Foundation Server 2010" by Wrox, and in an advantages/disadvantages list, the said: "Like CVS, SVN makes use of .svn directories inside the source folders to store state of the local working copy, and to allow synchronization with the server. However, it can have the affect of polluting the local source tree, and can cause performance issues wiht very large projects or files." What does the bit about pollution mean? I've used SVN for C# & ASP.NET projects for a long time and haven't encountered any problems. What probably does this quote think I should have been watching out for?

  When I'm using C# to write some code and I define an interface using Visual Studio 2010, it always includes a number of "using" statements (as shown in the example) using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; namespace TestEngine.TestNameSpace { interface ITest1 { bool testMethod(int xyz); } } I wonder what these are for and if they are really necessary. Can I leave these out? Are they only necessary when I'm using those parts in my interface description?
