  • How can I plot a time series graph with Perl?

    I have some data from a database (SQLite), mapping a value (an integer) to a date. A date is a string with this format: YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm. The dates are not uniformly distributed. I want do draw a line graph with the dates on X and the values on Y. What is the easiest way to do this with Perl? I tried DBIx::Chart but I could not make it recognize my dates. I also tried GD::Graph, but as the documentation says: GD::Graph does not support numerical x axis the way it should. Data for X axes should be equally spaced

  • .NET ClickOnce not installing prerequisite files?

    I have a .NET project that uses Crystal Reports. The application is distributed using ClickOnce. Things work great if the user has Crystal installed on their computer. However, not all of the end users have Crystal Reports installed on their computers. These users are receiving the following error... "Unable to install or run the application. The application requires that assembly CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.XmlSerialize Version 10.5.3700.0 be installed in the Global Assembly Cache (GAC) first." Is there a way to force ClickOnce installs to ensure that a prerequisite is installed?

  • Android: Learning the platform, have any app suggestions?

I just want to hear some suggestions from the community about what types of applications I should start with to help learn more advanced interactions with the platform.     There's a few mentions of Javascript newbies getting starting by checking out some of Douglas Crockford's work (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11246/best-resources-to-learn-javascript), but none of his resources seem to be for those looking to learn from the ground up. Are there any suggestions for complete beginners regarding how best to learn JavaScript? Personally I have plenty of HTML and CSS experience, and some PHP (which would help learning JS), but for those that don't know any programming language what would you recommend?

  • How do I superimpose one bitmap image on another in GDI+?

    Using GDI+ I've made a heatmap bmp and I'd like to superimpose it on top of my bmp map. I've saved the two bmps to disk, and they look good, I just need a way to put them together. Is there any way to do this, perhaps using the Graphics object? How is transparency/alpa involved? I'm very new to GDI programming so please be as specific as possible.
