• Asp.net ajax combobox doesn't display correctly when inserted inside a tab control.

  Hi everybody, I have a display problem when I try to use a ajax combobox inside a tab control: when my tab control loads on the page where the combobox is, everything works fine; however, if it loads on a another page, the you change to the page which contains the combobox, the right button (which opens the list of the combobox) isn't displayed at all. Has someone been through this behavior? And maybe found a solution ? Thanks in advance !

On the other hand we have magic turned off, everything is clear, but we have to manually escape every variable (that come from untrusted source) in templates. By the way, non-magic solution is used in Ruby-on-Rails. So the question is: when starting a new project in symfony do you disable escaping_strategy and why?

  There are a lot of questions about formatting forms so that labels align, and almost all the answers which suggest a pure CSS solution (as opposed to using a table) provide a fixed width to the label element. But isn't this mixing content and presentation? In order to choose the right width you basically have to see how big your longest label is and try a pixel width value until "it fits". This means that if you change your labels you also have to change your CSS.

  Is there any good practice related to dynamic_cast error handling (except not using it when you don't have to)? I'm wondering how should I go about NULL and bad_cast it can throw. Should I check for both? And if I catch bad_cast or detect NULL I probably can't recover anyway... For now, I'm using assert to check if dynamic_cast returned not NULL value. Would you accept this solution on a code review?

  How can I remove the current cell focus from a Windows Forms datagridview ? I have a dialog with some datagridforms and initially I don't want to have a cell selection. Actually in every gridview the cell [1,1] is selected I have already searched in some forums, but the provided solutions doesn't work. For example often it is recommended to set CurrentCell = null -- but this has no effect. Has anybody another solution, which really works ;-) ?

  I'm considering storing some date values as ints. i.e 201003150900 Excepting the fact that I lose any timezone information, is there anything else I should be concerned about with his solution? Any queries using this column would be simple 'where after or before' type lookups. i.e Where datefield is less than 201103000000 (before March next year). currently the app is using MSSQL2005.   Hi, I have strange problem with sharepoint and ajax functionality. We have an UpdatePanel placed inside webpart. When partial postback occurs, page title gets missing. We have found that temporary partial solution is to write title element into one line and not use any spaces or controls inside it..not even a literal control. But we need some way to provide sommon title for all pages, so title would look like this: My default title - Current page title Any ideas how to solve this?
