  • changing command line arguments

    Hi, I am writing a C program. It takes its arguments from commandLine. I want to change the commandLine arguments in the code. As they are defined as "const char *", I can not change them using "strcpy", "memcpy", ... Also, you know, I can not just change their type from "const char *" to "char *".   • Hyper-V Manager version 6.2, an experience in virtual switch setup

    The version number of Hyper-V manager is 6.2.9200.16384   This is what came with my Windows 8 work laptop (by enabling Windows features) The blogs I read indicated that I need an external switch for my guest OS to access internet, and an internal one for them to share folder with my Host OS.  I proceeded to create an external virtual switch, and here is the screenshot. After setting up the network adapters on the guest OS, I peeked into host OS networking, and saw that Network Bridge was already created.  GREAT!  So I fired up my guest OS and darn, no internet.  Then I noticed that my host internet was gone, too.  I looked further and found that even though I have a network bridge, no connection has the status "Bridged"Once I removed the bridge (by removing individual connection from the bridge, I know, weird, since none of them say "Bridged" in status)  I re-selected the connection that I want and add them to the bridge to create a new network bridge.  Once my wireless connection status shows "Bridged", I was able to get to internet from my guest OS.Two things I noticed after I got internet for everyone ( my host and guest OS):My network adapters in the host OS no longer shows "Bridged", but everyone can still get to the internetThe virtual switch that I set up for "External" is now showing to be "Internal", and I was able to create shared folder between host and guest OS.  This means I didn't have to create the other "Internal" virtual switch.

    Hi, I am writing a python script on Linux for twitter post using API, Is it possible to pass symbols like "(" ")" etc in clear text without apostrophes.... % ./twitterupdate this is me #works fine % ./twitterupdate this is bad :(( #this leaves a error on bash.     I can't figure how to have cmd.exe not interpret something like %PATH% as an environment variable. To upgrade the existing component, refer to the template.ini and set the UPGRADE property to the name of the component."* I have also tried using the UPGRADE method as per the error message #define SQL_UPGRADE "UPGRADE=SQL_Engine INSTANCENAME=MYSQLINSTANCE" but get the following error: "SQL Server Setup cannot perform the upgrade because the component is not installed on the computer.     Hello All, First of all I am very thankful to the owner of this website. I have learned and implement various technologies with the help of solutions provided by the readers. I know the question I asked is posted many time in this forum. And I have tired all of the solutions available, but no luck I may case I am trying to read a dat file which is basically a msg/feed file having more than 22000 Characters. Every line may or may not be of same length. My requirement is to convert the file to fixed line length character file. I have a logic that work well using vb script, however its pretty slow. I have checked with For f/ but no luck. The only delimiter I have is EOT, which i can see in Textpad but not in notepad. I have tried with \n, token=. Please help me in resolving the issue.   • [MSVC++ 2008] Using preprocessor directives to define command line options

    If I wanted to add, let's say, a new .lib to the build only if a particular #define was set, how would I do that? In the MSVC++ 2008 "Property Pages", you would simply add: Config Properties -> Linker -> Input -> Additional Dependencies, but I would like it if something like #define COMPILE_WITH_DETOURS was set, then the particular library would be added to the dependencies, otherwise it would be removed. Thanks!

    Hello Guys, I want to make a slick java commandline app which doesnt include all the nasty "java -jar some.jar arguments" instead, I would have it work just like program -option argument like any other commandline app. I use ubuntu linux, and it would be fine if it included a bit of .sh script or anything. I know I can just create a file with java -jar program.jar and do chmod +x file, afterwards I could run i with ./file, but then how can I pass the arguments to the program ?

  • Command line does not execute my parameters

    I have created a batch file to run an application automatically but it seems my CMD does not run it. I typed this (using notepad as an example): CMD /C "C:\notepad2\notepad2.exe" If I run this from Windows Vista it worked. But running this from Windows Server 2008 (64-bit) it just doesn't work. I even try using that line from the Run menu but no go. What do I do? My aim is to run a scheduled task that runs the batch file every now and then.

  • How can I delete virtual networks from command line?

    I have Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 (without GUI) running at my colo for a week. I was connected via RDP and could use the menu interface and command line. I figured out how to connect Hyper-V Manager from my Win7 laptop (THANK YOU HVREMOTE!), and created and installed my VM. I created a virtual network that didn't work (no connectivity from my VM) so I created another using different settings, and now have lost access to the Hyper-V host. No ping, no RDP. Since I don't have console access, I cannot troubleshoot. I believe if I deleted the Virtual Networks I'd regain access, but I need a command line instruction for this, that the staff onsite could enter to accomplish this. I find no help anywhere obvious (MSDN, etc), the keywords are too general. Can anyone refer me to simple steps how to do this over command line or with the menu based interface on the console?

  • How can I stop new Command Prompt windows spawned by another program from covering my foreground win

    Under Windows 7 x64, when I'm ripping CDs with Exact Audio Copy, it spawns a Command Prompt window each time it invokes the external MP3 compression program I use, LAME. While that's going on, I usually like to surf the web. However, I find it quite annoying that even when Firefox has the foreground, the Command Prompt windows spawned by EAC are coming up in the foreground, on top of my Firefox window. Is there a way to make those new Command Prompt windows spawn in the background? Alternatively, is there a way to make the current active window stay in the foreground / on top while I'm using it?

    I am trying to write a beautify CSS command in vim that sorts and alphabetizes all of the CSS properties as well as checks to see if there is not a space after the colon and inserts one. However, I am trying to pipe them into one command. On save VIM says: Error detected while processing /var/home/jesse-atkinson/.vimrc: line 196: E488: Trailing characters Any ideas?

  • Is it possible to add files to the "Wordpress Media Library" using the command line?

    Wordpress has it's own "Media Library" which is used when you upload images and other media for use in blog posts and pages. The advantage of the media library is that it automatically produces thumbnails of the images and the web interface gives you extra info such as who uploaded the image, which articles use the image, etc. My question is, does anyone have any tips on interacting with the media library via the command line instead of using the Wordpress web interface? For example, any ideas on how to add a image to the media library from the command line? If I copy files to the media library directory (usually .../wp-content/uploads/YYYY/MM/) from the command line they do not show up in the Wordpress dashboard - I guess because there needs to be an associated database entry for the media to be registered with Wordpress.

    I want to put my windows pc (win7) into a sleep state via command line (so i can bind to macro button on keyboard). The power button on the PC is setup to but the computer to sleep (but it's down on the floor and I'm too lazy to reach down) it exactly how I want it (sleeps using hybrid mode in case I loose power) The sleep command on the shutdown menu also works. most info I found says to use; %windir%\system32\rundll32.exe PowrProf.dll, SetSuspendState 0,1,0 But this puts the computer in hibernate mode. I do have hibernate disabled but using hybrid sleep. So, What is the command to use to put your computer to sleep (not hibernate)?
