    Hello, We have a series of products with built in web servers each of which has a login page, a customer wants to create a web portal in which they log into once, from there they can simply click on any of the devices (external websites) and it will automatically login to that site and redirect them to the page after the login screen. The portal is using ASP.NET MVC, the external devices are Windows CE based units running embedded web servers. Can find a lot on scraping, but not much on redirection after the event.     Hi Folks, Afaik, you can change/manipulate browser settings in Mozilla/Netscape browsers. For Instance "netscape.security.PrivilegeManager.enablePrivilege('someprivilege');" Of course the user gets informed about that and needs to verify the action.     Hi, I seem to recall that it's possible to return the resulting object count from an NSPredicate in CoreData without actually performing a fetch, but I can't find any reference to this. It helps us to measure how (in)efficient an algorithm really is and if you know in what category the problem you are trying to solve lays in you can figure out if it is still possible to squeeze out that little extra performance.* But I'm curious, how do you calculate or approximate the complexity of your algorithms? *: but as they say, don't overdo it, premature optimization is the root of all evil, and optimization without a justified cause should deserve that name as well.

    Hey guys. I am writing an App using JTwitter however I need to authenticate in order to not have the 150 requests per minute on the public api. Jtwitter seems to support OAuth however I have some questions. My app will be running behind a company firewall - so the URL wont be accessible outside of the company's network - will callback authorisation work, and does anybody have an example of using callback authorisation using OAuth in JTwitter - because I cannot work it out in order to try it.   • Ajax cross domain call

    Hi Folks, I know about ajax cross-domain policy. So I can't just call "http://www.google.com" over a ajax HTTP request and display the results somewhere on my site. I tried it with dataType "jsonp", that actually would work, but I get a syntax error (obviously because the received data is not json formated) Is there any other possiblity to receive/display data from a foreign domain ? iFrames follow the same policy?     Do you see any problem with this: I'm in ASP.net and I'm using pikachoose jquery slideshow. It works fine in IE and was working in Firefox. However, somehow it's now stopped working in firefox and firebug is giving the doctype line above out as a syntax error and $ is not defined for the jquery script? Any ideas Thanks Andy

I really like mindmapping as a way to organise information and I think it would be really cool to have a piece of software that allowed you to organise bookmarks into a dynamic mind map.   • Is unobtrusive RJS files in Rails 3 considered a good idea?

    I'm working on implementing javascript functionality in my rails 3 app. Now that rjs is supposedly unobtrusive (I honestly don't know a lot about rjs), is it still "evil"? It seems to me the downside may be a lack of testability, but partial page updates via rjs seem to be easier than jumping through the rails hurdles to make ajax requests via jquery. Thoughts? Examples?

Basically I don't want to show the tag in the testimonial viewed in a block on the front page but rather I do want it to show on another page.     Having had a quick look at the Flex docs I can't seem to find any reference to providing audio content to be played from a custom (possibly encrypted - don't worry, it's not that evil) container format. Is this possible and if so, could someone point me in the right direction. Or if that's not possible, some way to hook into the disk/network (disk is much more important in this case) I/O of the sound playing mechanism to provide a supported container in memory from a custom wrapper.

    We all know 'code smells', but what are the fundamental 'database smells'? I'm a DB n00b, but I'll give an example of something that I find fishy. It seems to me like when I have to join 6-8 tables together to optimize our loading that we have a DB smell? Or would that be a pretty 'normal' database layout? (Sure, early optimization is the root of all evil, but this seems to me like early pessimisation, not to mention the cumbersomeness?)

    Hi, I have created a really basic project (Make) like this: (ede-proj-project "zrm" :name "zrm" :file "Project.ede" :targets (list (ede-proj-target-makefile-program "zm" :name "zrm" :path "" :source '("zrm.c") ) ) ) When doing M-x ede-proj-regenerate RET and M-x compile RET RET (accepting make -k as my compile command), make keeps bailing with a **missing separator error. When editing my Makefile outside of Emacs (with the darn evil vi) and replacing spaces by tabs, it works. Is there anything special I should pay attention in order to have this work ? Regards
