• Programmaticaly change lightdm autologin session type

  I have problem with lightdm setting autologin session type (using my config tool). Lightdm logs into previously selected session. I see that autologin-session is UNIMPLEMENTED in version 1.2.1. Maybe I can somehow cheat lightdm? but it seems program writes actual state when stopping and overwrites my changes to /home/user/.dmrc and /var/cache/lightdm/user.dmrc. At the current I have two sessions: default and kiosk. in /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf I have line: user-session=desktop but after I logged into kiosk session it starts all the time. Changing .dmrc and /var/cache/lightdm/dmrc/user.dmrc doesn't work.

  Do I really need Session Replication? I am working on a number of web projects for a firm. Most of the projects are about one or two pages of input and then doing a save to a mysql database. Very Basic projects. My SA's are pushing to try to get session replication working in JBoss but I don't really see any need for it and all of its overhead. We need load balancing and clustering so if the server does go down we can move the new requests to the backup service but I am not to big in session replication. This is very low volume projects. In my eyes what is the odds of a user being in the project as the server goes down on the one or two pages. I need to convince the SAs that session replication is an un-necessary complication in this instance. I am looking for pros and cons of session replication so that I can better structure my argument.

Is the best way to store sessions in: Database (more reliable, but high bottleneck, slow speed, not good for high database usage websites)? • Where can I download the Gnome 3 Icons?

  After poking around on the Internet for awhile, I haven't been able to find the default icons used in Gnome 3 anywhere. My requirements are fairly simple: SVGs would be nice, but not necessary This doesn't need to be installable as an icon theme in Ubuntu A compressed folder with all of the icons would be good, but I don't mind browsing a repository and downloading individual icons. As a last resort, I could always download a full Gnome 3 iso and find the icons that way, but hopefully someone knows of a better solution.

  Looks like it is easy to log keystrokes of all processes of the same user. A basic keylogger is 'xinput'. xinput test-xi2 The command generates log of all key-presses. Unfortunately, this includes passwords in gnome-terminal. Googling suggested that grabbing keyboard may prevent other windows from capturing key strokes. Is there a way to prevent XI2 logging in gnome-terminal? Or is there an X terminal that has this feature?

• ASP C# Web Developer default login, getting user ID session value

  I've used the built-in wizard in Visual Web Developer 2008 to create a simple login system. I'd like to get hold of the logged in user's ID, but I'm not sure how. Peeking in the ASPNETDB.MDF in the table aspnet_Users, the column appears to be called "UserId". I gave it a go: Response.Write("ID: " + Session["UserId"]); but it's coming up blank. How do I do this? (This is not for a live project, no need to point out the sillyness in using the wizard.) Thanks

I have used Session["username"]=null in the Page_Load function of Home Page. How to avoid going back to the Home Page when the BACK button is clicked by the User??

• Safari Back button not honouring PHP logout session

  I've got a logout.php page which ends a user's session and works well and does the following: session_start(); session_unset(); session_destroy(); I've just noticed when testing with Safari that when you logout you can click the back button to return to the previous page which requires authentication but are not prompted. You cannot navigate away from this page without entering the navigation but it should not be displaying the previous page in the first place. So far in my testing this is only an issue with Safari on Mac OS X and there are a number of other reports about this but with no resolution that I could find: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Web_Development/Web_Languages-Standards/PHP/Q_23702691.html I would love to be able to disable this behaviour with Safari's back button - surprised that this is happening in the first place.   Hello all, I've been struggling with this for quite awhile and haven't been able to find a solution. I need a user to be able to view multiple top level domains with a single login. My understanding is that this needs to be set in environment.rb and called with before_dispatch. This is what I've come up with: require 'activesupport' require 'dispatcher' module ActionController class Dispatcher def set_session_domain ActionController::Base.session_options.update :session_domain => "#{@request.host}" end before_dispatch :set_session_domain end end However, this does not seem to be working when I try and pull the values from session[:session_domain]. Any help is greatly appreciated.

• Session Variable Not Being Saved When Using Wizard Control ASP.NET

  I have a wizard control. When someone clicks a button within the wizard control I automatically advance to the next step (rather than forcing them to click next). However, this seems to cause the session state variable not to be saved. I've done some research and noticed that Response.Redirect does hard redirects that truncate page execution - and that you can add a false parameter to prevent this...what I'm wondering is if the wizard control is doing the same thing and if so, if I can add a parameter to this as well?   Hello I'm having a problem with getting sessions to persist, and having no luck searching, I need to ask. I can access the contents of my session as expected when first set, but as soon as the page refreshes I lose everything and I don't see why. session_start() is set and I'm not unseting or destroying anything. I looked at PHP Info under sessions and everything looks ok (but my understanding of sessions is limited). I'm running MAMP on OS 10.5, and the last time I used sessions they worked.
