• Javascript not working IE any version

  Hey everyone. I am having some issues on my end and hopefully it's just something on my end but, could someone take a look at THIS PAGE in IE and let me know if you can see what is wrong. Please check it out first in FF or Chrome or Safari because it all works fine in those browsers. The two scripts I am using are a custom-ish dropdown menu and another using jcarousel lite. I can't seem to figure out what the problem is. Thanks for any help!!!

• css problem with unordered lists (as usual with IE)

  I am using un-ordered lists that nests some divs to show the desired output on screen. I am using css to style them and they seem to look perfect on chrome and firefox. But in IE(8) it looks there is a problem which I was unable to locate. • config.cache_classes = true in production mode has problems in IE

  Hi Dears, In my rails app. I am using link_to_function to bring an ajax tabs in one page.Everything works fine in Moazilla and other browsers. But in IE the tabs are not loading only when the server is started in production mode(doesn't matter whether its webrick or mongrel). In development mode everything is fine. So I figured out that the issue was with one line config.cache_classes = true in app/config/environments/production.rb when i changed the above code to config.cache_classes = false everything works fine. So I assume caching causes problem in rails. When I Googled about this I found many have the issues with caching. So my question is 1) is there any other fix for this? 2) Does this fix (config.cache_classes = false) causes any performance issues. If then how to overcome that? • Cookie Blocked popup in IE

  I have a website hosted in a server named msa_inst_server. In my login page ,after user enter the username,i will check whether cookies are available or not,But when i access the login page in IE 6.0 in one machine in the local network,I am getting a pop up saying that I have added the site to trusted zone,changed the settings to allow all cookies.But no way to get rid of this problem. Any thoughts.... ? Does the underscore in the server name matters ? Thanks in advance

• Help with IE bugs when writing JSON via an ASPX response

  I have an ASPX page that I am using to write JSON. It works great in Firefox and Chrome, but when I try and use it in IE 8 it gives me an "The XML page cannot be displayed" error instead of allowing jQuery to load the JSON being written by the response. Any ideas? • CSS sticky footer makes scroll bar unscrollable in IE 8

In IE8 the scrollbar appears but doesn't work, and I don't have any other way to move down. • Inserting a newline into a pre tag (IE, Javascript)

  In IE when I insert text into a <pre> tag the newlines are ignored: <pre id="putItHere"></pre> <script> function putText() { document.getElementById("putItHere").innerHTML = "first line\nsecond line"; } </script> Using \r\n instead of a plain \n does not work. <br/> does work but inserts an extra blank line in FF, which is not acceptable for my purposes.

• position:fixed on element in ie7/8 and problems with the scrolling of the content inside it

  I got an element fixed in the center of the screen, having specific dimensions (let's say 500x500). The element has content, which is larger then the height of the element and thus causes scroll bar to appear, which is fine. In FF/WebKit everything works nice. However in IE 7/8 ... content of the fixed element doesn't scroll, or scrolls with HUGE delay. If I change position:fixed to position:absolute, it starts to scroll fine, but with position:fixed... it's just a pain!.. Is it some known issue? Anyone heard/encountered something like that? Any ideas how to deal with such?...

  Consider the following snippet: $(document).bind('mousemove', function(e) { $('#someDiv').css({left: e.pageX+'px', top: e.pageY+'px'}); }); This should make #someDiv follow the mouse (tooltip), when the css value for "position" is set to absolute. Works as expected, except when you Zoom IN or OUT in IE7 ( dind't try other version of IE). Then the e.pageX gets completely off. The more you zoom in (using your mousewheel + CTRL), the more off the positioning gets. I've tried to break jQuery's UI demos (sliders) and it seems not even jQuery guys have this figured out. Is there any genius out there who knows how to fix this nasty thing? Thanks in advance!

  My web page does not have the autocomplete attribute that would tell browsers not to autocomplete the field. In spite of not having this attribute, IE 8 or Safari (not sure on other browsers) does not autocomplete the page. Autocomplete does work on some sites (such as Gmail) so I am assuming that the browser setting is not causing it? • Form with target="_blank" will produce empty POST data in IE6

  I have an iframe containing a form. I want the form to point to a new window when the user submits it. Basically, the following code should do the trick: <?php var_dump($_POST); ?> <form method="post" action="test_post_to_blank.php" target="_blank"> <input type="text" name="test" value="test" /> <input type="submit" /> </form> The problem is that in IE6 a new window is opened with empty POST data. • Navigation Dropdown Text Color doesn't work in FF and IE

  Hello, I was able to get the navigation dropdown to show the letters in a different color from the background (white in this case) in Chrome browser. But when I view the same page in IE or FF, the whole background is just all green. It will not appear in IE 7/8 no matter what I do! I've tried everything I can think of, including: generating the ICO with a variety of different utilities, changing the syntax of the favicon link elements in the document head, using absolute, relative, and root-relative URLs in the favicon link elements, using a PNG instead of an ICO file, ensuring that I am uploading the file via FTP in binary mode, As a longtime web developer/programmer, I can't believe that this is tripping me up.   Hi guys, I've just installed and setup sIFR on my Magento store. I've quadruple checked the .css files and everything's loading ok I think. Also, in IE it doesn't display at all and every .css and .js file has an error according to the error log in IE8. Here's some code: $('.mybtn').live('click', function(e){ e.preventDefault(); $('#mypage').load('load-this-page.htm'); }); And here's the html <div id="mypage"> <a href="#" class="mybtn">clickme</a> // stuff goes here </div> On page load the click works but once the div is loaded via the clickme link the click stops working in IE7. The clickme link is within the div on load and also within the load() loaded html file that's why I'm using live(). This code works in FF 3.6, fyi. Anyone have any idea what's up (besides the fact the IE sucks balls)? Thanks!

• Graphical Submit button doesn't 'post' in Firefox or IE

  I've looked all over the net to try and solve this problem, but I can't find any solutions. So far, I've checked 3 different browsers.
