    hi all, I am trying to install ruby on rails in my own intranet, I don't have an internet connection. There are several tutorials out there that try to explain how to do so, but they don't seem to work. Does anyone know of a full installation (including ruby, rails, IDE) that doesn't demand downloading files from the internet? Thanks alot!

    I have a main server with windows server 2008 with active directory installed. Additionally, I have created the hyper-v virtual server with MOSS 2007 installed with dynamic ip address. I can access the sharepoint site as an intranet. How can I assign the access of all the active directory users and their profile to MOSS without adding them up manually ?   • Can I integrate many sources into one RSS reader?

    I'm looking to integrate a bunch of RSS/ATOM sources into a feed for our intranet. This is outside my usual realm of work so I've had very limited exposure to this. I'd like to integrate all the feeds into a single reader such that all the news items are in chronological release order. Is this doable? Do I need a special component? Or can I make the ASP.NET integrated components do all this simply enough?

    We use self signed certificates on our intranet. What do I need to do to get IE8 to accept them without showing an error message to the user? What we did for IE7 apparently isn't working. EDIT: IE7 wouldn't show any errors if I put the certificate into trusted root certification authorities. IE8 seems to show errors even with the certificate there.

  • iPhone apps for company-internal use - possible?

    I hope this is still programming related, as SuperUser doesn't seem the appropriate place. Basically I wonder if it is possible to have Applications that are internal to a company on the iPhone? That is something like a companion Application to an Intranet (when Safari and Mail just don't cut it) which wouldn't make sense on the AppStore (and likely wouldn't get approved anyway). Is something like that possible (without Jailbreaking or doing anything else that Apple doesn't normally want)?

I want users to be redirected to http://abc.somecompanyname.com whenever they type http://abc to the URL bar. Could someone please provide and example or point me in the right direction. I've tried setting the global Ext.enableFx to false, and confirmed that flag is still false after page load in Firebug. The animations are still occurring though so I must be doing something wrong.   • IIS hosting, asp.net mvc

    Hi I have a site that uses flex and calls controller actions which returns json to the flex. This works fine in a dev server , the folder that has the flex app lives inside the web project and in the dev ennvironment, makes calls hostname, ie www.someurl.com in the actual live scenario, this will be an intranet so not hostname to call, the flex app seems to have trouble calling http://localhost/Virtual directory name it seems to totally miss the virtual directory name. I am obviously missing something basic, any help?

    Seems simple but users have no internet access. The application will be hosted internally on as Intranet site. The application will be able to make webservice calls to the internet. I tested and tried Mapquest. However all the other providers seems to assume the users are able to access the internet so their API's are javascript based with src tags pointing to internet URL's Any ideas?

  • Is it possible to virtualize war file execution without separate J2EE container deployments?

    Let's say I want to allow my developers to upload their war files to a web app (not the application server itself) running on our intranet and that web app would then run those wars as if they were separate apps deployed individually in our J2EE container. In other words, we are not actually deploying the wars as separate apps in the container - they are simply running side-by-side inside this one web app that acts like a J2EE container. Is that possible? Something like a war virtualization app?

  • ASP.NET MVC 2 Preview 2 Route Request Not Working

    Here's the error: The incoming request does not match any route. Basically I upgraded from Preview 1 to Preview 2 and got rid of a load of redundant stuff in relation to areas (as described by Phil Haack). It didn't work so I created a brand new project to check out how its dealt with in Preview 2. The file Default.aspx no longer exists which contains the following: public void Page_Load(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { // Change the current path so that the Routing handler can correctly interpret // the request, then restore the original path so that the OutputCache module // can correctly process the response (if caching is enabled). string originalPath = Request.Path; HttpContext.Current.RewritePath(Request.ApplicationPath, false); IHttpHandler httpHandler = new MvcHttpHandler(); httpHandler.ProcessRequest(HttpContext.Current); HttpContext.Current.RewritePath(originalPath, false); } The error I received points to the line httpHandler.ProcessRequest(HttpContext.Current); yet in newer projects none of this even exists. To test it, I quickly deleted Default.aspx but then absolutely nothing worked, I didn't even receive any errors. This static html page is continously updated in the background by a program running on that PC and people access this html page by typing the shared file path directly in the browser.
