  • Some animation requests in a Silverlight application

    I am making a flash card application. It shows the question and then a textbox for user input, all wrapped in a border or rectangle. So what I want is an animation that "flips" the rectangle or border upside-down and then their is text on the "back". Also, I want my application to APPEAR transition from one card to another by "flying off" the screen then "another" card comes in to replace the other one in the opposite direction. But actually I'm want just a little animation of the border or rectangle moving off the screen then coming back in, but in the opposite direction.

  • how to parse jquery ajax xhtml response?

    Sorry if this has been posted many times. But I've tried many variations and it still doesn't work. The HTML comes back from the jquery AJAX call fine and I am trying to remove the header and footers from the response using: // none of these work for me $("#content", data); $("#content", $(data)); $(data).find("#content").html() I've breakpoint the response to verify the #content exists by inspected $(data) and using alert to print out the data's text. I've also try using "body" or "a" as selectors, but it always come back as undefined. I've read in this post that you can't pull in the full XHTML document: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1050333/jquery-ajax-parse-response-text. But I can't find the answer's quote anymore, maybe it's outdated? Has anyone ran into this problem? Many thanks, Steve

This should supposedly, call the controller's action and return a result that should be replaced with the placeholder DIV. If I add a SUBMIT button to the form, it works perfectly, but when I invoke the submit via jQuery, the whole page is refreshed, and the content returned by the server is displayed in the newly displayed page.   • jQuery one form multiple tabs

    I'm trying to declutter the a particular page (e-commerce article edition) It's a big form with many informational sections. I used jQuery tabs to separate the form in three. The first tab is the one who has the submit button. Let's say I go to tab2 and change something, then go to tab1 to make some final edits and submit, the contents of tab2 doesn't get submited because it's hidden and the php script doesn't get the data from any other tab than tab1 I don't want to save until the user actually hits on the submit button. Is there a way to change this behaviour of jquery tabs?

  • jquery ui dialog fixed positioning

    Hi, I needed the dialog to maintain its position fixed even if the page scrolled, so i used the extension at http://forum.jquery.com/topic/dialog-position-fixed-12-1-2010 but there's 2 problems with it: it flickers in IE and Firefox on page scroll (in Safari/Chrome it's fine) on closing and then reopening, it looses its stickyness and scrolls along with the page. Here's the code i'm using for creating the dialog: $('<div id="'+divpm_id+'"><div id="inner_'+divpm_id+'"></div><textarea class="msgTxt" id="txt'+divpm_id+'" rows="2"></textarea></div>') .dialog({ autoOpen: true, title: user_str, height: 200, stack: true, sticky: true //uses ui dialog extension to keep it fixed }); And here's the code i'm using for reopening it: jQuery('#'+divpm_id).parent().css('display','block'); Suggestions/solutions?   • Android animation clipping when going between layouts

    I have a fairly complex layout. I use a relative layout as the root and then inside of it I have a few table views and some further nesting. When I animate an imageview between these layouts my image clips. I have a background on the parent layout and the animation looks like it's going under it. I have set android:clipChildren="false" and android:clipToPadding="false" on all of the layouts. I've also set anim.setZAdjustment(Animation.ZORDER_TOP); on all of my animations. What am I doing wrong?

  • Cannot display returned JSON from a JQUERY AJAX call in CodeIgniter

    Im using JQUERY + CodeIgniter. I can't seem to get the returned data to display after an ajax call. Here is my JQUERY: $.post("<?= site_url('plan/get_conflict') ?>", { user_id : user_id, datetime_from : plan_datetime_start, datetime_to : plan_datetime_end, json : true }, function(data) { alert(data); }, "json"); Here is my CodeIgniter: function get_conflict() { ... log_message("debug","get_conflict(): $result"); return $result; } My logs show: get_conflict(): {"work_product_name":"Functional Design Document","datetime_start_plan":"2010-04-22 08:00:00","datetime_end_plan":"2010-04-22 09:00:00","overlap_seconds":3600} Meaning the JSON is being returned correctly. However, the alert(data) nor alert(data.work_product_name) are not displayed. Any ideas?

    If I had a date picker within an action sheet and called the following line: [datePicker setDate:newDate animated:YES]; And then my app hides the action sheet the date picker is within, is there anyway to set up a animation delegate so that the user see's the animation of the date picker first and then hides the action sheet? I have done this with UIView's by calling: [UIView setAnimationDelegate:self]; [UIView setAnimationDidStopSelector:@selector(METHOD)]; However I can not see anything like this for the date picker.     I need to do a cross-domain request in a chrome extension. I know I can it via message passing but I'd rather stick to just jQuery idioms (so my javascript can also work as a <script src="">). I do the normal: $.getJSON("http://api.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne?tags=cat&tagmode=any&format=json&jsoncallback=?", callback(function(data) { alert(data); }); but in the error console I see: Uncaught ReferenceError: jsonp1271044791817 is not defined Is jQuery not inserting the callback function correctly into the document? What can I do to make this work?

  • jQuery ajax() function is ignoring dataType parameter in Firefox

    I'm trying to use jQuery.ajax() to fetch some html, but Firefox is giving me a "junk after document element" error message. As explained here and here the problem seems to be that Firefox is expecting XML from the server, and when it doesn't parse correctly it throws the error. Here's my ajax code: jQuery.ajax({ url: name, dataType: "html", success: function(result) { console.log(result); }, error: function (jqXHR, textStatus, errorThrown) { console.log(errorThrown); } }); The server returns the html with these response headers: Accept-Ranges bytes Content-Length 2957 Last-Modified Tue, 02 Jul 2013 16:16:59 GMT Note that there's no content-type header. I'm sure that adding one would solve the problem, but that's not an option. The real problem is that Firefox appears to be ignoring the dataType: parameter in the ajax call. I've also tried adding contentType: and accepts: parameters, but it doesn't help. What am I missing here? How do I force Firefox to process the response as plain text?

  • iPhone "slide to unlock" animation

    Any ideas as to how Apple implemented the "slide to unlock" (also, "slide to power off" is another identical example) animation? I thought about some sort of animating mask - but masking is not available on the iPhone OS for performance reasons. Is there some private API effect (like SuckEffect) that they might have used? A spotlight type of effect? Some Core Animation thing? Edit: It's definitely not a series of stills. I've seen examples of being edit a plist value or something and customize the string on jailbroken iphones.

    I am using Symfony PHP Framework to create web application, and using symfony Forms to create the HTML forms. I am trying to load the data in Select element using Ajax, for that i am using jQuery's Ajax functions. It is working fine as it sends and gets the response correctly(status as 200), but not calling the Callback function in some browsers such as IE,Chrome and Safari.It works fine in Firefox and Opera. the Code that is not working, $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: 'form/ajax', async: true, cache: false, dataType : 'json', data: 'id='+ids, success: function(jsonData){ alert("ok go"); } }); the alert "OK Go" is not called in Chrome,IE and Safari But $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: 'form/ajax', async: true, cache: false, dataType : 'json', data: 'id='+ids, success: alert("ok go"); }); this works, but as per the project i want the JSON data to load in my Select element. is there any thing wrong in the return JSON format or the bug in the jQuery Ajax functions, please help.

    I need to select elements based on values stored in an element's .data() object. At a minimum, I'd like to select top-level data properties using selectors, perhaps like this: $('a').data("category","music"); $('a:data(category=music)'); Or perhaps the selector would be in regular attribute selector format: $('a[category=music]'); Or in attribute format, but with a specifier to indicate it is in .data(): $('a[:category=music]'); I've found James Padolsey's implementation to look simple, yet good. The selector formats above mirror methods shown on that page. There is also this Sizzle patch. For some reason, I recall reading a while back that jQuery 1.4 would include support for selectors on values in the jquery .data() object. However, now that I'm looking for it, I can't find it. Maybe it was just a feature request that I saw. Is there support for this and I'm just not seeing it? Ideally, I'd like to support sub-properties in data() using dot notation. Like this: $('a').data("user",{name: {first:"Tom",last:"Smith"},username: "tomsmith"}); $('a[:user.name.first=Tom]'); I also would like to support multiple data selectors, where only elements with ALL specified data selectors are found. The regular jquery multiple selector does an OR operation. For instance, $('a.big, a.small') selects a tags with either class big or small). I'm looking for an AND, perhaps like this: $('a').data("artist",{id: 3281, name: "Madonna"}); $('a').data("category","music"); $('a[:category=music && :artist.name=Madonna]'); Lastly, it would be great if comparison operators and regex features were available on data selectors. So $(a[:artist.id>5000]) would be possible. I realize I could probably do much of this using filter(), but it would be nice to have a simple selector format. What solutions are available to do this? Is Jame's Padolsey's the best solution at this time? My concern is primarily in regards to performance, but also in the extra features like sub-property dot-notation and multiple data selectors. Are there other implementations that support these things or are better in some way?

  • Android SDK - Animation prevents further events on View like OnClick()

    I have an ImageView which is animated via startAnimation() to slide it into the screen. It is visible and enabled in the XML. When I add a Handler for a delay or an onClick event, nothing happens. When I remove the startAnimation() everything works fine. Except the animation of course. Heres my code: balloon.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View view) { view.setVisibility(View.GONE); } }); Animation dropDown = AnimationUtils.loadAnimation(context, R.anim.balloon_slide_down); dropDown.setStartOffset(1500); balloon.startAnimation(dropDown); Any ideas why that is?     I've a jQuery plug-in that operates on some ULs, adding and removing classes etc. During the life-cycle of the page, I'll need to add/ remove some classes in code, and as my plug-in needs to perform some additional operations when this happens I came up with the following: // This is the initialiser method... $.fn.objectBuilder = function (options) {...}; // These are the two new methods I need. $.fn.objectBuilder.setSelected(element) {...}; $.fn.objectBuilder.removeSelected() {...}; I'd then like to call them like this: $("#ob1").objectbuilder.removeSelected(); Any thoughts?   • Want to load jquery dialog from a different web-page

    I'm a bit of a n00b with jquery so this one is probably an RTFM question: I'm writing an application to create a somewhat complex record for my client. Building the record requires doing a couple of server side searches inside a dialog. Right now I have everything framed up in 1 file (asp.net) and it's ok. But I can see as I add the business logic and the communication with the server this is going to get really ugly. I'm alreay putting most of the javascript in external files, but I'd like to move the HTML for the dialogs out too. How do I get the jquery dialog method to load the dialog body from the html files? Something like: getDialogHTML(dialogHolderDiv); <---magic goes here var dialogOptions = { ... }; $("#"+dialogHolderDiv).dialog(dialogOptions); $("#"+dialogHolderDiv).dialog('open'); any help will be apperciated .
