  • Correctly calling setGridWidth on a jqGrid inside a jQueryUI Dialog

    - by Dan
    I have a jQueryUI dialog (#locDialog) which has a jqGrid ($grid) inside it. When the Dialog opens (initially, but it gets called whenever it opens), I want the $grid to resize to the size of the $locDialog. When I do this initially, I get scrollbars inside the grid (not inside the dialog). If I debug the code, I see the width of the $grid is 677. So, I call setGridWidth() again and check the width and now I have 659, which is 18px less, which is the size of the scroll area for the jqGrid (Dun-dun-dun..) When I rezie the dialog, I resize the grid as well, and everything is happy - no scrollbars, except where necessary. My dialog init code: $locDialog = $('#location-dialog').dialog({ autoOpen: false, modal: true, position: ['center', 100], width: 700, height:500, resizable: true, buttons: { "Show Selected": function() {alert($('#grid').jqGrid('getGridParam','selarrrow'));}, "OK": function() {$(this).dialog('close');}, "Cancel": function() {$(this).dialog('close');} }, open: function(event, ui) { $grid.setGridHeight($(this).height()-54); // No idea why 54 is the magic number here $grid.setGridWidth($(this).width(), true); }, close: function(event, ui) { }, resizeStop: function(event, ui) { $grid.setGridWidth($locDialog.width(), true); $grid.setGridHeight($locDialog.height()-54); } }); I am curious if anyone has seen this before. Really, it isn't the end of the world if I initially have unnecessary scrollbars at first, but it is just odd that when I call setGridWidth initially, it doesn't take into account the scroll area of 18px. As far as the magical number 54, that is the number I had to subtract from the height of the dialog value to get the grid to render without unnecessary scrollbars.

  • WinForms Control.BeginInvoke asynchronous callback

    - by Darran
    I have a number of Janus grid controls that need to be populated on an application startup. I'd like to load these grids on different threads to speed startup time and the time it takes to refresh these grids. Each grid is on a seperate tab. Ideally I'd like to use Control.BeginInvoke on each grid and on the grid load completing the tabs will become enabled. I know with Delegates you can do a Asynchronous callback when using BeginInvoke, so I could enable the tabs in the asynchronous callback, however when using Control.BeginInvoke this is not possible. Is there a way to do asynchronous callbacks using Control.BeginInvoke or possibly a better solution? So far I have: public delegate void BindDelegate(IMyGrid grid); private IAsyncResult InvokeBind(IMyGrid grid) { return ((Control)grid).BeginInvoke( new BindDelegate(DoBind), new object[] { grid } ); } private void DoBind(IMyGrid grid) { grid.Bind(); // Expensive operation } private void RefreshComplete() { IAsyncResult grid1Asynch = InvokeBind(grid1); IAsyncResult grid2Asynch = InvokeBind(grid2); IAsyncResult grid3Asynch = InvokeBind(grid2); IAsyncResult grid4Asynch = InvokeBind(grid3); IAsyncResult grid5Asynch = InvokeBind(grid4); IAsyncResult grid6Asynch = InvokeBind(grid5); } Now I could spin off a separate thread and keep checking to see if the IAsynchResults have completed and depending on which one completes I could re-enable the Tab control that the grid is contained in. Is there a better way of doing this?

  • Silverlight: stretching to remaining space in StackPanel

    - by crimson13
    I have a vertical StackPanel with two elements: a Button and a ListBox. How can I have the ListBox stretch to the remaining page height? <StackPanel Height="Auto" Width="Auto"> <Button Height="30" Width="100" Content="Get Content" x:Name="GetContent"/> <ListBox Height="Auto" Width="Auto" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"/> </StackPanel> Note that I got this to work using a Grid: <Grid> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> <RowDefinition Height="*"/> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="*"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Button Width="100" Height="30" Content="Get Content" Click="OnGetContent" Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="0"/> <data:DataGrid x:Name="MyContent" Margin="0,5" Grid.Row="1" Grid.Column="0"/> </Grid>

  • MVC 2.0 - JqGrid Sorting with Mulitple Tables

    - by Billy Logan
    I am in the process of implementing the jqGrid and would like to be able to use the sorting functionality. I have run into some issues with sorting columns that are related to the base table. Here is the script to load the grid: public JsonResult GetData(GridSettings grid) { try { using (IWE dataContext = new IWE()) { var query = dataContext.LKTYPE.Include("VWEPICORCATEGORY").AsQueryable(); ////sorting query = query.OrderBy<LKTYPE>(grid.SortColumn, grid.SortOrder); //count var count = query.Count(); //paging var data = query.Skip((grid.PageIndex - 1) * grid.PageSize).Take(grid.PageSize).ToArray(); //converting in grid format var result = new { total = (int)Math.Ceiling((double)count / grid.PageSize), page = grid.PageIndex, records = count, rows = (from host in data select new { TYPE_ID = host.TYPE_ID, TYPE = host.TYPE, CR_ACTIVE = host.CR_ACTIVE, description = host.VWEPICORCATEGORY.description }).ToArray() }; return Json(result, JsonRequestBehavior.AllowGet); } } catch (Exception ex) { //send the error email ExceptionPolicy.HandleException(ex, "Exception Policy"); } //have to return something if there is an issue return Json(""); } As you can see the description field is a part of the related table("VWEPICORCATEGORY") and the order by is targeted at LKTYPE. I am trying to figure out how exactly one goes about sorting that particular field or maybe even a better way to implement this grid using multiple tables and it's sorting functionality. Thanks in advance, Billy

  • Windows Phone 7 ListBox uncustomizable?

    - by Roy
    I've just recently started development using Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone and I put in a ListBox. I can't seem to manipulate the formatting. No matter what I do, the background is black/gray, the selected items have a blue border, and there is padding between the items in the listbox (i'm using images). Here is my code: Xaml: <Grid x:Name="ContentGrid" Grid.Row="1"> <Grid Name="gallery"> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="370" /> <RowDefinition Height="150" /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Border BorderBrush="Red" Width="450" CornerRadius="4" BorderThickness="2" Background="Red" Margin="10,30,20,10" Padding="6,6,6,6"> <Image Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="0" Height="360" x:Name="imgPreview"/> </Border> <ListBox x:Name="lbScrollGallery" Grid.Row="1" Grid.Column="0" Padding="0" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="450" SelectionChanged="ScrollerSelectionChanged" d:LayoutOverrides="HorizontalAlignment" ScrollViewer.HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Hidden"> <ListBox.ItemsPanel> <ItemsPanelTemplate> <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"/> </ItemsPanelTemplate> </ListBox.ItemsPanel> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Image Width="100" Height="100" Stretch="Fill" Name="imgSource" VerticalAlignment="Center" Source="{Binding Path=Url}" /> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> </Grid> </Grid> Is there some way I can customize the listbox? Like change the background to red or make the padding between different items 0?

  • Dynamically adding radio buttons using JQUERY and then hooking up the jquery change event to the gen

    - by Barry
    i am adding collection of radio buttons to my page using jquery below $(document).ready(function() { $("#Search").click(function() { var keyword = $('#keyWord').val(); var EntityType = $("#lstEntityTypes :selected").text(); var postData = { type: EntityType, keyWord: keyword }; // alert(postData.VehicleType); $.post('/EntityLink/GetJsonEntitySearchResults', postData, function(GRdata) { var grid = '<table><tr><td>ID</td><td>Name</td><td></td>'; for (var i = 0; i < GRdata.length; i++) { grid += '<tr><td>'; grid += GRdata[i].ID; grid += '</td><td>'; grid += GRdata[i].EntityName; grid += '</td><td>'; grid += '<input type="radio" name="EntitiesRadio" value="' + GRdata[i].ID + '" />'; grid += '</td></tr>'; } grid += '</table>'; alert(grid); $("#EntitySearchResults").html(grid); $("EntitiesRadio").change(function() { alert($("EntitiesRadio :checked").val()); $("EntityID").val($("EntitiesRadio :checked").val()); alert($("EntityID").val()); $("EntityName").val($("#lstEntityTypes :selected").text()); }); }); }); // }); so when page loads there is not EntitiesRadio name range, so i tried to register the entitiesRadio change function inside the same search click method but it isnt registering. how do i get the change event to fire to update my hidden inputs

    I'm trying to build grid with build in column filtering (using sencha gxt), here is my code: public Grid<Stock> createGrid() { // Columns definition ColumnConfig<Stock, String> nameCol = new ColumnConfig<Stock, String>(props.name(), 100, "Company"); // Column model definition and creation List<ColumnConfig<Stock, ?>> cl = new ArrayList<ColumnConfig<Stock, ?>>(); cl.add(nameCol); ColumnModel<Stock> cm = new ColumnModel<Stock>(cl); // Data populating ListStore<Stock> store = new ListStore<Stock>(props.key()); store.addAll(TestData.getStocks()); // Grid creation with data final Grid<Stock> grid = new Grid<Stock>(store, cm); grid.getView().setAutoExpandColumn(nameCol); grid.setBorders(false); grid.getView().setStripeRows(true); grid.getView().setColumnLines(true); // Filters definition StoreFilterField<Stock> filter = new StoreFilterField<Stock>() { @Override protected boolean doSelect(Store<Stock> store, Stock parent, Stock item, String filter) { // Window.alert(String.valueOf("a")); String name = item.getName(); name = name.toLowerCase(); if (name.startsWith(filter.toLowerCase())) { return true; } return false; } }; filter.bind(store); cm.addHeaderGroup(0, 0, new HeaderGroupConfig(filter, 1, 1)); filter.focus(); return grid; } My problem is: after I run this code, I cannot write anything to filter input, I'm using test data and classes (Stock.java and StockProperties.java) from this example: http://sencha.com/examples-dev/#ExamplePlace:filtergrid I try to put allert in doSelect method to check if this function was called, but it wasn't. Any idea will be welcome. Thanks.

  • If I prefer semantic naming then shouldn't i use any CSS Framework and grid approach?

    - by metal-gear-solid
    If I prefer semantic naming then shouldn't i use any CSS Framework and grid approach? Which approach is better Grid or Freehand? Is any CSS Frameworks really can save time and make semantic code even for Experienced CSS developer? Many CSS Frameworksd are popular in SIMPLE PSD 2 XHTML CSS and in wordpress/drupal/joomla theme development. Can we make CSS XHTML development as faster as with CSS frameworks but without using CSS Grid Frameworks? What makes development with CSS frameworks faster which we can't do without frameworks?

  • updating/refereshing dojo datagrid with new store value on combobox value changes

    - by Raj
    hey all, I have a combo box and a datagrid in my page. when the user changes the combo box value i have to update the grid with children details of newly selected parent. How can I achieve this using Dojo combo box and datagrid. the following code snippet not working for me. when I use setStore method on the grid with new json data. <div dojoType="dojo.data.ItemFileReadStore" jsId="store" url="/child/index/"></div> // grid store <div dojoType="dojo.data.ItemFileReadStore" jsId="parentStore" url="/parent/index/"></div> // combo box store //combo box <input dojoType="dijit.form.ComboBox" value="Select" width="auto" store="parentStore" searchAttr="name" name="parent" id="parent" onchange="displayChildren()"> //MY GRID <table dojoType="dojox.grid.DataGrid" jsId="grid" store="store" id="display_grid" query="{ child_id: '*' }" rowsPerPage="2" clientSort="true" singleClickEdit="false" style="width: 90%; height: 400px;" rowSelector="20px" selectionMode="multiple"> <thead> <tr> <th field="child_id" name="ID" width="auto" editable="false" hidden="true">Text</th> <th field="parent_id" name="Parent" width="auto" editable="false" hidden="true">Text</th> <th field="child_name" name="child" width="300px" editable="false">Text</th> <th field="created" name="Created Date" width="200px" editable="false" cellType='dojox.grid.cells.DateTextBox' datePattern='dd-MMM-yyyy'></th> <th field="last_updated" name="Updated Date" width="200px" editable="false" cellType='dojox.grid.cells.DateTextBox' datePattern='dd-MMM-yyyy'></th> <th field="child_id" name="Edit/Update" formatter="fmtEdit"></th> </tr> </thead> </table> //onchange method of parent combo box in which i am trying to reload the grid with new data from the server. function displayChildren() { var selected = dijit.byId("parent").attr("value"); var grid = dojo.byId('display_grid'); var Url = "/childsku/index/parent/" + selected; grid.setStore(new dojo.data.ItemFileReadStore({ url: Url })); } But its not updating my grid with new contents. I don know how to refresh the grid every time users changes the combo box value. Could anyone help me to solve this issue... I would be glad if I get the solution for both ItemFileReadStore and ItemFileWrireStore. Thanks Raj..

  • WPF storyboard animation issue when using VisualBrush

    - by Flack
    Hey guys, I was playing around with storyboards, a flipping animation, and visual brushes. I have encountered an issue though. Below is the xaml and code-behind of a small sample I quickly put together to try to demonstrate the problem. When you first start the app, you are presented with a red square and two buttons. If you click the "Flip" button, the red square will "flip" over and a blue one will appear. In reality, all that is happening is that the scale of the width of the StackPanel that the red square is in is being decreased until it reaches zero and then the StackPanel where a blue square is, whose width is initially scaled to zero, has its width increased. If you click the "Flip" button a few times, the animation looks ok and smooth. Now, if you hit the "Reflection" button, a reflection of the red/blue buttons is added to their respective StackPanels. Hitting the "Flip" button now will still cause the flip animation but it is no longer a smooth animation. The StackPanels width often does not shrink to zero. The width shrinks somewhat but then just stops before being completely invisible. Then the other StackPanel appears as usual. The only thing that changed was adding the reflection, which is just a VisualBrush. Below is the code. Does anyone have any idea why the animations are different between the two cases (stalling in the second case)? Thanks. <Window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xml:lang="en-US" xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2006" xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" mc:Ignorable="d" x:Class="WpfFlipTest.Window1" x:Name="Window" Title="Window1" Width="214" Height="224"> <Window.Resources> <Storyboard x:Key="sbFlip"> <DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames BeginTime="00:00:00" Storyboard.TargetName="redStack" Storyboard.TargetProperty="(UIElement.RenderTransform).(ScaleTransform.ScaleX)"> <SplineDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00.4" Value="0"/> </DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames> <DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames BeginTime="00:00:00.4" Storyboard.TargetName="blueStack" Storyboard.TargetProperty="(UIElement.RenderTransform).(ScaleTransform.ScaleX)"> <SplineDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00.8" Value="1"/> </DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames> </Storyboard> <Storyboard x:Key="sbFlipBack"> <DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames BeginTime="00:00:00" Storyboard.TargetName="blueStack" Storyboard.TargetProperty="(UIElement.RenderTransform).(ScaleTransform.ScaleX)"> <SplineDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00.4" Value="0"/> </DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames> <DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames BeginTime="00:00:00.4" Storyboard.TargetName="redStack" Storyboard.TargetProperty="(UIElement.RenderTransform).(ScaleTransform.ScaleX)"> <SplineDoubleKeyFrame KeyTime="00:00:00.8" Value="1"/> </DoubleAnimationUsingKeyFrames> </Storyboard> </Window.Resources> <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot" Background="Gray"> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <StackPanel Name="redStack" Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="0" RenderTransformOrigin="0.5,0.5"> <StackPanel.RenderTransform> <ScaleTransform/> </StackPanel.RenderTransform> <Border Name="redBorder" BorderBrush="Transparent" BorderThickness="4" Width="Auto" Height="Auto"> <Button Margin="0" Name="redButton" Height="75" Background="Red" Width="105" /> </Border> <Border Width="{Binding ElementName=redBorder, Path=ActualWidth}" Height="{Binding ElementName=redBorder, Path=ActualHeight}" Opacity="0.2" BorderBrush="Transparent" BorderThickness="4" Name="redRefelction" Visibility="Collapsed"> <Border.OpacityMask> <LinearGradientBrush StartPoint="0,0" EndPoint="0,1"> <LinearGradientBrush.GradientStops> <GradientStop Offset="0" Color="Black"/> <GradientStop Offset=".6" Color="Transparent"/> </LinearGradientBrush.GradientStops> </LinearGradientBrush> </Border.OpacityMask> <Border.Background> <VisualBrush Visual="{Binding ElementName=redButton}"> <VisualBrush.Transform> <ScaleTransform ScaleX="1" ScaleY="-1" CenterX="52.5" CenterY="37.5" /> </VisualBrush.Transform> </VisualBrush> </Border.Background> </Border> </StackPanel> <StackPanel Name="blueStack" Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="0" RenderTransformOrigin="0.5,0.5"> <StackPanel.RenderTransform> <ScaleTransform ScaleX="0"/> </StackPanel.RenderTransform> <Border Name="blueBorder" BorderBrush="Transparent" BorderThickness="4" Width="Auto" Height="Auto"> <Button Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="1" Margin="0" Width="105" Background="Blue" Name="blueButton" Height="75"/> </Border> <Border Width="{Binding ElementName=blueBorder, Path=ActualWidth}" Height="{Binding ElementName=blueBorder, Path=ActualHeight}" Opacity="0.2" BorderBrush="Transparent" BorderThickness="4" Name="blueRefelction" Visibility="Collapsed"> <Border.OpacityMask> <LinearGradientBrush StartPoint="0,0" EndPoint="0,1"> <LinearGradientBrush.GradientStops> <GradientStop Offset="0" Color="Black"/> <GradientStop Offset=".6" Color="Transparent"/> </LinearGradientBrush.GradientStops> </LinearGradientBrush> </Border.OpacityMask> <Border.Background> <VisualBrush Visual="{Binding ElementName=blueButton}"> <VisualBrush.Transform> <ScaleTransform ScaleX="1" ScaleY="-1" CenterX="52.5" CenterY="37.5" /> </VisualBrush.Transform> </VisualBrush> </Border.Background> </Border> </StackPanel> <Button Grid.Row="1" Click="FlipButton_Click" Height="19.45" HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="76">Flip</Button> <Button Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="1" Click="ReflectionButton_Click" Height="19.45" HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="76">Reflection</Button> </Grid> </Window> Here are the button click handlers: using System; if (flipped) { sbFlipBack.Begin(); flipped = false; } else { sbFlip.Begin(); flipped = true; } } bool reflection = false; private void ReflectionButton_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { if (reflection) { reflection = false; redRefelction.Visibility = Visibility.Collapsed; blueRefelction.Visibility = Visibility.Collapsed; } else { reflection = true; redRefelction.Visibility = Visibility.Visible; blueRefelction.Visibility = Visibility.Visible; } } } } UPDATE: I have been testing this some more to try to find out what is causing the issue I am seeing and I believe I found what is causing the issue. Below I have pasted new xaml and code-behind. The new sample below is very similar to the original sample, with a few minor modifications. The xaml basically consists of two stack panels, each containing two borders. The second border in each stack panel is a visual brush (a reflection of the border above it). Now, when I click the "Flip" button, one stack panel gets its ScaleX reduced to zero, while the second stack panel, whose initial ScaleX is zero, gets its ScaleX increased to 1. This animation gives the illusion of flipping. There are also two textblocks which display the scale factor of each stack panel. I added those to try to diagnose my issue. The issue is (as described in the oringal post) that the flipping animation is not smooth. Every time I hit the flip button, the animation starts but whenever the ScaleX factor gets to around .14 to .16, the animation looks like it stalls and the stack panels never have there ScaleX reduced to zero, so they never totally disappear. Now, the strange thing is that if I change the Width/Height properties of the "frontBorder" and "backBorder" borders defined below to use explict values instead of Auto, such as Width=105 and Height=75 (to match the button in the border) everything works fine. The animation stutters the first two or three times I run it but after that the flips are smooth and flawless. (BTW, when an animation is run for the first time, is there something going on in the background, some sort of initialization, that causes it to be a little slow the first time?) Is it possible that the Auto Width/Height of the borders are causing the issue? I can reproduce it everytime but I am not sure why Auto Width/Height would be a problem. Below is the sample. • How to bind a WPF CustomControl to a ListBox

    - by VivyG
    I've just started to learn WPF this week so please accept my apologies if I am being stupid or missing fundamental points! Iam trying to build a very simple Contact browser. I have a Collection of Contact objects that displayed in a ListBox control which shows the FullName of the Contact and to the right I have a customControl called BasicContactCard. This is the XAML for the ContacWindow that displays the ListBox: <DockPanel Width="auto" Height="auto" Margin="8 8 8 8"> <Border Height="56" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Top" BorderThickness="1" CornerRadius="8" DockPanel.Dock="Top" Background="Beige"> <TextBox Height="32" Margin="23,5,135,5" Text="Search for contact here" FontStyle="Italic" Foreground="#FFAD9595" FontSize="14" BorderBrush="LightGray"/> </Border> <ListBox x:Name="contactList" DockPanel.Dock="Left" Width="192" Height="auto" Margin="5 4 0 8" /> <Grid> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="1*" /> <RowDefinition Height="0.125*" /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <local:BasicContactCard Margin="8 8 8 8" /> <Button Grid.Row="1" x:Name="exit" Content="Exit" HorizontalAlignment="Right" Width="50" Height="25" Click="exit_Click" /> </Grid> </DockPanel> and this is the XAML for the CustomControl: <DockPanel Width="auto " Height="auto" Margin="8,8,8,8"> <Grid Width="auto" Height="auto" DockPanel.Dock="Top"> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="1*" /> <RowDefinition Height="1*" /> <RowDefinition Height="1*" /> <RowDefinition Height="1*" /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <TextBlock x:Name="companyField" Grid.Row="0" Width="auto" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Margin="8,8,8,8" Text="Company"/> <TextBlock x:Name="contactField" Grid.Row="1" Width="auto" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Margin="8,8,8,8" Text="Contact"/> <TextBlock x:Name="phoneField" Grid.Row="2" Width="auto" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Margin="8,8,8,8" Text="Phone"/> <TextBlock x:Name="emailField" Grid.Row="3" Width="auto" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Margin="8,8,8,8" Text="email"/> </Grid> </DockPanel> The problem I have is how do I bind the individual elements of the CustomControl to the object behind the SelectedItem in the ListBox?

  • Stretch panel with splitter

    - by user1153896
    I want to implement a basic WPF layout with three panels and two splitters (Horizontal and Vertical splitter). Two panels on the left and on the bottom has to be callapsable and one panel has to stretch accordingly. Here is a simple XAML: <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="*"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="5"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="*"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <StackPanel Background="Aqua" Grid.Column="0" Name="leftPanel" > <TextBlock FontSize="35" Foreground="#58290A" TextWrapping="Wrap">Left Hand Side</TextBlock> </StackPanel> <GridSplitter Grid.Column="1" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"/> <Grid Grid.Column="2" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch"> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="*" /> <RowDefinition Height="5" /> <RowDefinition Height="*" /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <StackPanel HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch"> <Label Content="... Clien Area .. Has to Stretch vertically and horizontally" Margin="10"></Label> <Button Click="LeftButton_Click" Margin="10">Close Left Panel</Button> <Button Click="BottomButton_Click" Margin="10">Close Bottom Panel</Button> </StackPanel> <GridSplitter Grid.Row="1" Background="Gray" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"/> <ListBox Grid.Row="2" Background="Violet" Name="bottomPanel"> <ListBoxItem>Hello</ListBoxItem> <ListBoxItem>World</ListBoxItem> </ListBox> </Grid> </Grid> and codebehind: private void LeftButton_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { leftPanel.Visibility = (leftPanel.Visibility == System.Windows.Visibility.Visible)? System.Windows.Visibility.Collapsed : System.Windows.Visibility.Visible; } private void BottomButton_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { bottomPanel.Visibility = (bottomPanel.Visibility == System.Windows.Visibility.Visible) ? System.Windows.Visibility.Collapsed : System.Windows.Visibility.Visible; } This code doesn't work as expected :(. Any WPF experts around? to suggest a solution for having Client Area (stretched) and splitter at the same time? DockPanel will work perfectly, but I need splitter! Thanks.

  • DataTrigger inside ControlTemplate doesn't update

    - by kennethkryger
    I have a ListBox that is bound to a list of CustomerViewModel-objects, that each has two dependency properties: - Name (string) - Description (string) - IsVisible (bool) (the IsVisible property is True by default and is reversed via the ToggleVisibility Command on the CustomerViewModel) I would like to display the Name and Description to the right of a Border-control, that is has a Transparent background when the IsVisible property is True and Green when the False. My problem is that the DataTrigger part of the code below doesn't work the way I want, because the Setter-part isn't triggered when the IsVisible is changed. What am I doing wrong? Here's my code: <UserControl.Resources> <Style x:Key="ListBoxStyle" TargetType="{x:Type ListBox}"> <Setter Property="Margin" Value="-1,-1,0,0" /> <Setter Property="BorderThickness" Value="0" /> <Setter Property="Background" Value="Transparent" /> <Setter Property="ItemContainerStyle" Value="{DynamicResource ListboxItemStyle}" /> <Setter Property="ScrollViewer.HorizontalScrollBarVisibility" Value="Disabled" /> </Style> <Style x:Key="ListboxItemStyle" TargetType="{x:Type ListBoxItem}"> <Setter Property="Background" Value="Transparent" /> <Setter Property="FocusVisualStyle" Value="{x:Null}" /> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type ListBoxItem}"> <Grid> <Border x:Name="border" Background="{TemplateBinding Background}" BorderBrush="#FFD4D6D5" BorderThickness="0,0,0,1"> <Grid Height="70" Margin="0,0,10,0"> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="10" /> <RowDefinition Height="Auto" /> <RowDefinition /> <RowDefinition Height="10" /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto" /> <ColumnDefinition /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Border x:Name="visibilityColumn" Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="0" Grid.RowSpan="4" Background="Transparent" Width="4" Margin="0,0,4,0" /> <TextBlock x:Name="customerName" Grid.Row="1" Grid.Column="1" Foreground="#FF191919" FontWeight="Bold" Text="{Binding Name}" VerticalAlignment="Top" /> <TextBlock Grid.Row="2" Grid.Column="1" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Text="{Binding Description}" TextWrapping="Wrap" Foreground="#FFB4B4B4" TextTrimming="CharacterEllipsis" /> </Grid> <Border.ContextMenu> <ContextMenu> <MenuItem Header="Edit..." /> <MenuItem Header="Visible" IsCheckable="True" IsChecked="{Binding IsVisible}" Command="{Binding ToggleVisibility}"/> </ContextMenu> </Border.ContextMenu> </Border> </Grid> <ControlTemplate.Triggers> <Trigger Property="IsMouseOver" Value="True"> <Setter Property="Background" Value="#FFEEEEEE" /> </Trigger> <Trigger Property="IsSelected" Value="True"> <Setter Property="Background" Value="#FFF5F5F5" /> <Setter TargetName="customerName" Property="Foreground" Value="Green" /> </Trigger> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding IsVisible}" Value="False"> <!--If Value="True" the customerName Border shows up green!--> <Setter Property="Background" Value="Green" /> </DataTrigger> </ControlTemplate.Triggers> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> </UserControl.Resources> <ListBox Style="{StaticResource ListBoxStyle}" ItemsSource="{Binding CustomerViewModels}" />

  • WPF Databinding- Part 2 of 3

    - by Shervin Shakibi
    This is a follow up to my previous post WPF Databinding- Not your fathers databinding Part 1-3 you can download the source code here  http://ssccinc.com/wpfdatabinding.zip Example 04   In this example we demonstrate  the use of default properties and also binding to an instant of an object which is part of a collection bound to its container. this is actually not as complicated as it sounds. First of all, lets take a look at our Employee class notice we have overridden the ToString method, which will return employees First name , last name and employee number in parentheses, public override string ToString()        {            return String.Format("{0} {1} ({2})", FirstName, LastName, EmployeeNumber);        }   in our XAML we have set the itemsource of the list box to just  “Binding” and the Grid that contains it, has its DataContext set to a collection of our Employee objects. DataContext="{StaticResource myEmployeeList}"> ….. <ListBox Name="employeeListBox"  ItemsSource="{Binding }" Grid.Row="0" /> the ToString in the method for each instance will get executed and the following is a result of it. if we did not have a ToString the list box would look  like this: now lets take a look at the grid that will display the details when someone clicks on an Item, the Grid has the following DataContext DataContext="{Binding ElementName=employeeListBox,            Path=SelectedItem}"> Which means its bound to a specific instance of the Employee object. and within the gird we have textboxes that are bound to different Properties of our class. <TextBox Grid.Row="0" Grid.Column="1" Text="{Binding Path=FirstName}" /> <TextBox Grid.Row="1" Grid.Column="1" Text="{Binding Path=LastName}" /> <TextBox Grid.Row="2" Grid.Column="1" Text="{Binding Path=Title}" /> <TextBox Grid.Row="3" Grid.Column="1" Text="{Binding Path=Department}" />   Example 05   This project demonstrates use of the ObservableCollection and INotifyPropertyChanged interface. Lets take a look at Employee.cs first, notice it implements the INotifyPropertyChanged interface now scroll down and notice for each setter there is a call to the OnPropertyChanged method, which basically will will fire up the event notifying to the value of that specific property has been changed. Next EmployeeList.cs notice it is an ObservableCollection . Go ahead and set the start up project to example 05 and then run. Click on Add a new employee and the new employee should appear in the list box.   Example 06   This is a great example of IValueConverter its actuall a two for one deal, like most of my presentation demos I found this by “Binging” ( formerly known as g---ing) unfortunately now I can’t find the original author to give him  the credit he/she deserves. Before we look at the code lets run the app and look at the finished product, put in 0 in Celsius  and you should see Fahrenheit textbox displaying to 32 degrees, I know this is calculating correctly from my elementary school science class , also note the color changed to blue, now put in 100 in Celsius which should give us 212 Fahrenheit but now the color is red indicating it is hot, and finally put in 75 Fahrenheit and you should see 23.88 for Celsius and the color now should be black. Basically IValueConverter allows us different types to be bound, I’m sure you have had problems in the past trying to bind to Date values . First look at FahrenheitToCelciusConverter.cs first notice it implements IValueConverter. IValueConverter has two methods Convert and ConvertBack. In each method we have the code for converting Fahrenheit to Celsius and vice Versa. In our XAML, after we set a reference in our Windows.Resources section. and for txtCelsius we set the path to TxtFahrenheit and the converter to an instance our FahrenheitToCelciusConverter converter. no need to repeat this for TxtFahrenheit since we have a convert and ConvertBack. Text="{Binding  UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged,            Path=Text,ElementName=txtFahrenheit,            Converter={StaticResource myTemperatureConverter}}" As mentioned earlier this is a twofer Demo, in the second demo, we basically are converting a double datatype to a brush. Lets take a look at TemperatureToColorConverter, notice we in our Covert Method, if the value is less than our cold temperature threshold we return a blue brush and if it is higher than our hot temperature threshold we return a redbrush. since we don’t have to convert a brush to double value in our example the convert back is not being implemented. Take time and go through these three examples and I hope you have a better understanding   of databinding, ObservableCollection  and IValueConverter . Next blog posting we will talk about ValidationRule, DataTemplates and DataTemplate triggers.

  • WPF items not visible when grouping is applied

    - by Tri Q
    Hi, I'm having this strange issue with my ItemsControl grouping. I have the following setup: <ItemsControl Margin="3" ItemsSource="{Binding Communications.View}" > <ItemsControl.GroupStyle> <GroupStyle> <GroupStyle.ContainerStyle> <Style TargetType="{x:Type GroupItem}"> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="{x:Type GroupItem}"> <Expander> <Expander.Header> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions > <ColumnDefinition Width="*" /> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto" /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <TextBlock Text="{Binding ItemCount, StringFormat='{}[{0}] '}" FontWeight="Bold" /> <TextBlock Grid.Column="1" Text="{Binding Name, Converter={StaticResource GroupingFormatter}, StringFormat='{}Subject: {0}'}" FontWeight="Bold" /> </Grid> </Expander.Header> <ItemsPresenter /> </Expander> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </Style> </GroupStyle.ContainerStyle> </GroupStyle> </ItemsControl.GroupStyle> <ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto" /> <ColumnDefinition Width="*" /> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto" /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition /> <RowDefinition /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <TextBlock FontWeight="Bold" Text="{Binding Inspector, Converter={StaticResource NameFormatter}, StringFormat='{}From {0}:'}" Margin="3" /> <TextBlock Text="{Binding SentDate, StringFormat='{}{0:dd/MM/yy}'}" Grid.Row="1" Margin="3"/> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Message }" Grid.Column="1" Grid.RowSpan="2" Margin="3"/> <Button Command="vm:CommunicationViewModel.DeleteMessageCommand" CommandParameter="{Binding}" HorizontalAlignment="Right" Grid.Column="2">Delete</Button> </Grid> </DataTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> </ItemsControl> In my ViewModel, I expose a CollectionViewSource named 'Communications'. I proceed to adding a grouping patter like so: Communications.GroupDescriptions.Add(new PropertyGroupDescription("Subject")); Now, the problem i'm experience is the grouping work fine, but I can't see any items inside the groups. What am I doing wrong? Any pointers would be much appreciated.

  • Why isn't my div scrolling horizontally when adding multiple images?

    - by George
    I have an outer div, and inside of that, I have an inner div which contains a list of images. When the images are wider than the outer div, I want to have it scroll horizontally, but instead, it just puts the image on the next line instead of expanding. If I add many rows, the div does scroll vertically, but horizontally, it doesn't do it. This happens on every browser I've tried - Firefox, Chrome, IE, and Safari. Here is the css: #grid-container { left:33px; position:relative; width:300px; } #grid { width:310px; height:400px; overflow:auto; margin-bottom: 15px; } #grid-container ul { width:305px; } #grid-container li { float:left; list-style-type:none; padding:5px 15px 5px 15px; height:88px; text-align:center; } .image-row { float:left; margin-left: 10px; } .grid-image { height:50px; margin-left:-20px; } Here is the html: <div id="grid-container"> <div id="grid"> <div id="row1" class="image-row"> <ul> <li> <img id="img1" class="grid-image" src="images/img1.jpg"> </li> <li> <img id="img2" class="grid-image" src="images/img2.jpg"> </li> <li> <img id="img3" class="grid-image" src="images/img3.jpg"> </li> <li> <img id="img4" class="grid-image" src="images/img4.jpg"> </li> </ul> </div> <div id="row1" class="image-row"> <ul> <li> <img id="img5" class="grid-image" src="images/img5.jpg"> </li> <li> <img id="img6" class="grid-image" src="images/img6.jpg"> </li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> The problem is img4 is showing on the second row (with img5 and img5 on the third row), even though it should on the first row and the grid div should scroll horizontally. It does scroll vertically. Can I force the div to expand? If I remove the width from the grid div, I do get the horizontal scroll bar, but the image is still on the second row.

  • Is there a way to handle the dynamic change of a dropdown for a single row in a grid-based datawindo

    - by TomatoSandwich
    Is there a way to handle the dynamic change of a dropdown for a single row in a grid-based datawindow? Example: NAME LIKABILITY PURCHASED IN COLOUR (Text) (DropDown*) (Text) (Text) Bananas [Good] Hands Yellow [Bad] [Bananas are good] Apples [Good] Bags Red [Bad] Given the above is a grid-based datawindow, where the fields 'NAME','PURCHASED IN' and 'COLOUR' are text fields, where as the 'LIKABILITY' field is a dropdown*. I say dropdown* because the same visual representation can be created by using a DropDownList (hardcoded within the datawindow element at design time), or a DropDownDW (or DDDW, a select statement that can be based on other elements in the datawindow). However, there is no way I can get 'Bananas' having it's 3 dropdowns, while Apples has only 2. If I enter multiple rows of 'Bananas', then all rows have 3 dropdowns, but as soon as I add an Apples row, all dropdowns revert to 2 selections. To attempt to achieve this functionality, I have tried the following options: -- 1) dw_1.Object.likability.values("Good~tG/Bad~tB/Bananas are good~tDRWHO") on ue_itemchange when editing NAME. FAILS: edits all instances of LIKABILITY instead of the current row. -- 2) Duplicate Dropdowns, having one filtered, one unfiltered selection list per row, visible based on NAME selection. FAILS: can't set visibility/overlapping columns on grid-based datawindow. (Source) -- 3) Hard-code display value as Database value, or Vice Versa. Have 'GOOD','BAD','BANANASAREGOOD' as the display and database values, and change handling of options from G, B, DRWHO to these new values. FAILS: 3rd option appears for all rows, still selectable on Apple rows, which is wrong. -- 4) DDDW retrieve list of options for dropdown. Create a DDDW that uses the value of NAME to determine what selections it should have for the dropdown. FAILS: edits all instances of the dropdown, not just the current row. -- 5) DDDW retrieve counter of options available (if B then 3 else 2), then have duplicate dropdown columns that protect/unprotect based on DDDW counter. FAILS: Can't autoselect dddw value to populate column to cause protect on other two columns, ugly solution in any case. -- There is now a bounty on this question for anyone who can give me a solution that will enable me to edit a dropdown column for a single row on a grid-based datawindow in PB 10.5
