  • ASP.NET access files on another computer shared folder

    Hello, I have ASP.NET project which do some file access and manipulation, the methods which I use for file access are below. Now I need to access files on another server shared folder, how to do that? I easily can change file path to shared folder path but I get "can't access" error because shares are password protected. As I understand I need somehow to send credentials to remote server before executing methods below. How to do that?   • remote debug unmanaged code

    Hi. I have a process that contains C# code, C++\CLI code and native c++ code. Now, I'm trying to remote debug my process, and I can go to the statements of my C# code and my C++\CLI code, but I can't reach my native code. When I try to hit a breakpoint in my native c++ source file, I get the "No symbole have been loaded" error. I tried to manualy load the symboles (tools-options-debugging), but no luck. Any Idea?

  • advice on working on remote asp.net applications

    Hi folks, I'm a (relatively new) developer using asp.net with VB.NET. Currently all my applications are developed on my PC and then are built and moved onto the web server. I'm going to be working remotely for 3 months in which time I'll be connecting to the company network via VPN. What is the best way to access my projects? I need to have the projects stored on the company network so that others can access them too. So simply copying the projects to my laptop, working on them, then copying them back won't suffice. I tried to just open the projects off of the network share but am getting application trust problems. I'm just wondering what other developers do in this situation? Jonesy

    When I use remote desktop to access my windows 2008 server from windows vista I cannot re size or drag any windows in the RDP session. I can RDP in and maximize windows and minimize just fine buy I cannot re size or move a window. Any help I cannot find anything on Google.

    Hi all, I want to run & control a process remotely, I found the best way is the WMI APIs, The WMI gives me information about the remote process but I need more control like waiting it and getting the standard output and errors, how can I do that, and can I get an instance of System.Diagnostics.Process class by instance ID remotely? note: I tried to get an instance of the Process by Process.GetProcessByPID and passign machineName parameter, but and Exception has thrown.     Hello, We have a Learning Management System (LMS) that runs on its own server (IIS/Server 2003). Students must login with Forms authentication to gain access to the content. We want to offer access to third party flash and audio that is embedded in HTML pages hosted on the third party server (IIS/Server 2003). Currently we use a frame in a pop-up window that is populated via a simple URL to the third party HTML pages. How can the third party control access to their content, so that only students who launch the pop-up windows from our site can access their content? Since the content is mostly video and flash, we would prefer not to stream all of their content through our server to the Student. We have a programming staff, so we could maybe... - either post or get for our HTTP request to the third party server - we could use SSL - we could programmatically assign a global NT user account to all of our users and then do some kind of Active Directory login from the LMS server to the third party server - could the third party content be hosted at Amazon S3? Would this allow for secure access/download? These are just ideas. We really have no idea. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA, Wylie

However when I enter http://217.164.79.62/ into my browser I get the following message: The server 217.164.79.62:80 requires a username and password.
