    Can anyone tell me what this means in ESXi 5.1?: SATP VMW_SATP_LOCAL does not support device configuration I've googled it and I get a lot of results, but as yet all the pages that contain the string are discussing other matters.   • Java Thread Management and Application Flow

    I have a Java application that downloads information (Entities) from our server. I use a Download thread to download the data. The flow of the download process is as follows: Log in - The user entity is downloaded Based on the User Entity, download a 'Community' entities List and Display in drop down Based on Community drop down selection, Download and show 'Org Tree' in a JTree Based on Node selection, download Category entities and display in drop down Based on Category selection, download Sub Category entities and display in drop down Based on Sub Category selection download a large data set and save it The download occurs in a thread so the GUI does not 'freeze'. It also allows me to update a Progress Bar. I need help with managing this process. The main problem is when I download entity data I have to find a way to wait for the thread to finish before attempting to get the entity and move to the next step in the app flow. So far I have used a modal dialog to control flow. I start the thread, pop up a modal and then dispose of the modal when the thread is finished. The modal/thread are Observer/Observable the thread does a set changed when it is finished and the dialog disposes. Displaying a modal effectively stops the flow of the application so it can wait for the download to finish. I also tried just moving all the work flow to Observers. All relevant GUI in the process are Observers. Each update method waits for the download to finish and then calls the next piece of GUI which does its own downloading. So far I found these two methods produce code that is hard to follow. I would like to 'centralize' this work flow so other developers are not pulling out their hair when they try to follow it. My Question is: Do you have any suggestions/examples where a work flow such as this can be managed in a way that produces code that is easy to follow? I know 'easy' is a relative term and I know my both my options already work but I would like to get some ideas from other coders while I still have time to change it. Thank you very much.

    I have a situation where I need to, when in Radgrid Edit Mode and user makes a selection on a contained dropdownlist, display a modalPopup containing a Checkboxlist populated with data that relates to dropdownlist selection. When Selections are made on the checkboxlist, and OK button clicked, I want to return to the RadGrid Edit template, and populate a textbox in the template with the checkbox selected information. Anyone have a clear idea of how I ought to handle this. An example will be greatly appreciated please.

  • Need to add totals of select list, and subtract if taken away

    This is the code I am using to calculate the sum of two values (example below) http://www.healthybrighton.co.uk/wse/node/1841 This works to a degree. It will add the two together but only if #edit-submitted-test is selected first, and even then it will show NaN until I select #edit-submitted-test-1. I want it to calculate the sum of the fields and show the amount live, i.e. the value of edit-submitted-test-1 will show 500, then if i select another field it will update to 1000. If i take one selection away it will then subtract it and will be back to 500. Any ideas would be helpful thanks! If i then change the selection and the accomodation updates to £300, the total cost updates to the previous selection of £900.     Hey Everyone, I am trying to implement a ListView that is composed of rows that contain a View on the left followed by a TextView to the right of that. I want to be able to change the background color of the first View based on it's position in the ListView. When the user clicks on change, a dropdown box appears next to the change/submit button and the user makes a selection which then updates the db and the selection appears instead of the dropdown.     Hi, I have a listbox inside another list box, in inner list box listboxitems height may grow or shrink. My problem is that when the inner items shrink the outer list box doesn't re-render its height. Thus - stays with the previous height before the inner list shrinked. I have tried so many things here, among Invalidate of all types, selection and de-selection of the list box item that should be updated and more - nothing helps.... Can anyone pls help me with this?     Hi all, I have the following set-up: A Window that has a splitView in which I display I NSCollectionView in the left view and a detailView in the right view. Both views are set-up in separate xibs. Furthermore I have a Datacontroller (of class NSArrayController) that manages a mutable Array of NSMutableDictionaries (moviesForChoice). The dataController is set-up as application delegate. The movie objects in the array have properties like (name, plot, genre etc.) so far so good... In the xib for the NScollectionview I bound a NSArraycontroller content property to my datacontroller via Application.delegate.moviesForChoice The collectionView accesses the arraycontroller.arrrangedObjects and arraycontroller.selectionIndexes. This works fine the contents are displayed and the selection works fine in the collectionview (my collectionviewItem renders a selection color) In the xib for the detailView I want to display information for the selected object in the collectionview. Therefore I also added an arraycontroller to the xib, bound the content aray to Application.delegate.moviesForChoice and bound the NSTextfields in the view to e.g. arraycontroller.selection.name Here comes my issue: everytime I open the window with the two xibs, my collectionview displays all movies that are for choice correctly, and the detailview displays the information for the 1st object in my collectionview. Whenever I click on a different movie in the collectionView the res. item renders a selection color, but the detailView doesn't update. My understanding of it would be that the DataController is not informed about updates in the selectionIndexes and can therefore not trigger an update in the detailView. Correct me if I'm wrong... To remedy this I tried to bind the selectionIndexes property of the arraycontroller in the collectionView xib to Application.delegate.moviesForChoice.selecionIndexes but this failed with: addObserver:forKeyPath:options:context:] is not supported.
