  • jQuery to select where no children or first child is not image

    - by hacker
I'm trying to dynamically style some elements on my pages. So, if I had the following code: <a href="#"> Select Me </a> <a href="#"> <img src="blah.jpg" /> Don't select me </a> <a href="#"> <div>Don't select me either</div> <img src="blah.jpg" /> </a> <a href="#"> <div>You can select me too.</div> </a> I would like it to select the first and fourth tags. From what I could tell, by using: $("a:first-child") Won't select the first tag because it doesn't have any children (just text). The second tag should not get selected so something like: $("a:first-child").not("img) but that leaves out the first item. EDIT: If there is an IMG anywhere in the A element, don't select it.

  • The ORDER BY clause is invalid in views, inline functions, derived tables, subqueries, and common ta

    - by zurna
    I get "The ORDER BY clause is invalid in views, inline functions, derived tables, subqueries, and common table expressions, unless TOP or FOR XML is also specified." error with the following code. I initially had two tables, ADSAREAS & CATEGORIES. I started receiving this error when I removed CATEGORIES table. Select Case SIDX Case "ID" : SQLCONT1 = " AdsAreasID" Case "Page" : SQLCONT1 = " AdsAreasName" Case Else : SQLCONT1 = " AdsAreasID" End Select Select Case SORD Case "asc" : SQLCONT2 = " ASC" Case "desc" : SQLCONT2 = " DESC" Case Else : SQLCONT2 = " ASC" End Select ''# search feature ---> Select Case SEARCHFIELD Case "ID" : SQLSFIELD = "AND AdsAreasID" Case "Ads Areas" : SQLSFIELD = "AND AdsAreasName" Case Else : SQLSFIELD = "" End Select Select Case SEARCHOPER Case "eq" : SQLSOPER = " = " & SEARCHSTRING Case "ne" : SQLSOPER = " <> " & SEARCHSTRING Case "lt" : SQLSOPER = " <" & SEARCHSTRING Case "le" : SQLSOPER = " <= " & SEARCHSTRING Case "gt" : SQLSOPER = " >" & SEARCHSTRING Case "ge" : SQLSOPER = " >= " & SEARCHSTRING Case "bw" : SQLSOPER = " LIKE '" & SEARCHSTRING & "%' " Case "ew" : SQLSOPER = " LIKE '%" & SEARCHSTRING & "' " Case "cn" : SQLSOPER = " LIKE '%" & SEARCHSTRING & "%' " Case Else : SQLSOPER = "" End Select ''# search feature ---> SQL = "SELECT * FROM ( SELECT A.AdsAreasID, A.AdsAreasName, ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY A.AdsAreasID) As Row" SQL = SQL & " FROM ADSAREAS A" SQL = SQL & " WHERE Row > ("& RecordsPageSize - RecordsPerPage &") AND Row <= ("& RecordsPageSize &") ORDER BY" & SQLCONT1 & SQLCONT2 Set objXML = objConn.Execute(SQL)

  • need help passing multiple variables from foreach loop to test in switch case statement

    - by Brad
$list_of_groups = array("FACULTY","STAFF"); foreach ($list_of_groups as $i => $group) { $user_in_group = $adldap->user_ingroup($username,$group); print "<h2>Group: ".$group." user in group? ".$user_in_group."</h2>"; // if 1, means yes } Need to print run the appropriate function based on what returns true. There are user's that are members of both FACULTY and STAFF groups, so I want to check for those users and display the appropriate content for them. So if the user is both faculty and staff, then display this, if they are only of staff, display that, same for faculty, might not make sense, but I will write out some code "in theory" that will help you understand what I am trying to do switch(Get group membership of user) { case "FACULTY": print "Faculty group member"; break; case "STAFF": print "Staff group member"; break; case "FACULTY and STAFF": print "Member of both faculty and staff"; break; } I am unsure on how it will check if they are members of both groups and run that thru the case statement to display the appropriate message. The foreach look currently runs thru every group the user belongs to, prints out the ones from the $list_of_groups and the number 1 to the right of it, signifying they belong to it. The problem I have is trying to use that information to run thru the case statement, I am unsure of how to go about that. This is what it prints out for the user currently passed thru the foreach loop: Group: FACULTY user in group? 1 Group: STAFF user in group? 1 Any help is appreciated.

  • SQLite is the CASE statement expensive?

    - by galford13x
I'm wondering if using a CASE statement in SQLite (or other SQL engines) to replace data is not advised. For example lets say I have a query. SELECT Users, CASE WHEN Active = 0 THEN 'Inactive' WHEN Active = 1 THEN 'Active' WHEN Active = 2 THEN 'Processing' ELSE 'ERROR' AS Active FROM UsersTable; When is it better to create a reference table and perform a JOIN. In this case I would create a Table 'ActiveStatesTable' with ActiveID, ActiveDescription and perform the JOIN.

  • best practices - multiple functions vs single function with switch case

    - by Amit
I have a situation where I need to perform several small (but similar) tasks. I can think of two ways to achieve this. First Approach: function doTask1(); function doTask2(); function doTask3(); function doTask4(); Second Approach: // TASK1, TASK2, ... TASK4 are all constants function doTask(TASK) { switch(TASK) { case TASK1: // do task1 break; case TASK2: // do task2 break; case TASK3: // do task3 break; case TASK4: // do task4 break; } } A few more tasks may be added in future (though the chances are rare. but this cannot be ruled out) Please suggest which of the two approaches (or if any other) is a best practice in such a situation.

  • C++ Switch won't compile with externally defined variable used as case

    - by C Nielsen
I'm writing C++ using the MinGW GNU compiler and the problem occurs when I try to use an externally defined integer variable as a case in a switch statement. I get the following compiler error: "case label does not reduce to an integer constant". Because I've defined the integer variable as extern I believe that it should compile, does anyone know what the problem may be? Below is an example: test.cpp #include <iostream> #include "x_def.h" int main() { std::cout << "Main Entered" << std::endl; switch(0) { case test_int: std::cout << "Case X" << std::endl; break; default: std::cout << "Case Default" << std::endl; break; } return 0; } x_def.h extern const int test_int; x_def.cpp const int test_int = 0; This code will compile correctly on Visual C++ 2008. Furthermore a Montanan friend of mine checked the ISO C++ standard and it appears that any const-integer expression should work. Is this possibly a compiler bug or have I missed something obvious? Here's my compiler version information: Reading specs from C:/MinGW/bin/../lib/gcc/mingw32/3.4.5/specs Configured with: ../gcc-3.4.5-20060117-3/configure --with-gcc --with-gnu-ld --with-gnu-as --host=mingw32 --target=mingw32 --prefix=/mingw --enable-threads --disable-nls --enable-languages=c,c++,f77,ada,objc,java --disable-win32-registry --disable-shared --enable-sjlj-exceptions --enable-libgcj --disable-java-awt --without-x --enable-java-gc=boehm --disable-libgcj-debug --enable-interpreter --enable-hash-synchronization --enable-libstdcxx-debug Thread model: win32 gcc version 3.4.5 (mingw-vista special r3)

  • SQL Server INSERT ... SELECT Statement won't parse

    - by Jim Barnett
I am getting the following error message with SQL Server 2005 Msg 120, Level 15, State 1, Procedure usp_AttributeActivitiesForDateRange, Line 18 The select list for the INSERT statement contains fewer items than the insert list. The number of SELECT values must match the number of INSERT columns. I have copy and pasted the select list and insert list into excel and verified there are the same number of items in each list. Both tables an additional primary key field with is not listed in either the insert statement or select list. I am not sure if that is relevant, but suspicious it may be. • jquery changing select dropdown values

    - by user962449
    I'm trying to change a dropdown select menu with jqquery by selecting a certain option from a dropdown menu. Example: <select name="options"> <option value='3'>Option 3</option> <option value='5'>Option 4</option> <option value='7'>Option 5</option> </select> The other dropdown: <select name="rounds"> <option value='1'>1</option> <option value='3'>3</option> <option value='5'>5</option> <option value='7'>7</option> </select> Say someone selects option 4, then the other dropdown will dynamicly change its values to say: <select class='button' name="rounds"> <option value='23'>23</option> <option value='5'>5</option> <option value='12'>12</option> </select> Each option will change the rounds menu and users can toggle between options. Anyway to do this? is there a demo online?

  • how to use use case relations - uml

    - by joao alves
Heys guys! Im have been study UML and im trying to to design the use case diagram of a problem. Lets supose my app consists in this: Two Requesites: - create teams - create players This is the deal: A user can create a team, and after create a team he can create players for that team(not required). But in this app there are multiple users, and a user can create a team and other user can create players. The only constraint is that to create players must exist alreay a team. I research and i end up a little confuse. If i get the concepts of relations on use case diagrams right, i think i should have the folowwing two use cases: [use case - create team] <-------extends---- [use case - create player] I need opinions,Is this the proper solution? or should i have two not related use cases? Thanks in advance, and im sorry my english.

  • SQL SERVER – CTRL+SHIFT+] Shortcut to Select Code Between Two Parenthesis

    - by pinaldave
Every weekend brings creative ideas and accidents brings best unknown secrets in front of us. Just a day while working with complex SQL Server code in SSMS I came across very interesting shortcut which I have never used before and instantly fell in love with it. It is totally possible that you are familiar with this but for me it was the first time and I was surprised that I did know know this short cut so far. Shortcut key is CTRL+SHIFT+]. This key can be very useful when dealing with multiple subqueries, CTE or query with multiple parentheses. When exercised this shortcut key it selects T-SQL code between two parentheses. Let us see the examples to understand the same. In each of the examples I have put the cursor at the position displayed and pressed CTRL+SHIFT+] and it has selected the code between two corresponding parentheses. Cursor position 1 Cursor position 2 Cursor position 3 If you are a developer and have to code with complex queries, you will totally appreciate that this feature can save so much of the time for development. I often remember my experience as a developer when I have lost a lot of hours to just balance parentheses. As I said yesterday I found this shortcut accidently. How many of you were aware of this feature? Is there any other useful feature you would like to share with us? Please leave a comment and if I have not covered it earlier, I will share it due credit on this blog. • Multi-select menu in bash script

    - by am2605
I'm a bash newbie but I would like to create a script in which I'd like to allow the user to select multiple options from a list of options. Essentially what I would like is something similar to the example below: #!/bin/bash OPTIONS="Hello Quit" select opt in $OPTIONS; do if [ "$opt" = "Quit" ]; then echo done exit elif [ "$opt" = "Hello" ]; then echo Hello World else clear echo bad option fi done (sourced from http://www.faqs.org/docs/Linux-HOWTO/Bash-Prog-Intro-HOWTO.html#ss9.1) However my script would have more options, and I'd like to allow multiples to be selected. So somethig like this: 1) Option 1 2) Option 2 3) Option 3 4) Option 4 5) Done Having feedback on the ones they have selected would also be great, eg plus signs next to ones they ahve already selected. Eg if you select "1" I'd like to page to clear and reprint: 1) Option 1 + 2) Option 2 3) Option 3 4) Option 4 5) Done Then if you select "3": 1) Option 1 + 2) Option 2 3) Option 3 + 4) Option 4 5) Done Also, if they again selected (1) I'd like it to "deselect" the option: 1) Option 1 2) Option 2 3) Option 3 + 4) Option 4 5) Done And finally when Done is pressed I'd like a list of the ones that were selected to be displayed before the program exits, eg if the current state is: 1) Option 1 2) Option 2 + 3) Option 3 + 4) Option 4 + 5) Done Pressing 5 should print: Option 2, Option 3, Option 4 and the script terminate. So my question - is this possible in bash, and if so is anyone able to provide a code sample? Any advice would be much appreciated.

  • My Package Version Number Appears Greater Yet apt-get Doesn't Select It

    - by nutznboltz
Backstory: It was determined that when using lxc container VMs the Nagios nrpe shutdown script when run on the host of the containers would kill the nrpe processes inside the containers. This was remediated by changing the script to use pidfiles instead of searching the process table for the nrpe process. Regrettably start-stop-daemon is a C program that resulted from translating a Perl script and it shows. There are far too many global varibles in start-stop-daemon.c and although there are some nice blocks of comments there are far to few comments that explain the intent behind variable names such as "schedule" (the string "schedule" appears in many contexts.) The manual page for start-stop-daemon strongly suggests that unless you use the "--retry" option the start-stop-daemon program may return before the process it sent a signal to actually calls exit() and terminates, however it doesn't actually state this in plain English. The obtuseness of start-stop-daemon is most likely the reason that the "fixed" version of the script includes a dubious comment indicating that sometimes the pid file has not been removed. I can easily see why someone would not understand that he left the --retry option missing. This bug also causes failures when the script is given the "restart" option; the nrpe daemon will shutdown but not start up again. Did I mention that since applying the update our nrpe servers started crashing over and over? Repairing this is why I am doing this work. I have been working on remediating the fix. You can see my current work in this PPA. Actual Question: The upstream version number of nagios-nrpe-server in lucid-updates is 2.12-4ubuntu1.10.04.1 My PPA uses this version number 2.12-4ubuntu1.10.04.1.1~ppa1~lucid1 I check the rules here and use this test program and I am lead to believe that the version number I use in my PPA is greater than the one in lucid-updates yet when I ran: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nutznboltz/nrpe-unbreak-lp-600941 sudo apt-get update sudo aptitiude dist-upgrade The replacement package was not installed. I was able to install it using sudo aptitude install nagios-nrpe-server=2.12-4ubuntu1.10.04.1.1~ppa1~lucid1 Can anyone explain this behavior? Why didn't my version number appear greater to "aptitude dist-upgrade"? Thanks $ cat /etc/apt/preferences Package: * Pin: release a=lucid-backports Pin-Priority: 400 Package: * Pin: release a=lucid-security Pin-Priority: 990 Package: * Pin: release a=lucid-updates Pin-Priority: 900 Package: * Pin: release a=lucid-proposed Pin-Priority: 400 $ ls /etc/apt/preferences.d/ $ Should not make any difference as a PPA cannot be in any of those pockets. I went ahead and bumped the version number in the PPA to 2.12-4ubuntu1.10.04.2~ppa1~lucid1. I'll see if that makes a difference. I do notice that lintian complains: W: nagios-nrpe-server: debian-revision-not-well-formed 2.12-4ubuntu1.10.04.2~ppa1~lucid1
