  I was wondering if in python there was a simple way to run code if a try statement was successful that wasn't in the try statement itself. Is that what the else or finally commands do (I didn't understand their documentation)? I know I could use code like this: successful = False try: #code that might fail successful = True except: #error handling if code failed if successful: #code to run if try was successful that isn't part of try but I was wondering if there was a shorter way .

  Is it allowed to reference external field from nested select? E.g. SELECT FROM ext1 LEFT JOIN (SELECT * FROM int2 WHERE int2.id = ext1.some_id ) as x ON 1=1 in this case, this is referencing ext1.some_id in nested select. I am getting errors in this case that field ext1.some_id is unknow. Is it possible? Is there some other way?

  I am doing a select * on a postgresql table, and everything looks good. But if I do: SELECT Name from People It says: ERROR: column People.Name does not exist SQL state: 42703 Character: 8 But the name column shows up during select *. I've tried: SELECT People.Name from People as well, with the same result. Am I missing something? It should be pretty easy to do this in any other database.

After doing this am still getting this Warning: Warning 34 CA2000 : Microsoft.Reliability : In method 'test.test', call System.IDisposable.Dispose on object 'properties' before all references to it are out of scope.   Is it safe to do connection.createStatement().executeQuery(String query);, or should each java.sql.Statement object be created and closed by "hand" on every use, even if the connection is closed in a finally block? If multiple queries are executed in one method by one connection it would use much less code if instantiating and closing each statement wasn't strictly necessary.

The documentation states that it is supported but lack any example.
