  Hello Maven gurus, Right now, I'm writing a small java application by my own, with few maven pom.xml files. I want to make all my maven packages to compile with jdk 1.6, and I can't find a good way to do it without manually setting it on every single POMs - I'm sick of copy-and-pasting <groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId> <artifactId>maven-compiler-plugin</artifactId> <configuration> <source>1.6</source> <target>1.6</target> </configuration> in every single pom.xml file I generate. Is there a simpler way to resolve this issue?

• Notepad++ setting to clear the undo buffer on save

  Hello, I've noticed that Notepad++ is clearing the undo buffer when I save a file. This just started happening when I updated the editor to version 5.6.8. (previous version was pretty old... 5.3.? perhaps...) I've seen one reference out there (look at last bullet of answer) that this might be a setting I can change. But for the life of me, I can't find it. Anyone familiar with this?

Again I'm still new to this javascript thing, so just would like to know if there is another way of setting the values of an array (just like declaring it); //correct way of declaring an array and reusing var adata = new Array('1','2','3'); //reusing of variable adata[0] = '4'; adata[1] = '5'; adata[2] = '6' ** This part is my question; I want to declare the values of the array just like declaring them to minimize the number of lines; //array declaration var data = new Array('1','2','3'); //reusing of variable data = ['4','5','6']; --- (as an example) I get an error msg "Invalid assignment left-hand side" is this possible?   Hi On my Core Data Entity "Book" i have a boolean property, 'wasViewed' (NSNumber numberWithBool) that tells me if the Book was "viewed". I would like to implement a sort of "reset" this property for all my NSManagedObjects "Book". So that I can set them all to NO between sessions. I use an NSPredicate to retrieve all the Books like this: NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"wasViewed == %@", [NSNumber numberWithBool:YES]]; // code for setting entity, request etc... NSMutableArray *mutableFetchResults = [[[managedObjectContext executeFetchRequest:request error:&error] mutableCopy] autorelease]; This is working just fine, however, now I need to set up a loop, go through each Book object, something like this: for(Book *b in mutableFetchResults) { [b setWasViewed:NO] } Is there a way to perform an action on each element that fits the predicate instead of retrieving it? So instead of executeFetchRequest on a managedObjectContext it could be executeOperationOnFetchRequestResults or something along those lines. Thanks for any input given:)

  I am using POI to create an Excel spreadsheet in Java. I have the following code used for creating a header row: HSSFWorkbook wb = new HSSFWorkbook(); HSSFSheet sheet = wb.createSheet("Report"); // some more code HSSFRow row = sheet.createRow(0); HSSFCell cell = row.createCell(cellNumber); HSSFCellStyle cellStyle = wb.createCellStyle(); cellStyle.setFillBackgroundColor(HSSFColor.GREY_25_PERCENT.index); cellStyle.setFillPattern(HSSFCellStyle.SOLID_FOREGROUND); HSSFFont font = wb.createFont(); font.setBoldweight(HSSFFont.BOLDWEIGHT_BOLD); font.setColor(HSSFColor.WHITE.index); cellStyle.setFont(font); cell.setCellStyle(cellStyle); The issue I am having is that setting the fill background color on the cell always comes out black, no matter what color I pick. What am I doing wrong? If I don't use the "setFillPattern" line, no color shows up at all.

  I have a base class for all my textboxes and I want to set the default font in that class. So I started with this: public partial class MyTextBox : TextBox { public WmlTextBox() { InitializeComponent(); //Font for the whole application can be altered in the Appearance class Font = new Appearance().TextBoxFont; } } I then stripped out all the code in the form that was setting the font of the textboxes. Of course this worked fine until I altered an item on the page. Visual Studio picked up the default font for the application (set in the Appearance class), and generated code in the designer for all TextBoxes to set it to that specific font. How can I stop visual studio from generating code from my default font? I want to allow the developers to change the property, but I want to set the default font centrally.

  I need help setting up phpstorm (4.0) with XAMPP which is at the default location c:\htdocs. I create all my projects at c:\htdocs\projectname. Here are the things I have already done: Setup the PHP interpretator by going to settings and then PHP (main menu) Go to PHP Servers and then To setup run configuration I have the done the following: Now when I run using the above configuration it just takes me to localhost in my browser, instead of the file I am editing (http://localhost instead of localhost/myproject/myfile.php). What am I missing? I read the help topics of phpstorm and googled a lot but still couldn't figure it out.

  I can derive latitude and longitude and UTC time from GPS NMEA sentences. Now, how can I automaticly adjust the Windows local time zone on my PC (2003 Server OS), based on this? Also, Is there an easy way of distributing this to clients based on code or apps software? Preferred programming environment is .NET, C# & Visual Studio. I use a GPS Time server (GPS clock with antenna) today, but this could not support other than UTC. I want to set computers in my TCP/UDP network to correct time zone w/DST based on coordinates derived from GPS, so manually setting of all is not required.

My submit button also has the same validationgroup so it validates everything upon it being clicked. The problem i am having is setting the focus to the validationsummary control after validation occurs when my submit button is clicked. The focus goes to the top of my webform. While login from my application, Im setting the session and redirecting to pages controller, but there I could not able to get the session. If I redirect to some other controller, Im getting the session over there. I have a table with name "pages", and when the user clicks on the links (passing page name), Im taking data from that table and displaying using pages_controller. Can I not use "pages" as table name ? Or session won't work in pages_controller ?

• How can I prevent a ToggleButton from being Toggled without setting IsEnabled=False

  I have a list of ToggleButtons being used as the ItemTemplate in a ListBox similar to this answer using the MultiSelect mode of the Listbox. However I need to make sure at least one item is always selected. I can get the proper behavior from the ListBox by just adding an item back into the ListBox's SelectedItems collection on the ListBox.SelectionChanged event but my ToggleButton still moves out of its toggled state so I think I need to stop it earlier in the process. I would like to do it without setting IsEnabled="False" on the last button Selected because I'd prefer to stay with the Enabled visual style without having to redo my button templates. Any ideas?

  I've got a button which contains a span I need for styling: <button id="example" name="example" value="Example"><span>Example</span></button> IE6 has a bug that it submits the contents of the button instead of it's value, but I've already worked around that. Now I need to change the value of the button and the text in the span in JavaScript/jQuery: jQuery("#example").val("Changed").children("span").text("Changed"); However IE6 also changes the contents of the button when setting the value per JavaScript/jQuery, so that the span is lost. Does any one know of a way other that identifying IE6 with jQuery.browser that I could use to avoid that?

The movie is editable, so I can't understand what I'm doing wrong here. How can I ensure that the attributes will actually change?

  I have a table with a ModifiedUserID field that is a foreign key to a User table. In entity framework, I'm loading the first table, but not the users table. I have the user ID of the current user, and would like to set the ModifiedUserID to that value for all entities that have been modified prior to saving. Before calling SaveChanges(), I use the ObjectStateManager to get all modified entities. Since I do not have the user object, but I do have the user ID, I set the EntityReference.EntityKey property as follows: entity.UserReference.EntityKey = New EntityKey("MyContainer.User", "UserID", DatabaseUserID) This works fine, but when I execute SaveChanges(), I receive the following error: A relationship is being added or deleted from an AssociationSet 'FK_Table1_User'. With cardinality constraints, a corresponding 'Table1' must also be added or deleted. Now, I see that setting the EntityReference.EntityKey creates a new AssociationSet entry, but how to I prevent this error?

  hello everybody i am using JPA with EclipseLink and oracle as DB and i need to set the property v$session of jdbc4 it allows to set an identification name to the application for auditing purposes but i had no lucky setting it up....i have been trying through entitiyManager following the example in this page: http://wiki.eclipse.org/Configuring_a_EclipseLink_JPA_Application_(ELUG) it does not show any error but does not set the application name at all... when i see the audit in oracle it is not being audited with the name i set by code "Customers" but with OS_program_name=JDBC Thin Client it means that the property in the code is not being set properly and i have no idea where the issue is, the code i am using is the following : emProperties.put("v$session.program","Customers"); factory=Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory("clients",emProperties); em=factory.createEntityManager(emProperties); em.merge(clients); does anybody know how to do it or any idea.... thanks.-

• Help with setting up panels in Java

  I'm new to Java awt, so I am having trouble with setting up panels. I have one giant panel, which needs to hold 3 panels inside (photo is attached at the bottom). One will go on top(1), second one will be in the middle(3), and third goes on the bottom(2). Any remaining space has to be divided equally between (1)/(3) and (3)/(2). Also, the middle panel (3) is a table, so GridLayout has to be used. How can I achieve this? Thanks in advance! P.S. I've tried to draw it in MS Paint (http://i45.tinypic.com/2w523ie.jpg)

  Hi, I'm working on a rake task which imports from a JSON feed into an ActiveRecord called Person. Person has quite a few attributes and rather than write lines of code for setting each attribute I'm trying different methods. The closest I've got is shown below. This works nicely as far as outputing to screen but when I check the values have actually been set on the ActiveRecord itself it's always nil. So it looks like I can't use .to_sym to solve my problem? Any suggestions? I should also mention that I'm just starting out with Ruby, have been doing quite a bit of Objective-c and now need to embrace the Interwebs :) http = Net::HTTP.new(url.host, url.port) http.read_timeout = 30 json = http.get(url.to_s).body parsed = JSON.parse(json) if parsed.has_key? • Setting Corner Radius on UIImageView not working

  I'm at a bit of a loss. I've used the layer property of UIView to round the corners of multiple elements in my app. However, this one UIImageView is simply not complying. Not sure what I am missing. The UIImageView (called previewImage) is contained in a Table View Cell. They give you javascript code that you embed in your pages (whichever event you wish to track) and voila..you're done. I have written a native application for Android phones, which is actually an adaptation of the actual web site. Now, I am required to setup Analytics and tracking for this native application. Question: How to do setup a native application for Analytics? We have Java Script code(not Google Analytics but for some other engine) that works for the original web site. Is there a way to incorporate that in the native application? I know Android supports Java Script via WebViews(Webkit);my application does not have webviews, it is native!   I am reading the LazyTableImages code that Apple have released and they do something to this effect (in an NSOperation subclass): - (void)dealloc { [myProperty release]; [myProperty2 release]; } - (void)main { // // Parse operation undertaken here // self.myProperty = nil; self.myProperty2 = nil; } My thinking is that they do this in case dealloc is called before setting properties to nil. Is my thinking correct here? Are the releases unnecessary, as self.myProperty = nil effectively releases myProperty? One thing I have noticed in this code is that they don't release all retained objects in dealloc, only some of them, which is really the cause for my confusion. Cheers

  I'm using the AutoComplete control from the ASP.NET AJAX Control Toolkit and I'm experiencing an issue where the AutoComplete does not populate when I set the focus to the assigned textbox. I've tried setting the focus in the Page_Load, Page_PreRender, and Page_Init events and the focus is set properly but the AutoComplete does not work. If I don't set the focus, everything works fine but I'd like to set it so the users don't have that extra click. Is there a special place I need to set the focus or something else I need to do to make this work? Thanks.
