    I have two tables: Standards and Service Offerings. A Standard can have multiple Service Offerings. Each Standard can have a different number of Service Offerings associated to it. What I need to be able to do is write a view that will return some common data and then list the service offerings on one line. For example: Standard Id | Description | SO #1 | SO #2 | SO #3 | ... | SO #21 | SO Count 1 | One | A | B | C | ... | G | 21 2 | Two | A | | | ... | | 1 3 | Three | B | D | E | ... | | 3 I have no idea how to write this. The number of SO columns is set to a specific number (21 in this case), so we cannot exceed past that. Any ideas on how to approach this? A place I started is below. It just returned multiple rows for each Service Offering, when they need to be on one row. SELECT * FROM SERVICE_OFFERINGS WHERE STANDARD_KEY IN (SELECT STANDARD_KEY FROM STANDARDS)

  • MMGR Questions, code use and thread-saftey

    1) Is MMGR thread safe? 2) I was hoping someone could help me understand some code. I am looking at something where a macro is used, but I don't understand the macro. I know it contains a function call and an if check, however, the function is a void function. How does wrapping "(m_setOwner (FILE,_LINE_,FUNCTION),false)" ever change return types? #define someMacro (m_setOwner(__FILE__,__LINE__,__FUNCTION__),false) ? NULL : new ... void m_setOwner(const char *file, const unsigned int line, const char *func); 3) What is the point of the reservoir? 4) On line 770 ("void *operator new(size_t reportedSize)" there is the line "// ANSI says: allocation requests of 0 bytes will still return a valid value" Who/what is ANSI in this context? Do they mean the standards? 5) This is more of C++ standards, but where does "reportedSize" come from for "void *operator new(size_t reportedSize)"? 6) Is this the code that is actually doing the allocation needed? "au-actualAddress = malloc(au-actualSize);"

  • The "correct" way of using multilingual support

    I just began working with ASP.NET and I'm trying to bring with me some coding standards I find healthy. Among such standards there is the multilingual support and the use of resources for easily handling future changes. Back when I used to code desktop applications, every text had to be translated, so it was a common practice to have the language files for every languages I would want to offer to the customers. In those files I would map every single text, from button labels to error messages. In ASP.NET, with the help of Visual Studio, I have the resort of using the IDE to generate such Resource Files (from Tools - Generate Local Resource), but then I would have to fill my webpages with labels - at least that is what I've learned from articles and tutorials. However, such approach looks a bit odd and I'm tempted to guess it doesn't smell that good as well. Now to the question: 1) Should I keep every single text in my website as labels and manage its contents in the resource files? It looks/feels odd specially when considering a text with several paragraphs. 2) Whenever I add/remove something, e.g.: a button, to an aspx file I would have to add it to the resource file as well, because generating the resource file again would simply override all my previous changes to it. That doesn't feel like a reusable code at all for me. Any comment suggestion on this one? Perhaps I got it all wrong from tutorials as it doesn't seem like a standardized matter - specially if it required recompiling the entire application whenever some change has to be done.

  • How to write a generic USB Host Driver for Printers from various vendors?

    I want to develop a USB host on an embedded device that will talk to printers from various vendors. Drivers for the vendor specific printers would be available on PC which is ultimately communicating with printer but my device is facilitating this communication and needs to perform the basic handshaking/setup of the printer (i.e, it needs to know when the printer is connected, what are the socket IDs that needs to be opened for CTRL and DATA transmissions etc). All of these printers are supposed to comply with IEEE 1284.4 standards but I see that many of them vary quiet a bit. One approach I have is to take the USB traces of handshaking from each of these printers and write various sections of code respectively (I know, that sounds ridiculous!). Is there a generic way to do this? Is there any available forum where these standard informations are mentioned? For eg: EPSON uses 'EPSON-CTRL' and 'EPSON-DATA' for its control and data services which needs to be provided to get the socket ID for these services. I am pretty sure HPs, Canon's etc would have their own service names as well. As per the standards, this was supposed to be captured in IANA but I dont see anything there.     We are considering to buy a wireless 4G/LTE router (LG L-04D) in Japan. Since we are moving to Norway (Europe) soon, we want something that would also work there (with a new SIM card and service provider, of course). Does anyone know if this device will work in Norway?     Both my router and my wireless networking card support the standards 802.11a/b/g/n but as I'm only getting speeds around 30-40 Mbit/s I suspect that it's the g standard being used instead of n. Now, I'd like to verify this somehow, so my question is: Is there a way (like a network diagnistics tool or the like) to find out which standard is currently used in the communication between computer and router?

I figure integrating the web component won't be too hard, but we have users which connect to the Database directly - currently using Windows Authentication. Is is possible to itegrate Computer Associates SiteMinder with SQL Server? With SSAS? If so, how much effort is involved?

  • Enabling vim file type plugin

    In my .vimrc file I have this line.. filetype plugin indent on and then in ~/.vim/ftplugin/py.vimrc (I've also tried saving it as a .vim file) I've copied and pasted a vimrc file for python standards and have enabled all of the suggested settings in it (uncommented them). When I create and open a test.py file and do something like a tab, it goes 8 spaces instead of 4. Not sure what's going wrong.

Bonus points: Supported in OSx86 land. Quiet and low power. I tend to lean towards nvidia because I'm used to their drivers and their software (nview, etc.)

It shouldn't, since this isn't mandated by the standards and indeed we're getting the headers in various different orders So we would like to rewrite the headers in Apache so that the cookie headers always appear in a specific order. Is there any way of doing this? An ideal solution would be specifically about cookie headers, but something that lets us mess with the header order more generally would do too.

    When I'm using the iwconfig command on my current wifi interface , wlan0 , the first line I get as output is wlan0 IEEE 802.11bgn. When I try to do this when I am connected to other WiFi's, I sometimes get other versions, like IEEE 802.11bg or IEEE 802.11abgn. I want to ask, what's the meaning of this output? if the output is IEEE 802.11bgn then it means that this WiFi supports both the b , g and n standards or it means something else? Thnaks :)

    Is there a way to detect whether two EXE's (compiled from VS.Net 2008 for C++/MFC) do not have any code-level changes between them i.e. for purposes of knowing that there have been no statement changes.     The question is pretty simple, is it possible to create a FIPS 140-2 compliant server in Perl? Especially, is it possible without modifying any of the C code for the modules? If it's not possible in straight Perl, what would be the easiest way to go about it from a C perspective?     Hi, Hopefully someone has come across this before. I'm running Spring STS 2.3.0 and when attempting to use the @Resource annotation from javax.annotations.Resource I get "Access restriction: The type Resource is not accessible due to restriction on required library". I'm using the JDK 6u18. I've tried changing the JDK Compliance to 1.5 and 1.6 and both yield the same error. Cheers, -Ed
