  • Is it possible to rsync your web site to another backup server and use the same .htaccess files?

    I am trying to use rsync to replicate all the files from one web server to another server that could act as a backup if the first one went down. The problem I am having is that the .htaccess file requires the AuthUserFile to have the fully quallified path to the .htpasswd file and I cannot make the paths the same on the two machines. Does anyone know how I might use the same .htaccess file on two different servers? Thanks for any help that can be provided.

  • can't see deleted objects from AD in iis server

    i wrote app with c# in asp.net which connect to AD and gets deleted users, everything works on my computer, but in the iis server i cant see the deleted users, i checked permissions, filter, path, evrithing's right (and in ldp i can see deleted users in the server too) the asp.net virsion in the iis server match the virsion in my computer. when i change the code to view all users (deleted and exists) it shows only the exists what can it be?

    I'm doing the following to mount a remote server to a specific path on my server: sshfs [email protected]:/backup/folder/ /home/myuser/server-backups/ However when I mount the server the folder permissions change (they become 700), and when I test my rsnapshot.conf file I get the following error: snapshot_root /home/myuser/server-backups/ - snapshot_root exists \ but is not readable What am I doing wrong ? should I mount the remote server with another user ?

  • Windows External Harddisk drive letter after cloning boot partition to it

    I cloned my windows 7 installation on c: to external hard drive. I applied usb patch using pwboot and i could successfully boot into windows. But My problem is even though i am booting in to external hd the file reference and system path is pointing to c: on my internal hard disk. If i remove internal hd and boot it will get stuck at login screen. Is there any way i can force drive letter c: to my boot partition on external hd while booting from it.

    We use Citrix to access an app (APP1) remotely. As it currently stands, when APP1 needs to do a merge document, it calls a session of another app (APP2) from the Citrix server. However, due to latency issues, we now want APP1 to call a local version of APP2. This is controlled in the registry entry for APP1. I'm wondering what kind of path entry would need to be made so that APP1 would call the local APP2 while following the rules of the Citrix profile.

Also local-as prepending may or may not happen based on configurations; for example "no-prepend" in cisco. Now my question is, is there any RFC which which standardises this Dual-As support?? Which provides guidelines on whether or not to prepend the "local-as" to As-Path attributes in the Bgp updates ?

    I have setup a dedicated LAN for Cobbler tests. My setup is: Cobbler server: openSUSE 12.3, cobbler 2.2.2 (from openSUSE repos) Imported distros: Centos 6.5, Red Hat 6.5, Red Hat 7.0, openSUSE 13.1 Target Machine: VMs in a Windows 7 Virtualbox Systems provisioning works OK, but I have some problems. The first one is that cobbler does not honor the "pxe_just_once: 1" setting. When the setup of the target OS is finished, after the reboot the target systems continues to PXE boot! The second problem is that the target server is not correctly configured!     I find myself constantly typing (using tab, of course) absurd paths like cd path/to/the/thing\ that\ I\ need/python/proj/eraseme Aside from doing an ln -s (or some other type of ln?), is there any other way to get around faster? Also, if the solution is to use ln, is there some standard way/place to put the links so a not to clutter my ~ directory? I'm not asking for shortcuts only: any solution that helps with the problem of "how to get around" would help.

    Can I have different .bashrc files loading when logging into different nodes that share the same home dir? This is, I am mostly interested to loading different PATH directories when logging as bash, depending on the different Linux nodes I log into? For example, if I log into bash in machine abc-01, I would like to have a given .bashrc loaded, but when I log into abc-02, that uses the same /home/username directory, I would like to use a different .bashrc. How can I go about doing that?

    I have a few Window XP clients that are part of a domain, when trying to set the permissions on the security tab and pressing location to search the AD for users it only presents the local machine... So I follow this path Right click folder Properties Security Add in the locations field where I would normally see the windows domain, I am only seeing the local machine name??? So only users that have a local account can be added to the folders permissions... Any tips would be appreciated

    I am using .htaccess file to redirect all web traffic in a folder to ssl, because the directory prompts users for a login. When a user logs in they are redirected from https://subdir.mailmarkup.org/ to https://subdir.mailmarkup.org/~homedir/subdir. I want users to be redirected from http to https, and this is occuring successfully, however, I do not want users redirected from the first path mentioned above to the second. How do I prevent this?

It's annoying when I've got several variables to specify. To get around the problem I've been typing out the variables first to get regular completion speed, then hitting home' to insertmake` that the start of my command line.     Do anyone know why since Maverick update, Navicat can't connect anymore to any database which is saved into "/Users/Username" folder? It keeps saying: "Database file path is not correct". If I copy/paste the same DB in any other folder it connects perfectly. I need to open DBs in that folder because that's the folder where Xcode put the Apps ones and I can't everytime I need to modify them, copy/paste them on my desktop and then put them back again.
