  • Stopping an if clause along with the whole PHP script, but not HTML

    Hello there, I've been having this problem for around an hour, and have searched the internet for answers. I've checked the PHP documentation, looked around, Googled, nothing. Anyways, my problem is that after I try to validate something (and it's wrong), if I use exit; it will also stop the HTML after. Here's what I'm talking about: if ($_POST['exampleEmail'] == "") { echo "Please enter an e-mail."; //Now I want only the PHP script to stop, however... exit; //If I use exit, then the HTML after this script (footer) doesn't show. } If anyone can help, please do. I've tried using break, but to no avail, since it's only for loops and switches. If there is a better/more correct (or simply correct if this is the wrong way), please share. I've had this problem in the past, and I just used exit then. Thanks.

    To keep things simple let's just say I have a c# Windows Store Project for Windows 8 that has the following items: GridView (PlatformsGrid) List«PlatformSearchResult» (allPlatforms) DataTemplate (PlatformDataTemplate) in standardstyles.xaml allPlatforms is a collection of "PlatformSearchResult"objects populated from an online API, and has the following 3 properties: ID Name Alias I am able to add a new item to the gridview for each object that exists in my allPlatforms collection, however the items are blank and do not show the data from my objects.   • Android Notepadv1 Tutorial - Persistent mNoteNumber?

    So I did the Notepadv1 tutorial. It worked great. No problems. I would however like some explanation on why the mNoteNumber remembers the last number of the item I created. So the class starts as follows: public class Notepadv1 extends ListActivity { private int mNoteNumber = 1; That's fine, I understand that. The only other time the mNoteNumber variable is used is when you add an item it creates a note with that number and then increments it to the next number as follows: private void createNote() { String noteName = "Note " + mNoteNumber++; Those are the only two references to the variable mNoteNumber. When I press the Home button and then reopen the app, I add a new note but instead of adding a second "Note 1" it remembers that the last note I added as "Note 3" so it makes "Note 4". So I don't get it. Does Java/Android remember the last state of variables? If anyone could give me some explanation that would be great THANKS!

    Hello all, I am trying this for an iPhone app in Xcode: create html code for a website on the fly sending it to a php-script and getting the response with this code: NSError * error = [[[NSError alloc]init]autorelease]; NSURL * phpURL = [NSURL URLWithString: @"http://www.mydomain.com/myscript.php?mywebsite= (...websitestring...) ];NSString * myResponse = [NSString stringWithContentsOfURL:phpURL encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding error:&error]; It does not work. It should not be a problem of the php code because when I replace the websitestring which contains the html code with "hello" or something, this is accepted. (the script then creates a file "test.html" with the content I sent.) But when I put html code in it, I always get the error: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=256 "The operation couldn’t be completed. (Cocoa error 256.)" UserInfo=0x322ec10 {} It seems that there are some things to consider when sending code to php? Thanks in advance!

    Hi, As the title says, I want to know if it is be possible to automatically launch a PHP script when a restart of apache is done. thanks MORE INFO EDIT: I will try to explain what is the purpose of this, the best I can. We are currently refactoring our application and we'll be stuck with 2 differents configuration file system for the time being, until all of the application flows are refactored (might take more than a year). The old one is using simple flat file in the key=value format (i.e. www.conf), while the new system will use cacheable php files (i.e. www.php). We need to replicate to www.php any config changes made in www.config. Since Apache gets restarted whenever there is a config change in www.conf, I thought it might be a good workaround solution to launch a PHP script, that would replicate the www.conf to www.php.

    I am using Windows XP. The code can be used in a batch file or vbs script. I intend to use Windows scheduler to run the program. I need code to read a date from a text file (could be the only line in the text file or the date could be included in the filename, I control the process that generates the file) The code would then need to evaluate the text file date against the current date to confirm that the text file date is from the prior month. I'm starting to build a process to be able to run 1st-of-the-month jobs once the monthly data has been refreshed. I'm new to building this kind of process using batch/script files.     I'm trying to replace a bunch of Linux shell scripts with Scala scripts. One of the remaining challenges is how to scan an entire directory of JARs and place them into the classpath. Currently this is done in the shell script prior to invoking the scala JVM. I'd like to eliminate the shell script completely. Is there an elegant scala idiom for this?     I'd like to add Elements to a StackPanel (or Listbox / Listview if it would make that easier) and automatically add a Button (like "...") to indicate that there are more children than there is space for. Consider a calendar that has appointment items in each day. If there are more appointments than as much as can be displayed a button is displayed to go to a detailed view for that day. Can this be done automatically, or how do I calculate the positions of the stackpanel and its items. It's for windows store development in c#. Thanks in advance.

    Is it possible to echo something while the script for example is still running in a loop? my problem: I ask the server with Ajax and then the server is fetching mails and store them in Database. This took around 15 sec. During that Time the Server should echo his progress so that the Javascript can update a loading bar. This is working with a php script without CodeIgniter well. Is there a way to skip the output class and all that stuff to get a direct echo? Thanks

I am familiar with Prevent * to be expanded in the bash script. How can I display and use the text as is?     I have a simple python script like so: import sys lines = sys.argv[1] for line in lines.splitlines(): print line I want to call it from the command line (or a .bat file) but the first argument may (and probably will) be a string with multiple lines in it. How does one do this? Of course, this works: import sys lines = """This is a string It has multiple lines there are three total""" for line in lines.splitlines(): print line But I need to be able to process an argument line-by-line. EDIT: This is probably more of a Windows command-line problem than a Python problem. EDIT 2: Thanks for all of the good suggestions. It doesn't look like it's possible. I can't use another shell because I'm actually trying to invoke the script from another program which seems to use the Windows command-line behind the scenes.

    I'm trying to set up a batch file to automatically deploy a php app to a web server. Basically, what I want is an entirely automated process: I would just give it a revision number from the repository and it would then export the files, upload via ftp and then update deployment info at the repo host (codebase). However, I'm starting from scratch here. How would I set up a batch file to accept a variable when it was run? For example, the command myfile.bat /revision 42 should deploy revision 42 to my server. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

    I need to search through a directory which contains many sub directories, each which contain files. The files read as follows question1234_01, where 1234 are random digits and the suffix _01 is the number of messages that contain the prefix, meaning they are apart of the same continuing thread. find . -name 'quest*' | cut -d_ -f1 | awk '{print $1}' | uniq -c | sort -n example output: 1 quest1234 10 quest1523 This searches for all the files then sorts them in order. What I want to do is print all the files which end up having the most occurrences, in my example the one with 10 matches. So it should only output quest1523_01 - 11

    I have written the following script. It opens a file, reads each line from it splitting by new line character and deleting first character in line. If line exists it's being added to array. Next each element of array is splitted by whitespace, sorted alphabetically and joined again. Every line is printed because script is fired from console and writes everything to file using standard output. I'd like to optimize this code to be more pythonic.   • Site works perfect in Mozilla but not in IE. Is my js file not compatible with IE

    I'm working on a site written in PHP/MySQL. We have a form to reserve time on a calendar and it works great in Mozilla and stores the reservation to our database, but in IE you fill out the form and when you click the "Reserve" button to submit it and nothing happens. All I can think of is that my javascript is not working with IE. I have these lines in my .js file: resLenT = document.getElementById(resLenElem); resLenI = resLenT.selectedIndex; resLen = resLenI + 1; where resLenElem is a drop-down box. These are the only lines that I can think of at the moment that might be causing trouble in IE. Does this all sound like I'm on the right track or am I way off base?

I am able to right click on the file in STS and execute it which works well. However - I want to be able to execute the script on the windows command line, so far I have tried various ways but have not been successful. I have tried the following... java -cp C:\Users\MyName\springsource\sts- 3.1.0.RELEASE\plugins\org.codehaus.grails.bundle_2.1.1\content\lib\ org.codehaus.groovy\groovy-all\jars\groovy-all-1.8.8.jar Test.class But that does not work it gives me an error -- Error: Could not find or load main class Test.class Any Pointers?

I have a MainWindow which contains a ListBox and a Button (lets say addButton). When i click the button i navigate to a new page, lets say AddCustomerPage with this.Frame.Navigate(typeof (AddCustomerPage)); AddCustomerPage has 1 textBox and 1 button (lets say doneButton. When i click the button i want the string in the textBox to be added to the ListBox on the previous page. This is my current functionality: 1. MainWindow is created. Click addButton AddCustomer page is created. MainWindow is destroyed(problem). Click doneButton A MainWindow object is created with a ListBox with 1 item. Repeat the add process, i always get a MainWindow with a ListBox with 1 item. Thanks for the help.
