  • Can't connect to windows via ssh

    I downloaded cygwin and ran ssh-host-config. I'm trying to connect using ssh -l micah myserver it then says micah@myserver's password: I enter the same password I use to log into windows and it says Permission Denied, please try again. After the third try it says: Permission denied (publickey,password,keyboard-interactive). What am I doing wrong? Any ideas? Do I need to generate an ssh key on the client and add it somewhere on the server?

  • Customize the Windows 7 Games Explorer

    So I just upgraded my system to the Windows 7 RTM, and I've noticed they took away the ability to customize the shortcuts in the Games Explorer. Is there a third-party application that would allow me to customize the shortcuts without having to do so manually? I know how to do it, but it's a pain, and I'd rather have a GUI do the dirty work for me.

    First interface is ppp0 (pptp vpn) Second inteface is tun0 (openvpn) Third interface eth0 (default gw interface) Openvpn is set to change default route on client for all packets to go through tun0 vpn, that part is working ok. I would like to make all packets from tun0 go to ppp0 and get out from that interface (MASQ) but somehow they always end up on eth0 (default gw interface) /etc/shorewall/masq ppp0 tun0 doesn't seem to work

  • Dynamics CRM 2011 report view can't be changed?

    I am trying to create a report for our CRM system but I am finding that I cannot change the page settings for it. If I export it to Excel I can tinker around with the results but I would rather that I change the actual report than have users manually change it. While I want this changed I don't want to have to add some third-party software to do this. That said does anyone have any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

    The passwords cached for Network shares on other computers and applications like MSN Live, MS Outlook, Sharepoint portal, Outlook Webmail, etc are lost when I reboot my computer, which runs on Vista. I always check the Remember password checkbox in applications/login dialogs where ever prompted. I cannot imagine of a third party program that may clean up this on system restart/shutdown. Any idea, as to what is going wrong?

    I'm looking for a way to disable the smart card PIN change ability provided with Windows 7's native minidriver. It doesn't allow us to enforce any PIN complexity requirements such that users could change their PIN to 000000 or blank without any issues so we'd like to disable that ability. I've been googling around and haven't found any way to do this, but perhaps someone has encountered a similar issue and found a resolution? A third party minidriver is the next step, but if we could do it without additional tools I'm all for it.

  • Transferring programs to a different Windows partition

    I have two Windows partitions installed on a HDD, as well as a third partition where I have hundreds of programs installed. I've installed all the programs with my Windows 7 RC, but now that the Release Candidate is coming to an end I have to switch over to my other Windows installation. Is there an easy way to transfer all of my programs registry entries and other references to my new Windows installation, or do I have to reinstall all of my programs on my new partition? Thanks.

    In XP, I could go ToolsOptionsFile Types and modify descriptions, icons and actions. Does this still exist in Windows 7? I'm not finding anything explicitly saying so, but there are lots of recommendations to download assorted random software to do it. There must be a way to change this without having to use third party stuff?

    The only thing I miss from Vista on W7 is that, you can click the batery icon and select one of three power profiles without having to open the Energy option Window. Can I archieve this on W7 Without having to install a third party tool? I have tried one, but with so many bugs and problems, but I guess there are maybe one tool out there that works fine.     I have an external hard disk, where I have created many partitions to use also in Linux. The first two partitions are FAT32. The third is a Truecrypt Partition. I cannot assign a letter to the second partition. When I go to Manage disk and make right clic on the unassigned partition, most of the items are not enables.     I am making calls from an ec2 instance to a third party web service (over which I have no control). I would like to be able to scale horizontally, so that I can make these calls from multiple ec2 instances, but the web service I'm calling whitelists my IP, and for the sake of discussion let's assume I can't get another IP address whitelisted.     I have always been somewhat reluctant to "outsource" site statistics to Google. We have an Apache server running on a Windows server. I am pretty sure all the foundation to collect the needed visitor data are there. I would like to stop using GA, and use some form of application where the data does not travel to a third party but remains at the host, or at least travels to the remote administrator, if it is a log analyzer in a browser. What are my options?
