• Kohana v3, escape illegal characters?

  Quick question, does Kohana (version 3) automatically escape data that is passed into ORM::factory..... (and everywhere else that has to do with the database)? For example: $thread = ORM::factory('thread', $this->request->param('id')); Would the data passed in the second argument be auto-escaped before it goes in the SQL query or do I have to manually do it? Probably a stupid question and it's better to be safe than sorry, but yeah... I usually do manually escape the data, but I want to know if Kohana does this for me? Thanks

• Can you suggest good ways of generating URLS for viewing tagged content

  For example, here on stack overflow the URL http://stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/javascript+php will give you all questions tagged with javascript and php. The system I have allows tags with spaces in them, so the approach used here would not be a good fit for me. What character would you use to separate the tags, so the URLs are still human readable, google readable and web browser compatible. My gut feeling was to use commas. eg http://example.com/tagged/first+tag,second+tag Any feedback or suggestions would be welcome.

  Hi I have an iPhone app that shows the user a UIWebView in the first view, what I am trying to do is allow the user to save what is essentially favorites to be saved and then displayed in a table view in the second view. To do this all i need is the page URL and also the Page Title to be saved to then populate the table view. Now here is the problem I am just starting to learn how to make iPhone apps and I have no clue what would be the best way to save it and how to get this information from the web view?

  Hello, In my app I am using the ym4r-gm plugin, which allows you to play with the Google Maps API... I put the map "setup" in the controller: @map = GMap.new("div_map") @map.control_init(:large_map => true, :map_type => true) @map.center_zoom_init([47.0, 26.0], 7) ... And only render @map in the view. So my first question is whether I am using the right approach of "diving" this code? And the second question is: I have to models, which are rendering the same map (only the resources are different). Where should I put my refactored method that renders the map?   Is there any performance overhead in using RaiseEvent in .net I have a code which is similar to following. Dim _startTick As Integer = Environment.TickCount 'Do some Task' Dim duration As Integer = Environment.TickCount - _startTick Logger.Debug("Time taken : {0}", duration) RaiseEvent Datareceived() Above code returns Time Taken :1200 Time Taken :1400 But if remove RaiseEvent it returns Time Taken :110 Time Taken :121 I am surprised that the raiseevent is called after the logging of time taken. How it effects total time taken. I am working on Compact framework. Update: In the Eventhandler I had given a MsgBox. When I removed the message box it is now showing time taken as 110,121,etc i.e. less that 500 milliseconds. If I put the Msgbox back in eventhandler it shows 1200,1400,etc i.e. more that a second. More surprised now.(Event is raised after the logging part)

• Performance of DirectX and Recent Windows Mobile Version

  I'm seeing very poor performance while using the managed DirectDraw wrappers for WindowsMobile. Microsoft.WindowsMobile.DirectX.Direct3D I would appear the biggest bottle neck is calling Device.Present() after building up the scene. When using the System.Diagnostics.Stopwatch and running this very trivial exmaple Using Sprites on MSDN I'm seeing it's taking approximately 150ms to call the Device.Present() method. I'm seeing this on my AT&T Tilt and on the emulator. In larger applications such as the UltimateGMan sample it's taking over a second to call this method. Does anyone have any experience with using DirectX on mobile devices? What am I missing? I would prefer to stay in the managed world but if I drop back into C++ would I see better performance?

• Post Loading ads from Google Admanager

  I have changed code around to basically load an add the bottom of the page in a hidden div and attached an onload event handler that called document.getElementById(xxx).appendChild() to take the hidden ad and move it into the right spot in my page. This works GREAT.. however when the ad is a text ad it AFTER i move the ad there is nothing in the rendered Iframe. I did tests to see what it looks like before i move it and sure enough the text links load in the IFRAME but the second i do the appendChild call to move the div that contains the ad i seem to loose the contents of the Iframe. • How can I generate a list of words made up of combinations of three word lists in Perl?

  I have three lists of words. I would like to generate a single list of all the combinations of words from the three lists. List 1: red green blue List 2: one two List 3: apple banana The final list would like like so: red one apple red two apple red one banana red two banana ... and so on Ideally I'd like to pass in three arrays and the routine return one array. I have done a simple loop like so: foreach $word1 (@list1){ foreach $word2 (@list2){ foreach $word3 (@list3){ print "$word1 $word2 $word3\n"; } } } However, this doesn't work if there's nothing in the second or third list (I may only want to iterate between one, two or three lists at a time - in other words, if I only supply two lists it should iterate between those two lists).

  Hi guys, I'm using RUBY 's regular expression to deal with text such as ${1:aaa|bbbb} ${233:aaa | bbbb | ccc ccccc } ${34: aaa | bbbb | cccccccc |d} ${343: aaa | bbbb | cccccccc |dddddd ddddddddd} ${3443:a aa|bbbb|cccccccc|d} ${353:aa a| b b b b | c c c c c c c c | dddddd} I want to get the trimed text between each pipe line. For example, for the first line of my upper example, I want to get the result aaa and bbbb, for the second line, I want aaa, bbbb and ccc ccccc. Now I have wrote a piece of regular expression and a piece of ruby code to test it: array = "${33:aaa|bbbb|cccccccc}".scan(/\$\{\s*(\d+)\s*:(\s*[^\|]+\s*)(?:\|(\s*[^\|]+\s*))+\}/) puts array Now my problem is the (?:\|(\s*[^\|]+\s*))+ part can't create multiple groups. I don't know how to solve this problem, because the number of text I need in each line is variable. Anyone can help? Great thanks.

• slow php command line performance - is this normal or do I have an install problem?

  I have a simple PHP app that prints 'hello world'. When I run it from the command line it takes 6 seconds. Is this normal? It seems to take 1 seconds before "hello world" prints, then 5 seconds after. I assume this is overhead of the interpreter. I am running PHP version 5.2.12 on Windows Server 2008 R2. Could this be an install issue, or is it typical? I did a manual install of PHP then added whatever components were needed to run Drupal. The only PHP addon I remember adding was MDB2, CGI support is there too. I am used to a Lua project I run from the command line, hundreds of lines of code that will run in under a second. I have some unit tests I run from the command line, and already with just a few they are very slow. I run them from Netbeans and the tests are still very slow.

• ajax send parameter to jsp but failed

  I am trying to send data to my jsp via:"xhr.send(projectCode);" but apparently the parameter is not received when I am trying to realise it with System.out.print it is a null displayed. so the story from the begining. my javascript function send the parameter to the jsp whitch construct an xml file and resend to the first one. this will reconstruct my second dropdownList with the xml code constructed and received. so the problem that the parameter dosent sent at all. What should I do.

• Does the number of busy worker threads in the CLR ThreadPool affect performance of I/O threads?

  We have a Windows Service which hosts a number of WCF services and, in an unrelated part of the app, makes extensive use of the TPL Task class to asynchronously do relatively short bits of work. It is my understanding that WCF uses managed I/O threads from the ThreadPool to execute requests. I noticed that after deploying a feature which significantly raised the applications use of Tasks, and as such the use of ThreadPool worker threads as well, performance of a couple of web services has become very slow. We're talking minutes instead of less than a second. The number of Tasks actually trying to run at any one time can range between 20 and 1000, which makes me think that any new (last in) work needing some CPU time could be forced to wait for quite some time. Does the (in my case extremely large) number of busy ThreadPool worker threads affect the ThreadPool's managed I/O threads? Or could these two be connected in any way? Thanks!

• Core Data: Fetch all entities in a to-many-relationship of a particular object?

  Hi there, in my iPhone application I am using simple Core Data Model with two entities (Item and Property): Item name properties Property name value item Item has one attribute (name) and one one-to-many-relationship (properties). Its inverse relationship is item. Property has two attributes the according inverse relationship. Now I want to show my data in table views on two levels. The first one lists all items; when one row is selected, a new UITableViewController is pushed onto my UINavigationController's stack. The new UITableView is supposed to show all properties (i.e. their names) of the selected item. To achieve this, I use a NSFetchedResultsController stored in an instance variable. On the first level, everything works fine when setting up the NSFetchedResultsController like this: -(NSFetchedResultsController *) fetchedResultsController { if (fetchedResultsController) return fetchedResultsController; // goal: tell the FRC to fetch all item objects. The above NSLog statement returns me the correct number of properties for the selected item. Should have found 3." return [sectionInfo numberOfObjects]; } The same implementation works fine on the first level. It's getting even weirder. I implemented some kind of UI to add properties. I create a new Property instance via Property *p = [NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:@"Property" inManagedObjectContext:self.moContext];, set up the relationships and call [self.moContext save:&error]. This seems to work, as error is still nil and the object gets saved (I can see the number of properties when logging the Item instance, see above). However, the delegate methods are not fired. This seems to me due to the possibly messed up fetchRequest(Controller). Any ideas? Did I mess up the second fetch request? Is this the right way to fetch all entities in a to-many-relationship for a particular instance at all?

• Is .gitignore not working or I have misunderstood it?

  I am very new to git. I have a .gitignore in the my working folder. *.jpg *.gif *.png system/* */Zend/* .idea/*.* Well, I did git init and then git add *. At this it worked fine and ignored the above files. But when I did some changes, ran the same command it puts the ignored files into staging area. The reason why I am using git add * is because I work on many files and adding each file would be a overkill. Update: Here are messages when I run git add * second time.. #new file: application/vendors/Zend/XmlRpc/Value/String.php #new file: application/vendors/Zend/XmlRpc/Value/Struct.php ... The list is too long.

  I am new to openERP and facing issues with HR module. I have this structure Project Manager-Team Leader-Developer Team Leader is a manager of developer Project Manager is manager of Team Leader. So, if developer asks for leave then first leave request should be sent to Team Leader (mail notification to Team Leader and Project Manager) and once TL approves Leave then automaitically request sent to Project Manager for second level approval. With openERP 6.1, there is no possibility to approve leave by Team Leader unless and until Team Leader is specified as a HR manager which is inappropriate. Anybody have any solution then let me know.   I have two lists List<User> list_of_users=new ArrayList<User>(); List<String> list_of_attributes=new ArrayList<String>(); When i try to use the following lines of code: model.addAttribute("takeattributes",list_of_users); model.addAttribute("takeattributes",list_of_attributes); I realise that it keeps only the second list (list_of_attributes) and the first deleted. I was wondering how to keep both of these two lists in the model.Is this possible to be happened?Is the AddAllAttributes method what i need?If yes can anyone explain me how the AddAllAttributes method is working.I look at the spring mvc documentation but i didn't really understand.

  hi, 1, I already download the "Apple Worldwide Developer Relations Certification Authority",and add it into my keychain. 2, My team leader already had created two Cers for Mac App store developing, I download and add it into my keychain. 3, I used two methods to sign my add, but failed all. First, add code sign section in my .xcodeproj(3.2.5). Second, I used script: productbuild --component ./bin/MAS_Release/MyApp.app /Applications --sign "3rd Party Mac Developer Application: My Company Co., Ltd." --product ./src/MyApp/MyApp-Info.plist MyApp.pkg But it failed with information: Code Signing Identity '3rd Party Mac Developer Application: My Company Co., Ltd.' does not match any valid, non-expired, code-signing certificate in your keychain. I observed that my certifications in keychain don't have small trangle. how make the small trangle absence?(when I'am importing the Cers from my Agent, it don't have the trangle absence)

• Problem in passing arrays from C# to C++

  Hi, I have an application in which I need to pass an array from C# to a C++ DLL. What is the best method to do it? I did some search on Internet and figured out that I need to pass the arrays from C# using ref. The code for the same: status = IterateCL(ref input, ref output); The input and output arrays are of length 20. and the corresponding code in C++ DLL is IterateCL(int *&inArray, int *&outArray) This works fine for once. But if I try to call the function from C# in a loop the second time, the input array in C# is showing up as an array of one element. Why is this happening and please help me how I can call this function iteratively from C#. Thanks, Rakesh.

• Confusion about Nullable<T> constraints

  Greetings everybody. I am sorry, if this was already asked before (searched in vain) or is really very simple, but i just can't get it. The MSDN definition of a Nullable type, states, that it is defined in a following manner: [SerializableAttribute] public struct Nullable<T> where T : struct, new() So the question is quite straightforward: How is this definition possible? Or this is just a typo? Every value type already has a default constructor. Indeed, when i try to compile something like this, the compiler reasonably says, that it is illegal to apply both constraints at the same time, because the second one is implicitly included in a first one. By Reverse Breath First Search, I mean instead of searching a tree starting from a common node, I want to search the tree from the bottom and gradually converged to a common node. Let's see the below figure, this is the output of a Breath First Search: In my reverse breath first search, 9,10,11 and 12 will be the first few nodes found ( the order of them are not important as they are all first order). 5, 6, 7 and 8 are the second few nodes found, and so on. 1 would be the last node found.   I have a function that needs to perfom two operations, one which finishes fast and one which takes a long time to run. I want to be able to delegate the long running operation to a thread and I dont care when the thread finishes, but the threads needs to complete. I implemented this as shown below , but, my secondoperation never gets done as the function exits after the start() call. • Parsing an Open XML doc via styled blocks

  I'm working with docx docs, and I need to parse a document into sections on the basis of headings styled with the "heading 1" style. So if I had a doc like this (markup is pseudocode): <doc> <title style>Doc Title</title style> <heading1>First Section</heading1> ... <heading2>Second Section</heading2> ... <heading3>Third Section</heading3> ... </doc> I'd want to break this into a doc with four sections, the first being the content that precedes the first section. I figure that this is probably pretty simple once you're familiar with Open XML, but I am not. TIA.
